The Utility Series Latch II 10 inch tablet carrying case is perfect for holding the tablet while working, giving a presentation or teaching a class. Rated 5 out of 5 by from No other product like it on the market This is the second unit in 4 years. While a terrific product when it’s new the elastic corners wear very fast. I have had to substitute elastic bands in the field on one of the units. I was able to return one to my office before the second one broke. My current utility latch was purchased by myself, only so I can hold Otter box accountable when it fails next year as I know they will replace it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It’s functional I do construction inspections. I carry the iPad everywhere on the construction site. I have an 11” iPad Pro I bought new in July 2019. I got the Defender and the Latch II. The Latch II is made for the 10” iPad which means you have to stretch the corner elastics a bit farther to work on the 11” iPad. One year later, the Latch II elastic broke. I got a new one. One year later, the elastic broke. This review is for my 3rd Latch II I just installed and it works perfect. I expect this will break also. I wish the Defender cover/stand would work better as a stand with the Latch II attached. In the end, there is a need for improvement but it’s the best out there. I only buy Otterbox Defenders for my phones and iPads. I’ve never had a single device break yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product After several years I finally purchased the Utility Series Latch for the iPad 2 and like most products from Otter Box I was not disappointed. The product was easy to install and added a little extra versatility to the things we do with our iPad. The kids love that they can easily hold the ipad with one hand and I'm not so worried about them dropping it. The only downside I see on the item are the rubber like materials used to hold the Utility Latch onto the iPad. There seems to be a lot of tension on these straps and they look like they might rip at any time. By readjusting these straps and the elastic straps they are secured to and making sure the load is being distributed evenly among the four straps it doesn't seem as bad, but there is still alot of tension. Hopefully, these straps are more durable than they seem and my concerns are unwarranted, but time will tell. Otherwise, it's a great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Okay Purchase I bought this product a month a go. It took two weeks to get to me and after the 3rd use the bag accessory hook broke. Please see attached. Other than this issue the product is great. I l really like how you can have a full grasp of the tablet and not have to cover your screen with your had. We use ours a lot in job sites for review of progress and they work great. I would not get the extra accessory if i buy another one in the future.

However, the rubber grips that hold the latch system onto the Otterbox, make the Otterbox front cover shield unusable. Because my iPad Air is used on the job, that means it bounces around in the work truck between jobs. The Otterbox does a great job of protecting, but I still want the front shield to cover the screen. However, bc I use the latch system, I am not able to get the screen shield to stay on. So one has to decide if they want the handy carrying latch system, or the complete Otterbox protection of the case and shield.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Customer Service This is a great case for attaching an iPad to the headrest in a car, so kids can watch movies on a long trip, when you don't have a built in DVD player. We accidentally left our case in a rental car and Otter Box actually gave us a new one. It was amazing. We also have Otter Box cases for our iPhones. My husband accidentally left his phone on the roof of our van, until he was going 45 mph and we heard it fall off! We expected the worst, but there was no damage to the phone, and very little to the case! We will be Otter Box users for life!

Phone,tablet,etc. I already recommended this to a friend straps to the headrest ,has a rest in itself. only problem is the tether for the accessories bag broke but they replaced it right away no problem. Still a great case especially since I can hold it with one hand now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Needs improvement on corner straps We use outside in heat and the corner straps keep breaking. The good thing is your replacement policy is excellent. Even though they don’t last long for us I still purchase this item because of the replacement. I have 5 iPads which we rotate use, so a holder usually lasts 2 months. I usually have one or two on hand to replace right away when they break. You need to develop replacement corner straps so I could just replace that part. On one iPad I used a ponytail elastic band so I didn’t have to call you to replace it.

Wish you can come up with longer lasting material for the Rubber Band Connector Straps at the corners. Then you would have a "bullet-proof" product !!! Using zip-tie connector to replace the broken Rubber Band Connector Straps. Let me know when you develop a longer lasting replacement part. Thank You. Simi Valley, CA

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Upgraded I also have the previous design. Loved the concept, but the elastic nature of corner straps made it risky. Fixed with some clear "sticky dots" and used it daily. The new design is awesome, corner straps are made of a (leather-rubber) type material. They grab and hold excellent with or without a bulky case..I use no case, and works great.. The little utility bag straps aren't that strong. One of mine gave way while carrying it by the bag...the other held so no drop happened...The bag is a great addon for an instant prop to angle device, just be Leary of trusting those little hoops that hold it on...YES, I would by this product again, and have already had 2 coworkers purchase one.

In addition to the hand strap built into the back, the product comes with a shoulder strap, a large Velcro strap, and a large clip for hanging the iPad in a variety of ways. All of the accessories fit nicely into a small carrying pouch that can be clipped to the latch. The only drawbacks are how the latch can cover the buttons on the iPad and how it makes the Defender cover difficult to attach.

Not only does it make using my iPad more comfortable while perusing my Pins for the day, the accessory kit acts as a stand to help my daughter watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. We have yet to use this awesome new tool in our car, but I know it will make our drive this Fall to California (from Colorado) that much smoother for our two year old. I recommend this product to every parent out there and anyone that uses their iPad or other tablet for long periods of time (including Facetime with the grandparents).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product Utility Series Latch II has a great design. You can use it with almost any other hard case other then the OtterBox. I gave an average quality due to the stitching on the optional carrying case. With it flopping around on the carabineers, it will rip off after awhile. OtterBox will replace it free, (and has done so already for me a few times), but its just a hassle to run thru. Great product other then that.

Being in the contracting business, this strap lets me be more productive in the field. I don't need to lug 15 lbs. of drawings around when I could take my tablet with me into the field and check drawings, take notes, etc.. I just wish that Otter Box would make a protective case for the Surface Pro.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just a minor change needed and will be perfect I use my Galaxy note 10.1 2014 edition for work. I use the camera to take several pictures of a house and have it stored in a trident protective case. Using this latch was a great idea and works well however, when using the camera feature 2 things happen. 1. Your fingers are in the way most of the time. (easy fix by repositioning your fingers). 2. The edge of the main center portion of the latch gets so close when you use it that the flash bounces off of the edge and causes a shadow or flash back on the picture. The only way to prevent this was to use my thumb and pull the back down away from the camera lens. (not comfortable to do this action when moving from one photo to the next) It did not make sense to use because it was defeating the purpose for which I bought the product. Which was a holder in my hand without falling off and allowing me to use my laser measure for the other part of my job. The round storage pouch I liked as well however, when I got it, it was not large enough to store my measuring device which was a let down. Fix the camera interference and make the storage bag 1/3rd larger and ill get another one. Perhaps a cut out section for the camera much the same as the protective case I have uses. Also don't forget that people like myself will use a very durable protective case if you had a series like defender or the Preserver Better yet a COMBINE THE 2. I use mine in blizzard here (literally) in 2013/2014 season (Rochester, NY) and rain is an issue. I cannot dictate weather so I have to do my work regardless and need to protect my tablet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I use this for work I debated as to whether to spend the extra money for this but it was well worth the money. It makes carrying my tablet so much easier and more secure. In my job I'm often climbing through bushes or walking around pools as I look at homes and I'm not nearly as worried now about dropping my tablet. I also like strapping it to my leg as I'm driving for the map so I don't have to worry about it sliding around or having to reach over an pick it up. I can easily glance down at the map to check my route. I highly recommend this attachment if you use your tablet for work.

I love the idea but we have now purchased 2 sets of these. The rubber straps continue to break and its extremely disappointing. I wish that they could make them more durable. We need this kind of product to protect our Ipads but repurchasing over and over just isn't worth the money. I do not recommend this product.

I am in an electric wheel chair and this device makes it really easy for me to transport and use my I pad. thank you very much. The pouch is large enough to carry the charging cord for the I pad and my cell phone, a big plus.

I have arthritis in my hands and found the small nite-zee clips very difficult to get off the cloth loops. I am thinking about putting split rings on the loops to help me. Other than that the product is exactly what I wanted to assist me in holding my IPad.

This includes email, punch list, and document referral. This Utility latch allows me the convenience of having the iPad with me at all times, but without the hassle of holding it. My only suggestion would be to face the screen away from the body when you carry it so you do not scratch the otterbox screen protector while you are walking. This may sound backwards, but I found the buttons on the back of my jeans were scratching the cover.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My IPad Mini fell out of the Latch The Outter Utility Series Latch II 10 Inch doesn't fit my IPad Mini the way it should. I was climbing down a ladder today from 30' up and I heard something hit the ground. It was my IPad Mini. It slipped out of the Outter Latch. Ever since I got the Outter Latch a few days ago I've noticed it doesn't fit well. I'm constanly having to adjust it so the ears are over the corners of the IPad. The last Outter Latch I had fit properly but the rubber ears were too thin and kept breaking hince made me have to buy another.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does an okay job I purchased the Latch for my Samsung Tab S4. Straps keep it secure, however the one strap covers the "on" button. This causes the tablet go into screen saver mode. Additionally, the rotating handle needs to be mounted at a different angle. Very awkward to hold with left hand in portrait mode. I hope that when the Defender case comes out for this tablet it will help with the button problem. Otherwise the Latch is useless for me.

Really comfortable to hold in my hand with the handle on the back, and I love that the strap case doubles as a way to prop up the iPad. Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Add-on for an OtterBox Defender Case Even with a very grippy OtterBox Defender Case (iPad Air case on a 5th Gen iPad) the edges don't give you much space to hold. If your thumb touches the screen, your touchscreen functions don't work correctly. The Latch II solves this problem by giving you a handle on back. It is very comfortable and rotates for portrait or landscape modes. The belt clip, accessory bag, and shoulder strap are icing on the cake.

One of the corner straps covers the volume buttons, meaning whenever I want to adjust the volume I need to remove that corner, I am not sure anything can be done about that. I may recommend that the strap-holder in back be set at about 15°. As an artist using the holder to draw on the IPad I found the angle could not be adjusted to a comfortable location. As this is almost the only case that allows this flexibility at all I am happy to deal with the inconvenience.

I won't even by a product if its doesn't have an Outter Box case that goes with it. The only one down fall that I have with your product it the belt clip keeps braking on your phone cases. Other than that the best cases in the world for phones and tablets.

The rubber straps are too thin where they connect to the nylon straps on each corner. The ten I ordered are just replacement for latches that have failed on one or multiple corners.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Otterbox Utility Latch Review This is a replacement for my previous OtterBox Utility Latch. On that model, the velcro came severed/unstiched. I called OtterBox and received a brand new one the next day. The replacement was a newer version of my previous one. Much better design strength and durability. However this model did not come with the "rain cover". The only way to improve upon this model is if they were able to include an extra "pouch" for storing the USB charger and cable. (an extra hook would also be terrific. I have had many OtterBox products abd have converted my entire family over to Otterbox protecting all of there iphones, ipads, ect. OtterBox has the GREATEST service in the industry. Dave

However, parts of the case and the handle on the back sometimes extend up far enough to obscure part of the camera when taking a picture. This is usually not evident until after the picture has been taken and downloaded. It would be good if the straps were shorter and possibly less flexible at the bottom than at the top so that the handle stays lower on the back of the tablet.

The design of the back doesn't work as well with the headrest strap. The diagonal shape of the gap allows the iPad to rotate. I had to put the strap between the carrier and the iPad to hold it straight. The product would be better with the old back design and the new corners.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My guys love it. One of my gentlemen is a bit larger and we had to let the strap completely out. that is the only thing that is a bit concerning. I know it would not be long enough for a very large man.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Major flaw!!! I have used the otter box hand strap for years. It's one of the main reasons I use the otter box case. After my first one finally wore out I decided it was time for a new one. The new design is really cool, but the rubber straps keep breaking. I never had any issues with my old one...but this one has a strap break every couple of weeks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Utility Series Latch II 10 inch I bought this case to use with my Surface pro 3. It fits fine even though the case is for 10" tablets. The issue I have is to use the tablet in portrait mode it is uncomfortable. The spinning handle on the back will not turn far enough for a good feel. I "modified" it by making two cuts on the back so the handle will spin further.

As it currently works the corner bands are actually pulling itself and the defender case corners from the iPad. Also the satchels fabric attachments could be sturdier and the satchel could be easier to put on and take off as needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from minor flaws i work for a software company, so the otterbox case and latch have NOT been field tested. even though the piece where you slip you hand into rotates, i couldn't get my wrist into a comfortable position. if the rotating part could go 360 degrees, it would work better for me. one of my co-workers thinks the straps that you hook around the case may eventually break. Stitching and overall quality look good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Otter Box Latch II with Accessory Kit On my suggestion, the school district bought this case with the extra Accessory Kit for my teenage autistic son. I was hoping this would make his iPad more portable. His school iPad already has a black, heavy duty case with a screen protector. This case did not work for several reasons: (1) The stretchy corner strap keeps getting over the camera lens. (2) The extra cost carrying strap is too thin and digs into his shoulder. (3) One clip busted on the carrying strap within a couple months. His school aide tied the strap to the case loop. (4) He doesn’t use the hand hold in the back of the case. I’m guessing it’s the same reason I have a shoulder purse; I don’t like carrying the purse all the time. (5) His existing case has a triangular plastic piece that can be used as a stand. However, with the hand hold in the back of the case, you cannot get to the stand. (6) We never used the extra cost wide “strap” and the clip. The extra wide strap is too short to be used as a shoulder strap. (7) I bought an extra stand that was extra wide for both the black case and the Otter Box so he can see the iPad vertically in “regular” portrait mode.
