Protection great, color is ehh....
Great protection as expected from Otterbox. The problem I have is the color choices. I chose this Fort Blue color but it's lighter than what it shows in pictures online. I can deal with that but why so limited amount of color choices for Samsung? I know the answer, Apple sells more products. But really, this case I bought would look better if the inner core was not off white and just black.

I can't imagine having a phone without a OtterBox
I don't think I would have a phone without OtterBox protection. When I get a new phone, I don't use it until the case is on it. Thanks for making the Defender Pro!

Great case for protection while still keeping the phone light as possible. Holster can rattle a little while walking sometimes but other than that a great case. I always buy Otterbox for its quality and warranty.

There is no height to the sides of the case. Your screen will have direct contact when put face down. And if you drop it, there is no height on the sides to protect your screen. The otter case for my S5 was perfect. Theyve definitely changed and not for the better

Otterbox is my only choice
This is the only case I will use on my phone. My last phone was in perfect condition after 6 years, so when I upgraded my phone, I had to go with another Otterbox. The protection is outstanding.

I somehow always drop my phone and of course the front, edges and back crack. Being tired of my husband telling me I don't know how to take care of my phone I decided to try the Defender case.
The case surrounds my new Galaxy S22 with protection from getting dings, cracks, or other damage. The plastic and rubber surface really protects the phone. The rubber feel of the outside actually helps me to keep a good grip on my phone. It also comes with a holder to attach phone to your hip. I love this case and give it 10 STARS!

Super protection but too sticky.
Loved the 4X military drop protection but it was too sticky, so I opted for the 3X military-rated protection Commuter model instead as it slides in and out of pockets easier.

Best case I have ever purchased
Being an exhausted mom of 3, I spaced it and left my phone on the hood of my car while getting the kids buckled in. Completely forgetting my phone was there I drove off. It wasn't until I turned and lost Bluetooth connection that I realized my mistake- I looked in my review mirror and watched my phone get run over by several cars in the middle of an intersection. But wouldn't you know! As I pulled over and ran out (safely my phone was FINE! No cracks, no scratches.. I really couldn't believe it, a total miracle!

Defensive as ever
Its got the same defensive quality as it ever had but now it doesn't have the screen protector as before. I'm not as comfortable using a screen protector thats just a piece of film covering the screen but there wasn't a choice to get one like before.

A solid case with one annoying design flaw.
Overall I'm pleased with the construction quality as I am with all Otterbox cases. That being said, the cover on the charging port flips up rather than down which is a mild inconvenience.

I wanted a soft case that resisted sliding off my truck seat, knee or out of my hand. The hard clip works with the phone facing in (protected) or out (visible). I don't use the hard clip, preferring a vest pocket and screen towards my chest. It fits the pocket.

Not very pleased at all
The little black plug over the charging port didn't last long at all before it fell off. Rubber also separates from the plastic anytime I use any of my buttons on the right side. Not very happy at all

Disappointed with the design
My disappointment lies with the holster and how the phone is indexed to it. For reference, I wear the phone on my right side. When releasing the phone from the holster, I must rotate the phone 180° to use it. If a revision is made to relocate the snap on the holster and the LH case detent, you could accommodate both LH and RH users.

Doubting the Quality
Look, as I write this review, I'll be buying this case for a second time. Word for word, this is what I wrote when I placed a new order for the warranty was:
"I dropped my phone from the edge of my bed one day (lower than waist height, about 70cms), and my case broke at the edge even though the phone fell flat on its face. I had the case for less than a month at the time (I got a new phone the same day), and I had never dropped it prior to this. "
The hard plastic took a big hit on the edge for some reason, and I was completely baffled. This would make the second Otterbox case I had to replace in less than three years. I'm not big on the outdoors or anything, so it's even more disappointing.
I've been buying from this company since before I even knew about their policies, so I'm willing to try again with them. I really did enjoy their cases on my other phone (and the replacement they sent for that one is holding up through a sticky two-year-old!). However, I'll be submitting a complaint if I have to deal with a SECOND broken phone case this time next year (or any time before then).

I am bad with forgetting I have a phone. I left my phone on top of a work truck and had my phone fly off going 85 mph. My phone survived and was recovered all due to otterbox!

Tough as nails Defender case, no screen protector
As expected, tough as nails Defender case but no screen protector. I really liked the screen protector from my previous four Defenders I owned and was disappointed this had no screen protector. I did actually drop it from height onto concrete, it landed on one corner and bounced once and settled face-down. No damage.

Not a fan of this new case for the S22. I have owned many OtterBox cases as I work commercial construction and they all have outlasted the phones in most cases. This case however is loose on the phone body, and most annoying the phone can only click into the holder one way as the buttons on the phone get in the way of clicking it in from both sides. I've already had the phone pop out of the case twice. Once while belly crawling through an attic space and was unable to take photos once I reached my destination, because I had no phone. I had to back track my way back out searching for the phone the whole time. Not impressed.

Love Otterbox cases...but....
I love Otterbox. I always have a Otterbox case on just about every phone I have ever owned. But I have noticed something different with how the holster functions. The little notch that clicks the phone into the holster is not in the dead center anymore.The way I wear it makes the phone sit in the wrong way for me. I have to put it in with the buttons up so that I can answer with my right hand. That was never an issue before. The phone is still secure and safe. But I'm used to that CLICK sound. I find myself checking my phone a lot to make sure the holster doesn't push the buttons. And I really wish that you guys offered more colors for the Defender series! I love black true enough, but I wanted to spice it up with a nice burgundy case. I ended up getting purple. Close, but no cigar!!! But I still love you guys and will continue to buy these awesome cases! Thank you very much for being nothing but awesome!!!

Solid Case by Otterbox
Excellent case as always by Otterbox. I've run Otterboxes on all my phone and have never cracked a screen even when it flew out the window at highway speeds. With this particular one my only complaint is with the belt clip, I usually put the screen in to protect it when riding but when I do this, there is a clicky gap. I'll say this clip feels a little flimsier than the one on my iphone but it still has the same features. It's not all bad thouigh, the rotating clip itself is stiffer in all the clicks which is nice. Otterbox, bring back the super beefy rubberized cases, guys like me don't need thin, non-bezeled cases.A nice addition to this lineup would be one with a built in plastic screen protector. But overall a very solid case that I have no fears about dropping.

The new recessed screen area is a great improvement. Screen protection without an added layer. I have always used Otterbox. Best protection around. Basic black gies with everything and makes it easy to tell my phone from my husband's.

GAKAXY S22 DEFENDER SERIES - GREAT PRODUCT
Have used OtterBx Defender for years..love the protection. The new antimicrobial feasture is great. Only negative is tge positions of the pin to hold the phone, it only lines up in 1 direction to hold phkne. Past Defender Series allowed for phone to click in holster in either direction. Overall a great product and well worth the cost.

Great Case, But One Concern
Every smartphone I've owned has been protected by an Otterbox Defender, and I've been very happy with not only the quality of their cases, as well as the exceptional (U.S. based customer service Otterbox provides. The only reason I didn't give this Galaxy S22 five stars is because it seems like the holster is less secure than the one on my Galaxy S9. When you snap the S22 into the belt holster, it just doesn't feel as secure as the S9 holster. Other than that, it's an awesome case.

Best case ever
Always buy defender for all my cell fones. Best protection and warranty. Never broke a screen by dropping with otterbox defender. I have nothing to say bad. I drop my fones regularly and no damage. The case took the hit once and i had to order a replacement. I got my case in timely manner and price hasn't even gone up much from when i got my last fone 3 years ago.

A Very Good Choice for Protection All Around
I've used Otter Box cases on my phones since putting a case on a smartphone became a thing. This is my first time writing a review for one.
Overall, this case is great. It will protect your phone from damage by being dropped (or even inadvertently thrown, which I've done), and the extra height it adds over the screen and camera lenses+flashlight prevents them from being scratched.
There are only two things about this case that bother me. The first problem COULD decrease its level of protection, the second is a design choice that is not necessarily on Otter Box.
First: The rubber outer part of the case from the lowest camera lens all the way around to the LED flashlight loosens over time and exposes the hard plastic. It falls back into place 99% of the time, but I can imagine a scenario where the loose outer rubber case is quickly pulled from a pocket or bag, dropped, then it hits the hard plastic interior casing, delivering more shock to the device its protecting.
Second: The USB-C charging port doesn't fit a standard compact USB-C to USB-A adapter. This is a minor thing for the majority of people, and can be mitigated with a short USB-C extension. This isn't and Otter Box issue, here. It's just something I noticed.

Luv my Defender
I have never cracked my phone when dropped. I swear by the defender. Recently I took off in my car with my phone on the roof. It flew off and the defender protected it from shattering. The back of phone was cracked in 2 corners. I was able to still use the phone. Thank you otterbox defender!
