I wanted something that I could take pictures and also record 4k video for events and shows. I never owned a high end camera before so I had to view a lot of youtube videos so I have a better understanding of what the Camera can do. I am using the kit lens it came with and I am amazed with the quality ($300 lens). I can't wait to upgrade to a G or GM lens so I can take my work to the next level. Highly recommend this camera if you know what you are doing !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great low-light, no XQD Trhe best low-light camera I have ever owned. Also it’s hugely customizable. The only complaint I have is that it doesn’t have an XQD card slot, which seems to be what the industry is moving towards. Whereas card write speed isn’t the most important thing, it’s still an important thing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow! Finally a camera that I am pleased with! So I have had it only a week and the testing I have done so far puts my Canons to shame. I do not say this lightly as I have been using Canon's for 25+ years and I am extremely fussy about file quality. I own or have owned nearly everyone of the Canon pro line of cameras - except the 1dxMarkII. With my line of work (full-time portrait & wedding photographer)I needed a camera that was lighter, responsive and one that excels at night time shooting. As many of my portrait sessions are at night - I need clean files at high iso and a camera that can focus. This Sony A7III is just what I have been waiting for. The bonus, my EF lenses work beautifully (1.2 and 1.4's) Now the questions is A9 or pick up an A7IIIR or the A7IV? Thanks Sony for creating such a wonderful product!

Camera operation is easy to learn and customization options for buttons and My Menu work great. The only thing that I would like is for the grip to be larger for all four fingers to hold the camera

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So happy I switched to mirriorless fullframe! I brought this camera about 4 months ago and so happy I did. I was skeptical about switching to mirrorless as my old camera was aps-c dslr. The first huge thing I noticed was the autofocus working just as well while using the monitor as if I was using the viewfinder. This was huge for being able to get low to the ground shots. I'm not a professional by any means but I can see this being used by a professional easily. The focusing is amazing with sony native lenses. I had some issues trying to adapt canon ef mount dslr lenses to the camera due to them not being usable for video but that isn't an issue with the camera by any means. There is so many good things to say about this camera. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

It is light weight and easy to use. All my old lenses work with this camera with an added adapter. This camera has improved battery life. I tried an A7II and the battery life was not good. I love this camera.

I have used these for years during high school as these were the mules we used for our broadcast and yearbook classes/electives and they are always such a joy and pleasure to use! and now owning my own I can confirm, from shooting and taking pictures just with the stock lens as I say makes me love this camera a little more every day!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Camera by Sony This camera is all around an amazing value, Sony has done a great job making it such a premium camera at a great price. The silent shooting, joystick and burst capabilities make this such a worthwhile upgrade coming from an older crop body. I couldn't get a camera near as good of a value in the full frame form factor from any other brand, maybe unless I wanted to switch to Pentax. If Sony keeps it up they will be the top dogs in a few years as DSLRs wane in popularity and people want the latest and greatest in sensor technology. I'm glad I switched from Canon years ago to the E-Mount Alpha series and haven't wanted to look back since.
