Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy with my new 500GB Samsung 860 EVO Hello, this is my 7th SSD from the Evo series with the previous ones being 2 840s 3 850s and 1 960, and like with all the other Samsung Evos I have had price/performance is stellar, I don't have any issues on this just like I didn't have any issues with my previous SSDS which I still have in raids etc. in my desktop computer, this one is just to add extra storage. Thanks for the reliable SSDs you make. It's the only Samsung products I buy, but it is also the best products Samsung makes. The design is kinda meh, but it's hidden away so it's no big deal to me. I vastly prefer the design of the M.2s but again, form factor makes this impossible to replicate.

They are fast and durable I have used them alot over and over and have never had a problem. Unlike other SSD's that have left me stuck starting over. Samsung is my 1st choice when it comes to SSD. Download the transfer software, transfer the data, install the SSD and finish the installation with Samsung Magician. All 5 of the computers are like a new machine! It is worth paying a few more bucks for the ease of installation.

I have nothing bad to say about this and funnily enough it's even faster than the advertised speed during benchmarks. The speeds dropped 5-10 MB/s after updating to the latest driver but it's still faster than advertised and like before, this was measured with a benchmarking tool and probably not noticeable in real life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Phenomenal Drive Very quick, purchased this one to replace my old 250gb 850 evo. Equivalent speeds with larger warranty on TBW. Using this as an intermediate drive to transfer my exported photos/videos before editing and storing them on my storage HDD which I will eventually replace with a 1TB (or larger) 860 evo. Cannot beat the price to performance for this drive. As I said, it's very quick especially with RAPID mode enabled. Zero hiccups, just performs like a champ.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great laptop update I replaced a really slow HDD in my Toshiba laptop with the 500Gb SSD, and it was so simple. Samsung's Data Migration s/w made the cloning process so easy. Instead of minutes to awaken from hibernation, it is now only seconds. I was so impressed I upgraded my brother-in-law's laptop (also with a very slow and old HDD) with with a second 860 EVO 500Gb SSD, with very similar pleasing results. I also really appreciate having the Magician monitoring s/w too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great SSD - Magician Issues This drive brought new life to the PC. The Samsung Magician software failed to recognize the Samsung SSD! I had to use another file transfer program to clone the drive. This was a problem that I found others had also experienced. Having overcome that issue, the drive performs flawlessly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Faster than a speeding HDD Nice SSD. Would have given all 5 stars but have only had in 1 day. Last SSD I tried locked me out twice in 2 days due to software migration flaws/glitches (not Samsung). They work fast when they work., until they don't. Samsung data migration easy to do and their Magician software helps keep the SSD current with updates and performance monitoring. You need a USB/SATA cable for data migration from your HDD to your SSD so be aware to shop around for one.

This latest drive is no exception. The Samsung migration software works well, however it would be nice to have some additional features.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great speed booster!! This drive has been a wonderful upgrade for some of our older service tech laptops. I am having boot times cut in half, at least. One computer went from about 20 minutes to 2! I am using software to clone the drive, so no data is lost and it takes me about an hour per machine. Super quick and super easy. Plus with the price I am able to not need to buy new hardware.
