Consistent and Reliable Connectivity

With 6 outlets and 1 switched outlet group, this server and network UPS provides uninterrupted battery power to connected electronics. With sine wave output when on battery, this rackmount UPS offers the highest degree of compatibility with PFC servers and sensitive electronics.

Network Management Cart Included

This UPS includes a pre-installed Network Management Card 2 via the SmartSlot, to remotely monitor and control the UPS by connecting it directly to the network. A temperature sensor is included to monitor changes in temperature of your devices.

Alternate Monitoring and Management Options

Use the intuitive LCD interface and PowerChute software to configure settings and monitor usage. Audible alarms also provide notification of changing utility power and UPS conditions.

High Efficiency

This 500 watt UPS offers a green mode to ensure you are operating at the highest level of efficiency while it’s smart battery management maximizes performance. Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) adjusts voltages ensuring reliable power while preserving battery life.

Solid UPS, Hard to Kill
We pretty much use these for all our clients. Easy to monitor with SmartConnect, easy-to-replace batteries. Just make sure to use brand-name APC batteries as the knock-offs don't work as well.

Excellent Quality
I already own 2 of these. I needed a 3rd for a 3rd server. When the power goes out in a storm, which we have a lot of in Florida, these APCs keep my business going. They also do an excellent job controlling surges. I’ve been using them for over a decade.

Even when there are no storms, my area is slightly prone to outages, and this UPS has never failed to provide uninterrupted PC use. During the storm, I had the chance to truly stress-test this product, as I was experiencing multiple power outages a minute. During 40 minutes of PC use, with lights constantly flickering, the UPS logged over 40 events that required battery backup, yet my PC was completely unaffected. After the storm, I was without power for 2.5 days, and the battery kept enough power to charge multiple phones multiple times.

Before buying this consider if your using a diesel to provide increased power outage support this might be more than you need. True it's scalable if you have high current start up requirements/maintaining switches for pumps PGE will love you for this properly configuring loads on this SMT. Otherwise the BR1500 is my personal favoroite for NGS MiSeq type instruments.

This floorstanding unit has tremendous battery capacity, especially considering its small footprint. It features 8 grounded outlets, a slot for a network management card, one USB-A and a SmartConnect Port, menu navigation buttons, and an easy-to-read LCD screen. It supports my network, PC, multiple monitors, modem, and router with ease. If you max it out, it will give about 24 minutes of usage during an outage; I'm running at around 30% load and get about 40 minutes. What's more, APC SmartConnect can be implemented to monitor the status of your UPC remotely if you wish, but isn't necessary to enjoy the other benefits of this product while omitting real-time monitoring from a distance. The peace of mind in knowing that there will be time to save critical work is worth investing in.

My wife and I both work from home and we have had some recent power failures that have left us unable to work, I selected the APC Smart-UPS SMT1500C with the hope that should it happen again we are covered. The APC Smart-UPS is very easy and straight forward to setup. I also installed the APC UPS Network Management Card 3 to help with monitoring and management. Very happy with it, everything is plugged in and running smoothly and quietly.

I’ve been using this UPS along with its network management card, and it has completely changed the game in terms of power protection and remote monitoring. Setting up the UPS was a breeze, and the network management card seamlessly connected to my network. This allowed me to easily keep an eye on the UPS from anywhere, receiving notifications and accessing performance data for peace of mind. With its 1500VA capacity, the SMT1500C delivers reliable power backup for all my valuable electronics. It keeps them safe from power issues like surges or fluctuations. The UPS has a sleek tower design that fits well in any environment. The LCD display gives me quick access to important information like battery life and power conditions. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps my server and internet up during brown outs We live in a part of town that is older, and during out hot summer months we have occasional brown outs (Power drops enough to cause electrical items to shutoff/restart) and having this happen to your server at home is not conducive to a long life of the raid, cpu and other items. However, by installing the APC UPS, we've mitigated this by always supplying the server, our router and the switch with 120 VAC even during times when our power drops to 20VAC (our brown out voltages). I cannot recommend installing a UPS enough to anyone who needs to ensure their server uptime is maximized.

While I do not have power outages often, I will occasionally get flickers, and when they do occur I can't work. So by using this, it gives me that extra time to continue working without disrupting whatever I was doing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Large capacity unit for peace of mind. I got this UPS for my home office setup. Now that working from home has, thankfully, become more normalized, I do need to ensure that said work is protected. The famously reliable Texas power grid loves to dip out when the weather gets too hot or too cold, and I've found myself staring at a suddenly blank screen too many times. Working as a developer with AV software, I have several power hungry PCs that I need to support, and so I was looking for a larger capacity UPS. This unit has the capacity I was looking for, but is large and heavy. I wish it had handles, or grips on the case to make it easier to move around. The controls are all on the front, which is great if it's up on a shelf, but not so easy to use if the unit is sat on the floor. The black buttons on a black faceplate are also a little difficult to see, particularly if it's dark. Setup is relatively easy. Click through a few options on the device itself, plug into a router, set up an account on the APC website, and you can register/monitor the device remotely. You get a trial period with the standard monitoring plan, which you can set up to email you with warnings and errors that the device encounters. It'll let you know if the UPS has lost power or if the connection to the UPS is lost. The free plan allows you to check the device remotely, but won't do notifications. This isn't a big deal for my situation. There is a slot on the back of the unit to fit an optional network management card if you need to tie the device in with a more extensive monitoring system in a full office environment. Once running, the small screen on the device shows the battery charge level and the load as a percentage of the UPS capacity. I really like having the load visible, because with older UPS units, you never quite knew if you're plugging in too many devices. This one will warn if you are drawing more power than the batteries would be able to sustain during a power loss. Overall, seems like a good quality, solidly built unit. APC is the brand I've always seen in use at workplaces I've been employed at, and they seem pretty reliable.

However This APC keeps me working when our power is out. I have my router plugged into it and I just keep on working. Super easy to setup and I get alerts sent to my email on when the power goes out if I am not home. I have bought two more for other areas in out house and will most likely get a few more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable UPS This is very reliable UPS. The unit is heavy as it's 1500VA but the shape makes it very stable. There is a fan that turns on only if the unit is operation on batteries. Normally the unit is silent. The runtime on 85W is above 2h which is great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The APC Smart UPS 1500 LCD just works Our previous Smart UPS had gotten old and was getting weak. Even after it had new batteries it was no longer able to do its job. I ordered the new one from CDW after talking with them about what I needed. It installed easily and works very well. We are set to overcome minor power outages now.
