Rated 5 out of 5 by from Was disappointed with my case I purchased this approximately 1 month ago. I typically use Otterbox cases. They have proven to be very protective. This time I decided to try LifeProof because they seem slimmer, not so bulky. Immediately after I put the case on it seemed well protected and slimmer. However, it seemed there was less of a grip and almost slippery and I happen to be a little clumsy, but the other thing I noticed was when I spoke to others with the case on, they all said I sounded muffled and I could not hear them as well either. For these reasons, Lifeproof did not meet my expectation and I therefore, returned this case for a refund.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lifeproof for the WIN Even though it’s tempting to have a different designed case all the time, I have always stuck with lifeproof for the past 3 generations of iPhones I’ve had. The 5, 7, and now Xr. For the little extra bit of bulk it gives your phone, ITS WORTH IT. I can’t tell you how many times I dropped my 7 and when it’s out of the case it still looks like a brand new phone. These cases are 100% worth your money and I probably won’t ever buy any other case BUT LIFEPROOF!!! Completely waterproof and no matter how many times you drop your phone it’s still in perfect condition? Yes please! All of my phones have had some rough falls and I have submerged them in water for pool/ocean pictures so I personally have experienced the awesomeness of these cases. If you’re thinking about getting one, you should!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall use I ordered this a month ago to have for my trip to the beach! The package showed delivered, but I never received it. When I contacted customer service they were great! They immediately sent out a new one to an address I would be at for a part of my trip. Once I got to the beach I tested my case and put it on my phone. Unfortunately my pictures didn’t come out so well. A friend using the same phone not in the case had very clear pictures while mine seemed to have a shadow. Typing on the case was difficult. The only mode the case would allow was silent. I was unable to switch the ringer to on. And last when talking on it the people on the other end couldn’t hear or understand me clearly. This is my 4th Lifeproof case. It worked great to keep the water and sand out, and while I love the color and how slim it is, I think it needs improvement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit for iPhone XR I’ve have used the Lifeproof Fre on two previous phones and couldn’t wait until I got my hands on one for the iPhone XR. The fit is perfect and I am confident that it will protect my phone from falls and water exposure! It is much thinner than the Otterbox Commuter I picked up temporarily until I could get the Lifeproof Fre case. The design has improved with the O-ring being integrated into the case and not something the user has to fiddle with during installation. Also, there is a small lip on the charge port that allows easier opening. I am not a fan of the color combinations offered this time. I would have selected the black/gray “asphalt” color but it was out of stock. The other color combinations clash more than compliment each other. “Banzai” was great and even “Wipeout” would be a better combination than “Boosted.”

It scratches to the point of not being able to see through it and makes typing on the screen a nightmare even when new. LifeProof please make a Nuud case for the iPhone Xr. This case is being returned for a refund and I will never buy another unless it is available in Nuud

The reason for the 7 case is because my wife destroyes these cases. The nice thing is everyone one of our phones has looked brand new. It also saved her phone when she dropped it in 9’ of water off a dock. Here is a picture of her last case.

Downside: the speaker sound (sound seems blocked a bit), screen on Fre case (could be snugger against screen)—This part of the case can use improvement. I find comfort in having my phone in a LifeProof case when snowboarding, beaching, playing and when my toddler has it in his little hands!

Being a farmer, my phone goes through heck and back, and it’s like new anytime it’s out of the case. I like life proof better than otter box because they’re thinner and you sure pay for it, verses cheap off brands. But none of those fit your phone perfect like the life proof. You may pay a steep price but as long as I have this brand phone, I’ll always have a case, with the lifetime warranty

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perry I just recieved the case. I tested it for water leaks just like it said. no water in case after 1 hr. Yesterday I ran my dirty skid steer. I put it in front of me so I could see the phone. It took the sand and dirt, blow it off then answer the phone. Love it!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality is non-existent I have been using Lifeproof cases for my iPhones for years and I have noticed a tremendous decrease in quality. I replaced my iPhone 5 case twice over a two year span due to normal wear and tear. I then upgraded to the iPhone 6s and replaced the case a total of 7 times over 2 years (ripped screen protector, the headphone jack broke off twice, the rubber stopper fell off numerous times. I just received my iPhone XR case and the side button to change from silent to sound does not even function. For me to use this feature on my phone, I would have to remove my phone case completely, defeating the purpose of even having a Lifeproof case. I am extremely disappointed, I would not recommend.

I always re-sell my phones at a high price because they are in great condition due to the case. My only issue with previous models was the head phone screw-in would always come detached but that doesn't exist in this model.

The weather was horrible, rain and clothes were wet all the time but phone wasn’t, thanks to this case. Eventho it’s kinda big case and needs to get used to use it, it’s so good, that I would not change it. Love it!

I have dropped my phone on cement floors, in mud and puddles and it has always been protected. I like that they improved the design of the charging cord cover. That was the only weakness on previous covers. They always stand behind their product too. They honor their lifetime guarantee without any problem. LifeProof has excellent customer service. It’s the only case I’ll buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The case you need If your rough on phones If your rough on phones Life proof is the only way to go I weld /metal work in shipyards and for hobby and an avid boater. the situations I’ve put phones through is nothing but rough I’ve lost one in a shipyard parking lot at shift change on a holiday weekend found it 4 hrs later with tire tracks across the back picked it up it only had a small scratch in the face of the case. that have gone swimming, been Through heavy rain for days dust dirt you name it phone always looks perfect and works fine when you take it out of the case the case takes a beating I wouldn’t have a phone without one. I just bought this one for my XR and wouldn’t take it out of the box until I bought the life proof case

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Work Got my case in the mail a couple weeks ago, I’m a welder and everyone knows we do a lot of grinding as well so my primary use for a sealed case is to keep metal dust and shavings out of my ear piece lightning port etc... so far so good have used life proof cases on my other iPhones as well and usually last me about 2 years before needing replacement. Hopefully this one is no different. Some cases also muffle the speakers slightly when in the case or cause vibrations, never have those issues with the fre.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointed after years of lifeproof use I've been a lifeproof customer for almost five years. When I got a new phone, I knew the right decision was to order a lifeproof. After two weeks, the blue rubber that trims the screen is already disgusting and appears gray with dirt even though it hasn't been exposed to much dirt at all. The same rubber has also cracked. I am extremely disappointed with lifeproof.

Sometimes I am unable to press the keys on the phone pad an have to take the case apart in a hurry to use the phone. The exterior is degrading and getting stainrowith ordinary use. This case is overpriced and a major disappointment. I do not recommend this phone.

Yes the call volume could be better and the issue that the previous reviewer had with screen shut off is nothing new, it also happened with my fre power for the 6. For someone that likes to keep their phone for 2-3 years this is the only option worth buying.

There are no issues with sound quality in fact it I think it sounds better. Not muffled and very clear. Screen response at the top is compromised a little but not enough to really bother me. However, LifeProof has been there every time & saved us from catastrophe. They should call it life insurance! My rule is: buy your LifeProof case before you get your phone & immediately install it before leaving the cell phone store! I have only touched my phone once and that was to put it in the case. Now that I am on a flex plan, I cannot return a phone that has been damaged in any way or is in operable. LifeProof ensures this!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Defective product & terrible customer service I bought the case Jan 19, received it a couple days later (shipping time was awesome), but when I opened it... Looking back I never should have pulled the case out as I noticed the lines right away. Phone case had/has two lines on the front of the screen. I was hoping it was just a scratch and proceeded to test the case - it failed right away, water leaked into the case thought the small cracks. I bought the case for my (personally bought) work phone as we work in some very grungy places with loads of dust and really want to protect my new phone. Normally I'd give more than one star even if I get a defective product, but Lifeproof has refused to even acknowledge my claims or messages. I've tried twice to claim warranty, no response. If you have issues with the warranty page you can click on the 'contact us' and it will open up a page for you to fill out. I tried that twice - no response. Icing on the cake after asking for help, lifeproof sends me a request for a review and still doesn't get back to me about my claims (all the same email). YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FRE in XR I’ve had this FRE in my iPhone XR for about three weeks. Initially I had to get assistance with getting the toggle to work on the silent/ring. But, Ligeproof Customer Sevice helped me get it aligned via phone. It’s light green so it is already looking dirty so, I’d recommend a darker color. The back is a harder plastic and keeps clean but the front face of it has a softer plastic that gets dirty easily. The hindged area to expose the power outlet may not last long but, it helps that I use wireless charging. So, perhaps on any non-wireless charging cell phones I wouldn’t recommend this cover. Overall, I enjoyed my Otter Boxes better but, they have gone screenless and I always want a screened case.

However, there is still the issue of past generations of the case in which the plastic layer on top smudges a lot as the finger print resistant coating is either non existent or lacking and the plastic still has a slight blurring affect which at times can nauseating if you hold your phone particularly close to your face.

I ordered the case on a Black Friday deal, was disappointed the color I wanted was out of stock. Also was a little disappointed the case took a week and a half to arrive. Much slimmer and lighter than the case I had while waiting for this one to arrive. My only complaints are the shipping time, the button to turn vibrate to ringer on doesn’t seem to work ( maybe it just needs to loosen up, and this case was difficult to get clean prior to putting on ( seemed like there was a lot of dust or something on the inside and out, was difficult to get off prior to putting on case)

I really love the case itself but I just think for installation purposes it should come with a better wipe for the screen and maybe some sort of tape to fully remove the dust off screen. But I used my own method to clean everything. It’s a very quality product and I wish they made them for I pads, etc. great product

I’ve had some problems connecting with Siri handsfree and using the side button. My apple technician thinks it could be due to this case impeding the ability of the speakers. Please lifepeoof, fix this issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why Mess with a Good Thing? I have had a LifeProof case on every iPhone since the 5. When I was an Apple employee I sold a ton of em through annectdotal evidence. Specifically I had a white and gray LifeProof case, all of them. Call me unimaginative but I always thought that was one of the most novel thing about apple products and LifeProof made a case to match...until now. The case is good but why stop making such a tried and true design? Especially since the alternatives are...questionable. I got the gray and blue, I like everything EXCEPT the color.

The one thing I noticed when trying to put it on for the first time and only time so far is the band that runs along the inside kept popping loose when I went to close the case. It was super annoying. Once I got it closed it functioned fine, but now I’m afraid to take the case off in case I can’t get that band placed right.

When the case arrived I thought it would be better quality especially for the amount they charge for the case. The materials used should be a little more quality for this case. Maybe rubber on the back plastic piece to protect it from drops and damage?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not bad but muffles calls Ive always been a big Lifeproof fan. Bought a iPhone XR and instantly put this case on it. Ever since everyone complains that the calls are muffled. Ive read reviews were people said its the noice canceling function on the phone. Turned it off and still has the same problem.... Doesn't do it when the case is off. Not sure what the answer or solution is.... but obviously something has changed in the product since my other cases.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good not great I have had this case for just over a month. I previously had a similar case on my old IPhone 7. They are extremely good at protecting the phone in most reasonable conditions. I work outside in all weathers and environments. On removing the phone from the case, they are like new. However due to the harsh circumstances I expose my equipment to, there are some minor issues. The screen protector scratches, Making the screen hard to read. I have to say, it is under some extreme conditions, many may not experience this. The rubber housing abraded on my old case over 2-3years, and eventually the case would not remain together. Once more the caveat is hard almost unreasonable use and expectations. I have bought another case for my new phone as they do protect the device superbly. Before these cases I frequently had to replace or live with broken telephones, They are the best case for me.

The charging port cover will not stay closed due to the thickness of the rubber gasket. Only option is to remove gasket. Additionally the sound on/off switch looks to be the same design and is usually the first piece to fail. With that said Lifeproof has been great in the past with offering replacements for any issue so I went with them again.

The cover is so protective and I love the covers for the buttons on the phone as well, definitely worth the price would recommend to anyone with a phone that needs protecting.

I had a minor problem with the case I purchased for my last phone which was guickly resolved by customer service at no cost to me. My only wish is that it was available in clear so my phone color would show.

They also enlarged the hole for the lightning port so more adapters will fit! Even with the case, faceID can read right through my sunglasses and Giro Air Attack Shield helmet. The fre Protects the phone from drops even though the XR is much heavier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable! I am a known dropper of phones and when I first received my iPhone XR, I knew it was gonna fall victim to this because of how sleek and slippery it is. When I first received the case, I had already fallen in love with it because of how much easier it was to hold my phone. Still a klutz, however, so I’ve managed to drop my phone plenty of times only for it to stay in tact inside the case. Haven’t gotten a chance to test out the waterproofing yet, but would still recommend to anyone.

They protect so well! I have never broken a phone (knock on wood) but for some reason, with my new XR, I can’t use any of the features within the phone. The screen stays black the whole time I am on the phone. I can’t put it on speaker or use the number pad. It’s almost like my phone thinks my face is right next to the screen the whole time. It’s really frustrating. I like this case for everyday use because I’m not super careful with my phone, but I may have to reserve it only for situations where I need to really protect my phone. Super bummed.

I work in construction and keep my phone with me through all kinds of weather and conditions. The design has improved so I can even slide the “silence all” button with no problems. I’ve used other brands with work-issued phones, and for my personal phone I’ll always use a Fre by Lifeproof.

The case is great for protecting my phone from dirt and water, but I constantly get complaints that people can't hear me when I'm talking. Additionally, I can hardly hear when I have the speaker on or I'm trying to play music. Buyer's remorse for sure, should have just gone with a lighter protective case so I can hear.

Such as otter box it was cheap and flimsy and I broke first smart phone in an otter box. But then my friend recommended life proof and I have been a satisfied customer since. The design and how slim and sturdy the cases are makes the steeper price well worth the money I will only trust life proof with my electronics from now on thank you for such great cases and I will surely be buying another as soon or if this one wares out but I haven’t had one ware out on me yet I’ve actually replaced the phone before I had to replace the case so I doubt that it will ware out. I’m so clumsy that when I carriy it in my pocket and then before you know it dropped in the toilet or I would drop in on the floor. I live a active style and when whitewater raft I place my phone in the front of my life vestige eater has never ruined my phone , snowboarding i never have to worry that the snow will damage my phone. these cases are tough which is good because I can be very tough on my phones. It’s worth money and I love all the rad colors they offer .

I must say that’s a phone no wider than my previous iPhones feels secure in my hands. I dropped my phone once about 2 meters Sand my CRhas survived without damage! I have gotten brave and submerge my phone in my sink for about 30 seconds and found no leakage. I don’t intend on doing that again as I don’t wanna take any chances. Lifeproof does a great job of creating spaces that are affordable and are of great quality. As for the volume and on off buttons, they mesh beautifully with my XR. As I have in the past I would wholeheartedly recommend the Lifeproof Fre case because it’s affordability, durability, and ergonomic design. Gotta love the case!

I’m assuming it’s coming in at the charger opening but not 100% You’d think for $100 the case would be a little better quality than it is.

But since this phone has a color that is chosen, the case should be clear to see the phone. Also, the side button that turns on and off the sound cannot be moved when the case is on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love Lifeproof Went to Sea World and got on the Infinite Falls ride and forgot I had my phone in my pocket and it got drenched....not a single drop of water touched my actual phone thanks to my lifeproof case FRÉ...dropped my phone and it hit the concrete and it just bounced a few times but the sound it made was like a piece of hard rubber bouncing which gave me the notion that my phone did not take any damage whatsoever...

Came out of the box with a cosmetic blemish which I forgot to photograph before I put the case on. It passed the leak test. Feels a little more boxy than the galaxy S5 and S7 cases I’ve had in the past. I was disappointed to see the charge/port access door was designed the same way as my S7 case door was. Which means it will most likely break in a few months. My galaxy S5 case had a larger more robust clip edge on the charge/port access door. The clip edge on that never broke in 2 years.

This case worth every penny and then some. My iphone XR has been thrown every day, dropped every day, been wet on multiple occasions, including being tossed into the shower with me (it was ringing and my wonderful two year old son brought me my phone) and this phone case has kept my iphone in pristine condition. This case is the best money can buy and you're insane if you don't pick one up. Total phone usability and zero worries. Why wouldn't you buy one??? I prefer built in screen protectors. I like the feel of it being less bulky, but I still fear it won’t be enough protection for drops. My reason for 4 star review is solely on the lack of color options. I really didn’t want this color (blue/booster), but the green was sold out. I really wish there were more color options.

To give you an idea of how impressed I was, here is one of my experiences. About 2 years ago, I lost my phone while playing golf. I discovered it was missing after the round and notified the course of my loss. I gave them a number of a friend so they could get in contact with me. Unfortunately a week passed and I found out how difficult it was to live without a cell phone. I was all set to purchase a new phone when I was contacted by my friend. He told me the phone was found by the greens keeper who heard a clunk while mowing around the edge of the green. He saw something fly out the side of the mower about 30 feet. He stopped the mower to check it out and saw it was a cell phone. He threw it in the lost and found and the course manager identified it as my phone. I was contacted and got the phone back. It was fully functional! A huge shout out to Life Proof! Simply awesome!

And, the color bright enough to see easily, no matter the clutter level. It’s fairly streamlined, and the screen protector does not impede my screen touch to a significant degree. Im satisfied, actually more so than when I had a previous model of this case several years ago.

Not fun going to my settings every time. You had complaints about this in the past with Fre cases and you’ve done nothing about it. The look of the case, the slim profile and the protection are excellent. That mute switch ridiculous.

The worst part is that when I talk to my friends through the phone, everyone says why your voice is so light I almost cannot hear you. So I am very disappointed. The case is probably the most expensive on the market and I wouldn't recommend it.

It does what it advertises, and it certainly takes care of my phone avoiding damage by many drops, etc. My only concern is that the button on the side covering the mute on/off always turns that off, and it does not turn it back on/off after the case is in place. The other cases I have had did the same thing. I am hoping this one will be better in that area, but otherwise - the best case ever!

My previous Fre case lasted 5 years (iPhone 5 until the phone died (not related to the case), so thought I'd continue my good string of luck and purchase this one. There is a sensor that disables the screen so your cheek doesn’t accidentally press any buttons; the case activates that feature making it hard to use the screen during a call.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Protecting an investment I just received my life proof fre a month ago and I have not one complaint. The Workmanship is flawless, it was easy and self explanatory to install, and everything on my phone works as it did without it. The difference now is: I don’t have to worry about dropping it in the lake, or a tub of oil, or just dropping it onto the floor or ground from my tractor. Dust does not get into anything, it’s so close to the original profile of the phone that no adjustments had to be made to my phone holder in the car or truck or boats or tractors. It fits easily into my pocket (should say slides) & more importantly does not drag money out with it when I take it out of my pocket. When I buy my next phone I’ll buy a life proof for it as well!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from iPhone XR case I bought this case a few weeks ago and it feels cheap and is not as slim as the website suggested. Not very happy. The case makes my camera very foggy as well. For the amount of money I paid for it. I would say it’s not worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My work environments I bought many of life proof cases and this is the first one for this phone and I like the how the aren’t bulky and the feel nice and comfortable in my hands and pocket the help keep metal dirt and other foreign objects out of the ports on my phone and will help keep water out too but the jobs I do I usually ruin the cases to the point they aren’t water proof anymore but my main concern is protecting the ports and things getting in my phone and scratches my last phone I bought and wore out three life proof cases in a year but it’s the only case I like

It handles the dust and dirt of a job site incredibly and it slides in and out of your pocket with ease.

This time though, buying a new life proof for my new IPhone XR I’m not impressed, he screen loses all sensitively and to write a simple text takes time and you have to force the letters on the screen:(
