Netgear Support Could not Make it Work
The hotspot would not work and I had to send it back after Netgear support, AT&T support, and a local employee of a computer fix-it establishment could not get it to work. I'm pretty sure there wasn't anything wrong with it, just nobody who should have known how to make the product work could do so.

Better than nothing
We have poor cell phone service where I live , sometimes 1-2 bars on cell phone. Download speed varies a lot on the Nighthawk, anywhere from 3 mbps to 30 mbps but the upload speed is very seldom 1 mbps. The battery does not seem to hold a charge very long when not being used and if you leave the battery in and the power supply plugged in while using it gets very hot and does not work very well. It is a little better than the Verizon dsl i have been using.

The MR 1100 is a really powerful addition to those of us who travel and need access to the internet. I would give it 5 but the help line support during installation was poor. Having said that I figured it out myself in 30 minutes.

In the country with a decent cell signal, this little device performs much better than satellite systems at a lower price. Watch those government taxes though. They eat you alive as always!

My MR1100 2A1NAS works really well. With a medium gaim omni external antenna, in a poor reception area, I still get plenty of data speed. I now have Wi-Fi, and can connect with USB, or a Ethernet USB adapter, or direct with Ethernet!!

Great for my situation
I’ve been using the M1 for about 18 months as primary internet for a rural cabin. I get 3 bars from the tower and the speed is usually about 8 to 12 mbits/sec which works for zoom calls or streaming on Netflix. It’s been a great way to get high speed internet that would otherwise be impossible. I did have to replace it recently and bought another M1.

I bought this 1 year ago and because of the lousy service, it has been sitting in the box for the last 5 months. The unit doesn't show your usage as it states, it does not work while travelling and it always shows 1 device connected, even when NOTHING is connected. Don't waste your money. I only gave a 1 star because there were no less ratings.

Reception isn't as good as I would like. I've tried moving it to several different areas of my cabin including outside. I never get more than 2 bars but average is 1 bar. I've called to try to replace with a different netgear but they wouldn't do it.
I've had it for 6 months but I'm not there daily so I wasn't able to tell if it worked well till after a few months. But it's better than nothing.

Perfect mobile router
I use the NetGearNight M1 mobile router, when I’m at work or on the go. It’s small and lightweight enough to carry anywhere. My favorite aspect is that wherever I may be, either in the waiting room at the doctors office or a restaurant waiting on my food. I live in rural Michigan. There are no cables out here to cut. The choice for internet is dial up phone modem, or a dish in the yard, until now. There is a world of difference between cellular and dish radio signal. No comparison. When I lived in town and switched from dial up to fiber optic municipal, I felt like “Now I’m drinking from a fire hose”. With my M1 MR1100…. rainy days I have internet, I have TV. I live in a real world, No more irritating pause while the page loads, or the tv signal cues up. I love i!

Well worth the price. So easy to use and I'm happy that it's capable to do 5g downloads once it's available. I'm able to stream Netflix currently in 4K with no buffering and download Xbox games overnight all through my AT&T cell plan!

The nighthawk is the best hotspot that you can use. Has long battery run time and pulls in the wifi service without a problem. You can add a flash drive or micro sd card and charge a device. Take it with you anywhere you have service with 2.4ghz & 5.0ghz what more can you ask for. Try the nighthawk MR1100 you wont be sorry unless you are using something else.

Wow this is faster than my home internet that we no longer subscribe. Had trouble with speed slowing down as we live out in country with limited choices. If you live in rural area this is the way to go. Go to EBay and get unlimited data. Works great out of the box. Just have one little issue. Not much of a range when trying to connect multiple devices. The range is about 15ft. Bought a range extender to increase the range. It has TS-9 connectors which are flimsy at best. Doesn’t seem to do anything for the range. Out of the box is great, but good range.

Warning if you are switching to TMobile
Have been using this for 2 years with ATT sim card, my isp discontinued att unlimited data plans, so I had to switch to TMobile sim and it will not connect at all. I changed the APN settings to the correct ones they did a system refresh on the sim and changed to static IP but still will not connect. I would not buy this product for use with TMobile pink plans. My ISP said this is an ongoing issue, some work and some don't. Mine is unlocked and should work. Tried sim card in my neighbors different router and it worked fine, so the issue is with this nighthawk router. Prior to that it worked fine, however the one we had before that stopped working and would constantly reset, so I was not able to even attempt a factory reset because the dam thing wouldn't stay on long enough.

Needed a Hotspot for our rv for work on the road and the NETGEAR Nighthawk M1 Mobile Router (MR1100 has far surpassed my expectations so far. Anxious to try it in remote areas when boondocking to see the reception and will update my review at that point. Well worth the cost of it over cheaper ones. The reviews sold me, and I totally agree with the raves! Set up was tricky, but it was an ATT new line issue. Otherwise, I have no complaints!

Works good but after 1 year, random reboots!!!
Worked good for 11 months, now it has random reboots and disconnects. Sometimes none in a day, sometimes 6-10 reboots. Wish Netgear would answer me but the are ignoring my messages on getting getting a new charger

My internet here is terrible, and the apartment owner refuses to upgrade even with me being willing to pay for it. With this though I can have my own personal internet. It's literally the best!

Good LTE Router
Product is very easy to set up and works good. The only issue that I have is the 20 device limitation. I use the router for home internet connectivity with all connections coming thru the ethernet port but I still seem to be limited to only 20 devices access the internet at a time.

Netgear Nighthawk M1
I just acquired this router a month ago, and it has been on everyday since. I use it in my RV and depend on it to give me the wifi connection I must have. I use a pair of TS9 antennas to give me the maximum signal because we are not parked in a neighborhood. I'm currently using it plugged in with the battery in, but have read it is possible to plug it in without the battery. I have to do more research. Thanks

Very Reliable!
I have been using a hotspot that I purchased from Verizon, as they are my wireless carrier, and often had trouble getting signal in areas that I get great signal on my phone. After getting fed up I purchased the NETGEAR Nighthawk MR1100 on whim at a local AT&T store and this thing is awesome!! Great signal all the time, and everything connects without any issues.

Useful and Convenient
This unit is small enough for travel, and fast enough to do anything with proper cell phone coverage. The only issue I have had was if a bad patch of firmware gets released. Other than that I don’t have any complaints.

Great Idea, but slow download speeds on AT&T SIM
I recently purchased the Nighthawk mr1100-100nas and, while I liked the concept, I was only receiving download speeds of up to 1 mbps and upload speed of about .25 mbps at the highest. I currently have a prepaid AT&T SIM card installed, and I’ve tried switching band channels from dual to 5.8Ghz, moving the position of my router, making sure the firmware was up to date, changing the WiFi range from long to short, and rebooting the Nighthawk entirely.
After many other adjustments and attempts I was still only able to achieve downloads speeds of up to 1mbps. I took my Nighthawk back to AT&T, but they only swapped out the SIM card and informed me that there wasn’t much that they could do from their end.
Solution
After further research it appears that the IMEI for the Nighthawk mr1100-100NAS (the one I bought
from Amazon is not issued through AT&T and is not authorized for LTE service, like the Nighthawk mr1100-1A1NAS and mr1100-1A2NAS that AT&T sells. I hope this helps potential buyers make the correct purchase when looking at the different models of the m1.

I recently received my nighthawk M1 and immediately put it into action. I have a mesh system in my house and outbuildings which contains 12 pods to help boost my internet throughout my property. The Nighthawk seems to be working as advertised with the mesh system and supports all my computers and phones as well. Netflix and Amazon prime have no problem streaming. In total I have 18 items on the network at any given time and the Nighthawk handles the load effortless.

I was so excited to try the Nighthawk M1. The description on Amazon said for Verizon. I brought it to my Verizon store for the sim card and they said it does not work with Verizon. :(.. Net gear customer service was amazing but, said it would not work.. Please make a Verizon version.

Reliable WiFi Connection
A reliable WiFi connection is important to someone who travels in their RV. Reliability is not always the case with campground WiFi connections. The Nighthawk M1 connects all of my devices with ease. Printer, laptop and two mobile phones all connect with ease. I utilize the option to remove the battery and power the device with the power cord. I’m very pleased and definitely recommend the Netgear Nighthawk M1 Mobile Router as an inexpensive solution to staying connected with WiFi.

I just ordered this and set it up with T-Mobile. The set up was very easy. Did a couple speed tests so far and love that I finally have upload speeds. Why I am asked to review a product I have owned for only 48 hrs is weird to me. It’s like ask in six months when I have really had a chance to use it in the field.

I could not run my internet dependent business without the Mobile Router. Working from a sailboat where no antennae are allowed on the dock pilings, I was unable to access the internet. I tried a hotspot with my phone but it was undependable. The Netgear mobile router saved the day and enabled me to continue my business with very reliable internet service.

Set up issue/support

Complete bust for anything but computers & phones
As an IT professional, I had high hopes for this router - perfect package size, low power consumption, and decent speed. I wanted to set it up to monitor a remote Wi-Fi connected camera and wi-fi enabled power monitor (for a work truck. It was abysmal - I could not get most cameras I tried to even connect, the only one that did was Nest and the latency was so bad it was unusable. Like literally 10 or more seconds. Further - the router does not have DDNS - I can buy a $30 router and it has DDNS, why is it not standard on this device.
I think Netgear needs to make it clear that this router is for computers, phones, tablets only and that it CANNOT support most cameras and other wi-fi appliances . It also should be clear that it does not support DDNS and that the Arlo camera interface that it so call includes DOES NOT WORK. I literally tried for hours and could not get anything but computers, phones and tablets to connect. Super frustrating. I returned it to Amazon.

Router offers a wide array of options. Option not mentioned in manual: a long Cat6/7 cable connection from router to laptop allows router to be placed outdoors and receive best signal strength, giving laptop maximum download speeds.

For others like us who live in remote areas with limited internet options, this is a solid choice. It is much faster and allows many more connected devices than our previous ATT hotspot. Since, in our case, it is plugged in full time, the option to remove the battery so that it does not overcharge or heat up is a great option. Set up was easy and when I had a question, the customer service chat line was quick and helpful. Thanks NetGear.

Constant issues with randomly powering off
I “upgraded” to one of these through AT&T wireless and the experience has been pretty terrible. I have gone through 3 different devices, all with the same issue- the hotspot will randomly power off and on numerous times in a row causing WiFi signal to not work. Issue started within first few months of having device, this after previous mobile hotspot from different company lasted more than 5 years without a problem until it finally died, hence the need for a replacement. Would definitely not recommend one of these, especially if you are trying to use it with AT&T service.

My netflix has always been constantly searching so I tried hooking my nighthawk router up to it. I got 5g straight away and now watch netflix in ultra hd with no streaming issues at all. I now run my surface pro and my tablet off it as well and recieve a very good signal from any room in the house.

I ordered this hotspot from Netgear last week. When I received the "your purchase has been shipped" email, Netgear included the following copy in the email:
"Customers are responsible for tracking the package and being available to receive the shipment. The shipment is under customer ownership after it leaves the NETGEAR warehouse. Refunds or replacements will NOT be issued for lost or missing packages."
Netgear does not allow purchasers to specify a shipper, so if Negear's shipper choice does not provide secure shipping, leaves packages in insecure locations or anything else that results in the package not being delivered, the customer is responsible for the loss, not Netgear.
This policy is completely not up to the standards of the entire online retail sector. Amazon, for example, replaces items that Amazon has shipped and that are lost or stolen in shipping. It's regrettable that Netgear has an irresponsible policy on this issue and in particular, regrettable that its policy is not specified before customers make a purchase.
Just want to let everyone know since Netgear doesn't. If you definitely want this or any other Netgear item, you may want to consider purchasing it on Amazon unless you want to eat the loss if the item doesn't actually get delivered to you.

The NETGEAR Nighthawk M1 Mobile Router (MR1100 is the best WiFi router I’ve ever owned. I recently got WiFi service to replace satellite internet. I was surprised when I found that I got more than double the download rate compared to my previous service. So far it has been very easy to set up and use.

I have recently concluded my test of the Netgear Nighthawk M1 for our use at home and while away in our motorhome. It has passed with flying colors. It completely gives us the performance capabilities we require and the agility we desire with our frequent and lengthy motorhome trips. Equally important, it allowed us to “cut the cord” with essentially no compromise.

Latest Update a Huge Problem for Many
My Netgear is long out of warranty and service. The latest update of the MR 1100 has caused a huge problem for the past few months, it is now March 2021, and many people across the board according to all of the communities I have been reading for weeks now can no longer see their data usage and days remaining. I sent to requests to Netgear about this issue and no response. Now I see if I purchase a new device I also need to pay $80 for customer support. I think Netgear needs to take care of the devices already sold.

works great! was lucky to find LTE towers in my area. i did have a little set-up issue with the netgear app on my i-phone 7. it worked and turned on the nighthawk but wouldnt let me apply usage data info? had to use wifes android to complete set-up.

Life saver during distance learning
We live in an area where there is no service providers that provide coverage for internet. Distance learning requires internet service for Zoom meetings which we are now able to attend thanks to this reliable router NETGEARS Nighthawk M1 mobile router. In general very good, but hangs too often on start
I bought this device, because hp does not support built-in mobile network for my favorite notebook. First I thought it's the best mobile router ever and I was lucky with my choice. Kids an colleagues can work with my device. But then the Netgear Nighthawk M1 router started hanging on boot up. Let's say one to two times a week. Bothers quite a lot. This is not reliable.

Great connection and excellent battery life. Issues with the port forwarding, message feature and total data usage. The messages are not easy to read and delete. I ignore them now. Some issues with port forwarding when using the wired uplink/offload feature. Biggest issue is that the device loses track of data used each power cycle. Support has no idea what is going on and there is not way to reliably monitor usage, but I am not offered a new device. Was offered to send it in for repair. When traveling for work I cannot be without the connection for however long it takes them to figure out the problem.

Works just fine. But if you’re traveling and using hotspot for say the iPad. I does just fine on it’s own. But if a second device connects and starts streaming YouTube. The person watching Netflix’s will get slowed down to where pixels are not clear or if you’re watching a movie on Apple TV+ forget about it. It won’t even load. For some reason YouTube uses a lot! Or videos on Instagram or snap use a lot. Not as bad as YouTube. But other than that you can comfortably have 3-4 tv’s watch Netflix’s. Netflix works the best on this device. Just some advice if you are interested in buying the M1 for travel or home.

Great hotspot
This hotspot device works well for the purpose we bought it for -- as a replacement for our previous Novatel MiFi device, which finally died after 4 years, to give us wifi at home. High-speed or even slow-speed wifi is not available at our address through either of the local service providers or satellite as we live in a heavily wooded semi-rural area of Alaska. The Nighthawk M1 works off a cell signal, which fortunately we do have access to at home, to provide internet for multiple devices in our home (at least until we run out of hotspot data for the month, then it slows way down, and streaming anything becomes impossible). The device is dependent on having a hotspot plan and a sim card from a provider, which we already did when we bought it. It was easy enough to set up, though more detailed instructions would have made it even faster and completely stress-free. The Netgear website and device packaging says it is optimized for AT

My first Nighthawk malfunctioned by constantly restarting itself many times throughout the day. I spent an entire day on the phone with Netgear to get a warranty replacement. For the price ...
I guess I was expecting perfection. We are full time RVers and have struggled with internet while on the road for two years. Our last MiFi, from Verizon, was nothing more than a glorified paperweight. This is better, but not almost $300 better. I’m not techie, but it just seems to me that if I am in an RV park in a major city, I should be getting more than 2 bars no matter which window I put it in. Even when connected to the MIMO antenna, I’ll get 2 bars. But, like I said, I’m not a techie so maybe I just don’t understand how it works. Other issues: turning it on or off, I hold the button down for 3,5,10 seconds and nothing happens. Release. Try again. Usually on the 2nd or third time, when I’m drilling my finger down on the button like Goliath, the device turns on or off. I’ll plug it in to charge at night and sometimes I wake up in the morning to discover that it never really turned off and had been running all night. Come one now. For almost $300, please make an on-off switch that works. Another annoyance is that the MIMO antenna wires don’t securely plug into this device. You can’t really tell if they are secure or if they are going to fall out ... because sometimes I discover that one of the wires has fallen out. Anyway, it’s better than what I had for $10 per month from Verizon, but I was expecting more for the price.

Replaced a Verizon 7730L hooked to a MAP2n connected to a Netgear R6700 router. I was expecting all kinds of problems, but it all hooked up with very little help from me. I used the Web Browser interface for everything including password changes. The MR1100 unlocked is a very good product. I get two bars at best from Verizon so the MR1100 is doing it's job!

Great but batteries let them down
I have two MR1100's. As a fast, stable 4G modem cant beat them. But when plugged into pc or power permanently, the batteries only last about 6 months. The modem will not work on power only, if battery is taken out. Would be a ideal device if could slip the battery out and run permanently on power, then put the battery in for travel.

Great product with the right carrier
The Nighthawk MR1100 is a great unit. Unfortunately, when used through ATT, the settings are very limited. Needed to disable SIP for use with a VIOP phone. The normal settings menu will allow this if it's not a ATT unit. Netgear customer service was awesome when trying to help me with the issue, but once again, ATT had the setting blocked.

No Real Problems
Purchase and set up was pretty easy after watching You Tube instructions. The speed bar never illuminated and IP camera not connected so I called support to make sure all settings were correct. Had a little trouble with language barrier but in the end (1 hour later the camera started working but the speed indicator does not show any activity. No sure if that is normal or not.

Amazingly efficient..
I used to have a quite outdated WiFi modem and finally decided to try a new one. My main reason was that I bought a MacBook Air and I needed a reliable router. After the initial setup of the new Nighthawk my MacBook, my cellphone, my camera and my washing machine started to work flawless. What a difference in the performance I encountered thanks to Netgear.

Simply the BEST
When it comes to internet for the ones who have little or no choices this is the best. Been using one for more than 2 years and never less than 30Mbps down and 4.5 up. Before that it was 1.5Mbps down and .5 up. So if you have a cell tower near you give this a try.

Perfect for remote deployment
I ordered this after I found out I’d be deployed to a rural area with limited internet provider options. I couldn’t rely on my mobile hotspot because I have multiple smart devices that need to work when I’m out of the house. It was surprisingly straight forward to order brand new and unlocked unit on Amazon and activate it on a prepaid data plan. The large and descriptive screen is easy to understand. Controls are simple with only a single button. Great battery life! I like it a lot.

Great hotspot but broke after a year and 1 month
I loved this WiFi hotspot. When my wife was in and out of the hospital due to cancer, I had to find a reliable and secure way of connecting to the internet for work, gaming and Netflix for my wife in the hospital. Found this hotspot and and it was amazing. I was able to directly connect my gaming system with an Ethernet cable for lag free gaming at the same time streaming movies for my wife. Did this for about a year being in the hospital. But then one day, I tried turning it on, got stuck on the netgear logo and was not able to make it work again. I was bummed spending 300 plus dollars on a hotspot that broke after over a year.

Just got my NETGEAR MR1100 set up. It was easy to set up. I love it so far. I like the ability for administrative access from my laptop or the app . My wife used it the first day at an off site meeting with a client and it was smooth!!

The coverage area of this unit isn’t as good as I was hoping my old unit had better coverage area. The reason I needed a new one was the old one didn’t have an Ethernet port and could only handle 10 devices.

This device works great for our rural internet. It is easy to use and monitor. We live in a remote area with only one carrier available for cell service. We have not traveled with it because of Covid19 so cannot vouch for that use but all in all we are happy with our purchase.

Big things small package
I was surpised how well it worked even in 4G. I can barely tell its slower than high speed cable internet. I only give it 4 stsrs because the Wifi signal only covers an short distsnce. I boosted the signal with the nighthawk router and the signsl covers my whole house

I really want to rate this a 5 star but...
I tried two different carrier SIM cards and they both do the same. I do a speed test, and it jumps up to about 11mbps and then goes down to 6. I insert the same SIM cards in my phone and they both go over 100MBPS. This device is awesome but it is pricey for the speeds I am currently getting. I've searched everywhere for a solution. I have 5G in my area with ATT and Tmobile. Please help!

Nighthawk Will Not Turn On - Known Issue
The Nighthawk 4G LTE Mobile Router (MR1100) Will Not Turn On. I searched the web and it is a common issue, a known issue. Netgear is addressing the issue. I used the devise maybe 2 days out of a month when I traveled. I have owned it a little over a year so the warranty has expired. I would advise others not to buy this device. Based on my experience and everything I have read, The Nighthawk has a shelf life of 1 year.

Nighthawk... Not for me!
Device does not allow access to the Cloud Ports 3387 and 7890 are blocked in contract with AT&T. If you are expecting to use this to access Quickbooks on the Cloud, or other Cloud based uses it will not work.. Also, the most I ever got was 31Megs down/.87Megs up. This device may work satisfactorily if you are simply using it for streaming Netflix or YouTube. Jitter was high at over 50 and latency was around 87, which is also high. Works good for streaming but don't expect to send an email.

This unit acts as a mobile personal WIFI hotspot utilizing cell signals, which provides us with internet service with Full Dual-Band / Dual-Concurrent Wi-Fi for up to 20 devices. The best part of this device is that it can offload data via an existing Ethernet network port or existing Wi-Fi connection, which converts this mobile router to act as an additional access point to an existing Ethernet port or an existing Wi-Fi network.
The battery can last for more than a day with regular use, but this device can also be powered on via USB C with the need for the unit’s battery needed to be inserted. This feature helps to retain the battery life.

I've only been using the Nighthawk mobile router for one month but, so far, it has been stellar! It was easy to setup service (T-MOBILE) and I was running two devices in less than ten minutes. I got the Nighthawk primarily for travel so I will it to the test on the road in a few weeks.

Bricked after an update
I loved this Hotspot. However, after an update that was automatically pushed by netgear or the service provider my hotspot became inoperable. It cycles through a bootloop and then turns off. I've tried trouble shooting myself and with netgear support and nothing can be done. I was asked to buy a new one. Not happy that their update was forced and is the cause of the device no longer working.

Currently have Verizon - much to my dismay, they tell me it's only 3G. Then informed per Verizon Rep: re: Nighthawk M1 Router. Unfortunately that model is not slotted for use on Verizon. IT said they cannot add it to our device database (they said Netgear did not provision that model for Verizon. PLEASE HELP!! I believe if able to use would deserve a much better review and I'd like that opportunity!!

Perfect mobile internet solution
I recently purchased Netgear Mr1100 hotspot that can accommodate using almost any SIM card. Getting decent speeds and signal even without using the antenna ports, but will be upgrading to a MIMO flat antenna to increase to even more signal. Admin app on my iPhone is straightforward and easy to use as well. Glad I purchased this device to use while camping in our RV!

Installed my phone chip. Got much faster speeds than when I was using a phone for the hot spot. Still allowed me to transfer the line number to my other cel. Plugged the ethernet port into another device and now it is connected nicely. Happy with this router so far.

Very Unhappy Experience
I had great expectations for using the Mobile Router and found it very frustrating experience. It has a serious design flaw. I needed to open the Router to insert the SIM card and found it impossible to open. The design is terrible as you need to press your thumbs on the back on indicated arrows and 'slide' the cover off. However, the back only pushed against the metal edge of the device and could not be opened, rendering the device useless. NETGEAR was very good, to their credit, in providing for a device return and a full refund. I really wanted the router.

Admin Login does not work, would not recommend
I do not recommend this device if you want to configure anything at all. None of the admin login instructions work even with a reset. The default password, netgear app, web login all are nonfunctional. If you just want to plug it in and have internet, that alone works. If you bought it for business use with ATT, forget about the administrator login function, it doesn't work.

These devices work really well as long as att maintains their signal. ATT is the big issue with these. Great device but bad cell service. It would be nice if gaining remote access were easier. Still have not gotten that worked out yet... hopefully soon.

Well, it would connect with signal of two bars and before 2 minutes it would drop out. It would do this off and on for the next 20 minutes or so. Obviously, it was useless when it would drop out before I was able to complete a task. I read in other reviews that it was rebooting at this time. I don’t understand why it would unless there was a flaw. Would probably be a useful device if it worked consistently. Must be poor quality control to let so many get in the market. No! I could not recommend this product.

This is the second replacement. I was told I needed to update from my old Netgear router, this was what was suppose to be better. It is okay but not as good. Now I am told I have to wait for the towers to be updated for better service. Take your chance.

Great but - just one more thing
I am an Internet jargon novice. I bought two M1 mobile routers. M1 would get FIVE stars if it showed more than just the number of devices connected. It needs to show the name of the device connected and the IP address of the device connected.
I now know how critically important it is to see the name and IP address of each connected device. This may cause me to look for a different router. I really like the performance of the M1 over my former cell provider’s mobile routers.
This short fall of no knowing the name and IP of devices on the M1 screen may cause me to look for another device next time. I am a mobile router user, a novice to mobile routers and IP jargon, but I have quickly learned that knowing this much is critical.

I live in the country and tried everything to get reliable internet and the nighthawk hot spot is the only thing that’s worked. It Gets higher speeds than the satellite I tried and doesn’t cut out in the rain. I’m able to connect multiple devices without interruptions. It’s perfect. I only wish I’d known about it first before spending all the money I did on things that didn’t work. This is definitely worth every penny I spent which wasn’t much at all for all it does for me.

Update crashed the router on day 1.
Get the router that is pre-made for your service provider (will probably have service provider’s logo on it. I tried to set up this one with AT&T and it worked for about an hour before automatically running an update that froze the router. Despite best efforts and the assistance of Netgear support, it could not be fixed and I had to return it. I bought one that is pre-made for AT&T (has AT&T logo on it) and it has been working well.

NETGEAR Nighthawk M1 Mobile Router (MR1100)
one of the best decisions I made was to get this router. I live in the country and could not get a good internet service provider. I decided to go the prepaid route but needed a router and after doing an internet search I came across this router on other websites, but it was costly. I decided to check directly with Netgear and found it much cheaper. It was a rough start in the beginning with getting everything setup but after contacting tech support which there is access to for some time after the initial purchase I was able to get this router up and running. So far it's decent.
I'm making use of this router daily. The size is excellent (small enough to fit in your pocket and the router itself is very simple, with a single button on top, and readable screen that shows your gb usage and connectivity, battery life, etc.. It's very easy to use. The only issues I have with it are that it seems to overheat easily (even in an air conditioned room), and that the battery does not last all day. If it gets hot, it will not charge. So the overheating battery makes the battery drain lower, and you can't charge it if you need to (using for work) unless you manually cool it down (I'm using lunch box ice packs). There were some connectivity issues which I think were mainly lag and distance related. Overall I'm content with this device and really hope it lasts, and hope I can use it unplugged on a trip one day in a hotter area.

I have used 3 other mobile routers and the Nighthawk 1100 is the best by far. It never drops a connection or needs attention. Gets the job done with no fuss. But, it's dashboard cannot be accessed with my iPhone or through AT

It is an older model, but still gets the job done. Haven’t had any issues with the unit. Customer service is a different story. Called them to try and get them to walk me through a problem. They kept trying to force me to pay for an extended warranty.

Happy with hot spot
Had experience with Verizon mobile hot spot while traveling in an RV. So far, I’m very pleased with the Netgear Nighthawk M1 mobile router I purchased. I read a lot of reviews on the different mobile routers and this one was the one for me hands down. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a very dependable product.

Excellent performance I run over fifteen items in my house three of them items are being hotspoted everything dot out standing speed like m on my home router which I have Xfinity Comcast which is the fastest provider in sanfrancisco calif.exelent battery life for on the go.no were in the city I go I’ll receive signal every were I can be even on the under ground train called Bart train .it totally amazing.I have had three Freind’s of mind purchased one already. MR1100 performs well
I bought this last year so I could work remotely from my RV in the fall. It worked perfectly. The reason I selected this model is because it has an Ethernet port which I require for my phone. I’ve had no problems with it other than poor signal strength in some areas, but my phone has poor signal in those areas as well.

If you’re on the fence about this little giant, be no more.
I got this device about a month ago but it wasn’t until last week that I started using it. My experience up to this point has been fenomenal! Drove from South TX to Northern MN and never lost signal. Working from my RV has been a dream that finally came true. So fat so good/excellent.

Great Hotspot box. It runs a little hot when on charge so be sure to place it in a well ventilated spot. I Love this hotspot, it works exceptionally well. This is my second Nighthawk. I bought this one for the kids.

Nighthawk w MIMO antenna on 1 bar. Thk u Jesus
Without high speed internet for 6 & 1/2 yrs til this came along. Our personal hotspot worked better than Hughesnet, but it was all crawling speed. You have to get the right plan with a sim card from you cell company...a personal hotspot plan on a sim will be targeted & shut down. There's unlimited-limited and there's unlimited-unlimited. Got to pay ATT or Verizon more for the right sim card (we do a business plan for like $65 monthly), and it works wonders with 1 bar of reception.
A cell phone booster will not work for this like it does on cell phones. Our's did not and in fact slowed down our internet speed. To our knowledge you'll need at least 1 bar of service without a booster antenna. Then you'll want a MIMO antenna. MIMO is completely different than cell booster antenna although they look the same. Don't buy the MIMO laptop one from Netgear unless you can't mount a big one outside. Little laptop clip on Mimo antenna from Netgear works fine taking speed from 5Mbps to 10-20Mbps, but a big 2x2 MIMO antenna from Waveform will really increase your speed. With the MIMO external Waveform we went from about 5mbps to 50....sometimes 80. My only knock on the Netgear Nighthawk is that the input receptors for the MIMO antenna are weak. They do not hold the input jacks very well at all. You have to insert the bulky wired MIMO antenna jacks gently and position the little Nighthawk we're it doesn't move or the jacks will slip right out. It's a problem we happily deal with. Position your Nighthawk central to all wifi devices. The further you get away from it the slower the speed. It does work well though for the desperate. Thinking about cancelling our Starlink now.

Great little router
I needed a cellular router for my rural airplane hangar so that I could have security cameras. The Nighthawk M1 was up and running in a matter of minutes. I have had no issues in the first month of using it. The internal battery keeps my security system online even with a power outage!

Live out in the middle of nowhere. Strong 5G signal and router 4G LTE MR 1100 is rocking smart TV free movies and shows better than any satellite service i have ever paid for. Just waiting for opportunity to upgrade to 5G Nighthawk MR when I save up enough cash to make that deal. Easy setup. Netgear Android app lets me monitor everything going on flawlessly. This is a great little helper. Using it at a VRBO where there is no high speed internet. I m not a big fan of 5g so I like the option of being able to turn it off and only use 2.4g. But no way to do that. That said I also like the LAN port so those that stay with me that are doing work can plug in for even better performance

We have not been able to receive internet from any place until we found this device, it has brought life to us. I gave it 4 stars bc everything is great except i wish it had antennas that came with it to reach better signals at times. I’ve been using my M1 for a few weeks now, it works great for my remote job, because I live on a college campus and can’t interfere with the wifi on campus, I’ve had a couple small issues, but calling into Netgear’s support I was able to change a couple settings to fix the timing out issue and connections dropping issue. Highly recommend.

My new MR1100 router has been a dream to use. I have previously had set up, configuration, log in and mechanical/hardware issues with many different routers in the past. I had expected this to be a good router as far as function goes, which it by far and away is, however I also expected to have to fight through at least one of the issues mentioned above before being able to get to that great functionality. Boy let me tell you was I pleasantly surprised. The MR 1100 was basically plug and play simple and I didn’t have even so much as a mild hiccup when setting it up. No hair pulling, or crying or device throwing. All that to say, if there is anything that could beat the MR1100’s performance, it’s not another router, it’s the ease of set up and instillation. Both 5 star aspects of this router make it hands down the number one router from out of the box start up to blazing fast surfing the web.

The internet speed is good when it can actually stay connected for longer than 30 minutes. I can only go about 30 minutes while connected then it is like the internet just kicks me off and resets. I have tried to fix it many times still with no luck.

The Nighthawk is simple. A mobile hotspot with a ether cable port, USB and it comes with its own charger. This connection is strong and it lasts for days at a tune if need be. My own home internet connection isn’t as strong as the service Netgear provides.

Performance is amazing. I canceled my dish internet provider for the Nighthawk and it works 10 times better for speed, etc. The only issue I had was the set up information provided in the guide that came with the product, the mobile app or from customer service. None of those methods explained the need for a SIM card, activation and a separate data plan. Information for those very important items to make everything work was not clearly or properly explained.

i currently live in a area ran by frontier internet where it hard to do anything gaming logging onto work emails anything basically under the sun i was paying 70 for roughly 40- and 1- download and upload so this has changed my view on internet im now able to play games to relax and conduct emails and even watch tv for the best price of like $40 with 70 upload and 20 download

Works great. Perfect for a mobile or temporary office. Modem and router - ethernet and wireless. Ethernet your voip office phone and plug it into an inverter for full phone office functions in your car (for the passenger of course. You might be able to get it with unlimited data from a carrier for $10 to 20 a month.

Bought one to use with ATT (recommended by Netgear), had to call netgear 3 times, first 2 to be transferred to same low level technician who told me they were trasnferring me to the correct person twice, only to be told at the 3rd time that NETGEAR cannot fix it and needs to be taken to ATT to fix

Incredible Hot Spot
Picked this up as a back up to existing Wi-Fi in our new rig for full-time RV living which we start in a few months. Broke down after three years
I’m very disappointed with this device. It worked pretty well for about 2 years. During the third year the device started acting strangely. It restarted on its own in the middle of important things I was doing on the internet. Finally the device disabled wifi on its own and it would not let me enable it. While the device looks good cosmetically, it is basically an expensive brick. When I called netgear for help, they basically told me I had to get on a repair contract before they can troubleshoot the device for me. I feel like netgear is not willing to stand behind their product. I will not be purchasing another device from them again.

Had to haggle with ATT to get a better monthly cost on the SIM card. Their website showed the cost for 15 GB but they wanted much more until I told them that I have 3 cell phone lines and both ATT internet and phone at my home and office. They then offered to add only $20 a month to my cell phone bill which was much better than the $50 a month they wanted to charge.

Almost perfect!
Pretty decent LTE modem, fastest LTE modem that I have right now, very useful as backup internet or when you're working in a remote place. though the charger included in this modem is not a fast charger, this modem supports quick charge 3.0 OOTB (very cool, to charge a huge 5000mah battery.
One thing I hope about MR1100 is for it to support sending SMS because it is also important especially when I have to register data plans. Other than that, its an almost perfect modem for everyone.

The NETGEAR Nighthawk MR1100 is the perfect home and on-the-go hotspot router. I have used it to replace cable tv = WooHoo! And I take it with me everywhere I go. Grandma doesn’t have internet so this wonderful gadget has saved me from boredom so many times. Very easy to set up. The only issue I had was when I changed providers. I put in the new SIM card. There were instructions on the NETGEAR router screen itself telling me to go to a certain website to set up, but the instructions on neither the website or the app worked. I even tried their other recommended resources like the Community forum. It took me hours to figure it out. (and I didn’t want to pay a $100 for support. I finally went to the Manual and those instructions worked. Whew!

I like this hotspot. It was easy to set up. The only reason I did not give it a full 5 stars is that the WIFI coverage is limited so I had to pair it with some Netgear Wifi Extenders to cover the desired area.

No ability to send SMS
I rate it 2 star because one of the most important feature for me is to fully managed the sms, viewing and deleting of sms is not enough. Sending of SMS is very important if you have sms credits from your sim card or if you would like to top-up your sim for additional data through sending sms.

Problems using/accessing files via SMB (Finder/Explorer as NAS; conflicting info from tech support and user manual and marketing materials. Connectivity within LAN side frequently; Internet connectivity issues affect local WiFi persistence, requiring daily or more frequent router reboots. Expensive given poor functionality.

Netgear Nighthawk MR1100 home use
I am using my Nighthawk MR1100 for rural home internet. I live on top of a mountain 3.5 miles down a dirt road. I installed a rooftop signal booster to provide a better signal to the MR1100. I have managed to improve my cell signal from -115dbm down to -79dbm. Went from 1 bar to 4 to 5 bars signal.My download speed tops out at about 40mb/s. The Nighthawk MR1100 does well used as my home internet. It took a little ingenuity to boost the signal by way of mounting my signal booster to an old rooftop satellite dish, pointing the dish accurately accurately at the cell tower to better collect the cell signal, and focusing the collected signal on the signal booster. When I need internet on the go I can unplug the MR1100 and have mobile internet for travel.

Great hotspot! We now have great ATT service at the farm where we had very little before. Not only do we have WiFi calling, we also have internet and TV service that didn’t exist before the Nighthawk M1 was installed. Highly recommend for fringe cellular areas, solved all our connectivity issues.

*** FYI T-Mobile customers ***
I purchased an unlocked Netgear MR1100-100NAS late December 2019, that had some weird battery charging issues but nothing to be concerned about. Then Netgear released firmware version 12.06.08.00, I read the release notes and it stated there were minor fixes so I decided to upgrade.
The upgrade completely broke the LTE interface and I was no longer able to attach to T-Mobile’s LTE network. I thought no big deal, I’ll just roll back to the older version (12.05.05.00_00), but that did not work the unit kept generating an “Invalid update file. Error Code 16”. I tried to reflash with the latest code that might clear the issue but I the same error code. In summary I’ve tried the following to get the unit back to normal operation before reaching out to Netgear technical support:
1. Restoring to factory defaults
2. Reverting to firmware 12.05.05.00 via the Ethernet port
3. Reverting to firmware 12.05.05.00 via the Wi-Fi
4. Reverting to firmware 12.05.05.00 via the Wi-Fi Google Chrome browser
5. Reverting to firmware 12.05.05.00 via the Wi-Fi Mozilla Firefox browser
6. Reverting to firmware 12.05.05.00 via the Wi-Fi Microsoft IE browser
7. Removing the T-Mobile SIM then attempting to revert to 12.05.05.00
All failed with “Invalid update file. Error Code 16”, at this point I decided to open a case with Netgear support. After explaining the issue and repeating several of the steps outlined above, they stated that the latest firmware 12.06.08.00 has issues with T-Mobile’s LTE network and they had to ship me a replacement. This was bit of an inconvenience but not a big deal. After a few moments checking with the warehouse the Netgear support representative stated that the unlocked model (MR1100-100NAS) was currently out of stock with no ETA on the horizon. They had no alternative options to address my issue and my only option was to wait and hope that their stock would be replenished soon.
This was an extremely disappointing experience considering the cost of the unit and the inconvenience Netgear’s poor support for an issue their latest firmware clearly created. It also makes me wonder, what if my unit was beyond the warrantee time, would that just mean I’m stuck with a unit their firmware broke?
I would not recommend purchasing this product if you are a T-Mobile customer. Netgear’s firmware testing, quality control and support are poor. How could they miss such an obvious flaw with the latest firmware on T-Mobile’s network, it leads me be believe that the latest release was never tested on the T-Mobile LTE network.

Was a little hesitant at first because of mixed reviews. Our cell phones get good signals from our provider so that helped in choosing this device. I added this as an additional line and I am very pleased in the results. We had cable and it was not reliable along with being costly. This little device consistently gets strong signals and I am very pleased with the performance. Always have around 10 other devices connected and have no issues. Wish I would have found it sooner.

Works Great: Recommend instillation guide
I live in rural Texas with on consolidated for a provider. Their internet speeds were too slow so I purchased this and connected it to T-Mobile. The service worked great for 2 months but after it couldn’t connect to T-Mobile. After researching I found a guide that helped me change the band I was connected with as well as a different APN. Since then I have had no problems and steady connection. I can play games, stream, do schoolwork all at the same time. Our house has 9 people in it and at times we are all on the network with no problems. Great product and great solution to rural areas.

Best mobile wifi router used
This is the best mobile wifi router I have ever used (5th device purchased, it outperforms any router, have regularly connected 5 devices, sometimes up to 10 with no problems. I put on on the dash of my jeep when traveling and it performs well.

I bought this so that it could be easy to carry around when I need wifi for work, and I also bought it so my husband can use it for his gaming console, and they specifically say you are able to change the NAT type. I have looked every where on the router and the website it tells you to go to, and no where does it say you can change it, so now it’s stuck on a strict NAT type and I can barely do anything with it without getting kicked out of the wifi. Other than that, it’s an amazing little hotspot to use, unless you want to use it for gaming.

Exact APN Setting
Even though lots of information on ‘how’ to change the critical APN setting so the Nighthawk will work for ATT, there is ‘NO’ instruction in what the APN setting should be! No where on ATT website! Your ATT rep where not provided with the exact APN setting. We spent over 2 hours searching, calling the help desk. Eventually found a setting in an open forum. Not a good first time experience!

Fabulous performance and reliability. I purchased this brand new directly from the Netgear website, as a replacement for my old refurbished MR1100 which finally died after 3 years of heavy use. It would not power on anymore. It was delivered overnight to my house in New York City for about a $29 fee.
When I first powered it on, it immediately began downloading and installing the latest software update. This new version proved to give a stronger signal than my previous refurb, and is overall more reliable. I actually went to the AT&T store and got help to set it up on my existing hotspot account.

This device was highly rated on several sites, but when I have it plugged in, the battery overheats and stops charging. Then, it’ll run down and when our internet stops working, I have to go check it, unplug it and plug it back in to get it booted up and charging again.

Folks need to Know items - Read the Specs
Things buyer need to know:
#1 Read the instructions BEFORE you start the install.... the IMEI is inside the case, under the battery.
#2 if you intend to use this as an ALWAYS ON modem, do NOT install the battery, you will eventually destroy it.
#3 if you use it mobile, install battery and take the charger OFF when the battery is topped off.
#4 Follow the Instructions, and it works the 1st time, every time.
#5 if you intend to use this at home, always on, it is best to use an External WiFi Router and turn off the Internal WiFi.... why? the internal WiFi can become overloaded, especially when running SpeedTest. the modem will reboot, but it will stop other users from using WiFi. Using an External WiFi Router takes this problem away.... I can run SpeedTest on my 5g WiFi Router which is hooked to the MR1100 via the Cat5 cable, and it never bogs down.
#6 I have owned this for six months and it always works, even with only 1 bar of signal, I get 2-5Mbps down in worst Prime Time hours in the evenings.
#6 if this is a permanent install for your home, and if you have the access to do so, Please Install an External Antenna... I have the 9dBi Omni from Amazon... you will be much happier with the faster speeds.

bought it 6 months ago to use in my RV. Cell phone had very little reception but with the Router it has gone up. I don't regret buying the router. In some remote areas I could do with an extra antenna.
Setup was very easy, battery can last for 2 days if I turn it off at night.

One year ago we purchased the Netgear Nighthawk M1 Mobile Router (MR1100 and it was the best purchase we made! We were looking to expand our internet capabilities while camping and it did wonders for that! Also, we use it a lot at home. I have a job where I shop for and deliver groceries and carrying this router with me has been a GOD send for getting directions while making my deliveries! We HIGHLY recommend this router to anyone looking to be safe on the road with internet access and have internet capability when you are out camping or just driving in out of the way places! Great Device with Great Reception
I bought this device to use whilst camping and also to boost my home internet speed. Having used several mobile hotspots before, this is by far the best in terms of LTE bandwidth and therefore speed. It is also really useful to have the Ethernet port to easily connect it to you home network if required. The app also makes management of the device very easy from your phone.

Great idea for a hot spot device .. Still needs lots of work.. I have to make sure this is in a perfect spot so it doesnt overheat.. I am given messages to unplug device when charge is full.. When this goes to sleep.. I have to manually wake this thing up.. Really??? SMH.. Like I said.. Great idea.. needs lots of work to fine tune how it actually performs...

Mobile Router on Steroids
This device runs my 2nd home nest devices without problems. I’m using a T-Mobile hotspot plan up in Kirkwood, CA, and have had zero problems so far. The web interface and iPhone app allows me to make changes on the fly. The battery allows me to bring the device to places where wall power is not available and a Mobile WiFi device is needed such as a car or a home wo internet. Love it.

I’ve been without internet access for four days now. It turns out in the latest firmware update Netgear decided to delete a setup option to make the Ethernet connection always on. Kind of key to using the M1 as a modem don’t you think Netgear? Plug in a Cat5 cable and the M1 goes dark. I’m having problems with the battery too. Installed the battery and the M1 goes dark. Ok, I’m thinking the battery is dead. No problem, buy and overnight a new battery.... same issue. Not to mention the loss of income and time from no internet access for four days. It’s pretty sad when you have to rely on YouTube videos for tech support. So Netgear, firmware changes to delete a fairly important feature with no fix, battery charge issues make it go stupid, and no support. I have about $250 invested in useless, hardware with no support. I’m guessing I’m not going to win the gift card drawing. Thanks Netgear! NEVER again!

I’m sure the product itself works fine for what it is. It is not, however the product we were told we were getting - better hotspot than what our cell service offers. Unfortunately now we’re told it’s only as good (or as terrible as our cell service we have already which is virtually non-existent. In moving our office to the house now due to lack of work, we are needing better internet as DSL, U-Verse, cable, none of these are available to our country home. We are desperate to find anything available here that’s better than this God-forsaken satellite internet we have now.

We live in our RV about 5-6 months a year. Most parks we stay in have terrible at best WIFI. With out our M1 we would not be able to do banking, monitoring our vacant home and countless our daily chores. It's a life saver!

Doesn't receive or send strong signal
After about 6 weeks this thing has no usable signal, when it did work, I had to constantly reboot it to keep the signal strong. The reason I'm writing this review is because customer support is nonexistent, when you call, they hang up on you and when you wait for a call back, they don't call back. I just want a replacement so I can do what I need to do.

We use this at the lake, and it does work decent. We are however in a valley. On holiday weekends it hardly works at all because there are a lot of people at the lake. I am looking into upgrading to the next Nighthawk.

For the money, this hotspot rocks for traveling. Great range and 4 MIMO antennas + input for external - though that cuts MIMO in half - real 5G is still sparsely available, so until it is, there’s no reason to pay twice as much for a hotspot that can’t use the bandwidth yet.

Fairly easy to set up. Devices connect easily and work okay. The speed of the connection seems to depend on the cellular signal strength. Since I’m using this a lot in the boonies I’m lucky to get 1M down. I haven’t been able to find a portable antenna to use to strengthen the signal.
Devices stay connected over periods of inactivity, which is convenient.

I have been using this without any optional antenna and it has been good, although it shows the signal strength as Fair or Poor most times even while getting decent speed. I keep it plugged in most times so I have removed the battery in hopes of prolonging its usable life and I have been told that will work IF not many devices are connected to it since the power cord alone is under-powered from what I hear and can cause the the Nighthawk to restart, etc. I have not had any problems only having 2 devices connected and using short range setting on the wifi.

Easy setup, great speed, has features to allow it to be connected to a WIFI router and expand the network around the house. Would be 5 stars except it tends to disconnect during the night at times. We use it all the time so it is plugged in continuously (and battery removed so as not to overheat. A far better device than our old ATT MIFI Hotspot.

Bought this recently to get a different / faster internet service in a rural community. Live in a location where wireless or satellite internet are really the only options. Changing from one wireless provider to another to save $50 a month and went from 6 Mbs to ~20Mbs on average.

Bought the NightHawk over 20 months ago from AT&T and added it to our Family Unlimited data plan. We use the unit at our lake house to provide wifi service. Added a quick charge AC adapter and removed the battery. We have poor cellular service here at the lake house, however we are able to stream live tv and Netflix to our roku tv via the Nighthawk. I recommend the Nighthawk.

Awesome is not enough to describe it.
Had wanted this particular model of hotspot. When I was able to get one, I got 2. Have not been disappointed. I live in a somewhat rural area near an airport.
With the one I had before, I used to lose connection everytime planes passed over or even big trucks passed by with their cb radios. This one keeps the connection, no problems.The speed is great and so is the ease of use. I definitely recommend it. When I can, I will move up to the next model when I can afford to. But for now, this one is more than capable of handling my uploading and downloading needs.

Forced into 5G? This is a good option.
I bought this because AT&T "upgraded" me to 5G and now my service sucks, and they can't roll me back to an outdated plan. I use this hotspot now, forced into 4G Lte, and use my phone through this to get a better signal than I had before. Everything is now back to where it was before, but for a lot more money.

One issue I did have was that they were supposed to call me back and they didn’t but ultimately I did get my answers.

This is the 2nd one of these MR1100 Routers I've owned. The product is state of the art, has the ability of adding 2 antennas, truly works on all carriers currently running mint mobile, Netgear's customer service is 5 stars for sure. They are persistent in finding answers and calling back. In following up to be assured the question or concern has been addressed. I can't say enough good things about this company! They really have it together across the board.

I have been using this equipment for quite long time and although the reception has been very good (even for continuous streaming), the battery life is really short and unreliable making the system to practically be conectes 24/7 to the wall vía it’s electrical cord. The unit continuously shots down and / or reboots interrupting our internet connection and making it totally unreliable for work. If you forget your username or password for the app management ... forget it cause it’s almost impossible to retrieve it or reset it.

Awesome with a tiny livable flaw
Pretty amazing device. We live in a 2400 sq ft home and the only time we need to move it to stream is when we go to the basement. The only flaw I’ve found is that the device often overheats and will stop charging. I’ve started unplugging it at night to keep it from being so hot and that has seemed to do the trick. I plan to add a WiFi extender to our arsenal so we don’t have to move it around and it can sit in the best signal spot. This is our only WiFi in the house. We stream HD beautifully!

Because Netgear support is so hard to get on line or on the phone I took it to Best Buy Geek Squad. It took them about a 1/2 an hour to set up. Even though it's now set up it keeps disconnecting from the Internet. Even when I can get it connected it won't open steaming apps. I'm returning it.

Using the nighthawk
So far we have been using this for about a month now and while camping it is fantastic we are able to stream shows at night and at our home in the county where our internet is not the best it has helped as well.

Nice Hotspot but occasionally Drops Service
The router works well, was fairly easy to set up and holds a charge for a long time. My only issue is the fact that occasionally will lose service. It reconnects within a minute, but it’s still an annoyance.

Great Product
Like the option to go from 2G to 5G and offloading. Solid all day battery performance. Display is nice with battery life and basic connection details like number of connections. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is I wish you could set times to auto off instead of having to go into the app to turn the hotspot off every time. Please add this feature.

Nice portable router

I bought this to replace the old one thst i had for like 6 years. This one was so frustrating to set up. Im not an IT person. The last one i had all i did was plug it in. This thing disconnects constantly. Looks like it gets a great signal but unless im in the same room it is touch and go. I live rurally. My 10 year old hates it and ask me all.the time why I switched, begs me to get the other one back. It throws him off his PS4 constantly. We then have to manully reconnect. Its very frustrating. It says up to 20 things cam be connected. Thats wrong. We msy have 3-5 and it gives me constant trouble. I would love to send this back and get my .money back and go back to the box i had....like seriously!

Casual reboots
24 hours after using the unit it started rebooting randomly. Tried every suggested troubleshooting and solution, battery on/off, cable that came with the product, UPS, hard reboot. Nothing works. Seems that this is a common issue with the product, hundreds of reports and forum discussions.It renders the router useless.

A Campground necessity when traveling!
When the campgrounds get crowded on the weekends, cell towers in the area become congested and evening/nighttime streaming is almost impossible. Crank up the Nighthawk and in minutes we have a much more reliable and stronger signal. Holds a steady increased signal strength and allows for streaming Netflix, HBO, etc. with no dropouts or buffering. A must-have if you travel full-time and spend multiple weeks in fringe signal campgrounds. Highly recommend!

Life saving hotspot
I had to wait six weeks for an Internet connection to my new office, I purchased the nighthawk M1 mobile hotspot and hooked it up to my system and its working so good,…. I may even cancel my installation of the Internet!

So much better!
I live in the country in a dead zone without cable or DSL. I had a generic modem/router that was given to me by a friend. I was lucky to get 2 bars of reception. With the Netgear Nighthawk I have no issues with reception or download speeds.

Nighthawk MR1100 Router
I absolutely love my Nighthawk. With the ethernet connector I can finally get into all the features of my smart TV. As a ham radio operator I love the portability of the nighthawk because I can use it with one of my radios. I would highly recommend this router to any body.

CDMA vs GSM
The specs and speed of this mobile router are extremely advanced and the interface very intuitive. However, to the only gripe I have is the lack of CDMA bands.

The nighthawk worked perfectly for about 4 months until it no longer sent out a wireless signal. I tried locating the wireless signal from my phone, tablet, laptop, and Roku and none of them show a wireless signal available. I reset it 10 times to no avail. I even plugged in the Ethernet cable from the back of the nighthawk into my laptop with no luck on accessing the internet or being able to access the settings on the hotspot either. Great device while it worked but I took it to the AT

My best option for Internet in Rural Oklahoma
Having the Mr1100 Nighthawk has solved all my Internet Problems. This is plugged indirectly to a Mesh system that handles all my 27 wired and wireless devices thoughout my smarthome.

Excellent except for gaming
This mobile hotspot router is fantastic in every way except for online multiplayer gaming. Connection is no issue. Ive experienced no lag. But...if you’re looking for the option of joining your friends in a multiplayer online game, this is not the hotspot router for it. It only gives a Strict NAT and a double NAT at that. There is nothing that you can do to open the NAT or even get a moderate NAT. Otherwise its great for what it does offer, its small, compact and a durable little device. Reliable as well. It keeps a charge for days! Which is fantastic, I actually havent even drained the battery 50% and I use it daily. Ive had it a week so that speaks volumes. I highly recommend this device as long as you dont require an Open NAT for any devices.

Was great until forced update
I would of given the Nighthawk M1 a 10 star rating before the pushed update. After the update, I keep losing my signal every two minutes. It’s nothing more than an expensive paper weight now. I reached out to Netgear for help to see if they would be able to rollback the firmware but their response was to call AT

I absolutely love my router/hotspot. With the Ethernet connection I can finally get movies and other features on my smart TV. I also love the portability as I am a ham radio operator and I can go mobile. I would highly recommend this router.

The MR1100 integral LTE antenna has pretty good gain, the crucial thing for me in myremote setting.. WiFi radio also has good gain, reaches the entire house. Reliable so far, it was super easy to set up and get going

Have had this about 3 months now. Got off to a rough start. Would drop wifi signal what appeared to be randomly. A recent software update and changing some settings and it is working great now.

Excellent purchase
I live in the country. No high speed internet via cable. Before this I was getting 17-20mbps with my previous mifi on a good day . Now it it usually between 40 - 55Mbps. So happy with this purchase. Easy setup. Worth the price.

Travel quite a bit between RV and other travel. This hotspot has served us well. The addition of the external antenna works well in areas with less then ideal signal. Battery life is great, and the speeds are about the same as my phone.

Remote work on a Boat? No problem with this router
Using this for Internet access on my boat. I live in a rural area of Oklahoma and have a 36 foot Carver Aft Cabin on Lake Tenkiller. I have a couple of TV's, stereo's and of course everyone has their tablets and phones on the boat. Cell service in this area is spotty at-best. I can get one bar of 4G service with my Verizon phone, and my wife can get two bars with her AT&T phone. When in the slip, no signal at all. Thought I would give this device a try. I added in a 36 dBi gain antenna to this using the two antenna connectors, and even in the slip I get 3 bars of signal with a 36 Mb/s download and 8 Mb/s upload. Everything streams great regardless of where I am on the lake or in the slip. The external antenna makes all the difference. As a note, my external antenna is suction-cupped to a side window to get that signal. I have tested it mounted outside, and in that situation I get 5 full-bars, but since 3-bars is sufficient, I keep it mounted inside. If you are going to keep it plugged in like I do, suggest just removing the battery as it gets hot if plugged in all the time. I highly suggest this. My service provider is Pure Talk Wireless, and when I put my SIM Card in the device, it worked fine. I did make some tweaks to get a little better throughput at the suggestion of the Pure Talk Wireless support team, but while it helped a little, it wasn't 100% necessary. If you aren't technically savvy (I am, don't worry, you should still be able to set this up. If you are a "techie", plenty of tweaks you can make to improve things in the settings.

Reliable WiFi Connection
A reliable WiFi connection is important to someone who travels in their RV. Reliability is not always the case with campground WiFi connections. The Nighthawk M1 connects all of my devices with ease. Printer, laptop and two mobile phones.

Awesome product!
This router works amazing never hesitates I can play Netflix on my Blu-ray player, I can connect my security system, and stream Wi-Fi on my iPhone and I iwatch all at the same time with no hesitation. Also this is Mobile you can take it with you on trips and vacations just overall a good product!

Great Mobile Router
I have recommended several family members and friend to go buy a Netgear Two of my friend and one family member got rid of direct tv and cox cable after buying their netgear and they told me that they are very much enjoyinh using it.

Overpriced, restrictive, lackluster
Overall performance was decent, but doesn't do true carrier aggregation. Netgear locks owners out of any really useful configuration settings and forces firmware upgrades even with battery removed. Newer firmware revisions CAN NOT be rolled back, and lock users out of more and more features all the time. Forget Netgear, they lost a longtime customer.

I travel for my job … averaging ONE bar of signal … called support, they sent me a new SIM card … no change. But don’t worry they keep offering me to spend 5-6 hundred more for an upgrade
