Rated 5 out of 5 by from The workhouse of notebook PCs The HP EliteBook 840 14 Inch G9 Notebook PC - Wolf Pro Security Edition is exactly what it's name says, ELITE. This Notebook PC is steps ahead of any other computer. I love it's screen size of 14 Inch diagonal which feels perfect as it's not to big or small. It has HP Context Aware which uses AI based optimization to really hit home the response time and its performance. Of course since it is wolf pro security edition, it is highly protected to make you feel safe and secure. The cam is 5 mp and gives a clear picture when in use. It uses Intel Iris XE graphics for crisp flow and picture quality. The PC has a SSD capacity of 512 gb which is more than enough for your projects. The ram is 16gb which allowed the PC to run flawlessly. This computer is perfect for your business projects as well as leisure use. And it is very lightweight so not to be a pain when carrying around. Lastly, it has a very nice price point for all that it offers. I highly recommend this PC.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Large Touchpad, Compact Laptop, Great Performance This laptop rides the middle ground between compact/small and full sized-- while having good enough specs to really perform well as a business travel laptop. It's large enough that typing on it is not a hassle, the touchpad is sizeable, and the screen has enough real estate to actually see what you're working on. However, it's small enough that it's easy to pack, will fit in any backpack or bag, and you can plunk it on your lap or tray table when you're on the road. From a specs side of things, this is not what you want for photo or video editing (it does have 16GB of RAM, but you would be better off with an i7 processor instead of the i5), but it'll handle multiple applications (Excel, Outlook, Chrome, AutoCAD viewer, etc.) open at the same time without bogging down. The version I ordered also has a 512GB SSD-- which in the day of DropBox and cloud storage is plenty large enough for work and being an SSD means startup is measured in a few seconds. Also, this laptop is new enough that it's eligible for Windows 11 Pro for free, which I decided to do on the first start up and it was seamless. Works great. For using this, the keyboard does lack a numberpad, but the keys do not seem scrunched together. They keys are backlit (a few different brightness levels of white are available) and they have a solid "click" feel to them without being obnoxiously loud like some of the clicky keyboards that are all the rage these days. I do like that keys such as the mute and CAPS lock do have little lights embedded in them so you can tell at a glance if they are active. The laptop has a spot for a lock, a couple of USB ports, 2 USB-C ports (which is how you charge this) and one HDMI out. It also has a headset jack as well as a slot for keycard access. All of these inputs are on the sides of the laptop and not on the front or back. The touchpad on this is generous in size and responsive. I have yet to run into any issues with misinterpreted left/right/double clicks. The fingerprint scanner is off to the side and generally it recognizes my finger on the first attempt for a quick log in. I should mention that this also comes with a USB-C brick for charging. You can use any other USB-C brick you have on hand (if it has enough watts for a laptop), but the computer will yell at you if it's not an HP and recommend you use an HP branded charger. Battery life is decent, but it's not an all day battery. After 3-5 hours, you're going to want to be plugging it in depending on how heavily you're using the laptop. As far as the software goes, I did immediately upgrade it to Windows 11 Pro for free and I have no complaints. The laptop does come preinstalled with some software, but it's not too bad. There is the usual HP bloatware you can ignore or uninstall as well as some Wolf Security software. I haven't had any issues with the security software yet and it actually does a decent job of ad blocking when online. I haven't found anything to complain about on this laptop. I wish the battery life was a bit longer, but I'm not willing to sacrifice the screen size, overall laptop size, or laptop specs (processor, RAM, etc.) to get there. As it is, this is a perfect laptop for the business traveler. If you are using this as your full time work computer even at a desk, I would recommend a docking station so you can add a few screens and peripherals easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 10/10 I absolutely love my HP EliteBook 840 14 inch G9 Notebook PC - Wolf Pro Security Edition. It was very easy getting it all set up. I absolutely love how thin and light the notebook is. The buttons light up when you click on them, which makes it easier to type at night time. I love that it doesn’t take very long to charge. I love that it doesn’t take long to load games or loading browsers. The only con about it is the mousepad. It is sometimes are to scroll down on pages, but I ended up getting a wireless mouse, but other than that this is hands down the best notebook I’ve ever owned.. I would highly recommend.

My old computer was slowing down and becoming unusable and with remote work, I needed to find a good upgrade that was secure, efficient, and had overall great functionality. This one fit the bill and went beyond expectations. First of all, it is so lightweight. Such a night and day difference compared to my clunky plastic-cased old laptop. The design is sleek, and the size is perfect for taking on the go. Memory space is more than enough. The pre-installed malware protection saves me money and gives me peace of mind when browsing the internet and dealing with sensitive work information. Most of all, I love how fast it is; I get twice as much work done! Audio, camera, and graphics are great. Overall, I am amazing with the technology, design, and function. Definitely would buy this again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light weight computer for a hefty price This computer is very light, and has some great features. I personally like the shutter for the web cam. It is a simple slide button that isn't obtrusive. The touch pad is large, and placed in the center of the laptop making it usable for right or left handed users. The keyboard has adjustable backlit keys, which ranges from no light, dim or bright. The keyboard is compact, so if you have large hands, it might be hard for you to type. It is meant to be a business laptop, but I am reviewing it as a personal use computer. I feel that it is over-priced for what it is, but I am glad to have it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing laptop/desktop replacement! I never thought I would like a laptop years ago, but this thing blew me away! Stellar performance compared to what I was using originally (an older desktop, 4 years old) and that was a budget PC then. After setting up the Elitebook with the latest updates and getting Windows 11 ( a free upgrade from Windows 10) I was amazed at the performance and battery life. I had no reference for battery life, but this unit lasts me all day (7-10 hours of work)! I can't say enough about the performance really, but another wow moment was the clarity of the monitor, again I had no idea laptops could be this good. I would recommend the HP Elitebook 840 G9 to anyone looking for a great laptop with seemingly great specs for most laptops available when I wrote this. 16gb of RAM when my old PC was using 2gb, this took everything I could throw at it with ease!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific Machine That Starts Up Fine and Works! This is the best! I am not surprised by the way this fabulous notebook pc works, it is from a brand that I have always loved. The performance of it is really smooth and fast. Easy set up. I can do my work without having to worry about security things going wrong, and being safe is one of my biggest priorities right now online. I love the way the screen is and how I can use it for work related things. It is lightweight so I can bring it with me without having to worry about how heavy it is. You can always add more RAM to it if you need to, and the way the keys work are fantastic. Really don't find any true cons with this one! It is a superb lap top that is just going to be something I use a lot. I highly recommend it. It won't disappoint! I'm very happy with it. It's my first time using a notebook and the size is even fine with me.

Processor is fast, computer is light overall, screen is clear and bright, keyboard is perfect size and it fits nicely in my bag on the go. Perfect size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HP does it again !!! Outstanding !!! We have totally become an HP family. I am in love with our new EliteBook 840 G9. It’s a complete work horse. Long battery life, the camera is impeccable for virtual meetings, massive amount of storage, nice comfortable keys and trackpad, and the 14in screen is plenty big enough. I sold my MacBook and switched everything over to use this for work. I’m extremely impressed with the quality. We bought our daughter an HP gaming laptop 2 years ago and it’s still running like the first day we bought it. 10 out of 10 !!! Zero complaints for HP and their products.

It can handle all my business and hobby softwares. It's very lightweight and has a great charge. Bonus points for all the inputs on the side.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Features !! I have been looking for a new notebook for awhile now. When I saw the specs for the new HP Elitebook 840 G9. I knew this would be a great fit for me. The 14” is a perfect size for on the go. Graphics are amazing. Windows 11 pro with 12th generation intel core i7 processor. 16gb memory and 512gb storage is perfect for my business. The HP Wolf pro security edition is a huge benefit and the HP sure sense makes me feel protected. Very light weight makes it easy to take with me to my appointments. I do a lot of teams and zooms calls. With the 5mp camera with HP auto frame conferencing features that are built in its the perfect notebook for me. Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great business laptop overall This HP Elitebook runs the latest 12 gen i5 core with 16GB of ram and an SSD HD, and came with windows 10 pro, with free upgrade to windows 11. The fingerprint reader is an excellent feature which makes authentication and unlocking the machine so quick. The keyboard buttons are well spaced and do not feel too small like many laptop keyboards. The chassis feels very solid for such a thin notebook and feels like high quality. Microphone and speaker are very clear for video conferences. I also own a Macbook Pro M1 for work, but the Macbook runs on ARM architecture, which has a major limitation with running Docker and Hypervisors. This HP handles running VMs and containers with ease. Very impressed with the performance! Would recommend

It does get a little hot, and the fan is a lot noisier than on my old computer (with a high-pitched whining that's kind of insufferable). Great overall, though!

I am so happy I went with this one, there’s so many cool features and different things that just not your regular laptop would have. The picture quality and camera quality is awesome, I use zoom a lot so it works great for video calling. Love this! Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Notebook! I have been using the HP 840 G9 Notebook for a couple of weeks and I cannot be happier with its performance. This notebook comes equipped with a fingerprint sensor which I LOVE, a decent webcam, 2 usb type A and 2 usb type C ports, and a headphone jack. The keyboard is backlit, which comes in handy when i'm using it in low light and the spacing on the keys is perfect. The included charger is a usb type C and it charges the notebook quite quickly and the battery life is decent when using with the brightness turned down. The screen is bright and gives a beautiful picture and the speakers are loud and clear so I can easily watch a movie on this device. This notebook comes equipped with Wolf Security Pro which keeps my mind at ease about virus and malware protection. It also comes with 475 GB of storage as well (which is plenty for for me.) Set up was very easy. I connected to the wifi and then logged in with my microsoft account so everything from my desktop would sync to this notebook. Everything about this notebook is quick and efficient. From start up, to using it, to shut down, it's lightning fast. I can do multiple things on this notebook and leave things running in the background and it doesn't have any issue keeping up what-so-ever. The only thing that I have found that I do not like about this notebook is the finish of it. It has a matte like finish that shows every fingerprint and every minor scratch which is a minor annoyance. Overall, I am BEYOND happy with this Notebook and I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone looking for something smaller than a traditional laptop without skimping on the performance or features.

The screen is fantastic colors are spot on you can move the screen up down left or right of your view, there is a minimal color shift, the notebook is very thin and easy to transport from one location to another. USB ports are quick boots up files on USB drive fast, lighted keypad is nice to have keys are quite when typing noise from the laptop is As quiet as it can get, basically no fan noise. The SSD drive is fast, graphics look great and true color use it for photo editing before print been very happy with the prints. As quiet as it can get, basically no fan noise. Doesn't miss a beat when I have multiple windows open for work just doesn't slow down, battery life is not too bad I get with heavy use about 5.5 hours on a charge you can change the settings to get longer life on battery. This lightweight laptop has a nice clean design and a size that is perfect for travel. With multiple ports and a card reader, this laptop has everything you would need to support all of your needed peripheral devices. Setup was very simple and took about 15 mins after initial boot up. The sound quality of the speakers isn't half bad for a compact laptop and I am pretty happy with the maximum volume. The screen has very nice contrast, rich blacks, vibrant color, incredible color range, sharp images, and fairly quick motion graphic rendering. The keyboard has a really nice responsive feel and is fairly quiet. For the price this laptop has all the bells and whistles you could ask for.

It is very thin and sleek but has enough power to preform all daily functions as well as extra things such as playing video games and running multiple programs at one time. The screen has great resolution and color quality and the keyboard and trackpad respond wonderfully. I have used the machine for multiple days at a time and the charge lasts for a very long time. Highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect For Zoom Calls! This HP 840 G9 is perfect for Zoom calls! It's lightweight and compact, so I can take it on the go anytime. I prefer my webcam on my desktop, however; the built-in camera on the notebook is not the greatest quality. I use the camera to interview and talk with parents (I'm a newborn nanny), so I was hoping for better. I also would've loved more memory. But I will use this often, for so many things! This will probably replace the tablet I have for reading and listening to music with baby. Better speed, and so lightweight I can pop it in my bag every day. And the graphics are crystal clear! Best notebook I've ever owned!

Since I am a mom who wears many hats I also need many multi functional laptops. While majority of my work is done from my home office having the Wolf Pro Security on my HP EliteBook 840 14 inch G9 Notebook PC is one less thing I have to worry about when it comes to secured cyber security for my device. Having a multi-practical laptop is so important because I’m able to work from home, my car and sometime my kids extra curriculum activities. The HP EliteBook 840 14 inch G9 Notebook PC with Wolf Pro Security Edition was perfect for my needs. Configuration was very simple and fast and being on the go having a small lightweight HP EliteBook 840 14 inch G9 Notebook PC added to the numerous positives. The many features are a SIM card slot, HMDI port, card reader, fingerprint sensor, login face recognition fast software and excellent graphics. The HP EliteBook 840 14 inch G9 Notebook PC with Wolf Pro Security Edition has high pixel quality and good video quality and great sound and when I’m able to have some down time & watch a movie another positive thing about the battery is that’s it’s very long-lasting. I will highly recommend the HP EliteBook 840 14 inch G9 Notebook PC with Wolf Pro Security Edition.

It’s a great computer and has an i5 intel core processor. It's a nice size and is made of great material, slick design, lightweight, and has great productivity performance. The setup was easy and self-explanatory. Great for many settings, home, school, business, gaming and more. The keyboard is a nice size, the keys are smooth, and the touchpad is incredible. This notebook is loaded with features: a SIM card slot, HMDI port, card reader, fingerprint sensor, fast software, no lagging, nice graphics, good for coders and animators. The list goes on I love the fact that the HP ELITE Comes with an antivirus now I have no need to buy protection every year, console built-in security, and a diagnosis center. The HP ELITEBOOK has this hp clean which allows you to temporarily disable my device for safe cleaning. so cool! The HP ELITE book has High pixel quality and good video quality, great sound when watching a movie or playing video games. One cool thing about the battery is that it is very long-lasting. When it is about to die, it locks until you charge it to keep it from dying. Awe-inspiring battery life. No matter what lifestyle you lead, I believe that the HP ELITE 840 14-inch G9 Notebook pc is for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Greatest feature: speed! I am loving my HP EliteBook. The speed is very impressive. An easy touch and plenty of memory. I take a lot of notes during meetings and there's no "clickety click" sound that can be very aggravating.
