Coming from the N450 model (2.1 stereo), the addition of the 3rd channel/center speaker adds to the directional audio ecperience. Scenes in movies and TV shows feel more intense. Very crisp and clear. The subwoofer is powerful for what it is. Bass is booming. I feel like I'm at a concert or in the studio when I'm playing music. I can feel the bass acrossed the house. It's deep and punchy. For the price, nothing beats this. Pairing my phone via Bluetooth is a breeze. The remote is easy to operate. What else can I say? I love this soundbar. Very Very happy with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sounds great, easy setup & Bluetooth connections I bought the B series 650 3.1 soundboard to upgrade my older soundboard that didn't have a subwoofer. The Samsung was very easy to connect to my older 65" Vizio TV, with the INCLUDED optical cable!!! I suggest you connect it that way (not via Bluetooth) if you are like me and want to stream music from your phone to the soundbar you need that Bluetooth connection open. It is in my bedroom and sounds AMAZING! My son has brought his Xbox in here and easily hooked it up via Bluetooth (I believe), it could've been from the wire to the TV. Idk. The sounds were incredible compared to my old one! It has a game mode, night mode & voice enhancement, plus a button for bass boost. The night mode quickly lowers (compresses) the bass) & volume; the VOICE ENHANCEMENT (my favorite) makes the voices clearer, so I can understand what they're saying. They state it optimizes the EQ & amplifies the dialogue on screen. You can also add additional wireless speakers if you want (purchased separately, Samsung brand). I'm very happy with my purchase, the sound is awesome & it connects easily to all of my devices.

I'll start with the not so good first that being not a loud sounding soundbar nor a thunderous punching sub. The remote radomly stops being able to turn the system on. Having used it over a month now I've been able to tweak the sound from the built in type of eq. I'm overall pleased with the sound quality and plan to add the rear speaker kit to complete the overall theater sound. I do recommend this Soundbar for anyone looking to get into the theater at home.

When we're watching a movie and have it turned up, the subwoofer will cut out. Hopefully Samsung will address this issue. I'm gonna do some research and see if there is a upgraded subwoofer that will work with the soundboard system.

I didn't know they were not trustworthy at the time. They had ordered some of these that were not manufactured to be sold in the United States. I had no clue what was going on. Finally, I got my money back. I then reordered from another company closer through Amazon. I already had the wireless speakers so I needed to order Samsung again. The new one came in. It was a breeze to set up and even looked newer for some reason plus the box was not all torn up. Once it was all set up it was time to hear it. Wow! It sounds great. I was worried about how concerts would sound with it. It is perfect. The bass can be low or even and the highs are perfect. You can make adjustments to sound like you want it to. If you are wanting to do something with the sound and cannot figure it out go online and you will find the answer. It is that easy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Okay Was a hassle to set up the HDMI arc. The HDMI arc input sounds skippy so I have to use the optic cable option. I can’t find anywhere online that helps me resolve the issue. I tried a different HDMI cable as well. Disappointed.

The surround sound effect is great and often has me looking around to see if it's coming from the program I am watching or somewhere else. The base is especially good. You can't go wrong with this one.

Various adjustments and preset tone levels make for an unbelievable sound experience without all the extra speakers . Surround sound is almost like being in a cinema. Most Samsung products are solid but it seems like their soundbars have a ton of issues regardless of the model. Customer service is very helpful though

I checked all of the 5.1 wireless systems in my price range. I originally wanted the Q900,but could not see myself paying 1,000 for a bedroom system. The 650 hits all the marks, I have a large bedroom and the sound is amazing. I am a long time Samsung user , even back to the note 4. This system definitely meets expectations. Even though the q series has more functions. This is the closest sound bar when it comes to clarity and functions. The center channel makes a huge difference.

This is our first soundbar and honestly surprised us how much of a difference it makes. Theater quality sound in your living room brings everything to the next level. My husband is hard of hearing and the directional sound allows him to enjoy media without having the volume set to max. I love the smart Bluetooth features that easily connect to my phone for music. Weirdly fun side feature: my cat loves sleeping on the soundbar.

To my dismay, this model doesn't support Q Symphony. Extremely disappointed that it isn't a standard feature on a high quality system.

I have read that they have had this problem for a while and have read other reviews with the same problem. Stay away from the HW-B650 sound bar. They offer to fix it which takes months and they can't figure it out. Buying from Best Buy sucks. Cause after 15 days it's yours. I will try to contact the better business bureau and see if they can help

It happens with every single setting whether its bluetooth, Arc, or optical. It seems to to be a common problem from searching online bjt no solution. Beware

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Sound, NO INSTUCTIONS. Bought this the other day and it is amazing. The ONE draw back is THERE IS NO INSTRUCTION MANUAL. You get a paper that tells you whats what, but NOTHING on how to hook it up. I screwed around for an hour and a half just plugging this in there, nope, then this into that, until I just got lucky. I think the fact we just bought a new Samsung TV helped as it recognized it. I have to say I almost took it back. Samsung, spend the extra 10 cents and add instructions on how to install it.

The status lights on the woofer face the wall, not me, and the directions for pairing lack necessary detail in step 1. Choosing Bluetooth in the TV menu shows no woofer — or any other device. Maybe I can get Best Buy geek squad to come and complete the install…All I’ve got so far is the same sound through the bar that previously blurted out the back TV speaker.

Have had great experience with Samaung aoundsrs in the past, but was missing a dedicated center channel in my previous model. I also wanted great sound without the need for rear speakers. I can say this model has ticked those boxes. For streaming music it had clear sound with great bass. Solid for small videos on YouTube as well. On some streaming platforms (prime video) voices can be a little more muted which means a volume increase, however the voice comes through clearly. Great model to purchase if you want to go a step above the base model.

The sound quality is just stellar, offering clear and accurate sound that truly enhanced my viewing experience. It pairs so well with my Samsung TV, and I adore the Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS features which provide a rich, multi-dimensional sound. The BASS Boost is another favorite feature of mine, bringing a robust depth to music and movies alike. I also appreciate the inclusion of a built-in center speaker and a subwoofer, which really take the audio quality to the next level. While the display on the soundbar is a tad small, it’s nothing that bothers me much as I got used to the functionality pretty quickly. I am not technologically savvy, so my nephew installed it for me. As you can see, it was very easy to do for someone who knows how to install. Ok, on to the review, did I say, wow! Sitting on the couch listening to my tv with this sound that seems to go all around me no matter how I turn my head. It is like the sound moves with me. The thump of the bass is just right coming from the subwoofer, no matter what your watching sports, drama movie filled with suspense or loud action-packed movies. The overall sound is perfect as it adjusts to nighttime mode, so it doesn’t annoy my neighbors, yet you don’t lose any of the powerful speech that comes from the soundbar. It does have Bluetooth connectivity however I was having an issue connecting it, so we used the optical cable. Either way, I feel like I am in a movie theatre watching an action-packed movie with the speakers on the wall without leaving my home. I never knew that you could have this great sound coming from such a small speaker and subwoofer. Intense in a great way! Samsung is a staple in my household, from appliances to electronic devices. This product holds up to that name perfectly. I am sure you won’t be disappointed with this amazing product. Thank you, Samsung, for offering the HW-B650 Soundbar and Subwoofer. Hands down, the best product by far in tv entertainment.

Ok so the audio from the soundbar is delayed soo why would this only have a delay setting that delays it more? That makes NO SENSE. You should have a button that moves the audio back in time. I am using a Samsung TV and theres no setting to delay the video so what am I to do?

The wireless sub-woofer puts out enough base to fill the porch. Does not compare to our 9.1 system in our living room. But awesome for a small space for added sound vs. the TV speaker. Especially for the price point for this sound bar I did have to make and modify the mount to connect to the bottom of the TV's articulating bracket. All in all, Great little sound bar. Plus I have had to deal with Samsung customer support on other products, and have to say, they are AWESOME to deal with..

Replaced the receiver/speakers with this soundbar. It's seamlessly integrated with the TV. I use the optical link and the soundbar automatically turns on and off with the TV. For normal use, the TV or FIOS remote controls the volume via the TV. The subwoofer is powerful and I had to set it for -6dB (old ears here). Rear channel amp and speakers will be my next purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound, still having trouble configuring i am happy with this purchase, however, i am still having trouble getting the sound "just right". i am using an hdmi arc connection from my tv to sound bar. when i display "info" it says i am 2.1 surround. i can't figure out how to configure it properly to get 3.1 surround, which is what it is supposed to have. also, can't adjust surround, bass, treble, center easily. have not been able to find documentation other than to "control setting through your samsung tv" - this soundbar is not connected to a samsung tv. overall, for the price, i recommend this, just wish it was easier to configure with an "on screen" configuration guide.

I didn't expect much for the price, but I really just wanted something as simple to operate as possible, and it delivers on that nicely. The degree to which I was surprised by this thing's performance in our bedroom cannot be overstated. Mounted to a sound bar extension attached to our TV's articulating wall mount, it really exceeded my expectations. It's not going to vibrate the house with explosions, but the bass is absolutely "punchy" as described. It does a very good job with imaging, effectively creating virtual speakers by bouncing sound off the walls. Again, it's not going to blow your hair back with bass output, but it's absolutely enough to sound full without sounding like it's working hard to do so. The only thing I give it for sound is that I'd have liked it to be a little sparklier with the tweeters. Like when glass shatters or whistle sounds

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good sound but the video blacks out now and then I bought a new HW-B650/ZA 3.1 channel Soundbar with Dolby 5.1 to work with my Samsung 55" NU6900 4K UHD TV from 2018. Sound is pretty good BUT video drops out every few minutes. Sometimes for just a few seconds, sometimes I have to stop and restart with the Roku remote control. Can someone explain why the Samsung SmartThings app doesn't support this new soundbar? When I try to add it so I can check the firmware version, the app says the QR code on the soundbar is unknown, and the drop-down list on the app doesn't show it either. Pairing a Samsung TV and soundbar is supposed to stop this level of poor quality interactions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for the Bedroom In our bedroom we always love streaming Movies/TV Shows and the occasional YouTube videos. Nothing wrong with the built in TV Speakers but definitely was missing clarity and bass. So I purchased this Soundbar and also got the Optional surround sound speakers (Samsung - SWA-9200S/ZA) I was blown away by how great the sound was. Way better sound than I'm used to. The bass that I placed under my bed really makes a huge difference for intense scenes and the surround sound speakers that connects wirelessly adds further immersion. Crazy how this Soundbar kit lets you add another 2 channels. Setup was good, took a little time but with some YouTube videos that Samsung posted, got it going rather quickly. Definitely would recommend for Small to medium sized rooms. *Hopefully will get the chance to try out another Kit from Samsung that can accommodate a much larger room. I'll post another review when given opportunity.

We have integrated the soundbar with a Roku television and Amazon Fire TV stick. It was a very easy interface to both devices. From experience with lesser sound bars, it was important to install a unit with sufficient bass capability as well as Dolby DTS options. We are very pleased with the sound quality and ease of hook-up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple and clear I use the sound bar as a stereo for my kitchen. Even my wife can use it with her phone. Power up, connect you phone and choose your music. Highs and lows are great, sounds like a much more expensive system with more than just 2 components.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like but it is flawed I use the sound bar on my Samsung Q series tv and with my Samsung phone via blue tooth feature. The problem is when I am watching TV, the sound bar will loose sound like it is resetting right in the middle of important information. And after 30 or more seconds, it comes back. This is the reason for my low score. The reason it has not gone lower is because the blue tooth connection with my phone is pretty good when I use it for music and the sound is great. I did a little research, and this seem like a known problem. I have tried the firmware, but this model did not have any. I ended up calling support. Did resets and nothing worked. It is past the return period for the store. The tech offered to send it in for repair. I am sad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awful sound glitches Bought this for Black Friday and it was fine until December 30th. Replaced HDMI cables for my Xbox and my Switch, to isolate the issue to the sound bar. Less than 3 weeks later, the sound bar is cutting out for less than 1 second, causing the audio to sound like it is skipping. Absolutely insane that, at this price point, it’s full of issues. To top it off, we bought a brand new Samsung 65inch TV - Samsung to Samsung shouldn’t be a problem, yet here I am….

The Samsung TV automatically make the connection seamless. The volume controls the soundbar with your regular TV remote. The soundbar also has hdmi and Bluetooth connections as well. The Bluetooth is ideal for your phone or tablet sound playback.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Soundbar and Subwoofer from Samsung I bought this product back in November or so when it was on sale at Best Buy for $100 off. At the time, I had a more basic $120 or so Samsung soundbar from Walmart, so I noticed as much of an immediate improvement in audio quality making the upgrade from that soundbar to this HW-B650 as I did originally moving on from my TV's somewhat lacking speaker quality. I'm not an expert, and while I imagine home theater sound systems that get into the upper hundreds and lower thousands in terms of price range are likely worth the further bells and whistles, I imagine one being content with what this soundbar provides for its more manageable price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sounds Great! But why is there always a but...? First and foremost, when it is setup and working it sounds phenomenal. I have been through 3 soundbars in the last 2 months (I'm a bit obsessive) and this was the one I landed on. The others (names will not be mentioned) were either under powered and finicky (random pops and clicks) or so bass heavy I bet my neighbors down the street heard it (I live in Atlanta so no one would've paid any mind). BUT there are 2 major issues I would like to mention that I wish I had known before purchasing. First off, I know this is my own fault for not reading fully but COME ON SAMSUNG don't start a product description with something the item DOES NOT HAVE!! The first 2 words in the description: 'Dolby Atmos...' Like I said tho, my fault for not reading. And 2nd, the HDMI input only supports HDCP 1.4 meaning, YUP... standard HD. No 4K for this soundbar. For the price... a little disappointing.

At the beginning of December, I purchased a Samsung HW-B650 Soundbar, a Samsung SWA-9200S Wireless Rear Speaker Kit and a Samsung QN85QN85BAFXZA Smart TV. I am still tweaking the system (sound) and find the documentation poorly lacking – if it is not incomplete, it is confusing! Additionally, I have a Spectrum supplied Arris DCX3600-M DVR/Cablebox connected to HDMI port 1 on my Smart TV. I am a retired IT professional and am using both a hardwired Ethernet Cable to my TV as well as having enabled a WiFi 5.0 connection to the same router. In addition to researching the Internet, I have read all 80 reviews here that were available at the time. The response to RichT’s comment regarding his “audio-sync issue” from the Samsung Brand Ambassador suggesting he utilize the “Pass-Through” feature, I found very helpful as I had the same issue and it is that response that encourages me to submit this detailed review. When reading all the reviews, I found other bits-and-pieces helpful, while others I found confusing. First, why are reviews regarding HW-B450 and HW-B550 Soundbars included here – because HW-B650 may demonstrate similar issues - to show improvement in the product line? Clarification addressing this would be helpful. Secondly, since a link to a digital version of the Full Owner’s Manual was given, why not add a “Notes Section” to the end of it and continually update it with an organized and edited synopsis of many of the threads that run though the responses to the reviews stated here to help ease the burden of doing haphazard, tedious and questionable research elsewhere? Thirdly, now points regarding the HW-B650 specifically to address and clarify: - Although “Pass-Through” seems to resolve my Audio-Sync issue, am I losing functionality that I may find more beneficial than having my lip-sync issues resolved? If so, what are they? - What specification is the 650’s ARC port – is it true HDMI 2.1 or more specifically eARC as is my TV? - Would I benefit from buying a new HDMI-eARC high speed / high bandwidth cable with Ethernet as I have found suggested elsewhere? - Is there any benefit to using both an HDMI-ARC and an Optical Cable simultaneously? * The sound from my 650 periodically/intermittently cuts out causing me to miss dialogue? * Often when switching from/to a cable show on my DVR to/from a show from a streaming service such as Netflix (whatever) the 650 makes a loud popping / cracking / staticy noise? Should I connect my Sony BluRay player to the HDMI port on my Smart TV or Soundbar? - If I do go through the time and exercise of setting my Sound Mode to “Standard” and manually adjusting my Sound Control for: * Night Mode * Voice Enhancement Are these settings kept or ignored/superseded when switching to another Sound Mode such as “Adaptive” or “DTS VIRTUAL:X”? * Similar question to what happens to configuring the "Equalizer"? - Is the same also true if I set the CH/Level or Tone Control and manually adjust each of “Speaker Volume” and/or the “Treble” and “Bass Volume Levels”? - How does setting the Bass (an/or Treble) volume levels affect each other when using: * Sound Mode “Base Boost” * Tone Control “Base (Treble) Volume” Up/Down * “Woofer Button” on the Remote? I like “Surround Sound” and “DTS VIRTUAL:X” but have some hearing issues and don’t want to lose dialogue to overpowering background sound. It would be nice to have some dialogue come out of my Rear Speakers which are now positioned closer to where I sit than is the Soundbar. If my manual selections are overruled/overwritten/superseded by particular Sound Modes, it would seem that this issue could be resolved by a Firmware Update. Sufficient detail on how these different settings interact is missing and sorely needed, and any clarification, answers, help and/or guidance would be greatly appreciate not only by me, but I am sure by others reading this post and Samsung's responses - THANKS!
