Know your gear

Ideal for home/corporate security systems, home theaters, trade shows and other digital signage applications, the B110-SP-POE protects connected equipment from damage caused by lightning, electrostatic discharge (ESD) and cable discharge events. Just connect it between your source and network equipment using Cat5/5e/6 cables, such as Tripp Lite's N001-Series snagless patch cables (sold separately). Note: two B110-SP-POE surge protectors are required to protect both source and device.

Solid-state silicon-avalanche diode technology features low clamping voltage, providing superior protection against ESD and super-fast response time under one nanosecond. Both mid-span and end-span PoE are supported. The B110-SP-POE meets the following IEC/EN regulations: IEC 61000-4-2 / IEC 61000-4-5 (ESD) 30kV (Air, Contact) and EN 61000-4-5 (Lightning) 5kA (8/20µs) / 4kV (10/700µs).

This PoE in-line surge protector meets 802.3af and 802.3at IEEE standards, while supporting data transmission speeds up to 1 Gbps. No software, drivers or external power supply is required. The compact metal housing is designed to endure in applications where static discharge is likely to occur. Mounting hardware is included for convenient installation where needed. Be sure the distance between the B110-SP-POE and the equipment it is protecting is no more than 300 feet.

The B110-SP-POE is compliant with the Federal Trade Agreements Act (TAA), which makes it eligible for GSA (General Services Administration) Schedule and other federal procurement contracts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For Google fiber service in my apartment I bought it for my 100Mbps download speed and 100Mbps upload speed Google fiber connection between my Google fiber modem/router and the fiber jack which is a POE connection in which the jack is powered by the router. The router and connected devices are plugged into Tripp Lite surge protectors as is required for the warranty. The way I had it configured before, after I upgraded my internet plan from 5Mbps/1Mbps I wasn't able to get the full bandwidth with the 100Mbps RJ45 surge protection on the surge protector power strip between my ethernet connected OpenBSD DMZ server (with intrusion protection, pf firewall, blocking DNS service, etc.) and the local VPN protocol connected wireless computing devices connected to the router; which makes an incoming connection bounce off of the DMZ server Ethernet connection in both directions making 200+ Mbps lan connection necessary to achieve the full speeds. And if I upgrade to full gigabit service the POE surge protector won't be what's limiting my bandwidth! I "installed" the device on an outlet which I verified was grounded, but which powers on and off with the living room light switch, so it can't be used to plug in anything but lights. And I'm pretty sure my landlord would kill me if I drilled this thing into the wall! I'm pretty glad I found this thing! Other than your 10Gbps signage Ethernet protector, I don't seem to see anything else like it! Thanks Tripp Lite!!!!
