The only thing is I thought it wasn’t working when I used the same name of wifi it didn’t improve. When I switched all my downstairs devices to (ext 5g it maintained music wifi signal that was upstairs all the way through the downstairs. The 2g was a weak only 20 download spread. I definitely recommend getting a speed test app, and to do the install on a computer.

Super easy And now the whole house from basement to 3rd floor AND even outside is running fast on 5G!! Why didn’t I get this sooner?!?!

My only negative comment is that it took two hours to set up because it wouldn’t find the router. I can’t explain why or even what finally made it connect. Has been working great since though.

Our new mesh WiFi extender has been great, it was super easy to set up, extends over 100 ft across the yard through two walls, and now our Netflix displays better definition in both bedrooms and still supports all of our new devices we have bought. Great purchase and I got it on sale!

Just be patient when says will take 2 minutes, it might take 5 minutes depending on current internet strength. I recommend this product for anyone needing WiFi in a room distant from the router, especially for work or gaming.

Instructions for updating software are good once you find them. But I’m usually bouncing around the net until I find the one that work for me. That being said I’m not a new customer and because of the available upgrades I have been using this for a couple of years now. I know I need an upgrade when it stops working well. Because of course comcast doesn’t tell us when they update the modem. And when they update the modem you need to update the extender. All that said I recommend this for a multistory your smart tv is far away from your modem purchase

The two car garage was converted into what we call our “ family studio playground”. Our router is connected in the family room and works great for entire home but we quickly realized our new space had very poor connection for all our devices, TV, Alexa ,security system , etc.. Our family is very tech savvy and we have 6 devices that need WiFi. It was so simple to install , instructions actually maxed sense ( I might be tech savvy but at times some devices have very complicated instructions). WOW! After quick set up I ran a speed Check test with app I downloaded . This Netgear device has app ( This is my favorite feature ) that allows you to check speeds, manage devices , and more. To my surprise the Netgear speed test vs. the other app speed test results matched! Now our Family Studio Playground has “According to app extremely fast “ connection and we can watch our 4K movies, play online games and use our iPads . I highly recommend this product to anyone who has slow or poor WiFi connection in the rooms in your home.

However I get regular short losses of signal while everything shows as good on the Netgear unit. These are maybe 10 seconds in length and occur on and off through the day. Not sure why this happens but that is my only complaint.

Streaming in the finished lower level was impossible. The Nighthawk solved my issues. I now have fast 5g on all three floors, the garage, and on the patio.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NETGEAR AC2200 5/2020 We have found the NETGEAR AC2200 Mesh WiFi Extender (EX7300v2 to be a reliable and straightforward solution to increase our WiFi and an excellent purchase. It was simple to install using the “Connect with WPS” instructions. Once installed, we used the NETGEAR Nighthawk app to monitor its performance and see what devices were connecting to the extender. Our router is on the first floor, and we plugged the extender to an open-air hallway upstairs, and this has worked very well since my office is on the second floor. I especially like the mobility of the extender. I can move it outside on our deck and get a stronger signal. The other feature of the WiFi extender that I wasn’t fond of at first, but have now come to appreciate and now understand the logic, is the use of the same name as our router.

A "techie" friend suggested adding a range extender to improve coverage and performance. Did a little research online and decided upon the Netgear AC2200 Mesh WiFi Extender. Our local office supply store had only one in stock. Got it home and out of the box. Downloaded the app on my smartphone and set up the extender in just minutes. I was even able to use the same name as the original network. Then just plugged it in and, moments later, it was up and running. Now there are no gaps in coverage even in the basement. It also reaches outside to the deck and patio. The app has a speed test built in and we have excellent ping and up/download speeds. Problem solved! It works better and faster than expected. And I did it myself!

My wireless router is located in the basement and the netgear extender is about 2 floors up and about 50-60 feet away. Pretty impressive.

However, though improved, devices are still dropped. I am awaiting the arrival of my Netgear mesh router system to see if that will help the situation

When streaming, sometimes the signal would drop or get pixely. Since getting this extender all those problems have been resolved. It was super simple to set up, did it right from my iPhone in about 10 minutes.

We decided to go with this one because it was from the same family. All I had to do was to plug it in and follow the steps in the app and it started working the magic. We absolutely love that the new extender adds to the current WiFi network and doesn’t create a separate one with EXT suffix. Now we can enjoy improved WiFi quality in our backyard!

This is by far the best extender we have ever purchased. We are now able to use our wifi in the whole house! This is a must have for anyone who needs a stronger signal.

Had to call back twice and each time the line was disconnected or dropped. This has to be the poorest equipment ever sold. My last ditch effort is to pay and have an outside Tech Service come in and give it a try, cost $145.00 added on to the worthless Extenders $263.00 grand total $408.00, should have not listened to the sales clerk and gone with my gut buy cheap.

All bought in the same month trying to ditch rental with xfintiy. Sadly I have been over the phone multiple times for over an hour at times then chat (the worst) and kept getting disconnected. Wasn’t expecting this much leg work to make this work properly. Not sure if this is even compatible. Still having issues with the extender dropping out of the network randomly. For me this product is not working as intended and I’m highly disappointed with the quality. That being said I’ve had great support personal that tried many many options to fix these issues. This is all on the first 2-3 weeks of using the device! I don’t think I’ll keep any of their products and return them all to search again for another device that’s compatible with Comcast xfinity internet.

I took off a star because the directions were vague. By copying the exact name of the network, it was hard to know the device was working. I paid good money for this product and from the install to actual use the product was horrible. So I turned back to Netgear and in ten minutes I was up and running. This extended router does what it says and I have had no problems with it.

The extender works great to extend our wireless network. I recommend this extender. It is easy to set up with probably any wireless router or access point.

However, that also prevents a good signal in the back bedroom or anywhere outside the house really. With the AC2200 WiFi extender we now have a good signal in a good radius outside of our house and even in to my back shop building!

After hours of reading reviews and web searching, i came across the Netgear extenders. Since our router is the Netgear Nighthawk, it was recommended to stick with the same brand to boost the signal. We went with this extender based on reviews and affordability, and so far we we haven’t been disappointed. No more buffering delays with streaming and no issues with loading internet pages. To put things into a better perspective, we have 4 firesticks, 4 smart TVs, WiFi based pool equipment, and miscellaneous others that can all run simultaneously without any issue. Very happy with the purchase and would definitely recommend to others.

Plenty for my uses of casual online gaming and streaming 4K with no buffer. Overall, extremely easy to set up and install with my existing WiFi. Took a little bit to set up but figured it out with the Nighthawk app. Plus, it has an on/off button so it’s not on all the time. Computer loads quicker too.

My kids stated they were not getting kicked off as much and they maintained a much stronger connection which allowed for less interference which had prompted us getting the new WiFi extender. The range extender ensures that my 300mbps modem reaches places it simply cannot. By placing it directly underneath the modem near an outer wall outlet, the signal can reach all the way out to the yard.

I thought one of these Internet boosters would be too hard for me to set up. But with my daughters urging I worded this Netgear Wi-Fi booster. OK, now I wish I done this five years ago. Very easy to set up. And I am overjoyed with the increase in my Wi-Fi in the front of my house.We had dead zones in the front of the house where our phones would go dead and our smart TV in the front wasn’t so smart. However, after putting in the Wi-Fi booster were able to get all the channels that were supposed to. And quickly to boot! No more dropped calls in the front of the house. I would highly recommend this booster to anyone. Even those that are “technologically challenged”!

Thought it was a fluke so I tried again with this extender, to give my son a stronger signal for his new gaming pc. Spent four hours yesterday and two hours today trying to get it hooked up. Wouldn’t work. Tried the nighthawk app which kept telling me my router password was incorrect. It wasn’t but it kept telling me it was wrong. Then the app told me to scan the wrong code. The result: “invalid qr code.” App said use Ethernet cable that came with the extender to hook it up. No Ethernet cable was in the box. Fortunately, as I maintain a small network for my company I had Ethernet cables galore. Finally excited, this willl do it. The result: nighthawk app does not work with this router, incompatible. Well, I gave up. Going out now to buy an extender made by any other company. Netgear evermore!

After 30-50 minutes of trying to find their phone number and another hour on the phone I finally got it to work. Instructions on phone were nothing like the written instructions. Someone needs to review this. I was within a few minutes of shoving this thing back in the box, returning in and trying another brand. I’ll certainly think twice before recommending this product to someone else or buying something else from this brand.

Setup took 5-10 minutes and I went with the single SSID. it says single SSID all over the box but instructions say they don't recommend that. But, I had to find its IP address through the router to launch the its web page, a bit confusing because the one that suggested by the manual didn't work. Well, it didn't bother me after all. It works so well to cover the whole house plus the yards, really worth for such investment.

It was HORRIBLE and kept over hearing and the extended WiFi would keep going down. I finally ditched that for this Blackhawk and it is so amazing! I feel the need to leave a review becuase it truly is the best out there. I get crystal clear internet, the extender never over heats, AND it never crashes! So far I have had no problems!

I went ahead and followed the steps to setup the extender feature. It exceeded my expectations and has turned out to be the perfect solution. In gaming, it caused a lot of lagging. After installing the extender, every device boosted up to 100% signal strength. No more lag. It also has an option where you can switch it from an extender to an access point. I give this device 2 thumbs up.

I have a WEP protected wireless network and it was a snap to get up and running. I used the NETGEAR Nighhawk app and walk through was very clear. Has added features in the app that support the unit and other things like checking speed and connections. Have a dead spot in the house where my TV is and use a streaming service. Constant drops and buffering led me to the AC2200 due to good reviews and ease of set-up. I was not disappointed and now stream 4K and UHD flawlessly and with maximum resolution ALL THE TIME! No more drops and buffering, so nice. Uses same network name so no need to create additional networks. If you’re experiencing weak coverage, I believe this unit will solve your issues.

I was very sceptical of 'wall plug' units, having had one before that was subpar. However, once plugged in & configured, this unit almost outperformed our router (in terms of range)! Was a little awkward too set up (our error), but once it was up & running it's been terrific! No regrets!

I have a 4 module set and have some points sitting right next to a device and the download speed is half of what is at the router. It is an 1800 square foot home. I had a little trouble getting it to connect because the instructions were not very clear about how to get onto my network (I had to go into the router settings through a browser and it took a while to figure it out) but once I was in there it set up fairly easily. Now I have a bigger wifi range and everything is working great.

One of the computers speed was in the low single digits, unable to support a stable Internet connection. The worst I have ever seen! Once we installed the range extender the speed increased significantly to easily handle our video conferencing sessions without lag or crashing. Love it!

After I brought and installed the Nighthawk range extender that more than adequately took care of the problem. Also; I was able to keep my 200+ mbps speed as well.

The Netgear Night Hawk X4 Range Extender is plugged into my office wall outlet and I now have "green color" connectivity, high speed, and no drop offs any longer. I would recommend this product to people with 2-3 walls of interior wall(s) interference from having a "so-so" connection to having a great online connection.

I've also used these as wireless access points to extend the range to the far reaches of my house. They are easy to configure have a great signal and support both bands 2.4 and 5 gigahertz.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Investment My wife and I spent 6 weeks in Arizona during baseball spring training at an RV resort and our spot was about 100 yards from the the activity center where their router was located. The internet service in the park sucks (Jabba) but their router for the activity center is through Cox. We went to Best Buy and purchased this range extender; took it to the activity center and set it up; then took it to the RV and plugged it in. We got awesome WiFi which made the trip more enjoyable knowing my wife could do stock trading and we could get emails and surf the net. Thanks NETGEAR for an awesome product - I will recommend it to family and friends.

Since I live in a low cell phone reception area, (maybe a bar at the highest point in my home, having this has been tremendous. I no longer have to stay near the router zone. It was easy to setup. We decided to get a wifi extender for our security cameras so did a little research and saw that the Netgear AC2200 Mesh Wifi Extender had pretty good reviews. Little did I know that not only will I have wifi for my outdoor cameras but I could have a picnic acres away in front of my neighbor's house! This thing is powerful! It was pretty easy to set up too.

I never knew what I would get, or wouldn't get as far as reception was concerned. I purchased the NETGEAR Nighthawk X4 AC2200 WiFi Range Extender after doing a lot of research as to which extender would work best in my situation. What a difference!!! No more dropped calls. No more intermittent coverage and streaming... GREAT product! I would definitely purchase this product again and recommend it to my friends!

But this new Nighthawk gets it there with about 40 MBS, reliably, and to other parts of the main house that were previously dead zones. This thing is great and absolutely worth the money.

The WiFi signal was weak at best and often the connection would completely fail in the middle of a game or watching a show. We plugged this in, set it up within 5 minutes, and haven't had an issue since!

I get a very weak WiFi signal that drops and I was using all of my monthly data. Now I use the extended 2G and 5G network and never have a problem with connecting, slow networks or using up my data!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great access point for 2400 square foot house I recently swapped out a competitors product (Chinese Brand sold in US that had 'better' spec's on paper and external antennas due to unexplainable issues accessing certain sites on my iphone 8. I figured the ex7300 was worth a shot as I have a rj45 outlet right next to my power outlet and is in the perfect spot for an access point. Needless to say the ex7300 actually outperformed the competitors product even with it's internal antennas. I not only have better reception, but faster speeds at longer distances then my old device. I cover my entire 2400 square foot house with this single device. The ex7300 is also half the size!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super strong signal I use the AC2200 as an access point using Cat5 cable hardwired to my Netgear N750 router (approx 70' distance from router to extender). I have it plugged into a wall outlet 6' off the floor and approx 5' from a window. In this capacity, I receive a signal as far as 500' away on my 10ac property. In fact, the AC2200 signal is stronger than the router's wifi signal that it's connected to. My devices rarely switch from the AC2200 signal to the N750 signal regardless of where I'm at on the property. I can't speak to the extender mode strength as I only use in access point mode. Install and set up was very simple. Just be sure to be patient and wait at least the stated 100 seconds for it to power up when first plugging in to wall outlet. Great product!

I placed the extender in the second floor hallway. We now have excellent signal on the second floor throughout the bedrooms.

I got tired of hearing him complaining and his friends always beating up on him in the game so I asked him about this “booster” he kept talking about. I did my research and picked the Extended. It was sold out at the stores nearby so I drove to another state (about an hour) just to get it that same day. I don’t think I could’ve waited 3-4 days for it to ship to the store, lol. Since then, I haven’t heard one complaint out of my son’s mouth. Money well spent and a well worth “road trip”!!!

I got tired of hearing him complaining and his friends always beating up on him in the game so I asked him about this “booster” he kept talking about. I did my research and picked the Extended. It was sold out at the stores nearby so I drove to another state (about an hour just to get it that same day. I don’t think I could’ve waited 3-4 days for it to ship to the store, lol. Since then, I haven’t heard one complaint out of my son’s mouth. Money well spent and a well worth “road trip”!!!

I used my EX7300 at first as an AP (wired) temp to connect 2 houses 250 ft apart, until I put in Netgear 124 unit in its place. Then I repurposed the EX7300 as an extender for a second WiFi system at 2nd house, to pick up signal from first house and rebroadcast wifi. Now have a backup system. Great support by phone, but setup of EX7300 only took a single finger to set, and push, WPS. Rest automatic. Thanks!!

I was getting a weak signal on the first floor and bought the WiFi extender but was told by an installer it will make the signal weak and never used it. Recently another installer told me to try. Then when I stopped by to staples I took another quick look and saw the netgear mesh extender. Which I didn’t know what mesh meant nor do I still not know but let me tell you I fell In love ! I have a netgear router which worked awesome but we have a trailer outside and the WiFi wasn’t as strong as inside the house and this mesh worked ! It made magic now the whole house and even outside gets good WiFi. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Although it’s a bit pricy it is highly worth it !

The features are great, option to have named network allows you to use your existing WiFi name or you can create a new one. The mesh feature provides expandability of your network and the extended range is great. It also allows for one Ethernet cable to be plugged in on the bottom. The set up was a little more time consuming than I expected. However, I’m sure I screwed something up on the set up using the wireless set up. When I switched over to do the wired (Ethernet connection, it was no issue at all which probably meant that I didn’t screw up a step. Just make sure you follow the set up instructions for either wireless or wired set up and it will be smooth and easy to have your new WiFi extender functioning properly in your network.

I tried the AC2200 (EX7300ve WiFi extender and not have 5gh streaming everywhere. Absolutely recommend for anyone wanting to bolster their WiFi network to all the areas in their apartment/home/business.

However, after purchasing this product, this extender helps streaming service much smoother. I can watch TV for hours without freezing screen at all. Once we had heavy thunderstorm, the program messed up and I needed to start over. But that was it. It’s running nice and smooth again. I just love it!!

The distance between them is about 30 ft and they are located on the second floor. Now, my whole house is covered with WiFi on the 1st and 3rd floor, including the outside areas extending out to a driveways-length on both sides of the WiFi area.

It was good to know they would work hand in hand before purchase. The online configuration page also allows for firmware upgrades and viewing of who is connected on Wi-Fi or Wired. The wired interface is a bonus to add a hard wired connection to a remote device or enemy a switch. Overall very satisfied. I have this in two installations and have plans for integrating them into most security system installs for added camera capability.

Their internet reception is pretty good throughout. However, there is one room that, for whatever reason, had no connectivity; and it did not reach the second floor. Now they have it everywhere! It has brought their internet to the two floors of their home. The Netgear extender was really simple to install, provided one reads the instructions. I and my friends are really pleased with the Netgear extender. I highly recommend it.

Had to repeatedly put in my password when signing on to my wifi network and then it kept giving me an error message, "authentication issue." Many times, I just could not get on the internet on any wifi device. Really annoying.

It was later when I changed routers that it would not sync up properly...the wrong lights were active. I tried a factory reset, and the unit froze with all of the lights on. I think I got a lemon.

I did eventually get it to work, but it took all day, and I have no idea what I did to get to a point where I saw an update firmware option. From there on, it has seemed to work as advertised. I bought this directly from Netgear. It would have been nice if they would have flashed the current firmware before shipping it.

I love the light indicators that help me find the best spot to put the device based on my current WiFi signal strength. I live in a cape cod style home and haven’t been able to get internet in the upstairs for years. I’ve tried sooo many other (cheaper options which never worked. I can finally stream and have duvet day!

It seems to be more reliable on the 5ghtz band but that might just related to my set up. On the 2.4 band I often get a “not connected to the internet”message or whatever I am doing on my phone just won’t load.

The Netgear AC2200 Mesh extender has made a tremendous improvement. Our wi-fi connection is immediate now. This is a great product and I can recommend it without hesitation.

It was easy to set up, and it works well on all of our devices in every room of the house. In addition, TV streaming is seamless now. Very happy with this product.

This device immediately fixed the issue. Now, my wifi signal is like my bms on a good week: smooth and reliable, with no noticeable loss in volume. My only complaint would be, despite what the manual said, I could not accomplish the setup without downloading the app. No big deal though.

I had been using an extender (from another manufacturer in the office and was putting up with the increase it provided - from nearly 0 to, at most, 75 mps, while the house was getting 350-400 mps. That extender died, and several reviews led me to this Netgear mesh extender. What a huge difference! I now consistently get 150-175 mps and am extremely happy with this purchase.

I set this extender up in my 40x60 pole barn with the goal of getting a Wi-Fi signal into our livestock barn for a live feed camera. The router that this extender feeds off is located over 100 feet away down the driveway in our house. I now have reliable Wi-Fi throughout my pole barn and enough signal in the livestock barn, which is 50 feet away, to reliably run the camera. I find this impressive as both buildings are steel making transmitting and acquiring signal that much more difficult. I highly recommend this mesh extender.

And my wifi on my personal items switch over to the better wifi signal when I move back and forth. The only issue I encountered was setting up. I tried using both instructions in the manual to get the product to work and neither did. Luckily the device comes with tech support for 90 days and they helped me to set everything up. Other than that it has been very good to me so far.

This extender connected to my existing Netgear router and has proven to provide great coverage. The setup is a bit tricky and I was close to returning the product, but decided to reinstall the app and try one more time after a failed attempt. The second time was a smooth setup and I’m happy I chose to keep the device.

A single extender on the main floor improved the signal in the basement and upstairs rooms on that side of the house. I would have given a 5 star rating but instructions for set-up in the app were unusable. The hardware switch flipping ended up being faster and easier.

I have the Nighthawk AX12, but the signal doesn’t make it out to the garage at the strength that I would like to. Having this extender has made my life so much easy. Stream with no troubles at all. I highly recommend this extender so you can cut your buffer timers in half!!

The house is a rancher and very long, with the main router near the left side of the house. Now our bedrooms on the right side of the house have very strong signal!! So happy we bought this!

For context the detached apt is about 50 feet away with another 20 feet or so to the smart tv that is connected to it. All told there is probably 100 feet between the modem and the tv and due to this extender, we get great signal!

Moved it to nearer end of building and got great signal. 36 download 15 upload with less than 1 ping. It will do what I want which is internet in that building. Once I confirmed that it was working, however, it has been working well and I am pleased with the consistent signal I am receiving even though I am far from my router.

Very slow downloading and upload 20/2 meg. I’m not even very far from my router. Sold green and could distance it further. I’d take it back if I could. Lost the recipe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not sure it’s worth it It seems to be working when you log in and check it but my signal speeds on devices are not any higher. The instructions are poor and unless you already know a lot of the technicals and lingo regarding Wi-Fi stuff, it’s not easy to understand.

I actually put in room with poor signal, not recommended they say, but my download speed went from 3 to 18. No more buffering on my TV which is plugged into Ethernet. Just get it because it works!!!

That was until the firmware update killed it, I've tried resetting it to no avail! DO NOT DO THE FIRMWARE UPDATE and it'll work great!

I purchased the NetGear extender at lunchtime and I was up and running in 15 minutes with no further calls dropping . Simple to install!! Highly recommended.

App did most of the work for you and all you need was to know your Wifi name and password and make sure it was in range and it connects and does the work for you. Only complaint I would have is that if plugging it in to a surge protector, to check placement as it has a tall profile that if plugged in to a bottom outlet it can block 2 or more plugs. Same as the width. But other than that I am satisfied.

I utilized both as extenders for all three stories of my house. It gives me outstanding coverage for all my devices. I used the gigabit Ethernet port on both as well for additional connections.
