Rated 5 out of 5 by from Always use otterbox Ever since my 1st iPhone I have always used the otterbox defender I have dropped my phone off ladders, dropped on the floor in a car park and not noticed it rolled under the car parked next to me that car had pulled off and drive straight over my phone it had a tyre print right over it and it still worked good as new not a scratch on it!! The cases never hinder the use of the phone either no distorted sound or flappy cover bits that get in the way of the camera. Never had an insurance claim on a phone never had a broken screen best case ever!

These have served them exceptionally well and have protected their phones in the past from many falls and now they’ve upgraded their iPhones and wanted nothing but otterbox.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Otterbox vs F350/Howitzer/Glock My phone has been through hell. - While at work, I left my phone on the windshield of an F350 I was working on. After finishing repairs, I picked up my tools and forgot my phone. I went to shut the hood but it didn’t close. So I tried smashing the hood of the truck 3 or 4 more times, only to find it was my phone that was stopping it. I thought for sure it was in pieces. Not a scratch. Case was roughed up, but that’s it. Hood had to be replaced. - Forgot my Glock was holstered on my right side when I shoved my phone in my back pocket. Sat down and my gun smashed my phone screen. Not a scratch. Cracked the screen protector but that’s it. - Dropped it multiple times from the top of an M109A6 Paladin, aka Howitzer. No damage. - Accidentally drop kicked my phone off a 15 ft ladder while at work. - Dropped phone in deep end of pool and couldn’t find it for around 30 min. - Got angry. Threw phone at wall. Had to repair the wall but my phone was fine. (Multiple occasions - Left phone outside during a field training exercise all day. Got covered in mud, dirt, and water. - Left phone in tool bag. Ended up getting smashed around inside my truck box for a few days. - Ran over phone with 4 wheeler. - Drop phone on a daily basis without fail while getting out of my truck. My phone finally broke yesterday. Touchscreen module or something inside broke. Had my wife take it to get fixed. While the tech dude was running diagnostics on it, he said to her, “looks like this phones been through a lot” Fearing they might void my warranty, she just said “you have no idea” 3 years. One broken iphone. Same Otterbox case. Now installing the same case on my replacement iphone. Buckle up guys. We’ve got another 3 years to go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved my phone...again Many yeas ago I bought one for an iPhone 4. I dropped it at work from 22 feet on concrete. Case cracked but my phone was fine. Then I got a iPhone 6, and a new otterbox case for it. Dropped it again at the same spot at work, phone was fine. Case was fine. It's even survived a hit on the back from a drumstick when my phone fell out of the stand clamp and landed face down on my snare drum. Today, I have an iPhone 11. Bought this case for it when I got the phone. I literally just forgot my phone on the top of my car. I headed down my rural road and took a left onto a local route where the speed limit is 50. Eventually the phone fell off the car and that's when I realized I left my phone on the car. I was going 55. THE PHONE AND CASE ARE FINE - NO DAMAGE! Unbelievable product. Yes, they are expensive - but so is your phone. Yes they are bulky but they are worth every penny!

I was recently in my garage working and had my phone on top of the ladder. I accidently knocked it off and it hit the concrete garage floor hard. I do like the rugged protection since I have a toddler and I have been known to drop my phone. But it is BIG and pretty heavy. Totally as a result of the increased protection but a bit too hefty. I’m keeping it because I like the pattern but I’ll have to get an Apple Watch for running so I don’t have to carry the beast of a phone :

The color is beautiful, and I love the texture of the case as well as the iridescent pattern. I also love that so far it is only available online, which means less people will be walking around with the same case. I hope they do not start selling it in the stores. This case is a win for me!

With the recent purchase of my iPhone 11, I felt like I wanted something a bit sturdier to protect my phone, particularly because I’ve got multiple children trying to grab for it and use it these days. I think the Defender should do the trick!!

I’m a bit clumsy and drop my phone pretty regularly; with the Defender series my phone has never, not once, been damaged due to a drop on cement or tile or any flooring that works normally damage a phone. For someone like me who doesn’t want to worry about damaging my phone? There is no other way to go. And I love the new blue pattern I bought; looks stylish and professional.

Fond presentation on Tube which showed that inner sleeve must be removed from outer case by releasing clips and then putting phone in. I can not find any clips. Will buy something else. Made in China Junk.

I do wish you would make the colors of the iPhones that come out most of the colors are ugly and the same every year. Also don’t like you took the screen protector away but the price is the same. I always try other cases but come back to otter. Just do better, keep up with the changes. I bought a tumbler . Awesome design use that kind of covering on your phone products. Being dropped is the most common phone threat but I have ran over o e with the hay trailer and the case did it’s job! I tend to wear the cases out, Otterbox Warranty is right there to help!! It suffered a few drops and falls and lasted well over four years. When I finally removed the iPhone 6 from the Otterbox Defender, the iPhone was like new! My latest Otterbox Defender, which is a bit larger, is for my iPhone 11. It has the same reassuring solid battleship construction. I am so glad I bought it and the manufacturer shipped it so quickly. I didn't even want to think about leaving home with myslippery, glass-encased phone without the Otterbox protection. If you're active like me and afraid of accidently dropping your iPhone, I doubt that you will find a more perfectly constructed product that can ease your worries and reassure you that your phone is safe and well protected during your activities. The quality of the Otterbox Defender case is extraordinary. One cautionary note, however: under no circumstance should anyone try to install the iPhone into the Otterbox without first reviewing and understanding the installation diagrams (The Defender case is intricately designed, so care is needed. Finally, since the Otterbox Defender case does not include a screen protector, I highly recommend purchasing the absolutely top-quality Amplify glass screen protector. I love it. Takes care and patience to install, but so worth it!

It fell out of my pocket and was destroyed by getting ran over. They replaced my case without any problems. I wish all companies treated customers so well!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Third One Purchased The case is so good that this was the third one I've purchased. Three in five years - one phone was stolen, or I'd still have the second case. My job requires me to be constantly on the move, carrying the phone with me, looking up info, calling, texting, messaging. The holsters have never worn out. The hard case has never failed. The only one thing that seems to wear quickly and fall off is the power port cover. Constant and excessive use makes that thing go pretty fast. The next to go is the rubber outer casing and ONLY because I'm always messing with the phone and usually have hydrocarbons on my hands (gas, fuel, diesel, etc.), which make rubber expand. If I had a desk job in a clean office, one case would last forever. The ONLY thing is that there isn't a screen protector, but my wife bought one and that's that. Otter Box has been super for me compared to the piece of garbage alternative I tried one time that only lasted a month.

I had the Otter D for my i-Phone 7 and it not only protected it, but provided extra insurance against losing or misplacing it. My i-Phone 7 once fell out of my car while I was exiting, but I wasn't aware it was missing until I drove anther two miles, In retracing my steps I returned to the same parking spot to discover: 1. I had run over the i-Phone 2. It was still working and in tact. So bought the new phone and had my Otter Defender put on it even BEFORE I activated the new phone.Thanks to the Otter Defender and those who engineered it.

It was left in perfect condition. That old Otterbox is still in great shape. I recently replaced It only because I changed phones. I expect my new case to do just as great a job until I get my next phone. I’ll get an Otterbox for that one, as well.

We purchased a similar Otter Defender case last year. The Defender case protects his iPhone 11 even when he drops it, as he is very active. He is an aspiring Eagle Scout, he rides his bicycle a lot, and he plays ice hockey. At school, he's on the Stage Crew. He is very responsible, but at this age, he is so active that we appreciate peace of mind we get from knowing Otter Defender will protect communication devices that our son depends upon as his lifeline to us. We highly recommend Otter Defender!

Case fits very well, fits nicely with alpha glass protector and seems to be a high quality my only negative is the left hand side of my defender case doesn’t seem to click together quite as well as the other side and creaks when sometimes typing.

I also love the slightly raised "lip" surrounding the front of the phone, which enhances protection for the screen. The material permits a slip proof grip. I work road construction and I would say that more of my fellow workers use an otterbox defender case than any other for 2 simple reasons. 1-It provides excellent protection from physical hazards and the elements. 2-It comes with a clip holster that can go on a belt or safety vest depending on where one wants to wear it.

I was kinda upset about the colour choices. I wanted mint so I could get a mint phone... but had to settle on the purple. I had the orange phone and case which matched perfectly. This... not so Much. plus, they’ve changed the cases, (at iPhone XR) with no screens. How can these be waterproof with no screens. They cost just as much but now the over purchase of the case is another 20$ because you need a screen. Next time I think I’ll skip the defender and it’s price tag. They should be giving me a free one I’ve bought so many. 2 for each, the iPhone 4, 5, 6, 6s, xr and now 11. That’s a serious cash outlay for a now cheaply made case with no screen. Oh, and the marketing behind the case? Now screenless. Please.

The wind blew my jacket overboard. When I fished the jacket it was soaking wet (salt water but my phone was fine. The only reason I only gave it a 4 rating was after about 4 years the flap that covers the charging port broke off from use. But that didn't stop me from buying another one. Can't tell you how many times times my phone was dropped! Great case!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product but not as easy to use as my last one The Otter Defender I purchased for my I-Phone 11 does the job of protecting my phone, but so far is a little tight about getting it in and out of the belt mounted holder. I am not sure if it is tightness due to newness or just engineered a little tight. you have to press harder to snap the phone into the belt mounted holder. Hopefully it wii loosen up with use. I am also experiencing an issue with the button on the right side of the case that is to shut down the phone. I have to sometimes depress it 2 or 3 times to actually make contact with the button on the actual phone.

This is not the first Realtree camo case I’ve purchased & then a few months later they discontinued that product. I’m sorry I’m on disability so I don’t get phones when they first come out. Ok Otterbox & I also have a also have a Alpha glass screen protector that was cracked and as I was trying to remove it to take a picture to send to you it shattered in more pieces than I can count also & I also have a cable that needs to be replaced also please get back to me & i can send you pictures of them all. Also last time I had a warranty replacement I contacted your customer service told you what went wrong sent them pics & then asked if I could throw the things away & I was told yes so I did also the next day was trash pick up so the garnage was picked up bf I got a email from the people above cs & was asked to send them pics of the goods & I showed them that I was told I could throw them out. This baby fell and bounced and you would never know as my phone stayed in tip top condition. Never a scratch or dent. So when I purchased my 11, this is the case I wanted. Apple has some Otter exclusive but not this one. When I went online to get it, I was sadden that the case is now screenless. I went back and forth and finally got it. Like before, the case is great! I love that it has an inner shell and an outer rubber part. The flaps over the mute switch and port I do hope will withstand the opening and closing over time. With the iPhone 6 case, those were the first one that wore down. I would give this a five but why drop the plastic screen cover??? Please bring that back. Please. As much as I feel safe with the outer and inner shell, that plastic touch screen cover was what made the Defender case the best. I can only speak for me but the idea of having to spend an extra $40 for a glass screen cover is insulting.

I’m glad they emailed the ask bout your product as it stands right now I am not very happy with the OtterBox that I received the rubber that goes around the outside of the plastic. It has already start of the deteriorating environment part I have a crack where the two pieces of plastic cooked together, which is been there since literally the second day that I’ve had the case. I have been a supporter of your cases for years ever since I started an iPhones back in the early 2009 when Verizon came out the iPhone 4, but this is the first time that I’ve had issues with your case is falling apart, literally from the day that I got them also, I think you guys really messed up by not putting in the plastic bag over top of the screens to protect the phones. At the time of the purchase, I was unaware that there was no longer plastic that protected the screen in my phone, and I only found out after I bought the box that you literally had to buy separate glass to protect your glass on your phone I wasn’t very happy about that because I’m used to paying top dollar for your boxes only to find out that I had to pay almost $40 for for the screen protector $40 that I don’t have I’m a blue-collar American working to retail job unloading for 824 seven to find out first that my case is broken wire is hard for it even snap together to the rubber now do you see the the rubber breaking apart just above where the silent to ringer volume switch is. Right now I give your product less than one star which is sad considering of all the times that I bought one of your cases either off your website or through secondary means like the Walmart Gabriels or a secondhand store that will be selling other boxes at a reasonable price this is the first time that I’ve absolutely been disappointed in your product and I’ve actually been thinking about getting rid of this product and getting a different case for my phone. By separating the two, you have effectively doubled the price for the same item that I purchased for my iphone 8, with no improvement in quality. The screen protector does not fit properly and when I put the phone in the case, the protector pops up around the edges and air gets underneath. Either your instructions are inadequate or the part is defective.

It's a big, thick case, and very grip-able (not slippery. We're not trying to be sleek. We are trying to protect. I am able to do wireless charging through the case, so I do not even have to open the protective flap over the lightning port.

Thick and heavy, which is what I wanted for my iPhone 11. However the instructions are rubbish. They are a series of a few pictures, presumably to make sure it is internationally useful and has no words on it. I did not realise there were three different pieces in total, two in the main case itself and one for a clip holster (I have not used the holster). I thought the main case was just one solid piece and you pushed your iphone straight in to that. However you are supposed to press little push clips around the phone case to separate it in to two distinct pieces. Then you push your phone in to one and then reclip the other piece. The phone holster is separate if you want to use it. I know that my explanation sounds confusing so trust me, if you buy, it's a good case but just watch a Youtube video for the setup.

My new Iphone 11 case is great, lots of edge protection, covers for ports and switches. Even with this protection, will fit into short pocket (most of the way) or used the included belt clip, which works well and can be set to any angle.

I’ve been wary both times I’ve bought the defender case since they’ve switched over to screen less but both times, they’ve proven lovely cases that really protect my phone. Compared to the otterbox commuter that my friend has, my defender seems to have a bit of a chunkier bezel around the screen which helps protect the screen a little more. I usually have trouble picking defender cases because I usually don’t like the patterns available but this one was very cute! It’s a great case that feels substantial without being bulky

The prices are very high, but other cars don't offer the same level of protection. The belt holster/clip gives extra theft protection. The clip is a little uncomfortable on the hip, but does the job in combination with the case.

Pull tabs for charging and switching your phone to silent. Like all defender series the case makes the phone substantially bigger and heavier. But if you go Defender that’s what to expect.

Changing a SIM card is a huge hassle. I have to dismantle the case each time. I change sims about six times a month because I travel a lot. I hope future versions will have SIM card access. And with COVID I can’t get ahold of customer service to get a replacement one or 5. Overall I’m zero percent satisfied with my most current order with OtterBox. However, I am adding my experience with both a 3s and a 6s iPhone mated with an Outterbox Defender model. So in all these years of ownership, which included numerous drops and wet and excessive dusty environments, I never damaged, chipped a corner or broke a screen. I owe my success in not having to replace an iPhone due to damage to the Outterbox Defender. Thank you to Outterbox .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Choice Very happy with my purchase - phone feels protected and has not gotten any scratches on it even though I am clumsy and drop it every now and then....The only thing I have to say is that it is somewhat difficult to open the hard "shell." The two main clips are in a different orientation that the smaller clips that surround the phone case and this makes it difficult to put on and remove the case. Still, it is possible to do and the phone is definitly not coming out any time soon! Also very happy with the pattern on the back of the case (has not rubbed off or faded. A note to previous OtterBox owners - the back of the case is much smoother than it has been with previous OtterBoxes that I've owned (this is my third). It is not slippery, but the feeling in your hand(s) will be slightly different and is something to think about.

When I put the legendary defender on, my iPhone 11 heats up to an alarming degree. There’s no air flow or ventilation of any kind on the case. I currently only have the really flimsy back part and frame, that “snap together,” on. Basically, I spent $139 to have no protection, as I cannot use it for very long if the full case is on. I suppose it would be handy if I was only using my phone for maybe 5 minutes at a time, only 6 times a day. However, what else is there to do during a global pandemic, than scroll through mind numbing apps? I wouldn’t recommend this to a friend who uses their phone a lot.

I got the new iPhone 11 I did the same thing I ordered the defender. The only problem is no screen protector. You sale it separate and it’s almost as much as the case. I could have gone with someone else. I went with Otterbox because I knew the product. Not anymore. As soon as I find a case with a screen protector , I will be changing case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Like It I've had the Defender case for about a week now for the iPhone 11 and I think it is great. I recently upgraded my mobile phone from an iPhone 5s. Which I had the Defender case for at least 7 years. After 7 years of abuse on the iPhone 5s, the only issue I had with the older version is having the rubber loosen around the frame and the covers around the charging port rip off. BUT THAT IS 7 Years of ABUSE. This case is, obviously much larger than the 5s dimensionally, the new case seems just as durable and even more sleek (thiner). I am giving this a 4 of 5 only because I wish the case came with a screen protector. Either one imbeded in the case, or one that could be interchanged as the abuse starts to wear the transparency of the screen protector.

I just turned in my pristine iPhone 6s that had been in the Defender case for it's life and bought a new Defender case for my iPhone 11. Wouldn't trust any other case. I do wish they would have continued to use the clear screen cover, sad to see that one go. I had to use Otterbox Customer Service for a case that had a slight issue and was immediately provided a new case! Their customer service can't be beat and they really do stand behind their product.

Then when it was on the phone, it looked quite nice but was so bulky that my phone would no longer fit in my running arm band or my bag. I decided to return it.

Everybody already knows that the Defender is the one to get for max protection so not much to say on that front--just look at the demo's all over YT of phones being tossed out windows. Some folks were wondering why the new Defender boxes are screenless. I think that's great because everybody has their own opinion about which screen protector to get. Think about it. Do you want your pants to come with a pair of shoes? No, you pick them separately. Paired this case with the new Amplify antiglare glass (the best). iPhone 11 charges perfectly on the Otterspot wireless right through the thick case.

I have been using defender otter boxes on all my devices for the last 15 yrs from blackberry to iPhones and iPads. They do the job well. We have dropped, sat on, and even dropped out of pocket while ridding the motorcycle and got ran over by car behind us and never had devices damaged while using the defender otterbox. They have all come with the screen protector attached. Until now. The case cost is the same (or even a little more but now I am required to add a $50 screen protector if i want the screen covered. And it does not cover the entire front of the phone. It leaves about a 1/16 inch gap all the way around between the case and screen protector. Allows dirt and whatever to build up in the gap. The only reason I decided to go ahead and pay the extra $ for less this time is because of previous experience with otterbox. We will see if this new “ screenless “ option lives up to its predecessors. Personally I feel like someone found a way to make more money for the same product.

The last one was on my iPhone 8. 5 years of abuse, mostly work related and still the phone looked new once the case was removed. Unlike most covers that are hard shell, and suck, this is made of a non slip material, almost like a soft rubber. Great case for the money, and it's bright colors make it easy to find.

So far, this case has been very durable and is saving my screen protector from any cracks. I love that this case covers everything but the camera and screen; the last one had a hole in the back that showed the Apple logo, as a result it got scratched and gathered a lot of dust, this one does not have that weakness. PROS -solid-built, well engineered case -great drop protection -not likely to collect dust easily at all CONS -does not slide easily into pockets

The reason I was able to have the same phone for so long was because of OtterBox; it provided so much protection to my phone and really prolonged its life.

Every time I tried it somehow triggered the phone to call emergency services. Once, my phone actually called 9-1-1. The case came with no instructions so I watched a You Tube video to see if there were any tips. It didn’t help. I finally asked my trainer who is a very strong man and he struggled, but was finally able to snap it in. Buyer beware!

I am very disappointed that there is no screen protector. I am very hard on my phone as I am a field biologist and I need the maximum protection. I ordered a Mag Glass screen protector and it’s mostly right on. It leaves a small gap between the case and the screen protector which will collect dust and dirt in the field. I really wish you could make a waterproof defender case.

I oversee 21 medical residents that use one phone as the primary way for hospital personnel and answering service to contact our medical team. This phone gets handed off multiple times a day and is in use 24 hrs a day. Without the Otterbox case we would have been through multiple phones by now. It gets dropped, banged, clipped and re-clipped all day long. We just had to replace the one we had because we received a new phone. But nothing was wrong with the case. It outlived the phone!! and we had it for 2.5 yrs.

Today I was riding home from work on my Harley and had it clipped to my side. I was listening to music through earbuds and at about 60mph my earbuds stopped playing. I pulled over to see what happened and my phone was gone! I knew it couldn’t be far. Apparently I hadn’t snapped it in the case well. I backtracked about 300 yards and found my phone in the middle of the highway face down. I’d already resolved it was obliterated. It had to be. My earbuds connected when I rode close so I knew it was working still. I picked it up and rode home. When I got home I opened the case and found there was not a break, scratch or dent on the entire phone. Just like new. I honestly couldn’t believe it. I’ve had otterbox products for years and I know they work but I’ve never seen one perform under circumstances that extreme. Thank you for an excellent product.

A couple of days later I dropped mine, the Otterbox and screen protector saved my iPhone but the screen protector cracked into pieces. It did its job but at $35 I can’t replace it for a while.

This case is so good I didn’t need insurance on my phone & I told everyone. So getting the iPhone 11. Of corse I went for the defender. & found out that it doesn’t have a screen protector. That was one of the things I liked. Was having a my phone completely protected. Don’t get me wrong. I still think the defender series is one of the best phone cases ever & worth every penny but I do have that one criticism.

No words; only pictures, and confusing pictures at that. I finally succeeded by trying to jam the phone into the case when lo and behold! The case separated into 3 pieces! Putting the phone into the case then became easy.

A few comments for a better user experience: - Installation instructions are poor. I had to call Otter customer service who acknowledged assembly difficulty and finally told me to watch a YouTube video. The video answered all of my questions. In my view, get rid of the inadequate paper instruction provided with the case and just reference the url for a YouTube video on the product packaging. - I assumed a screen protector was included with the Defender case. I had to buy and order one separately. For a product in this class, it would seem most customers would want/need a screed protector. LifeProof bundles this way with their Nuud cases where the case does not offer screen protection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Safe case! I love the Otterbox defender cases. I had my iPhone 7 for three years and the otterbox defender kept my phone like new. I am thrilled to haunt new iPhone 11 safely protected. I love the flower pattern on the back of the case. Some people consider the defender cases a little bulky, but I know my phone is safe and secure. I love it! I did purchase the separate cover for the screen because this case doesn’t come with the plastic face cover.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Design Bought Realtree design because seems to be easier to locate if dropped or misplaced. Former Otters seem to let dirt in but so far this one is good. Still think is best one.
