Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sends an email with the results of your network test or you may login to the link-live cloud service to view and export the information. This is by far the best tester we have used. Every single wiring/network/telecomm technician should have one of these in their tool bag. It will immediately send you an email with the results of your network test or you may login to the link-live cloud service to view and export the information. In about 15 seconds the visual indicators on the tester will tell you: * Do I have POE? * Can I ping the gateway? * Can I acquire an address? * Can I ping the internet? You can sync this to your mobile device if your looking for additional information - Like the switch name, port and VLAN you are using. No more tracing patch cords in the data closet! How about a quick cable test? Yep, this can do that too. The Linksprinter 300 helps our team identify where the problem lies. Something that might be nice in a future release would be a small screen on the unit to show the port information or cable length without having to sync your phone to it. Less downtime, quick results and fast repairs saves money and keeps our users happy - This tool helps us do that and more! Rated 5 out of 5 by from A small, convenient tool that is very stable, but needs to have a longer battery life What is our primary use case? I use the tool to find the nearest switch, to check whether it's the right speed or duplex, and to connect to the network. I also use it to validate whether or not there's POE on a particular cable, and to run some cable tests. You can do it all from your mobile phone. What is most valuable? The tool fits in your pocket, so it's easy to carry and you don't have to have a big bag of tools. It's convenient. If you're going out to do a small job, you can just use the LinkSprinter. What needs improvement? They could make it easier to set up originally, because the initial setup can be quite hit and miss. It is also quite battery intensive, so it might last a bit longer if it had a lithium battery. You're always having to replace the batteries, so it would be good if it could be USB-charged or something like that. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using this product for probably about six years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The stability is very good. It's easy to use, so you don't have to be a specialist networker to use it. I would give it a five out of five for stability. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? It's just a single device that connects to your phone, so if you bought a load of them you could give your whole workforce a pocket tester, and then collect the data from them centrally. How was the initial setup? You download an app on your mobile phone and then pair it with the device. Then, you can look at the results on the Link-Live cloud. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? You pay for the device, but you don't have to pay for the app. What other advice do I have? I would rate this solution as an eight out of ten. Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.
