Definitely worth the money. Otterbox rocks!!! It was worth waiting for. I bought my iPad back in March & immediately knew I wanted an otterbox case to protect it. Unfortunately otterbox did not have cases yet. I waited until August when they started releasing limited quantity.

It’s extremely difficult to find a mini jack to 1/4 inch adapter or lead, to go out to my power amp. I am a music teacher and am mainly using an iPad in a teaching setting. Generally a mini jack to 1/4 adapter is to big to go in between the cut out in the otter box. That’s the only disappointing thing about the otter box.

I got it replaced and as soon as this case was available I bought it. I only trust otterbox. The case also has a stand so you can watch stuff hands free.

My only complaint about the case is that there are four clips that the iPad snaps in to. If you're not careful, the clip(s) will break off when you are trying to remove the iPad for use. We've had to replace a case already for this issue.

No worries about it falling on the gym floor. At home or at the coffee shop, i have four choices of viewing. Portrait/Landscape and High/Low angle. With the cover on (front or back), it’s a little bulkier than some others I’ve used, but worth it for the protection and flexibility.

But on November 2021, it exceeded my expectations when it saved my iPad from being destroyed in a major house fire. When I was finally able to retrieve my iPad, the device was in PERFECT CONDITION!!! In fact, I am writing this review on that very iPad. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Otterbox Defender Series for ALL my electronic devices.

So when I was given the IPad as a gift. it was the first place I went to. Got lucky and managed to catch it when it was in stock. Well worth the money. Besides the fit, the stand is very useful and works great. Same quality as with the defender for the phones. Just overall a great product. As they say you get what you pay for and this is a wonderful product. Some complain that it makes a device more bulky, but I would rather have that and the protection it provides.

I love it. No complaints. The touch screen is responsive. The stand is useful and snaps on easily as the cover when I'm done using the iPad. It's sturdy and I like the feel of the grip. I bought a different case for protection, but I didn’t like the screen protector, I didn’t like how the screen protector seemed to be the only line of defense for the front of the iPad and was held together by clips on said screen protector. Now, with the otter box defender, it feels like my iPad is a tank.

The only reason I didn't give the case 5 stars is the hard plastic cover is a bit hard to get off. It could be because it's new. But the older case had a bit more leverage to get it off. That said I'd still highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EXCEPTIONALLY WELL MADE! I've owned two Otterboxes, one for an iPhone 7 and one for an older iPad and this 5th/6th generation Defender Series case is the best one so far. The iPhone 7 and older iPad Otterbox appeared to have screens that were not that interactive. Those gadgets were my son's as is a new 6th Gen iPad. So far, he loves this 5th/6th Defender Series case. It's light, the grip feels just great and he's not constantly worrying that the iPad might slip from his hands. The cover/stand gives great protection when he places his iPad in a backpack. My son loves to cook and the stand feature allows him to set himself up with his iPad in the kitchen or on the go. And the Apple logo on the back sets the Defender case apart from other cases of less quality.

I put a screen protector on my device first because the cover won’t protect it from cracks just dirty hands and scratches. Very durable and the stand is a perk! If you are using your iPad in a rough environment, high risk of dropping it, out in the weather -- then it's for you. Using mine mostly at home, it was way too much cover for me. I looked at some cheaper “kids” cases but after scouring reviews, I came to the conclusion that you get what you pay for in terms of protection. I have always used OtterBox cases for my phones & knew the iPad case would be high quality. It has not disappointed! Haven’t dropped it (yet) but it’s handled well traveling. I like the stand—it’s easy to use.

Water is the only enemy, but it is easy to take apart the defender quickly and dry your device. Defender has minor aesthetic flaws due to Otterbox's lack of quality control, like one larger corner or their answer to the fingerprint cover. These flaws do not sacrifice the primary objective for my purchase; two years solid years of repeatable protection. Thank you Otterbox for saving me countless bucks due to damage. Customer for life.

I’m a firm believer in these cases for their durability of the outside case wrapped in a silicone sleeve and added protection from the built in screen protector. I use the stand on the couch lying down with it in my lap and it really stays put. If holding it up, it is so much more comfortable than holding the slim iPad. It is so worth the money! It is heavy, but you get used to it in a couple of hours. The grippers on the bottom will not slip off a table, you cannot even slide it, you have to pick it up, Amazingly safe for your tablet. I cannot stress enough how great this protection is. I dropped my iPhone defender once on a concrete floor and it had NO damage.

I put it on my tablet and recently dropped my iPad against an end table. The fall damaged my Otterbox screen protector but the iPad itself is just fine. It makes the iPad a little bulky but the protection is worth it! I love the stand that is included as well if I want to prop up my iPad to watch a show or even to adjust it while reading to prevent glare, etc..

The Otter Defender gives me the confidence to manipulate my iPad on the road, but also while working on any hard surface floor. Is a perfect fit for the 5th Gen, it turns the device into a sturdy instrument with good grip. Is a little too expensive (almost 22% of the cost of the device).

With the defender, I feel confident that my iPad will be safe even if I drop it. It gives me peace of mind. It has saved me through many falls and bumps and I wouldn’t use anything else to protect my phone. So when I received an iPad Gen 6 for Christmas I didn’t hesitate to purchase an Otter Defender. It was very easy to assemble and my iPad fits more snug than a melted marshmallow sandwiched between a chocolate bar and two graham crackers in a s’more! I use my iPad a lot while sitting in my recliner and the rubber-like material of the Defender case keeps my iPad from sliding around while I’m typing. It’s also great for keeping in place when my dogs decide to join me on my chair. Already the case has saved my iPad from certain death when it has been pushed off my lap and onto the floor. While the Defender might seem a little bulkier than some of the other flip cover/folio style covers, I won’t have a panic attack wondering if my iPad is doomed because it took a tumble while the cover was opened. Although I’m sure neither the s’more nor the Otter Defender have a lot of nutritional value, I know the Defender will provide me longer lasting safety and peace-of-mind for my iPad than a s’more.

These cases are rugged and durable. My most recent purchase was for my Generation 6 IPad. Besides being it’s “protector”, this cover has other features to make using my IPad easier to use. I like products that perform as they are advertised and do it well. That is what Otter Box products do.

Recently I purchased the Defender iPad cover, it is versatile, durable, has built in stand that is solid and hard shell acts as both a cover and stand or backing if holding in your hand. Definitely worth the money.

Knowing how well protected my iPad 2 was protected in an otter box case, I purchased another one for my new iPad 9.7. It’s much thinner than the iPad 2 version. And with the case being so easy to open, I fear that my son will have the case off within a week. And then he will have a cracked screen or worse, a dead iPad

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finger print recognition The only issue - my IPad rarely recognizes my finger print even after I’ve entered another finger print. Not sure if it’s me, the IPad or the case. Didn’t have much of an issue with the previous case I had for the same IPad. Regardless, it’s not that big of a problem and I will purchase another Defender when needed.

I did my homework on the most expensive case this company had & ordered it. The case is a bit bulky and the design was not thought out too well. The two possible screen angles it has are not helpful enough for teaching musical instruments online. Also, I might mention that I am being plagued with emails to rate this item even after I unsubscribed awhile ago. I do not enjoy emails not being pursued by market research people. Thank you.

This Otter Defender is perfect for protecting from that because it doesn’t require folding a cover over it to protect. Really glad I bought it.

I went through several iPhone cases from other manufacturers before I bought the otter case; 2 years later, it is still looking good and protecting my phone from the elements (and drops too!). Now I have them on my wife’s phone, my grandsons phone and most recently my iPad. love love love the iPad defender case... great protection and a pop out stand, perfect for table top or a late night movie in bed. It significantly changes the appearance of the iPad but the trade off is that she will be able to pack it in her travel bag or let the grandkids play without worry. We have several Otterbox products already and have never experienced any damage to our iPads and iPhones, even though my son once dropped an iPad all the way down our stairs (and I think it bounced off every one).

It is not cheap, but it's not made cheap either. You get what you pay for and with this case, you are getting top quality. I highly recommend this case and would buy it again in a heartbeat. Dust, mud, drop hazards, etc. I may pass it around to other people on site as we inspect. This case is great protection. If it rains, I can slide it into a 5 liter waterproof bag from sea to summit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best case to keep your iPad in pristine condition I’ve had my iPad in this case since 2018, I only took it out to look at the model number and my iPad still looks like it did the day I took it out of the box. This is well worth the money spent! I have cleaned the actual inside of the case once in the four years I’ve own it. The hard case stand broke about a year ago (toddler casualty), but other than that the case has held up very well.

It was the correct style for my iPad but I found the vinyl gasket that fits around all sides not tight. Gapping in places. Therefore the outer cover would not fit snugly. I have had Otterbox cases for my phones and never had an issue. I was expecting the same.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality of the screen protector I have had numerous Otterbox defender cases for both my iPhones and iPads, they were perfectly protection during my military career. Unfortunately, with the last three cases I have noticed that the quality of the screen protection has severely diminished. It is Very easily scratched or marked and I often find dust, dirt, or other foreign items between the iPad screen and the Otterbox screen. Unfortunately I would no longer recommend.

Spent a half an hour with a representative on “chat” and was told that I would get an email in one to two days with QR code for return. A week and a half later: no email. Unacceptable.
