Very happy with my purchase
i purchased this case online. Are receiving it I promptly threw away my old case and Began using my new Otter Box case. Immediately it felt more hefty and sturdier that my previous case. The buttons for on and off, etc perform perfectly with no difficulty. I feels good in my hand and I am more confident that my phone ia better protected than my previous case. 100% satisfied.

Otter ox are the best!
This is my 2nd Otterbox Commuter. I like that it has no plastic between me and the screen. But it completely protects my phone. I tend to drop my phone a lot. My last case was still protecting even tho it had a crack on three different corners of it!! I’ll never be without an Otterbox!

Accessories don’t fit
Purchased this case for my new SE 2nd gen. Apple accessories do not fit.
The phone comes with the Apple lightening cable. It will not fit with the case on. Also the Apple thumb drive does not fit with the case on. Strike 2. Purchased a NiteIze phone hitch. Guess what. You got it, doesn’t fit. 3 strikes & you’re out!

I thought I was ordering a case with a clip. When the Commuter didn't have one, I ordered a clip that the Commuter didn't fit. i finally ordered a Defended which has a clip. I now have a Commuter that I do not use and an extra clip for the defender - wasted approximately $60.00

Best thing you can do for yourself!
I had an otter box on my old phone, I bought a new phone and would not even open it before I received my New Otter Box. My old phone was the original I Phone and lasted until 06/2021 ONLY because it had an OTTER BOX! The Otter Box virtually made it indestructible! And so far the new Otter Box has done the same for my new one. The best thing you can do for yourself and your wallet is to purchase an Otter Box before you start using any device that they have covers for. Its the cheapest insurance you'll ever purchase! BEST PRODUCT ON THE MARKET, AND LIVES UP TO ITS PROMISES!!!

Very pleased with my otter box. I had one for my first phone and it was just what I expected; a color bright enough to find it easily and protect
from accidental falls. Never did my surface get damaged. I purchased another one for my new phone and have the same great satisfaction of knowing my phone is protected. I highly recommend the otter box over the others which I have had in the past. Love the lime green color too

Good case
The case is strong, sturdy and durable. However, the hole on the back of the case for the apple logo is unnecessary and presents an opening for dirt to build up. The charging port protector is a nice addition but makes it difficult to charge when only using one hand. Lastly, the case is difficult to put on and take off the phone. Overall, it is a great case, but it does have some flaws.

Really love Otterbox
I had an Otterbox Commuter Series for my last iPhone 5C and loved it so there was no question as to the cover that I would get for my iPhone 7. Love the color (teal) and most of all the ease of attaching it to my phone; first placing the phone in the rubberized outer cover, then placing the plastic-like back/side cover over it. Fits perfectly with little effort in attaching it. Be sure to place the rubber cover on first and the hard case will slip right over it. Don’t forget to pull the little tab through the hard case before attaching it so that you can easily open for charging. Otherwise, it may get caught under the hard cover and will not be able to open. This cover makes handling a slick phone so much safer and I dropped my other phone twice and neither the phone or cover cracked. Love Otterbox!

Had my old one for almost 6 years!! Dropped it hundreds of times! Mostly on cement. Finally the last drop cracked a small piece off bottom. I glued it back on with airplane glue. By 2022 decided it was time. Love my exact same new one!!!

Its the only case i've had for my phone (SE 2) the port cover broke pretty quick and its pretty bulky put i've dropped that thing tons of times, no breaks or chips except on concrete (little scratches on the plastic.)

I received my case and was surprised it did not include a screen protector. In addition, the opening on the case for the charging cable is too small, so I have to force the cable in to make a connection. I guess I can enlarge the opening with a file, but for $40 I expected more, as I could have gotten the same quality (?) case at a convenience or drug store for $5. I have purchased several OtterBox products in the past and never had a problem. I tried reaching out to them before posting but they are only available 3 days/week, 4 hours a day due to COVID. I did not see an option to email, and the automatic chat is worthless.

Great protection for your phone, but too smooth. I know that probably sounds odd, but it’s almost like the plastic is slippery. I can’t rest it on things due to it slipping and sliding everywhere. It needs some sort of rubber gripping. I wouldn’t buy it again.

This case offers great protection without being too bulky. I love how there's a port cover to prevent dust and lint from getting inside. My only complaint is that the silicone part of the case gets filthy and it's very difficult time clean. As much as I like the rosemarine pink color, I'd get something different next time so it doesn't look as dirty.

Had a commuter on my iPhone 4S that kept that phone alive until my upgrade to an 8. So many drops & never a problem. The hard portion of the case would slowly break as time and more drops went by. You can't go wrong with this item.

I had gotten the pink slip cover as I had gotten the all pink case as mentioned in me previous review. Well the discoloring of it does not come off, I tried soap and water but that doesn't work. I keep my phone in my pocket and I wear a lot of black pants from work so I'm sure that's the cause of the discoloration and the case just looks dingy. So I used the warrant to get a black slip cover because over its a good case, I just wouldn't recommend a light color slip cover

Lifesaver! But a little frustrating.
I've had this product for about half a year now. It has definitely saved my phone from a variety of life-threatening drops with its great rubber corners that allow the phone to somewhat bounce on impact keeping the screen intact. All I have to say are there are minor things about the case that have become somewhat of an inconvenience. The first I would say is how the little flap that covers the charging port came off. I've gotten used to it now but it has definitely not allowed my new phone's charging port to keep its "dust-free" character. A problem that's a little irritating but not really that drastic. The other thing is how hard it is to take the case on and off. Every time I take the case off, I feel like I'm going to somehow break the plastic by pulling it back too far. And when putting it on, it seems to not have all the pieces of the hard shell and the rubber surroundings fall into the right grooves every time. Again, minor issues, just quite irritating. The issue with taking it on and off would not be that bad if I didn't have to take my case on and off quite frequently to use my case charger whenever I'm out and my battery is low. Overall, this product is pretty good for basically anyone, and I would totally recommend it. Hasn't majorly failed me yet!

Good Phone Case but Charging bottom tab will break
I've always been a loyal Ottorbox purchaser. Why buy an expensive phone if you aren't going to buy a nice case to protect it? I like this case and the style. It protects all parts of the case, including a bump over the front to protect the screen. However its been less than 6 months since I bought this case and the little tab on the bottom that covers the charger is already starting to break off. I'm disappointed in this case. Its still a great case that does its job but I hope they look into how they engineer them because it doesn't age well in that area and now its going to look old. If you buy this case I suggest snipping off the rubber bottom as it starts to break off so it will at least look clean...

This is as a great a phone case as all Otterbox cases with a small flaw - the rubber cover for charger port will eventually fall off and the entire hard plastic edge in the same area similarly wears out faster than the rest of the case.

I love this case. It is thin and lightweight, and I love the color. It has already survived numerous drops and several instances of being stolen by a toddler. I can’t ask for much more in a phone case. I did end up buying a cheap screen protector from Amazon since this case does not come with one. I bought this for m y tween daughter she loves the color and it has saved her phone from cracking several times (a day)- she takes it skateboarding, running, and it has held up. would highly recommend. The profile is still slim and she has not complained about it being to bulky. Her baby yoda popsocket fits fine.

Sturdy and attractive
I bought this a month ago after my old case broke. This one is sturdy a d has an attractive design. I feel confident that it will protect my phone when I drop it. The only thing that’s not super great is the corner looks dirty already. Other than that, I highly recommend.

The color is a bit darker than I had hoped (indigo--looks closer to black than purple) but I'm a long-time Otterbox user and this one is just what I needed to protect my phone. As a nurse, this case is easy to clean, and I like that it doesn't make the phone bulky!

This case, as with all the other ones, was way too big and I sent it back! I honestly don’t think there is a case out there to fit my Apple IPhone SE. Apparently, it’s an older model, and is a small phone.

Not what I was expecting.
Ballet pink? The hard plastic yes, but the rubber part is a bit more on the mauve side of pink. Plus, there is not a screen protector built in or included, which is a must! I would have returned it, but I would have had to pay for the return shipping.

Exactly what I wanted when I ordered it. A snap, literally, to install. Sleek, low profile, and it does what I bought it for: protects the new phone from dropping and provides a more grippy surface to prevent dropping it in the first place. Buyer beware
I live in Canada. I bought about 3 weeks ago off , of the otter box website. Thinking I ordered in Canadian $. Boy was I surprised when I got the email with the invoice stating my purchase was in US $. No where and I mean nowhere does it state this was a US website. I could have bought from Amazon for 30$ cheaper after the exchange. Product is good website Beware

Solid Phone Case
Bought this phone case about a month ago and I have since dropped my phone on concrete. The case absorbed the blow when it landed on a corner and protected my phone from ANY damage! I only wish this came with a screen protector as well.

Broken Port Cover
Extremely disappointed. The rubber port cover is ripping off after 2.5 months of use. I've had 2 phones with otterbox cases that have lasted over 2 years each and have never had this issue before. I now charge my phone wirelessly and only plug in my headphones an average of an hour a week so the port cover is normally not used much, the only exception is when I use a wired charger while on vacation. I used to rave about my otterbox to everyone but this has made me lose all faith in the brand. This material defect should not be normal for a $55 CAD case after such a short time.

I wish this fact had been clearly stated in the description.I am not using this case. I purchased another case that includes a screen protector from another company.

I have had the case for about three weeks and have dropped the phone several times without hurting anything (one nick on the case, which is better than on the phone).
The color is good, and it is grippy enough that it doesn’t slide in my hand but smooth enough that it will still slide into my pocket, when it fits.
I don’t think the phone/case need to be smaller, but women pockets should be bigger.

I absolutely love the otterbox commuter series for the iPhone 7. I love that it has the squared edges and groves on the side, unlike the one for the iPhone 6. This is very helpful in that it helps create a firmer grip and better fit in my hand.
During the first week of having my new case, I had forgotten I placed it on the rear wheel of my suburban and forgotten about it. As I moved my vehicle forward I remembered my phone, that I had just run over. I picked up my iPhone and it worked perfectly, other than dust, no damage on the phone nor the case. Sold on Otterbox for life.

Protects well
This is my second commuter. I drop my phone often so this is a wise investment in order to protect the corners and absorb some of the shock. I love the color, a muted pink called Ballet something. The fit is extremely tight which makes it hard to remove and put back on but this will probably give a little more with time. One annoyance to me is that I have to remove the outer shell in order to mount it on the adapter on my Bose dock station. I wish the flap and space on the case were large enough to accommodate attaching to this adapter without having to remove the outer shell of the case.

I always wrap my phone in an OTTER box
The Otter box commutter series is slim and durable. It fit’s easily in a pocket or small purse. It offers great protection for my Apple phone. The Apple logo is not visible with this cover is the only take away.

Great protection
I liked my last/first Otterbox so well that it was an obvious choice for me when I recently upgraded my phone. I work around big machinery in mostly cement buildings, and I always feel that my phone is secure is the Otterbox.

Otter Box has successfully protected three phones for me over a six year period! My cases take a beating but my phone has been safe inside every time. I have never had to replace a phone or screen due to physical damage. Better than any insurance plan I have seen!

Like Commuter, Bespoke color is okay
This case is the second commuter I have purchased so overall I do like it. I knocked two stars off for two reasons. 1) the outer shell slips on surfaces so I wish that it had more grip like the inner part. 2) the two blues in bespoke do not have enough contrast to make it pop.

was not very excited about having to get a new case since there wasnt a huge difference between the iphone 6 and 7 (size wise) but when the case came in i was very impressed. the case seems slimmer and less clunky.
customer service was a great help when i had issues with fedex.
if i had one complaint it would be that id rather them not use fedex anymore.

Wouldn't have an iPhone without an Otter Box case.
This is my second Otter Box cover. First was on an iPhone 6 and now on my iPhone 8. Without a case, these iPhones are too slippery and difficult to handle safely. The Commuter Series is both tough to handle most all bumps and slight drops, plus it's attractive and will stay in your pocket without slipping out.

There is only 1 phone protector
I have been a customer for about 8 years and have never considered any other phone cover after choosing to try OtterBox. It is rare to see a company stand behind a product like OtterBox does. Lifetime warranty!! Great customers service!! Perfect product!! I've worked in the cellular phone industry and this was all I would recommend and will always be my only recommendation when it comes to phone protection!

Slim case with great protection
I bought this for my iPhone 7. I like it because it is slim while still offering great protection. I like the cover for the charging port, because I've had issues with pocket lint getting in there and not being able to charge my phone. I also purchased this because of the ability to see the apple logo (which is dumb I know). The only issue I have with the case is that it seems the logo is slightly not centered in the otterbox cutout

Hard Shell Cracks
I'm on my second Commuter case. Outer shell cracked around camera opening when it got dropped and I replaced the case, It happened again a few months later (I know, the solution is not to drop it) and both tims, the case protected the phone but suffered itself.

Great for cycling
When I'm on my bicycle, I use a CatEye app to track speed, etc and occasionally need to refer to a maps app. So I mount the iPhone7 on a Koomus clip on my handlebars. Since the iPhone7 is reasonably waterproof, I don't want a waterproof case (either hard or soft), just something to add shock protection that isn't too bulky to clip into the handlebar mount. The Commuter case works perfectly for this. I added an amFilm tempered glass screen protector and I'm set.
A month ago I forgot to use the four rubber loops that secure the corners of the phone to the Koomus mount. As I landed after jumping a railroad track, the iPhone came out of the mount and went skittering down the asphalt. When I picked it up, the phone was fine. And I couldn't find even a scratch on the Commuter case!
Great shock protection, yet it still fits easily into the back pocket of my jeans when I'm not cycling.

Love otter however when I ordered on line it didn’t state if it was screenless like the other cases so I assumed it had a screen protector. Probably won’t use now however live the color just wish it stayed screenless I would’ve stayed away and looked for one with a screen protector

Buying an OtterBox to protect my new iPhone 7 was a no-brainer. An OtterBox Defender handled the job nicely for four years with my former iPhone 5, including, for example, keeping it 100% damage-free when it fell off the top of my car, traveling about 50mph.
My new OtterBox Commuter is a little more refined than the former Defender, but I like the solid design and I'm confident it will deliver the protection needed when the time comes, and it will in my case, that I do something stupid to my phone.
I like the sleeker design of the Commuter, but I'm still getting used to the slippery hard plastic. I miss the rubber exterior of the Defender. It kept it from sliding on hard surfaces. Even so, the Commuter gets very high marks for solid protection of my iPhone investment.

In the past on all three iphones that I’ve owned,I’ve used the “Defender” case.
The purchase of the “Commuter” has been a very pleasant surprise as the “grip factor” has turned out to be much better than I expected.
Thanks Otterbox,you’ve got very thoughtful designs.
The reason for the change is that I wanted to get back to carrying my iphone in my pocket instead of clipped to my belt.
The experiment has worked!!

This is probably my fourth or fifth commuter series case and they never let me down. I am always rushing around with my phone in my hand, at work, to and from the car, on the subway .. and I've dropped it on concrete or asphalt many times. The case does the job and I've never had a broken screen or scratch on my phone. I just got a new phone and refused to activate it until I got my Otterbox in the mail. That's how critical it is!

I bought this case a few weeks ago. I had to get a new phone because I dropped mine and the screen shattered. Upon getting my new phone I figured I would invest in a case that would ensure the safety of my phone if I were to drop it again. Otter boxes are known for their protection of phones. What I didn't want was a big bulky case so I decided to go with the commuter series. This case is great because it is slim and fits in my pockets easily and also has 2 pieces so it will protect the phone if I am to drop it. Definitely recommend this case to those that want the protection that comes with an otterbox but also do not like big and bulky cases

Low quality product with a bad warranty policy
This case was great for six months, but then it broke after normal use. It was covered by the warranty, but in order to receive my replacement, I will have to pay Otterbox's $11 warranty processing & shipping fee. If I pay extra money to buy a $40 case, it should last for a few years without breaking, or at least have a warranty that will fully cover any defects for a few years. I'm disappointed, and I will not be buying an Otterbox product again.

I’ve only ever used Otterbox for all of my phones. They are tough and durable. My last one outlasted my phone. I had my old phone for about 5 years. The only issue I find is that it’s difficult to insert a non-iPhone charger cable but apart from that, I love it!

I bought this item thinking it would be like the old otterbox cases I’ve bought in the past. It was not. There is no grip to the case. It always slides out of my hand or on hard surfaces. It works well as a protector, but it is hard plastic with no grip. Still like ya anyway, otterbox.

I just got my case - Ballet Way - and am underwhelmed with it. I've had this same case (different color) before and the case itself is terrific. I'm unhappy with the color. The ordering process didn't allow me to change the colors of the inner and outer cases to my liking. So I'm stuck with this. I'll live with it, I guess.

Got the commuter for my new iPhone 7. I like that it's sturdy and seems to offer good protection, yet it's not bulky or clunky. The covered buttons are very easy to use, and I can easily reach the ringer switch with the case on. The only reason for four stars is that it did not come with a screen shield. However, I did end up getting a Zagg tempered glass shield (for iPhone 6 which is the same size display as iphone 7) on clearance and I'm glad I did!

I've used the iphone5s version of this for years and it worked great. I had my iphone 5s since 2013 (so 3 years) and I've dropped it a million times but it's still in perfect condition without even a little scratch to this day. I bought this after I upgraded my phone, I already dropped my iphone 7 many times (lol) and it's doing just fine without any shattering or scratching. Sometimes I want to switch up my case to a pretty phone case with fancy designs, but I drop my phone too often and I don't want to risk breaking it. So, if you're like me this will be perfect for you.

One of the most solid cases out there.
I'm going to be a little hard on Otterbox here, but only because they've been on the market for so long. I love this case and absolutely recommend it to anyone who has purchased an iPhone 7.
But it could be improved to a 5. Give the case some vents. I'm a mechanical engineer and the one downside of this case to me is that it doesn't allow the case to dissipate built up heat. If this case had even a couple of slits over the motherboard, I would rate this as a 5. Heat kills devices just as surely as mechanical shock (though obviously not quite as quickly).
I know this isn't exactly fair to Otterbox, because basically no case manufacturer designs for heat dissipation, but to me it's important to extend the life of my device.

I bought this case knowing I needed to protect my phone enough to where it wouldn’t break when my child throws it on the floor and to have something cute as well. And as a matter of fact I already have dings on the bottom of case which just shows that my phone was protected and it was safe.
I did have to buy a glass screen protector before hand.

I hate bulky phone cases, but if you drop the phone - you have to protect it. I was resistant to purchase an Otterbox just because theyre known to be pretty thick, but decided to get one and was surpised it wasn't as big. I got the mint colors and love it, very understated and neutral. Love the feature of the charger area, keeps it protected when you aren't using it.

So I’ve had this case for a little over a month now. I’ve only used Otterbox cases exclusively on my two iPhones now for the past 4 years. I was always pleased with my Defender Case. Great warranty, quality, customer service. The Commuter has not left me with the same feelings. I do still like it and would still recommend Otterbox as a trusted brand to anyone but I find this case to be too slippery. Possibly due to my color choice (pink), I find the rubbery part of the case stains super easily. Next time I would have chosen to get the Defender case or a case with a Popsocket attached maybe?. The Defender is WAY More sturdy for sure. Overall though, im satisfied with what I paid for and it has protected my device so no complaints.

So tight it jettisoned my screen protector
I put this on my phone and went to bed. Coming back to it later, the tight fit around the screen had forced my screen protector off my phone and actually cracked the protector. This case doesn't have a built in screen protector, so now I need to buy a new one. And apparently find one that's compatible... this case may protect the phone (we'll see) but it's already costing me money.

I've been buying these for employee's phones. The case is rugged enough to protect the device and not bulky.

Nice case!
I bought the commuter series case instead of the defender series case because I like the fact that it is slimmer and does not cover the front of the phone like the defender does. It has the grippy edge in the most strategic places and fits in my purse pocket a lot easier than the defender case did. This is a great case for someone who does not need the added protection of the defender case. A great happy medium!

Otterbox counties to impresss.
I bought the commuter as soon as I got my iPhone 7. It's slimmer and looks much better that the version for the iPhone 6. Otterbox continues to impress.

Fits my iPhone 8 perfectly. Although perhaps not the most stylish case, it protects so well and is easy to hold. Had one of these cases for my iPhone 6 and it really saved me since I drop so often. Only case I would ever own!

Look No More "Otter" is here!!
The Otter case is exactly what I needed to protect my iPhone 7. The Defender Series has a complete "rubber casing" that prevents damage to the phone and also no more slipping from your hand.

Love it's square edges. Not bulky. Slim. Easy grip.
It fits perfect in your hands if you have small hands.
I had the Commuter before on my previous IPhone for 3 years I dropped my phone many many times my phone never broke or cracked.
I recommend to get a glass screen protector in addition to this case to pretect your phone.

I expect to update my phone before I need to get a new cover. I'm the kind of person that keeps phones until they are truly done. The last cover I had did exactly that! This one has a new (for me cover on the charging station, which keeps the dust out. Great job, Otterbox.

This is not my first OtterBox, but definitely the most beautiful I've ever had. The colour is exactly what I wanted. This case is strong and durable but still slim and not bulky. It protects my RedProduct iPhone 7 and still shows a little of the red colour, which is really cool. I highly recommend this case, especially in sea foam green!

I got mine in the pink color (ballet way) and I love it! It’s looks really good with my rose gold iPhone. The color is a little bit of a paler pink in person rather than the bubble gum pink it shows online. It looks a lot better in person in my opinion. It’s not super bulky but it’s just bulky enough to protect it from a hard fall. It’s stylish AND function which I love!

The case is a good case but can be a little slippery to handle due to the rigid case finish and tends to slide easily on smooth bench tops tables. Maybe look at integrating sections of the flexible grippier section through the rigid part of the case to correct this issue.
