Rated 5 out of 5 by from Two worthless devices and HORRENDOUS service I am on my second replacement and it stopped working seven months after receiving a replacement. I called customer service and the representative would not let me talk. He kept saying YOUR SERVICE PLAN HAS EXPIRED AND YOU HAVE TO PURCHASE AGAIN BEFORE WE CAN HELP YOU....over and over and over and over. I guess they train them to speak over the customer until the customer hangs up and calls someone else. The customer support is the worst service I have ever experienced. STAY AWAY from this company, its products, and most important, its representatives.

It started to slow down a bit but I am not entirely sure it’s the router. I love the features it comes with. Guest WiFi and two different access to WiFi, 2.4GHz and 5GHz.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointed! I have been running the XR300 since January and have been having no end of speed issues. Firstly set up router (fixed ip address and the needed settings. The speed down dropped to 80ish Mb. After call to support, factory resets, rolling back firmware etc etc. they said replace for new. Returned and got 2nd one - basically did the same thing but I discovered that if I turned wifi off and then back on again (from gui not button on box) then it would go back to proper speeds. Now a few months on the speed has dropped again back to 80/100 Mb ish down. Trying the wifi off / on no longer gets the speed back. This is very poor and makes it's a pointless device.An expensive paper weight. Maybe it does not like the amount of devices attached and it's getting confused. It's a shame as I have been a fan of netgear for years and "upgraded" (may not be the right word) from an older netgear router because despite that one working flawlessly if just could not do more than 250Mb ish throughput. I have however come accross reference on the internet to the XR300 not being able to cope if you change the SSID and in particularly changing the network key. As issues have hinted more and more that the wifi is the route of the issue I have changed the SSID and network key back to default (not sure what the guest default was). And I have disabled both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz radios and rebooted the system. This has now put the speeds to where it should be (500Gb) - finally. As long as I dont ever use the wifi. BUT as wifi is a big "sales" point of this router it is very very bad that a router at this price point just can't manage decent WAN speed with wifi turned on. I have always been a fan of netgear products but time to start looking at other makes from now on.

My reasoning for picking up a new Nighthawk Router was due to me getting a Gigabyte of Fiber Bandwidth ran to my home for business, as well as some gaming use. I have to say I have been absolutely blown away by the true quality and performance of the product. The customization in the Nighthawk Hub App is glorious and works flawlessly collaborating with the user interface. Couldn’t be pleased with any other product!!

I love the router but it was a pain to connect at first to the router, it took 4 to 5 tries to get logon. After that it was simple to set up, all my devices were connected within 10 minutes of setup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Frequent need to reboot I am finding that I am needing to reboot this router once a week. If I don't, halfway through the second week I am having issues. Some of the PC's or other devices will disconnect. I work from home due to Covid this year and needing something more reliable. Other that that I had had no issues. This has been going on for the past couple of months and seems to be getting more frequent. I also did a firmware update last weekend. I do use it in the home but I put business because I need to rely on it for work now.

Even my huawei router was better than this router I would usually get like 40ping with the old one so I don’t really recommend it to anybody.I ran a speed test too40ms and 8mbs.

The initial set up of the router was a bit of a pain as i had to physically connect my laptop to it to get it on the net. Hence the reason for 4 and not 5 stars.

I watch some review on it and it sounded great but when got it up and running I couldn’t get but a nat 2 connection also wasn’t able to get on the crew 2 server’s. I still messing with it for my wireless stuff bye it’s not worth 150 I got it for 89.

All you do is scan the code on router and your on your way to managing all your devices. Simple and straight forward app allows even begginers to use this router. Dont be fooled by its simplicity...this is a high tech piece of equipment and overall has solved my lag issues, range on wifi much better than isp router, fully controlable. im pleased with this purchase and would recomend net gear products to friends and family. 5 stars in my book!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING ROUTER The Nighthawk XR300 is a beast, and it’s the lower end model of the Pro Gaming routers. I can’t imagine the power of the other two, but for my purposes - the XR300 is all I need. I upgraded from an older Nighthawk AC1900 (R7000) that served me well for many years. When I upgraded my internet to GB speeds, and knew the demand for lag-free internet was going to be a must for gaming, day trading, and online school, while also supporting my family’s internet use. The XR300 has NOT disappointed in any of these areas. Physically, it’s almost identical to the AC1900 but the performance increase is under the hood. Besides having extremely responsive, smooth bandwidth, I’d have to say the best part of the router is the setting controls. The interface (DUMAOS) is a significant upgrade from the AC1900. Very aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly application with tutorials and answers readily available. A gamer can easily adjust traffic and prioritize bandwidth to their game, device, or however they see fit - and to top it all off, this can all be completed very simply, regardless of networking knowledge or skills. Initial setup was a breeze, and today the household internet is just as fast and smooth as it was on day one with the XR300. Bottom line: This router was crafted to perform, and it does!

The Net Gear Nighthawk Pro XR300 is very easy to install and only takes a couple of minutes. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a new router to invest their money into this product. 10/10

I am returning to netgear for replacement... waiting on the return label to come in the mail... hopefully I get a new one and it works for me this time so I can give better review...

Running with the modem/router combo from the cable company kept my family in a balancing act with the devices we would be using simultaneously. Switched to my nighthawk router and changed all that. I can game on PC while my son plays online with his PS4 and all the while running two other PCs using VPN’s for work. This thing is a beast! It changed my WiFi game. Can’t wait to see what it can do when we finally have fiber internet ran our way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally no more lag I had a 10 year old Netgear router that was working for me until the lag caught up with my increase in gaming. I switched to the Nighthawk XR300 and after I had to extensively set up the DumaOS including some research on my area for gaming servers, I finally got it to a setup that has rid my gaming of almost all lag. So far it’s worth it. Just wish the “NIL” values were fixed in the DumaOS interface.

I live in Puerto Rico so latency has always been a problem when I game. My usual ping was 120 and now with the XR300 that latency has been reduced by half. I've been getting back to back wins in Battle Royale games like Apex Legends as if I was playing agaisnt beginners. I can't recommend this product enough, it really is a game changer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great router! will never rent equipment again. Went from a Comcast Xfinity gateway to a NETGEAR CM1150V and a NETGEAR XR300. The new wireless coverage in my house is almost two times better than my previous set up and the wireless speeds are amazing with my gigabit internet plan, there is NO buffering on any of my videos. The DUMA OS has great features and has helped me QOS my devices and lower my ping with their GEO-FILTER for my computer and PS4 Pro.

It isn't the internet provider because I'm getting over 400Mbps through the modem. If you have any questions about trying to troubleshoot the issue with the product you purchase from them, they try and charge you more money to be told how to fix the issues yourself. In my opinion that's a joke. You buy from them, it has issues, you pay more to do it yourself.
