The U209-006-RJ45-X USB to RJ45 Cisco Serial Rollover Cable is designed for consumers and IT professionals who want to connect their computer or laptop's USB port to their Cisco modem, router, firewall, switch or other serial-based Cisco device with a console port. Convenient six-foot cable eliminates the need for additional cables or adapters. Install the drivers using the included CD, then attach the RJ45 plug to your Cisco device and the USB plug to your computer for a direct connection. No external power is required. Supports data transfer rates up to 250 Kbps, as well as remote wake-up and power management. Product works as advertised. I have had no issues using this cable to console into Cisco devices. Works every time and is much simpler thaen the old USB to db9 cables. No need to have cisco console cable laying around as well.

No more dongles for console cables
Working great and easy to pack. I'm very grateful that I don't need to use the usb dongle for the console cables anymore.

It does require a restart though, which isn't really a big deal but might be an inconvenience if you are trying to use it for the first time during a maintenance window or something.

Instead of doing it traditional way I found the very solution its USB to RJ45 for console connectivity for almost every network switch and routers we have. I really love this product and recommend that every Network Engineer should have one.

Nevertheless, I took a chance on it working with my MOTOROLA modem's Ethernet port...and guess what? IT DOES!!! I couldn't be happier with this purchase. Once in a while, things work out perfectly, and this is one of those times. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

When I got the above unit I was skeptical, but that skepticism turned to joy when this unit lived up to its plug-and-play action. It look me longer to configure Putty than it did to configure this device in Windows 10. The only issue I had was there was no drivers CD as mentioned in the instructions . No worries . I just downloaded them from the Tripplite website - and the rest was history. Tripplite's products speak for themselves
