Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great rangeIt was pretty easy to set up if you know how to do some basic router maintenance. I had to update my ISP’s gateway in order to get everything going. Great range and speed. WiFi was very spotty in the back rooms of our house. This router solved those issues. We have 3 4K tv’s in the house. Our old WiFi router couldn’t handle all three at the same time without buffering. We will probably be getting a new 8K TV some time this year and the WiFi 6 radio will defiantly come in handy.

I have 17 devices connected to my network and with my old router I would get devices dropped intermittently, with the Nighthawk I have had no issues. It draws out internet speeds faster than what I pay for. Very happy with the new unit.

Speeds are excellent, coverage is greatly improved throughout my house. Very happy with the X10 after my first week of usage. My only real remaining question is whether I'll keep using the NetGear software, or flash DD-WRT onto it; the original intent was to do the latter, just not sure that's necessary yet.

Wifi speeds are as fast as explained in the specs.I feel the advanced users will have no problem setting port forwarding and any other network tweaks they might need. So far I'm a very happy camper

Was living with an aging system of Apple extremes, and so far this thing is a lot faster. Tried the super fast Orbi, but those dropped connection seemingly a lot. So far this hasn't dropped anything I can tell. If it didnt cover most of the home floorplan, I'd consider buying another.

The distance for my old router got me 10mbps in the theater room while I it for 200mbps. After getting this router I now get 231mbps in the theater room! Unbelievably awesome! Thank you Netgear!!

With the innovative smart app! I can control the WiFi from “speeds” to permission on individual devices! I love the reliability and the control. For example, if my wife is on social media for to long I can turn her WiFi off from the app (lol I could but wouldn’t). User friendly and easy to install. I can now play COD mobile with no issues. Safe and secure. More than 2,500 sqft of coverage in my home! I cannot ask for more! I will also create a YouTube video to promote this router, because I had trouble finding this one on the internet. Thanks!

My router that came with the cable internet service, the big box one, would drop and reset all the time. I bought the nighthawk X10 and it took all my troubles away. Super fast, no buffering, no dropping, no lagging. It is worth the money. I also bought an extender for mesh wifi connection. It may have been overkill for a 3700 sqft 2 story house, but full bars everywhere I go. Even have tv and echo in garage, full bars.

I combined it with the Nighthawk X6S AC3000 Tri-Band WiFi Range Extender and have maximum level signal strength everywhere in my house (and in a pretty large area around it!) The download/upload speeds are fantastic. For the first time, I'm experiencing the promised speeds of my provider!

Issues that I believed to be my ISP because how could it be possible my $400 router had issues? I decided to try this netgear router and so far far, love it. Both the physical setup and the network setup was simple and took less than 10 minutes in total. The netgeat apps work very well on my phone and are a pleasant upgrade from the Asus apps that worked 25% of the time.

We upgraded our speed from 100/100 to 200/200 with Fios after we got the R9000 and the Fios installer even said, 'Wow, that is a good router'. I also love the smart connect - no more switching channels!

It is easy to set up and the speeds that I get are amazing compared to the router that I had before. I have 1Gbps internet speed and this router gives you exactly that and then some. My family can be on multiple devices and have no issues even with gaming. Purchasing the Netgear Nighthawk X10 was well worth the purchase and investment!

Between smart home devices, gaming consoles, 3 HD streaming TV's, and PC's I routinely have 40+ connections to my network. I plug in the Nighthawk X10, configure a few settings and everything works like a dream. No lag, no dropped connections, no having to repeat commands to voice enabled smart lights. It just works and its fast.

Took it out the box plug it in and scan the QR code and was already online from near the NETGEAR Nighthawk X10 AD7200 WiFi Router (R9000 to outside my house with top speeds on my phone. And the app you can install on your android or iOS device is wonderful. The app is easy to use and a powerful tool that all routers should have. But back to the NETGEAR Nighthawk X10 AD7200 WiFi Router (R9000) would definitely recommend to friends and family.

When given I could have anywhere from 20-30 devices connected at a time (security system, Smart TVs, game systems, relatives visiting I started searching for a device to handle the workload. The Nighthawk has far exceeded my expectations! This router is on the borderline small business / personal use with the amount of options it has available. I have a feeling this router will last the next five years without any issues.

So far, after two weeks, very saisfied. If the simple setup tools work for you, the process is easy. My network is a little complicated so the setup is usually challenging when I have to learn the process for each manufacturer's process.

It is a phenomenal router, that we have only had to restart once (due to a firmware update. It can handle as many devices that we connect to it, including one time where a party of 25 people came to our house and everyone connected onto the network without issues (they used a guest network while the primary people who reside stayed on the other 5GHz network). This router is great, and I highly recommend it to anyone who needs to broadcast to a large home, and have several users connect to it simultaneously.

After our internet speed was upgraded, I reluctantly admitted that I needed a new router to take advantage of the full speed of my connection. I was very tempted by the mesh systems, but my modem is centrally located in my house, and my home isn't huge. I ready the reviews on the Nighthawk and decided to get it instead. I am SO glad I did. It isn't just a router -- it is a router, media server, backup solution, and network storage all-in-one. I hooked a 4tb usb drive to it, and now I can access all my files or stream media in or outside of my home using Plex. It also has some helpful router tools available through the web or an app, like being able to turn off the internet to my daughter's device when she has had too much screen time. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase and wish I'd bought it sooner!

It has more than doubled the WiFi signal strength of our old router getting us to 600mb WiFi on 1Gig hard wired. Having a router that will grow into the future with the 60hz signal in addition to the now standard 2.4 and 5 is comforting knowing I won't have to go buy a new router in a year. The higher level of security and the built in 'Guest Signal' helps keep my data safe and people from siphoning my connection. An excellent purchase I would recommend to anyone.

I have setup the qos and it seems flawless. I have streamed tv, played games and on the phone at the same time and it does not have any issue with it. There doesn't seem to have any lag.

Since I was going to be solely relying on streaming to receive content on all of our TVs and devices now, I knew it was going to be necessary to upgrade my current AC1750 router (Linksys EA7400). This R9000 by Netgear is absolutely perfect. It's super fast and comes with tons of useful features. The Nighthawk App is far superior to the App that was provided with my current model as it allows more user-configurable options and is very easy to utilize. I saw a significant increase in WiFi range, both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz channels. The LAN ports allow port aggregation on ports 1 & 2 for NAS attachment and the router is configured to run PLEX media server. This router also allows for VPN connection along with providing some built-in firewall protection. Overall, I am very pleased with this router.

I live in a large condo and I have exceptional speeds in every room while using many devices. I also have wireless music in every room and they too work flawlessly on this router. I currently run between 7-10 mining rigs 24/7 that share bandwidth with a smart thermostat, 3-4 laptops, 4 smartphones, an Apple TV, 2 Xbox Ones, and a gaming PC. With all of those devices running my gaming PC still manages to hit 8-900Mbps download speeds. My iPhone receives all 3 WiFi bars in the second floor from the X10 located in the basement which previously would drop signal from the Verizon Gateway router. Overall I am very pleased with the purchase.

I replaced the Netgear Nighthawk X6 with the newer X10 R9000 and have been delighted with the improvement. QoS is deciding nicely about who gets what in terms of bandwidth, including apportioning among six Firesticks streaming TV, seven Echo/Alexa devices and eight security cameras.So far, the X10 is rock solid.

With over 30 connected devices in my home from home automation (Alexa), phones, tablets, iPads, printers etc. this router manages all of them without any issues. Love the app, if chores do not get completed I can turn off the internet from my phone. As far as speed goes, this router is no slouch. On my desktop, I have an internal wifi card and the speed is nearly as fast as if I am connected with ethernet. Truly amazing.

I contacted Netgear customer support and they were extremely helpful in troubleshooting the router. After exhausting all avenues, Netgear replaced the router.The new router arrived and it has been working like a champ. I also added a Netgear extender and my WiFi signal in the house is stronger and wider than ever. Both very easy to setup and control. We may have gotten off to slow start with the router, but in the end it was definitely worth the trouble. And thank you to Netgear for stepping up and resolving the problem!

Once I replaced my old wifi with the Nighthawk X10 my internet speed went up and I have no problems with internet drops.

Even my IT consultant was saying- "WOW!". It was easy to set up, easy to change and use via the iPhone app. If in doubt- buy this one! I was on the fence and made the right choice. It even looks impressive. Be sure that you check the specs, however. It's not small in size- it's much larger than most routers. I don't review a lot of products, but this one was something that I had to share my feelings about.

Be advised wired is faster than Wi-Fi and you should ensure proper channel selection, and ensure your older/other Routers are not causing interference. Plex works solidly off the USB port drive, but the base router wifi supply surprised me. I have no need for my wifi extenders, and my son the Gamer has been extremely happy with the 5G (no drops, good response times. The signal covers all 3 floors of my house, and the speed is unmatched, even better than my R7400 Nighthawk (which was tremendous by the way). One month in, and I could not be happier.

But when we canceled directv and opted for steaming thru YoutubeTv we upgraded. Very happy we did. No buffering issues with 2-3 tablets steaming and 2-3 firetvs steaming on any given night. Beyond the server hosting capabilities, my WiFi speeds are through the roof, and the extender ensures my coverage is sufficient all over my property, which is a quarter acre. Honestly, I was nervous about the investment, but man is it worth the money. Highly recommended!

I'm using the X10 to replace an old Verizon router, which connected directly to the source Ethernet. The initial setup wizard was a little wonky and tried to tell me it needed to be an AP and plugged into the old router. I managed to back out and re-ran the wizard, which worked fine the second time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost tripled my speeds during peak hours !Before this product I had a linksys mu-mimo ac5400 and still felt like I wasn't getting the maximum speeds I can get from a router. At peak hours I would get around 60 mbps and was quite frankly annoyed that the my router wasn't living up to its potential. ( I was paying for 100mbps but was aware multiple devices slow down internet speeds. So I made the switch and got the nighthawk and I've been so happy with the results. At heavy congestion time I have a solid 170mbps, almost tripled the old router! I'm only supposed to have 100mbps so I'm more than happy with that! (I live in a huge household with family constantly over and this handles it like a champ)

No real issues at all although it took me a little bit to get the external Plex Media Server working but other than that, setup was nice and smooth. Both ethernet and WiFi speeds have improved, and the Smasung T5 SSD drive I attached records my TV shows perfectly with commercials REMOVED. That's powerful. I had some minor issues with the setup but after some quality customer service it was easily fixed. I can tell a difference on how fast my internet is as well as the range throughout my home. Streaming quality is impeccable due to the processor built inside it. It really helps when your binge watching a show like I'm doing right now with Game of Thrones. I think its worth it if you want fantastic internet.

Router has been great besides when it decides all my items are are connected by Ethernet when they are on wifi.... So power cycle will fix it but shouldn't need to be done daily...

The Router is on the first floor of the home and my office is on the second . It sends the signal strongly enough , so that I don't need the repeater anymore . Other that , it has more resources than I could imagine...as time goes by I will get better in managing it . The IT support was great and got me going in no time .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing!Firstly, with all the wireless networks in a suburban area it's sometimes difficult to detect your devices from others that might have joined your network. I love the additional options on the X10 that allows me to assign names and pictures of my devices so I can quickly and visually see if there is an intruder using my network! Yes, this is available on other Netgear routers, however, I like the expanded list of products to identify them by name. As for speed, well there is nothing better, and at the time of this post, the X10 speedtest reports 340.72Mbps down and 31.90Mbps up'¦. I only pay for 300 down. Many other things I like too, yet the security is the top talking point for me.

I have several smart home devices and 2 laptop and 2 phones and all are connected at the same time and streaming online content on the tv without any buffering or slow speed as before with a different provider router. I am glad I made the decision to buy it and looking forward to trying the aggregation port and the 10G. I highly recommend the X10 even to the basic user who loves speed.

After two weeks we upgraded to the Nighthawk 7200 and we get full bars on every floor. I highly recommend this product if you have a large home with thick walls.

This router is well worth the money. It has enough signal for my 3500sq foot home and was able to get the signal I wanted. I have not run into any issues and with the handy Netgear app I am able to identify each device and the ability to turn off certain devices if I do not want my kids using them. Very easy to setup. Very easy to navigate and the GUI on the app is simple. Thank you for making a solid product.

I spent a lot of time researching routers to go with my Gigabit Internet connection, and I wanted to make sure I found one that would be good for now and the future. This is by far the best router I could find and we have enjoyed the router's range and consistently high bandwidth. We can stream multiple devices throughout our home (3300 sq/ft) with no buffering and lag. I fully recommend this router if you want the best and you want something future proof.

The performance is very very fast. Firmware upgrades are one click simple. The ability to identify what devices are connected to you router & ability to block if need be. The Genie application works very well also, to monitor & control your router with a smart phone. Again simple install of app & your on your way. Router is smart & will allocate for you what devices will connect at what connection 5ghz or 2.4ghz. The router has usb port & a external storage fiberport also. Without getting to technical, this router & its range indoors & out works very very well. I am very pleased with this purchase.

So far, I've had zero issues. I've been using it for almost a month and love it. I've been using Plex as my main local media server for movies and TV shows for about a year and love it. This router can stream 4K content easily. I had to do some research to make sure my media library is in the correct file format, but this is a limitation of Plex and not the router.I have a gigabit internet line through RCN and can get close to 500 Mbps over WiFi. I only have 5 or 6 devices connected at a time (phone, laptop, TV, game consoles), so I'm not pushing this router to its limits.The firmware is easy to access and easy to use. I have yet to tinker with the downloader to get it working, but I'm glad it's there. Love the Nighthawk Android app as well!

I had been having other issues with my internet and decided to upgrade my router. This router is awesome, and I have a signal throughout my 3300 square foot home, and I do not need an extender. Our household is extremely depended on wifi, and this router gave us a huge boost, and it is able to do so much more. I plan to learn about all the functions, and utilize the router to it's full capacity.

Although it was still working well, I wanted to upgrade to the latest technology which also included more ethernet connections and the ability to use the future AD wireless. My home is a smart home so I have over 60 items connecting via wireless. I also have Gigabyte Internet so utilizing the best throughput was important. I have only been using it for a few weeks but so far it has been a rock star just as I hoped it would.

We have fiber throughout our entire house for direct connection. We actually have 2 routers, one up stairs and one down stairs. My children have all of their IOT devices running simultaneously without ever having issue. I mean zero. My wife and I have one downstairs. I work from home so having that separate router is lovely. We have a 4200 sq/ft home and out WiFi signal will reach the back yard as well as the front yard by about 30 yards. The Nighthawk X10 AD7200 (R9000 is an excellent purchase for anyone with a family, who works from home, a gamer for sure, or just wanting the steam television. Keep up the good work Netgear.

I recently upgraded to a gigabit connection. With this router I've been fully exploited the bandwidth. Also, the Plex built in has been amazing. Streaming over 10,000 songs on the go and watching all my shows and movies has been awesome. Would definitely recommend the purchase, it's well worth it!

Other than that we love it. Stream to 3 smart TVs, 6 phones, 4 tablets, and hardwired security camera system as well as laptop.

Setup was very easy with the Netgear app. I get better distance with the X10 opposed to the X6. It has the same GUI that people have seen forever so you'll feel right at home. Haven't tried the PLEX server but noticed it had an option to map a network drive. So far just a fantastic router. Oh and its huge and pretty heavy for a router.

Haven't messed around with the fancier features this router offers, but was super easy to set up, and I am definitely happy with it so far.

It would stay up for a few days then it would block it again and it would slow down the loading. Now plex loads very fast and is always connected. If you use plex this is the router for you.

We needed a new Wifi router in our office and I wanted something far superior to our previous solution. The Nighthawk is awesome. I've asked people in the office periodically, if they've seen an improvement in their speeds. The answer is a resounding yes. The software has gotten very user friendly over the past few years and even so with the R9000. I'm in the middle of extending my access with the EX8000 mesh extender so I can get internet beyond my property. As it is, I'm getting 3 bars from the base at over 80 feet away and it's in the basement of my home!

We had a mesh technology system that didn't transport the 1gb signal consistantly, we gifted this to one of our Sons. Installing the Nighthawk was simple, especially with the assistance of the Netgear mobile app. We distribute 700mg over WiFi on 5mhz and 960mg wired. We don't have any 60mhz appliances yet, but we are ready. Totally satisfied with the performance and reach.

Have a 7500 sq ft single story ranch house, a 1700 sq. Ft guest house and separate garage. Couldn't get WiFi security cameras to work properly, nor Sonos speakers in out buildings. Now everything works seamlessly! In addition I have WiFi almost everywhere on our property compared to not having reliable WiFi in some parts of the house. This unit is worth every penny.

Thus a plug and play from the box was not the case. However once that was performed, I haven't had any lag issues between my 5 wireless security cameras, 3 wireless TVs, 2 cell phones, 1 xbox one, wireless doorbell, wireless thermostat, wireless irrigation system, and 2 ipads. I stressed the system and there was not issue with lag time or messages from my smart TV saying that the bandwidth was not enough.

Three months later moved to a 2300sq ft house with comcast only available with 1gbps. Paired with a CM1000 it works great. Little dropoff and measured with a heat map up and downstairs. 5/10 min setup including firmware updates.

I have it paired with a couple range extenders and it is just a pain simple and seemless system, the orbi system doesn't have anything on this it is just as seemless and easy, just wonderful!

The wifi deadspots I had before on the 5GHZ band on this router have been fixed when I upgraded to this X10 R9000 router. The actual Wifi speeds on 5GHZ band is almost as fast as the wired version which is great! Now, I'm just hoping this router lasts at least three years for me which is about the same time that I had for my previous netgear router.

The installation felt too easy, so easy in fact I thought it "was too good to be true." However, the mobile app and easy installation instructions allowed my network to be up and running in a matter of minutes! The X10 worked as advertised with speeds far more significant than I have seen with any other router - esp my old, tired (but faithful) NETGEAR WNDR4000. Highly recommend the Nighthawk X10.

My download speeds more than tripled on some devices and the option to select which devices I want on 5ghz or 2.4ghz is great. If you have the equipment given to you by your cable provider like I have, then this is an excellent option to upgrade your setup if you have multiple streaming devices that create a strain on the signal. You will spend a little more, but in my case I'm extremely happy with my purchase.

But once I got it home and started setting it up (super easy), all 26+ devices reconnected (with 5 kids something is always connected), and it moved lighting fast. I changed the name of the SSID to the previous one so everything automatically and seamlessly reconnected to the internet. I love the nighthawk app.. it makes it extremely simple to control. This is a great router, easy setup and use, and the WiFi signal is strong all the way through my entire house- even at the neighbors I still have full WiFi bars!!! Before this router, I wouldn't usually have WiFi towards that end if the house- let alone in the front yard. Now it covers my entire house and then some. I am definitely impressed with the Nightgawk X10 AD 7200 and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a speedy, multiple device capable, and reliable router.

With the nighthawk X10I have been able to have more than 10 devices connected without any one of them buffering while watching streaming TV and movies. There are so many features to this router including the genie app to control remotely away from home, Plex media server allows you to view your digital content on any device that is connected to the router. I spent a considerable amount of money on the newest mesh router systems and apple airport extreme, to no avail. The integrated switch is a very nice added bonus for networking my home theater equipment. Thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Multi-device ChampionThis router can handle tons of devices via Wi-Fi or directly plugging into the ethernet ports on the back without sacrificing speed and quality. Setting this puppy up was extremely easy using the Nighthawk App on Android and if you are confident enough there are plenty of advanced settings to tweak to get the best performance for whatever device you through at it. I live in a long 1 story house and had no issue with connectivity from either end of the home. Also the AP mode on this router is easy to enable in case you wanted to add to your existing Wi-Fi network. Would buy all over again.

The app makes it easy to shut down the internet connection for individual connections, like kids phones, xboxes etc..perfect!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible RouterI purchased the X10 to replace a brand new Linksys EA9500. The X10 range is FAR superior than the EA9500. My connections are stable and no longer dropping. My wired connections are ripping at 450+mb, same speeds in getting plugged in directly into my modem. I do wish the parental controls were a little more intuitive as the EA9500. I just need some AC devices to play with the AC. This is a beast of a router and I can only hope it lasts as long as my old Netgear router. It's expensive, but it's worth every penny.

I love being able to see who is on or using my network and having the option to allow them on or shut them down. Setting up the router was super easy with their net quick start set up and app. I would highly recommend this router. Fast speeds, great range, and easy set up. I cannot believe it was that easy to set up but it honestly was. 5stars all day.

We have recording cameras all over the place, alarm system, and we have 2 teenagers playing games online and watching tv on the Internet. So WiFi is a necessity. This router is the best router we found. Everything runs smooth and we can't be happier.

From the stability of the internet speed, handling of all our devices, which includes streaming all of our television programs, to the range it provides. No range extenders required in a 3400 square foot house. The ability to control the security, VPN option and backup features is great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy setupReplaced an aging router with the Nighthawk. Took me longer to inbox it than it did to configure. I literately renamed the SSID's to match my previous router, changed the IP assessing for my DHCP to match the router I took off line and all done. The app works for most of the reconfiguration but logging into the GUI gives you more options to complete configuration if you need more than the application provides. For the most part most people could get by with the settings you can do within the app and be good to go. All in all configuration in the GUI is relatively easy or as complicated as you would need even for most high end users. All in all it was a breeze to configure. Being on sale made this an easy decision to make as I had been looking at the Nighthawk for a while. Although I am not into gaming as much as I used to be. This was a great upgrade for the added performance used in streaming media and online video/audio.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a beast!I had an ASUS RT-AC68U router that was supposed to be very fast. I couldn't get past 25Mb/s on my internet speed (wireless side) that was rated at 75Mb/s. No matter how I set it up or what settings I used. I installed this Nighthawk X10 and right out of the box I got my full rated speeds on all my wireless devices. It will also reach all the way to my mailbox! Very pleased with this router!
