Know your gear

Business today demands a different kind of database solution. Performance, scalability, and reliability are essential, and time to market is critical. Beyond these core enterprise qualities, SQL Server provides agility to your data management and analysis, allowing your organization to adapt quickly and gracefully to derive competitive advantage in a fast-changing environment. From data management and analysis perspectives, it is critical to turn raw data into business intelligence and take full advantage of the opportunities presented by the Web. A complete database and data analysis package, SQL Server opens the door to the rapid development of a new generation of enterprise-class business applications that can give your company a critical competitive advantage.

Standard edition is an affordable option for small and medium-sized organizations. It includes the core functionality needed for non-mission-critical e-commerce, data warehousing, and line-of-business solutions.

MICROSOFT OPEN VALUE SUBSCRIPTION OPTION

With the Subscription option, you pay a single price per desktop (five desktop minimum) to deploy Microsoft technology as the standard across your organization, just as with the Company-wide option. However, the Subscription option provides you with rights to run the software only during the term of the agreement with Microsoft (nonperpetual).

SOFTWARE ASSURANCE

Microsoft's Software Assurance gives you automatic access to new technology and provides productivity benefits, support, tools, and training to help deploy and use software efficiently.

With Software Assurance, you receive access to new versions of licensed software released during the term of your agreement to deploy at your own pace. New Version Rights simplifies the procurement process and shortens the business process cycle, allowing you to reduce the costs associated with acquiring new version releases and immediately take advantage of the latest technology.

What do you dislike about the product?

Nothing as such negatives, sometimes the server is slow we should wait a long time to get a single query output, but server problem is common wherever you go

What do you like best about the product?

I think this is the industry standard for SQL database, easy to use and learn, taught in most universities as the basis of SQL database.

What do you dislike about the product?

Advanced stuff are not that easy to learn, would be better if there are easy to read documentation for advanced things like SSIS, indexing, etc.

What do you like best about the product?

What I like best about Microsoft SQL Server is its robust performance, scalability, and advanced security features. The platform offers excellent tools for data management, backup, and recovery, along with seamless integration with other Microsoft products. Its intuitive interface and strong support for complex queries make it ideal for large enterprises managing high volumes of data.

What do you dislike about the product?

What I dislike about Microsoft SQL Server is its high licensing costs, which can be a barrier for smaller businesses or startups. Additionally, it can be resource-intensive, requiring significant hardware and infrastructure for optimal performance, especially in large-scale environments.
