Rated 5 out of 5 by from OUTSTANDING PROTECTION A little pricy, but better than insurance for breakage. I am 91 years old, with hand problems that cause me to drop my iPhone when getting in and out of the car as well as other places. I have used the Otter Box defender for several years. I sometimes drop it in parking lots 3 to 4 times a week. I finally cracked the plastic frame, but no damage to the phone. Customer service at the Otter Box web site is also outstanding. After spending too much time trying to find an exact replacement with on-line shopping I called Otterbox customer service. Within minutes the lady who answered found the exact replacement and it arrived before she had promised. One caveat: I already had a very good thick screen protector, so I had to remove the Otterbox screen protector because they are built to such tight tolerances for dust and moisture protection. Their screen comes off easily using a hair dryer. Undoubtedly I VOIDED any warranty, but from my perspective, 'Who needs a warranty with an Otterbox Defender"?

The phone has been dropped or fallen out of my pure/pocket multiple times. Had the battery changed at Apple recently and when the case was removed the inner part was cracked.. IPhone was in perfect shape. I love my phone!!! I love Otterbox Defender Series for protecting it so well over the years. Looking forward to many more!!!.

I needed a new case and bought this new one, and it's awesome!! They must have improved the contact area between the phone and the plastic cover...it's so nice! I love this series as it's so good for the phone...must have cover!

In a day when customer service is poor to non-existent with most companies Otterbox has on a few occasions proven to me that they are above the rest. They have always quickly resolved any problems, been very helpful and friendly on the phone, and the product has proven to care for my device on every drop including a full out running drop where I was certain my phone was broken.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Defending my iPhone 6s Plus I've been using the Defender series cases on my last 3 iPhones, the 4s, the 5c and now the 6s Plus. While the overall design has been the same, I've noticed some subtle changes that work very well. This new case seems very well polished and designed. It obviously adds some bulk to an otherwise large phone, but the extra bulk is worth it in my opinion. My only complaint is the customization option doesn't include a belt clip. I use the belt clip every day and find that's an essential accessory with this case. It should be included without an extra cost, just like the pre-packaged cases.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Astonishingly tough I work in construction, dropped my IPhone from 10 feet to a concrete floor - no problems. Accidentally ran over my IPhone with my half ton 4 wheel drive truck - nothing was damaged. Maybe it's just luck or the maybe the defender is just that good.

Got a call from someone who found it. I could tell from the dents in the front edges that it had actually been ran over by another vehicle....absolutely no damage to the phone. Will never use a different type of cover and have recommended it to my friends/family, especially my niece who's Samsung has a cracked screen.

I bought my first one when I purchased my IPhone 6 Plus because I work in Law Enforcement and needed a rugged durable case that also had a belt clip I can use on my duty belt. Finally after three years of use my belt clip broke and the rubber cover was showing signs of wearing out so I needed to purchase another one. I didn't consider any other brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my Otterbox... Was using a cheap clear case on my iPhone 6s Plus because I didn't want to hide its beauty. It broke and so I returned to my beloved otterbox defender. I love the security it gives me if I should drop my phone. This cover is tough and lasts. It feels very secure in my hands---no slippage. I love the belt clip/kickstand. However, the defender does come with sacrifices: The screen protector negatively affects touch sensitivity. I have to press harder and sometimes several times to open a link, etc. The beveled edge interferes with the little arrow at the top left of phone that allows you to go back and forth between screens. It also prevents me from getting to the alphabets on the right side of screen in Contacts. The back cover with the clip must be removed to get to the slots for charging cable and aux cable. The rubber slot covers are also too stiff and it takes several attempts to get cables in them. But, with all these negatives, this is still the best cover on the market for me; and, I have tried many in all price ranges.

I picked up my phone hoping for the best, expecting the worse and after I cleaned up the phone, everything was just fine. I am so glad I purchased the OtterBox. I can also hold on to the phone better. On the frustrating side, I really had to struggle to get the two pieces apart. I had to warm it up a little to make the back part more pliable to get off. And I can't use the thumbprint to open the phone anymore. I don't mind putting in my code, but just to let you know. I love the OtterBox! I highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Defender Case for 6S Plus iPhone Nicer design than the Defender case for my old 5S iPhone. Thus far the new 6S Plus Defender case seems sturdier than my old 5S case. The rubber flaps to access the iPhone plug jacks are better made and open in the opposite direction vs the older case. Hopefully that should help keep the outer rubber case from separating from the hard plastic under shell, like what happened with my older 5S case. One note to be aware of: When I first got my new case and I was installing it, there is a very thin plastic piece over the home button. I thought it was supposed to be removed, but it is not meant to be removed. It is meant to keep the dust out. There weren't any mention of it in the instructions, so don't try to peel it off!

The screen is hard to clean in the corners. However, it does protect the phone very well. Its a good investment just think it needs a few tweaks to be the perfect case.

I like that the belt clip can be used as a kickstand, but would prefer that the case itself had a built in kickstand. I bought the black one again, but wish there was a greater variety of designs available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Protection I've depended on Otterbox for years. Lets face it, an Apple phone costs a bunch of money. A GOOD protective cover is sensible. I am careful, but accidents happen. When I dropped my phone, I cringed thinking of the damage I was expecting. Pleasantly, I had none. The Otterbox is expensive, but well worth an investment. Too bad it costs more to get a two tone color, but that's life. YES, I would recommend this to anyone who wants to actually protect their phone.

First it's durable and comfortable in my hands. Secondly, is that the screen protector of whole otterbox case in which that I have now is better than the Customize cases in which the costumer allowing to there color. And finally the one that I have now is more than I have before. In conclusion, I have nothing to worry about this case, it gives for comfortable.

The thickness of my phone with the cover is very close to the same thickness as my sister-in-laws phone (same as mine) with a Speck case. I will also say that the phone feels like it fits much tighter in the case now, making me feel like it is more secure in there, not shaking around. Overall I am happy with my case, I just wish it was a little cheaper and there were better color selections.

Did take the plastic screen cover out and use the tempered glass screen protector from my carrier. Like the holster too. You can put the phone in the holster screen in or screen out. The holster clip/kickstand allows you to set the phone down for hands free use! A little bulky but the protection is totally worth it. Considered the leather choice, it was very attractive, but needed the holster for better all-around functionality.

Have already had to replace a few users' phones in my organization (some more than once in one calendar year), and seeing what they must pay to replace a damaged handset is insane. Therefore, the cost of this kit - although several times the cost of cheaper options - is money well-spent to protect myself from accidental (stupid user) loss.

It comes with a belt clip, but I'm not a middle aged dad. I also have more issues with the fingerprint button now.

I saw the various Otterbox models at a local store but didn't like their color selection. Found that I could order the color of my choice or a custom color directly from Otterbox. I chose the Defender for its durability and belt clip. I use the belt clip during the day and just the cased phone after hours and on weekends. Shipping arrived earlier than expected. Assembly was very easy and all functions and ports are still available. Good choice so far!

I don't have to be careful with it. I don't have to have a heart attack every time I drop my phone worrying I've cracked the glass. I love the built in screen protector because I hate those clingy things that you put on to protect the screens. There's always a bubble or something that annoys me. Cons: makes phone a built bulky, but It's worth it for the protection imo i can't see my pretty rose gold phone... screen protector gets scratched easily moisture seeps under built in screen protector

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pros and cons to the classic black case I purchased this case less than a year ago and it did have some very good positives and it also had some very bad negatives. I'm going to start with the good and lead into the bad. The case was very accommodating to my busy lifestyle and survived many drops to the case itself. The case definitely protects your phone with the 3 layers of protection. That honestly sums up the positives. The case was honestly too bulky and was heavy because of its durable build to it. The phone I had was an iPhone 6 and the case had a protective film over the home button that allowed you to use Touch ID, and over time I noticed it became less and less affective and harder to use. The biggest problem I faced was the rubber part of the case tearing and in a sense peeling off, so because of that I got a warranty claim because the case wasn't cheap. Here's the thing I would not have gotten the warranty if I didn't trust their products to begin with. i trust otterbox fully don't get me wrong, I feel as if their negatives are worth the hassle because it does FULLY protect your phone and doesn't risk damage to the device itself. I have 2 otterbox products, the defender and the commuter cases, I love both and will continue to purchase from otterbox for the sake of protecting my phone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seriously... buy this. Honestly, I love that my iPhone 6 Plus is so thin. But after using a different case and a glass protector, I dropped it once and it shattered. Luckily I had insurance on it! When I got my replacement phone, I ordered this case from Otterbox. Yes, it's kind of bulky. But seriously, I've dropped my phone probably 10+ times over the past year and a half, and this case has kept it safe. Not even the smallest crack has formed. There's been times I've dropped my phone and thought "There's no WAY it didn't crack this time." Sure enough, I pick it up and it's fine! The case itself does have some signs of wear and tear (very minor) but I've had it for almost two years. It's an incredible value. Buy it!

Force touch and Touch I.D. work without issue. 2)Aftermarket Lightning chargers and headphone jack fit in the case's respective portals and perform without issue. 3)Surprisingly, the case isn't as bulky as I expected. Here's what I don't like about the Defender for the iPhone 6s Plus case: 1)People complain to me that phone audio sounds muffled. 2)The rear case. I know I own an iPhone. I don't need to show off the Apple logo on the rear of the phone. 3)The Defender is not waterproof, nor does it claim to be. I just wish it was.

Nonetheless, I am not a fan of the plastic covering over the phone, it is not sensitive enough and I really wish it wasn't even there. I can take it off, but I am concerned it would impact any warranty. Also, with the iPhone 6s Plus, it's just too bulky of a case. I had it for the iPhone 6s and that was fine, but the case makes the larger phone so larger it's not even comfortable for a male to put in his pocket. I am not a fan of using a belt clip so I am stuck with how to carry it.

I am a girl and don't care for the bulkiness of that case (or the clip) in particular. Okay, Ill be completely honest...I bought the Defender case for my husband because needless to say, he is extremely rough with his iphone. (Sadly, he doesn't like it with the EXTRA screen protector since we always get a tempered glass cover.) The 2 prior iphones the 4S and 5S I used the "Commuter" case. Loved them!! I also appreciate/appreciated how OtterBox GUARANTEED me a new case after I emailed over a few photos of the broken one and I received a brand new Commuter case within 72 hours! So for my iphone 6S Plus, I purchased the new "Statement" case. I love it very much!!! I am just happy to have a new iphone!

Only an Otterbox Defender case can protect my brand new iphone like no other case on the market. All of us drop our phones from time to time. Because these phones just go everywhere with us, if you have not yet dropped your iphone, you eventually will. With a Defender case, you will worry much less about damaging your phone. It's a little bulky, but it beats having to shell out another grand to buy a new phone. I have never owned an iphone without it's corresponding Otterbox Defender Case.

We did lots of research to find a sturdy 360 case and Otterbox had some great reviews. While I haven't yet experienced a phone being dropped while in the Otterbox (which is why I can't yet give 5 stars) I can clearly see how much better protected the phones are compared to other cases we've tried.

After over a year of hard use, I removed the phone from the case to clear it before trading it in for an iPhone 4s. The 3Gs was in virtually new condition - not one scratch or ding - after having been dropped more times than I can remember. Got an OtterBox Defender for the 4s. Kept the 4s much longer than I intended. When I removed it from the case to clear it before trading it in, I found it to be in virtually new condition. Recently ordered a new iPhone 6s plus, which I won't receive for another 2 to 3 weeks. I've already ordered and received a new OtterBox Defender for it. Obviously I haven't used the new case yet, but it is just as well designed and sturdy as the previous two I've had. I expect it to protect my new iPhone just as well as the other two cases protected the iPhones I put in them. The OtterBox Defender is not inexpensive, but you definitely get what you pay for: the best protection you can get for your expensive phone. At my recommendation, some of my family members have bought OtterBox Defenders and they too are 100% satisfied with them. The first thing they do when they buy a new phone is to order the OtterBox Defender made for it. They add a little bulk and they're not stylish, but if protection is what you're looking for, nothing beats an OtterBox Defender.

I had an otter box for my Samsung, and it fit perfectly. The screen protector on my iPhone 6s plus, however, doesn't sit flush on the screen and I have to smack the screen with my fingers to make contact. I do love the color and the protection, just poor screen cover fit.

It has protected the phones I have owned over the years against drops even on a hard tile floor and against minor splashes where there are port covers or covered by the case. The one I have now in Hibiscus Frost (Pink & White) for the iPhone 6s Plus has a soft back that makes it easy to grip and keeps it from sliding around on the surface when placed on its back. I like that the pink has a touch of sparkle to it as well. Sometimes the pink will get a little discoloration. I have been able to get that off with a little rubbing alcohol and a soft cloth or Mr. Clean sponge. Do not use this on the screen protector though. I like that I can build my own case too. My only wish is that they make the "Preserver" series for the model of phone I have. It was one of the best waterproof cases I have ever owned.

Several years ago I averaged a phone a year due to personal damage and neglect now that I have owned an OutterBox I won't have one without it and these things are amazing! My phones are dropped, kicked, and shared with several grandchildren..sometimes all 3 things at once! I didn't even mention its life at work being dropped on gravel and in mud :( I can't county how many times these things have saved my phone. The one on my IPhone 6s Plus now seems not as thick as the one on the IPhone 5 maybe its just me and the phone size makes the case seem less intrusive. Also, I don't know how they cradle it in that hard protection but wrap it in a soft skin that's user friendly but THANK YOU for doing it :)

My purchases have included cases for each and every IPhone and my original IPad. Presently, I have an IPhone 6 Plus and when I purchasre the IPhone X, I will buy another Defender. Why? Because Otterbox products, without a doubt, give the best production for any device. My choice has always been the Defender series. It feels good in my hand and makes the phone very easy to grip. How anyone can purchase a new phone, without an Otterbox for protection, is beyond me. Any phone is just too slippery to hold and It is no wonder when folks drop them and they break, without an Otterbox. Here is a photo of my original First generation I pad, with 3 of my iphones, (can’t remember the exact models) plus my 6 Plus that I used to take the pic, and have purchased 2 Defenders for the 6 Plus. Never got rid of my devices, but kept them all! So, if anyone wants to protect their investment, Otterbox is the only choice. Plastic frame was broken rubber case was stretched to the limits, couldn't see through protective screen but it managed to keep my $900 iphone looking brand new. It lasted about 3 years of skiing, painting business, mountain biking, golf Anne hiking. Finally I replaced it about 2weeks ago. Best case for active people.

Compared to the defender case I have for my iPhone 4, I could drop that one all the time and doesn't break. But this new defender case design for the iPhone 6 Plus, is way to slim. Yes the old design was thicker and big. That it'll just make the iPhone 6 Plus more bulky. I wouldn't care. As long as I trusted the old design better, that's all that matters.

I love it the moment I read and watch all the reviews online. I know it's big and bulky but I'm not bothered by it. My only concern was the plastic cover would not protect the screen upon direct impact on the screen itself. One of my colleague broke his iphone screen despite having a tempered glass on. So I took a gamble and bought Patchworks ITG Full Cover tempered glass to erase my concern. I took off the plastic cover and both perfectly complement each other. I'm well aware that this would void my warranty but for me it's always better to be safe than sorry. The reason I did not get otterbox alpha glass instead is due to lack of important info like whether it is 9H scratch resistant. I'm very particular about important information like this and lack of one would definitely won't make it into my target list. I would love see if otterbox can come out with a video showing their alpha glass can withstand direct impact from a drop on a pointy object. That would definitely raised the confidence in buyer to buy their product.

Removing the Defender case from the package it was again obvious something heavy was placed on my package, The phone case was distorted. I am battling keeping the outer case engaged properly. It is as if the rubber retains a new memory of being squished. It seems to be getting better. I routinely must re engage the outer case. I know this is not the fault of Otter. This relates directly to how my package was handled/shipped to me. The new defender phone case was placed in what I would say. Was a heavy duty cardboard envelope. This alone should have told people to handle with care. I do not wish to return this case. I think over time the case will be as designed. Overall I think this is the best protection I could get for my phone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Protection I've been using these Defender models for years. Unfortunately these phones are not getting less expensive as they have become essential in my work. Between being dropped, soaked, sat on etc. its peace of mind. I actually smiled as I switched out my 2+ year old case that was so chewed up I could barely see the screen much less use it. Now its like having a brand new phone again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tough vs Touch Best feature: toughness. Belt clip works very well; other brands belt clip breaks within several months of purchase. Worst feature: loss of Touch ID on iPhone. Covering over finger button is too thick to allow Touch ID to work. Also, have to really press around the edges of the screen to type Q, P, or Space.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For the prire, it is very good! Overall, I like the case very well! There are only two cons that I have with the case. 1) Moisture finds it way into the case very easily. If you are doing anything that causes you to sweat, I have found that there always seems to be condensation on the inside of the clear Apple logo window on the back of the case. 2) The Built-In Screen Protector. This is only a minor con, but I feel that the built-in screen protector should be a bit more durable. It scratches very easily and is a HUGE finger/smug magnet!

I have dropped my phone frequently and although accept this is a little reckless my phone remains unscathed,Everything about the build quality is excellent and the higher price paid is definitely worth it .

I have dropped my phone on several occasions and the Otterbox has saved it. I don't feel secure without having my phone in it. One of my Otterbox cases even with stood the drool of my baby niece as she teethed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Protection I drop my phone a LOT, so I am so glad I got this case. When I do drop it, I don't have to worry anymore, and it takes away some stress. The one thing I dislike about this case is that I am a lover of glass screen protectors, and this one has plastic. The tape over the touch ID is kind of annoying and is an eyesore, but i guess as long as my phone is protected right?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy but affects call quality I bought this for my boyfriend and he loves how sturdy it is, but ever since he put it on his phone it has become almost impossible to hear each other when we call. On both ends everything sounds muffled so we end up having to scream into our phones in order to hear each other. It's a very protective case made with high quality material but it's just so thick that it covers the mic and speaker. Unless you have a job that requires a heavy duty phone case, I would definitley recommend getting a different style otterbox.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big and bulky I purchased this case knowing that it is bigger than most cases available for the Iphone 6+s. I have have an otterbox for all of my Iphones since I have found this brand. I love that it comes with a clip as I need it on a daily basis. The major thing that makes the case okay is that the case itself is large and heavy. It over doubles the wieght of the phone. If they made a lighter smaller case with a clip i would pay more for it.

Only negative was the 1st gen Fingerprint cover wasn't "form-fitting" enough, which has now been addressed. Other than that, the case is flawless. It's fully waterproof (it slipped out of my shirt pocket into the toilet on one occasion). I actually left the phone, face-up on the bumper of a hatchback auto and closed the hatch onto it. I slammed the hatch with enough force to fully close the hatch. The only damage done were shallow intentions on the left and right side of the frame where the hatch closed on it. I constantly ride the NYC Subway and see people still using an iPhone with a shattered screen. What are they thinking?

I was very disappointed when I had to call and inform customer service the Indigo Blue interior case is a horrible blue, not reflecting on what is on the site to purchase. Also color selection is terrible, people have to look at this case all day for a year or two.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this case Just bought the IPhone 6s Plus and decided to get the best case to protect my phone, did some research and found out otter box is the best. So I bought the defender series case and it did not disappoint. Very comfortable feel to the case without hiding the fact that it's an iPhone while still feeling reliable enough to survive a fall. Honestly don't use the belt clip much cause it looks weird having my phone out there but it's still very cool, I love the fact that it doubles up as a stand. Would highly recommend!!

Mine goes in and almost never comes out except for an occasional cleaning. I have never broken a iPhone! And I am rough on them for sure!

It fit perfectly but after little over a month I noticed that there were smudges on the screen and I could not remove them. I hate have that because whenever I look at my screen it is that which I notice all the time. I called Otter customer service and they were great. They are going to replace it with another and all I paid was the shipping fee. I wish that the screen protector was a little better quality than it is but I still rate the product a 5 because it works.

Someone had bumped into me and my phone went flying down three flights of concrete stairs. There wasn't even a scratch on my phone. I had the defender on then and I've never turned back. I work for a cell phone company and otter box is the first case I recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top notch in my books This is my second case for my my I-Phone 6-plus. I bought it when I first purchased my I-Phone 6-plus. It served me well, but due to excessive use on my phone, the rubber casing began to loosen (stretch) and the tabs fell off. Nevertheless it continued to serve me well. Finally, it was no use, more an hindrance, so I decided to replace. When I began to review my papers so I could order a new Otterbox, I found that according to my purchase contract the warranty noted\, it would be replaced free within 7 years. When I applied this fact, I was denied the new replacement. As my I-Phone was now becoming obsolete, but I am awaiting the new release, I went ahead and replaced the Otter box cover anyhow. While I am recommend the Otterbox products to my friends and relatives, I will be sure to advise them that don't depend on the warranty clause, as Otterbox will simply ignore it. Will I purchase a different cover when I upgrade? I will do my research on the products as well as the honorable acceptance of warranties offered by the companies with which I will deal. William K. Yet time and again Otter Box protects her phone from receiving any damage. Her old case still worked but looked awful. Do not trust your expensive phone to any other protection than Otter Box!

He said they all use Otterboxes and everyone’s phone has lived through smoke, fires, water and being dropped repeatedly. I’m so glad I listened to him. I’m on my second OtterBox now, my first lasted 4yrs and kept my phone like new. OtterBox has outlasted my iphone6. Thank you for such a quality product.
