DEAD at age 3 months
Frightening night with BN1500M2 5B2413TE1921. Very light load, only a computer in Sleep mode. Arrived home and green Power light is lit but no response from the Display Panel button. Thought I'd power it off and then on again - but it refused to power off. So I unplugged it from the outlet and unplugged all my

I purchased this machine on 8/21/24, it is now 9/16/24and siting on my desk, not working. This thing went into "Let me scream and cry" mode and would not turn off. I got an error code of F02. After using this product for a month it refused to turn on. Replaced with an identical model with same results. After some work with the dealer I concluded APC knows about this problem. Their solution? Don't turn the unit off! Which, for various reasons I usually do when my system is down. Restarting the unit i
Long life and great protection
I live in FL, the lightning capital of the USA. My last Back UPS 1500 died after nine years so I was impressed as it took many voltage surges and power failures. My new Back UPS 1500 worked perfect out of the box. Setup was easy, no problems. Fits nicely in the corner of my work desk.
Terrifying Failed Out of the Box
Purchased this unit from Amazon. The unit ships with the battery disconnect (for safety obviously), and instructions to connect the battery. I did so. Upon powering up the unit clicked back and forth (about a 1 second period) between online and battery, you could year the relay clicking. I then power off (press

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked for exactly 16 days, warranty? I purchased this machine on 8/21/24, it is now 9/16/24and siting on my desk, not working. This thing went into "Let me scream and cry" mode and would not turn off. I got an error code of F02. Something about a faulty flux capacitor and that a short was detected. It buried itself and even covered itself with dirt. I have searched and searched for the warranty process on this website to no avail. Maybe consider that machines break and that the warranty information should be at least 2 clicks from the home screen. It is no secret that things break, make it a little easier to claim the warranty. I am giving 2 stars for: 1 The original issue of the UPS freaking out 2 Non-existent warranty information 3 No obvious place to claim said warranty 4 Having to write a review for a product that doesn't work just to get some feedback as to what to do in the evet that the machine breaks and having to claim on the warranty.

Arrived home and green Power light is lit but no response from the Display Panel button. Thought I'd power it off and then on again - but it refused to power off. So I unplugged it from the outlet and unplugged all my equipment from it and put it outdoors for the night. Sounds stupid but I'm thinking what-if it burns up? Overall, there had been periodic F02 errors and now this zombie mode incident. I like the Display Panel and the button to turn off the noisy alert but I can't let this device stay in my house. It just feels dangerous. Outdoors Update, Eight hours later - the green light is still lit. Plugged it into an outdoor outlet and same symptom, won't power off. No, I'm not messing around with the battery, not spending all day scanning forums and troubleshooting guides, not going to both with phone/chat, not driving a hundred miles to recycle it at Best Buy. I'll probably just take the $200 hit; an expensive lesson for this Emptor who failed to Caveat.

After some work with the dealer I concluded APC knows about this problem. Their solution? Don't turn the unit off! Which, for various reasons I usually do when my system is down. Restarting the unit involves disconnecting and reconnecting the batteries, which is a bother. I would not knowingly buy a product with this feature.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plenty of Power for the Money! This new Smart-UPS model offers a LOT of POWER, for the money. Less powerful units are cheaper, of course, but you don't want to ever realize that you just don't quite have the margin to add a new external drive, router, monitor, etc. It's much smarter to pay just a few dollars more and have the extra capacity there when you need it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big UPS for a big server and backup system at home This is impressive--it is replacing a couple smaller UPS systems (also from Schneider Electric) to provide uninterruptible power to my home server and multiple backup devices and network switches. I work at home, so solid power and protected data backups are vital, and I cannot afford a network outage when I am working on documentation and database entries. With this single beefy UPS, I can easily make my home network, all the way back to the cable modem, the backup drives, the switches, and the WiFi box, stay online, protect my very valuable data against possible loss, and have one less big thing to worry about. We live in an area prone to unexpected power failures, so a reliable UPS is vital.Peace of mind when working at home on critical work-related projects is priceless. It also helps me provide good support to my customers and eliminate the silly "power went out and I lost my data" excuse, since I work in the computer security field, and I'm supposed to know better!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great UPS! I received this about a week ago. It is easy to setup. The unit a little heavy but totally to be expected from a solid battery backup system. I recently moved to Texas and have had multiple power outages. It is nice to have the piece of mind to not worried my whole computer system will get hit and shut down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Side door panel When trying to activate the battery system. Returning side door access panel was a challenge to get back on this unit properly. Not an easy slide plugin and slide back. The cable made it tight and would not position the panel quite right. The rest was easy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost a perfect unit This is a top tier unit. 10 outlets including 2 sized for power bricks is wonderful. Should be noted that half the outlets are UPS protected and the other half are not. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is for a unit of this size I would expect and want to see network management. I would rather use a web interface than the Powerchute application. Works great for home or very small offices and entertainment systems.

I did so. Upon powering up the unit clicked back and forth (about a 1 second period) between online and battery, you could year the relay clicking. I then power off (press and hold the power button until it powered off). Re-read the instructions, powered on again, same problem. Again, power down and waited. Disconnected and reconnected battery per instructions then powered up. Again, clicking/relay actuation. This time pressing the power button to power down a bright flash of light, and a long, sizzling arc event (a few seconds) and a plume of smoke. Terrified I unplugged the unit and ran for my fire extinguisher as it beeped F02 errors. I then contacted Amazon for a refund and bought a Cyberpower equivalent capacity and power rating instead, could not be happier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great Looking packed with lots of power i got this product a month ago and it has been working great. Able to control many devices and has enough power that gives me time to shut down work computers in time to save data. The only con is the powershute software is slow in responding to menu changes. When I bring it up and then try to move to another menu choice, is takes about 10 seconds. I will be working on solution for that if continues with vendor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small, Powerful UPS This unit surprised me and far exceeded my expectations. After plugging in network equipment, a hefty PC, and all peripherals, this unit took it all in stride. It regulates the flow of electricity very well, handling power sags and spikes with ease. My only complaint is that the ports are close together and any plugs that deviate from the standard style of plug can take up two or more very valuable spots. I initially inteded to give it four stars for this reason, but the compact size and robust runtime without power earn the star back. Under a full load with max power consumption, this unit will give me about 35-40 minutes of runtime, more than enough time to allow me to properly shutdown all of my equipment. This unit weighs in with a price tag of sub $300, and I highly recommend it to anyone with expensive equipment to protect that wants a compact, quiet UPS solution. To give a sense of scale, I took some pictures with my hand to show how truly compact this little beast is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great new UPS I am using this product as a replacement to an older model. I like how it is now smaller, and yet delivers the same amount of time on battery power. Another great addition is 2 usb ports on the front, one being a USB C port. This is very handy for me since my systems only has one USB C port, on the back of the tower. I have a very power hungry system, and with 2 monitors, so having about 19 minutes of backup time is very comforting. I have been using for a week, and so far no complaints, if that changes will update review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Problems right out of box! This unit did not protect my computer from a power failure. As soon as the power went out, my computer shut off, even though the APC remained on. It appears that the factor setting is at the lowest sensitivity which means it will not protect your computer! Why would they do that? It is ridiculous! I have contacted the company, given written directions that did not work. I exchanged the unit for another one but the problem is still there! I will do a follow up when I get a better unit from another company or if the problem is finally resolved.
