Great protection but terrible screen glare.
The Defender comes with its own screen protector, not an anti glare one. If you are using it for your flying your drone you will not be able to see the screen very well and on a sunny day the screen acts like a mirror. Indoors it is fine.

Very Good Case
The Otterbox Defender series is one of the best on the market in my opinion. They really do protect your devices. I have had one on all of my iphones and ipads since day one and I have never regretted it.

Most reliable and durable
This is my fourth Otterbox Defender case. I have been using Defender with all my iPhones and now with my new iPad Mini 5th gen. With this case I don’t have to worry all the time and I can trust the durability of Otterbox Defender and just use my pad and phone too.

Very Robust
If your looking for ruggedness then this for you. Comes with additional hard cover/reading stand which tends to make it overall bulky but ideal for travelling. Around home I tend not to use it. Screen cover works well and for me makes gestures easier and less prone to accidental selection. The only criticism would be the fitting instructions in particular how to get it apart. I could get by the first bit bit according to their online video but a YouTube search finally solved it by suggesting using credit card to prise apart. Also not designed to quickly remove. Overall is exactly what I wanted

Perfect iPad Cover
I purchased this case for my new iPad Mini and it is awesome! Not only does it protect the entire iPad but the adjustable stand allows you to set it on a table for viewing. Remember to clean the iPad before installing the case, especially the screen.

Instructions?
I really like the Otter Box, however there should be instructions that explain how to take it apart and then reassemble. I should not have had to go to utube to find out.

It’s the maxi pad for your mini device.
Your device receives the maximum protection via plastic frame and rubber gasket. Gives a great bounce for those with nonsticky fingers.

minor quibble
my unit did not seem to come with instructions so I had to consult YouTube. Well initially frustrated with getting it on my iPad, it suddenly sort of popped on and now I feel I can take my mini anywhere, so yes, I would recommend it

Finally not afraid to use my iPad
I drop devices a lot. I've got a galaxy active for this reason - so when I picked up an iPad to fly with, I was so terrified of smashing the screen I hardly used it.
I knew I wanted an OtterBox when I got the iPad, however this case hadn't come out yet. I signed up to be emailed when it was, however this required me to subscribe to the promotional email list as well which seemed unnecessary.
It's easy to assemble, comes with a lens cloth, and has great protection. The screen protector is full seal, and the touch ID works too! I had a previous OtterBox for an iPhone which had a hole for the fingerprint sensor and dust would always get stuck under the edge, so this is a great improvement.
The silicone skin was a little difficult to pull on and off the edges, however a flathead screwdriver would probably help.
All in all, this is most likely the best case for the iPad mini 5, and I'm very happy with it!

Fantastic protection
I bought this because my old case let my iPad shatter completely. Not a piece bigger than 1/2”. I feel very comfortable with this case. The system for reading in a horizontal position is good but not great. The only complaint I had was their instructions for equipping it for the first time are very bad. Basically they direct you to a utube video that does not allow you to actually see what they are doing.

Love otter box
If there was rubber gaskets around the camera and holes I’d give it a 5 but at least once a week I have take my case off and clean the screen. Other than that otter box is perfect

Pencil holder
You need to somehow engineer the new case for mini iPad 6 able to use the power up features for the Apple Pencil and easy to use. That would ultimately make the product 5-star plus.

By far the most indestructible case I’ve owned!
I bought my otterbox after I had to replace my IPad mini because it dropped and my glass shattered. The new Defender case has it’s own clear shield built in for protecting the glass. The shell is made out of sturdy black plastic and virtually indestructible!

Better than previous versions
This is 4th iPad that I have owned and three of them had a Defender case. This one is by far better than the previous versions. The edges are grippy, which makes it easier to hold with one hand. I don’t like “naked” iPads. Just too slippery. This is the ultimate protection. The pencil holder is also a nice touch. Every thing is one small package to take every where.

This is my third purchase of an ipad otterbox case. They provide excellent protection and hold up well to abuse. These are expensive though as compared to other options.
