The BIOS provides each access and understanding and is layout without having to search deep for settings. All the components were exactly the same for all the units we purchased. I cannot say that for the HP or Dell systems. Overall EXTREMELY happy with the desktop which replaced our Dell line.

It's now fully functional for my use and so far is working well. The only issue we had was to add a storage drive I needed to buy a splitter cable from the Power source and did have a problem adding the wireless card in the slot provided. But it is all installed at this point.

One complaint which may be my fault for not noticing but in 2020 shouldn't my monitor come with speakers and a microphone and shouldn't my new system have wifi capabilities?

I found two drawbacks: it is somewhat slow in booting up, and the Ethernet connection is not consistent, sometimes it can’t connect and other times connects right away; this is without me doing any changes to the system or wiggling any wires.

I haven't had any issues with lagging or glitching, it is also not bulky or hard to maneuver when I do need to handle it to move cords around or anything like that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Generally very good but a USB issue This is a good computer for a decent price. Its fast (I am not a gamer) and compact and I’m generally happy with the purchase. I'm using it to manage personal finances and some online streaming. I marked it down to 4 stars due to 2 USB issues: 1) All the rear ports are USB 2.0 according to the manual. I should have read the manual before making the purchase. My plan was to run my portable USB 3.0 hard drive from the USB hub on my monitor. As a result, I now have the permanent USB cable from my monitor plugged into the front of the computer instead of the back. Yuck. 2) I am unable to get my mouse to work on any USB port other than the rear top left port (I tried 3 different mice). With the mouse in any other port, it performs very jerky like it's not getting the interrupts correctly. If I remove the mouse and plug it in again while the computer is on, it will start working correctly. But that is not an acceptable solution. The rear top left port is the port that supports the smart power on feature. I suspect that's why it works in that port. The mouse is constantly powered on as I can see the red LED on the mouse even when the computer is turned off. I probably should return this computer due to this issue but making returns is a pain. And this work-around is acceptable to me.

After much frustration, went with my organization's technical gurus' recommendations and bought this (more expensive but also more economical in the long run) computer from Lenovo. Set up was a breeze, and the solid state drive is a point of no return. Bootup on my BB computer took six (6) minutes. Bootup on this ThinkCentre takes like 12 seconds (I may be exaggerating, but it's close). The CPU is compact, virtually silent, and doesn't produce a ton of heat. Its specs are impressive, as is its longevity guarantee. Yes, more expensive at the front end, but given that this baby will likely serve for the rest of my career, I'm not only satisfied but delighted.

Only changes I would suggest is to mount the ports and power switch on the front higher, right under the DVD player. As it is, the keyboard bumps up against the headphone/mic and obstructs the USB and SD ports. Other than that, no complaints.

I like the four USB's in front as well as USB's in back, and the DVD/CD writer is very important to me. The headphone/microphone jacks are easy to reach, too. The performance is as it should be for its specs. Adding printers was a breeze. You get a lot for the money with this unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid desktop, Ok Drive, Could Have HDMI As with all electronics they should be bought to fit your purpose and this fits all my needs. Its quiet, well constructed. I was dissapointed the hard disk drive that came with it was a small form factor laptop drive while it had the space for a full sized drive. That was the only disappointing surprise, I would like to see an hdmi port since it has VGA and display port but that was known when purchasing so I can't count it against it.

I'm very happy with the build, the fit and finish, and performance of the Lenovo. The i5 processor is never maxed for anything I run. I like it that Lenovo keeps the bloat ware to a minimum. The machine has wifi and Bluetooth on a daughter card so was a surprise. I use the computer for light gaming. The only con for the computer is there is only one pcie 1x slot and it is blocked by the width of the video card. I would have liked to install one additional card. There's enough USB ports that I'm able to work around this. I am very pleased with the computer and it's ultra quite. I would definitely recommend it to other buyers. Rated 5 out of 5 by from shutting down amazing how things work. i was in the middle of writing a 5 star review about how well this computer was working, how it was easy to set up right out of the box and everything worked fantastic. sadly i didnt get to finish that review because in the middle of it i got a blue screen ( not the blue screen of death ) that said, shutting down. so you dont get a great review when the machine quits while writing the review. i hope this is not a sign of things to come.

I was hopping to be able to hook up two 4K monitors, but only showed one HDMI output and one VGA. After receiving it I discovered to my pleasant surprise it had two additional ports on the video card, one "Display Port", and a "DVI" . Works great supporting both 4K monitors at 4K. Now I know how they cram more into their machines for so much less, no quality and just very bad. What a colossal waste of time, wonder if the components are even real, probably all fake. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing performing desktop for everything This desktop is replacing a desktop from another company that has a fruit as a logo. That was an excellent machine. That company cannot replicate this Lenovo Ideacentre 720 for the money. This desktop is a fantastic PC! A very nice feature on this computer is the fact that I can play great games with no issues. I bought an Acer Predator XB272 monitor. This monitor is perfect for this Nvidia card. G-Sync and 1080p go very well with this computer's hardware. I have been playing Assasin's Creed Odessey with zero issues. The game plays very smooth and no lag. The PC also runs pretty cool, although I'm sure it's working hard to play the game. Daily use is excellent. I use Chrome for browsing. I also use it as my home's network, and it broadcasts via Plex to my TV much much better than the computer this replaces. The one drawback to this Lenovo machine is Windows. I did get the Windows blue screen of death recently. I managed to reset the computer and get everything back working well. Lenovo has simple instructions in their support site, and the videos made it very easy. I have read other reviews with customers blaming Lenovo. Well, it's not Lenovo, it is a Microsoft issue. I will strongly recommend any Lenovo product to anyone looking for a computer. Their laptops are excellent, and their Smart Display is a great product. I'm looking forward to many years of using this PC at home. I hope I can learn how to do many other things like picture and video editing to give this computer a workout. I'm sure it'll handle anything I can throw at it. Way to go on a great product Lenovo. (Claps hands) Did I mention this desktop is a beautiful machine? I don't know who picks out the colors and the design; they are beautiful machines!

I give up to find out the problem, can't wait till have a solution, I bought another brand combo keyboard and mouse which works fine. Not a big deal, just don't want to waste time.

The ports are fine, it's the door covering them. Maybe a half door, but when you have something plugged in a port, the door seems to just catch items, sleeve, while doing things around it. My last Lenovo desktop the on top and easy to access.
