The fi-8040 is a compact, high-performance document scanner designed for business environments, including remote work settings. With DirectScan, users can scan directly to email, network folders, or FTP servers without a PC, using the built-in 4.3" touchscreen. PaperStream NX Manager enables seamless integration with business applications and cloud services, streamlining workflows within secure environments.

Despite its small footprint (11.5 x 6.2 x 5.6 in) and lightweight build (6.8 lb), the fi-8040 handles up to 6,000 sheets per day and features a 50-sheet ADF. It supports various paper types and sizes, including A3, plastic cards (up to 0.7mm thick), and folded or multi-layered documents—without a carrier sheet. Built-in overlap and length detection ensure reliable, accurate scans.

The CIS sensor and GI processing engine deliver high-quality images, while Clear Images Capture enhances definition for precise data extraction. Connectivity options include USB 3.2 and Ethernet for seamless integration. PaperStream IP and PaperStream Capture software improve image quality and streamline batch scanning.
