Much to my surprise I found out that both scanners do not interface with Apple Sequoia 15.5 and that a new "patch fix" needed to be made by Canon. They also could not tell me when that would happen?? Won’t synch with computer
Old scanner (9000) which I liked would not support new apple mac (sequoia OS). Had to buy new scanner (Canoscan life 300). Can’t get it to work with new computer (which was whole reason I. Ought it). Now worthless. Still not connected. Need help

This is a scam product. NOT 2400 DPI!
This is a scam product. It does NOT scan in 2400 dpi: Just 600 dpi. Tried both on mac and pc. These specifications are LIES!

Planned Obsolescence
It's cheap and okay. Not as user friendly as previous scanner I had (LIDE200) but Canon stopped supporting it when I got new computer with updated Windows (11). They'll probably do the same with this in a few years.

Having owned a Canon LIDE30 scanner for a very long time, I can vouch to say, from my experience, that it has been a very reliable scanner and easy to use. The only reason I had to purchase the newer LIDE 300 is I was unable to locate a newer LIDE30 driver to work with my newer Dell hardware and Windows 10 operating system. Well worth the purchase price.

I was able to easily upload the program to my computer from the scanner's site, and it quickly scanned the items i used to test it out. Easy, Simple, and light.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like a Charm on Mac I bought this in Aug 2020 and got it just 2 days later. I downloaded the manual and followed the instructions on the setup guide. I found it useful, easy to follow and it installed on my mac with no issues. Scanned my first item with no issues in seconds. Highly recommend as an inexpensive scanner with great auto-scan features which sizes your item to perfection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great for Line Art The scanner captures the line art I created very well and had more than enough detail for me to refine it nicely in Photoshop. I also scanned over a hundred pages for a PDF file, which it handled fine. No overheating or lag. I have only used the IJ Scan Utility and have not yet tested the buttons on the physical scanner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great budget scanner I use a scanner for home use. I got this to replace an old canon "LIDE 50" that has served me well over the years but recently died . So I got a LIDE 300.. I could not be happier with it II scans fast . Color photos are scanned accurately.. Be sure to use the Scan utility "IJ Scan Utility" that is installed during set up. It's great and stupid simple to use. By default, the scanner's buttons are set up for black and white documents . For home use, the LIDE 300 is all you need. BTW, I'm using it on Windows 7

The product works well with either the software actuation or the auto scan button actuation. Although we had intended to use the product for photos and snapshots, it produces nice pdf files also.

However, after waiting a couple of weeks for it, I checked with the factory and was told it was out of stock and they didn’t know when it would be available. I needed a new scanner, so I ordered the CanoScan Lide 300 instead. This scanner is capable and meets my needs for now. However, it doesn’t match the upgraded resolution of the model 400. Had I waited another month, I would have been able to purchase the model 400 but the company could not predict when it would be available.

Much to my surprise I found out that both scanners do not interface with Apple Sequoia 15.5 and that a new "patch fix" needed to be made by Canon. They also could not tell me when that would happen?? The only saving factor was that when I connected the scanner to my older Mac Cylinder, it worked fine, so I at least have somer scanner capabilities until the next software upgrade.
