    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doesn't work I bought this because the wifi card in my desktop couldn't handle speeds above 150 mbps. The rep I talked with told me to buy this wifi adapter and it would provide blazing speeds (I had upgraded to Spectrum Ultra, but my internet speed barely reached 130 mpbs). Well, it arrived and I plugged it in and it failed. I rebooted my PC and tried again; same failure to load a driver. Spent a half hour with a LinkSys rep to figure out the problem and she was unable to resolve the issue. Don't waste $60 on this device especially since it can't be returrned.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am not sure I am not really sure what was the purpose of this product. Using iMac and MacBook Air I have never experienced connectivity issues. Installation of drivers was quite complicated. Additionally, the adapter, connected to the laptop, becomes a cumbersome attachment that can also easily damage the USB port. It works, but what's the point.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from A definite upgrade over internal wireless card The Linksys WUSB6400M AC1200 USB Wi-Fi Adapter is a very nice upgrade over an outdated internal wireless card. It's relatively compact and seems to be well built for a product it's size (it's smaller than what you think). The speed increase is noticeable and the setup process was relatively easy (on a MAC OS based computer. I'm sure that the setup process is just as (relatively) easy on a Windows based computer (just be sure to download the latest drivers from the WUSB6400M support page). One area that I noticed didn't seem to improve much (at least in my house) is the antenna strength of the adapter itself. It didn't seem to improve much over the internal wireless card (I have a 17" macbook pro so the wireless card in that machine is quite dated). This doesn't mean that the antenna isn't powerful enough or weaker than the internal card but YMMV based upon your environment, wireless router, layout, placement of router, etc. Overall I would say it's a worthy upgrade for a dated internal card and something to keep in your 'go bag' for backup or lending purposes. Hopefully Linksys will keep the drivers updated for this card so that it can be used for years to come.

If you can plug in a USB device, you can install this wifi adapter. The actual wifi connecting (authentication) process was very quick compared to other adapters I own and it is fast and stable. It's a simple recommend from me; painless to set up and works without problems.

As directed by the easy-to-follow Quick Start Guide, plugged it into a usb port on my Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop, and it was instantly recognized. I then went to Device Manager and installed the latest driver. I then connected to my router to establish a wifi connection to the internet. Everything was very quick and smooth. It stays connected as long as I want to be on the internet without interruption, and it transfers data very quickly. I am extremely pleased with this product and would highly recommend it to my friends and family.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Installation I had to return the wi-fi adapter from NetGear as it did not recognize the USB adapter. I ordered the Linksys for a Windows 7 desktop. Talk about a simple installation, the adapter was recognized immediately. Took 5 minutes to install and I was on the internet. I would recommend this device for any computer that need a wireless nternet link. Good job Linksys!

This review is for the Linksys WUSB6400M AC1200 MU-MIMO USB Wi-Fi Adapter, I was able to use this amazing little WiFi gadget in 3 computers, just for testing purposes, I used a windows 7 desktop, a windows 7 laptop and a windows 10 desktop. Now, let me state that first of all 3 of my machines are working flawlessly wired, so I decided to give this device a test, I had different experiences, these are my findings. My windows 10 desktop which is currently using an i7 6700K CPU and 16GB of RAM, and an SSD of 500GB with an Asus Z170-A mobo was my first choice to test this bad boy with, I'm currently on a 100MB D/L plan with Spectrum and 10MB U/L, when wired, my speeds are consistent with that, however, when I tried this USB adapter, my speeds downgraded to about 70MBS D/L and the upload stayed the same, no change there, I did make sure I was connected to a 3.0 USB port by the way, because this is a 3.0 Adapter after all, but anyways, I couldn't figure out why the speed decline, although I could've tried other options I just decided it wasn't a big deal since I was able to reach far, far, away SSIDs that I had never seen before and with great connection bars of up to 4 bars, pretty neat. Anyways, my windows 7 desktop which is a core 2 duo 4.0 machine, the moment I connected this adapter, it started literally flying, and I mean flying, this machine went beyond my 100MB D/L plan, it reached as far as 120MB D/L (upload stayed the same here too) and I was happy, because this machine is the one I use for work and well it just brought good speeds to my older desktop and although I was NOT connected to a 3.0 USB port I was dumbfounded how it reached those speeds, who knows, the bottom line is it worked great for my needs and I was happy. My Win 7 Laptop ran very smoothly when I attached this USB WiFi adapter too, my only grudge was that all 3 machines seemed to drop the connection at least once, randomly, but after that first disconnect and reconnect it wouldn't do it anymore, I'm sure this is a firmware fix but for now, I give it 4 stars in terms of reliability but I'm very happy with this device and I know some of you will be too. I do have have to clear up that this is my own experience, and my own testing using my own machines, I was not paid to do this review, I was asked to write an unbiased review in exchange for the product which is what I'm doing, I'm a consumer too and I like keeping things honest, thank you.

Here is my unbiased review: I have been a big fan of Linksys products for many years. The WUSB6400M is about as perfect as a wireless Wi-Fi adapter gets. It took all of 5 minutes to unbox, plug in, and install. It installed without a problem on Windows 10, 8.1 and 7 without having to load any drivers. It increased my speed from 72Mbps to 867Mbps on a 5Ghz network. That made a huge difference on streaming, downloads and just general web surfing. The unit is made well, is small enough to be portable, and looks good. Range wise, I walked to the neighbors house ( around 350 feet ) and only lost one bar on the range meter. If you are looking for a wireless Wi-Fi adapter to increase your speed, replace a broken one, or need a good adapter for a travel solution, then look no further. The WUSB6400M is your solution.

It allows you to use the newer WiFi bands and speeds that available today without getting a new laptop. It makes video streaming a lot smoother with less buffering. This is a good product if you're not ready for a new laptop, but it's WiFi capabilities are last generation.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Distance Coverage, needs more stability. This review is for the Belkin International - Linksys WUSB6400M AC1200 MU-MIMO USB Wi-Fi Adapter. I tested this device in 3 computers, all computers worked amazingly well, one computer was running windows 7 (desktop) another was running windows 10 (desktop) and my laptop running windows 7 as well. All I can say, none of my computers show any incompatibility using this amazing Wi-Fi adapter, I was able to see SSID networks that I had never noticed before, this proves it has great reach in coverage, I do however, have to state, that the connection did drop at least once in my test of 5 days, in all 3 machines. The connection issue resolved itself after I reconnected the adapter back to my SSID network and it work fine, I'm sure this could easily be a firmware fix, but for now, I have to give it 4 stars. I also need to state that I am a consumer, this is my unbiased review, I was given this adapter in exchange for my unbiased and honest review, I am a consumer and I also rely on reviews, I like to keep it honest, and truthfully this is my own experience and my own words, I was not paid to do this review.

I have a nice laptop but it has the old wireless N and as soon as i plugged in the AC1200 adapter its was like a new computer. the speeds were equal to me hard wiring it via Ethernet. The setup was so easy plug it in sign in to your network and full bars, full link speed Also worth mentioning the adapter like no other has a hinge that allows you to fold up the antenna for even more range. I also plugged this into my Desktop and watched youtube @ 4k 60fps . mot one frame drop or lag spike!!. Great product all the way around!!

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Adapter! I received this adapter and installed it on my laptop which has an older wireless N card. I used the included software. I had issues installing it as my laptop would not allow the installation of the driver. I then installed it on my desktop and it installed immediately and worked great so I went back to troubleshooting the laptop. It seems there was an issue on my laptop still unresolved that is asking for admin permission but I am the admin. Long story short, I decided to restart the laptop in safe mode and the driver and USB adapter installed flawlessly. I restarted and it works fine now. This seems to be an issue with my laptop, not the USB adapter. After installing, I went to the far side of the house, the farthest away from my router and was getting consistent 180 Mbps after several tests. I then went outside even farther away, probably 100 feet and I was still getting 170+ Mbps. My router is an AC1900. With the internal wireless N, the most speed I could achieve was around 50 Mbps.Since installation, I have had no issues with this adapter. It has increased my network speed greatly and has given new life to my laptop. I am very happy with the performance and speed. This adapter works with all types of routers and is especially fast if you use a USB 3.0 port. I also like the fact this is a dual band adapter since I like using the 5 ghz band. This adapter is a great network upgrade for older PC's. I also tested it's streaming performance and again, it worked flawlessly (for a 90 minute movie). Great product.

I am using it on an older laptop that was giving me headaches trying to keep connected to my router. I found I had to download a driver for this product, although the laptop was running Windows 10. After the initial set up, I have found no drop outs, and fast start up connections. I would recommend this adapter to anyone who needs a solid connection at an affordable price. I am sure that the speed comment below is my machine's capability, not the adapters fault.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful & Easy NOTE: I was sent this product to evaluate. I have tried this on the 2 PC desktops I have that do not have integrated wireless WiFi. The Windows 10 system was 'plug & play' easy, just plug the device in and in a few minutes it loaded the driver and recognized my Router. When I tried it on my Win XP Pro system, it did not load the device driver automatically, I had to use the included CD. Once done, it performed exactly as the Win 10 setup. Had exceptionally strong signal 5G reception within 50ft inside the house. Even outside in our lanai it received 4-5 bars, well over 50ft away and thru multiple walls. Device is a great cost effective alternative when you cannot used Ethernet cable.

It overlaps my other USB 3.0 port and makes it unusable, it's a deal breaker and is going back! I don't understand why Linksys didn't upgrade the 6100M to another micro adapter instead of going with his monster of a beast, surely in the past 1-1 1/2 years technology has improved to have the same size adapter that is more powerful.

This one was very easy to set up on windows 10 just plug it into the USB 3.0 and the driver loads. I was up on the internet in just like less then a minute. It has Dual Band and the 5ghz band is fast and very reliable no issue's with this adapter. Would recommend to anyone needing one for a faster laptop connection then their internal wireless.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product for any computer in a Dead Zone The Linksys WUSB6400M AC1200 MU-MIMO USB Wi-Fi Adapter is a USB adapter that provides a wireless network connection through a USB connection. What's remarkable about this little device is that it is a dual-band AC adapter, so you can pick up either 2.4 or 5 GHz at AC level speeds allowing for fast connections. It also features MU-MIMO technology so your WiFi connection won't be clogged up by multiple users on the same channel. It requires USB 2.0 at the minimum, but for best results, it is recommended that you have a USB 3.0 connection. You can see the device in the pictures. It's a small little device, with what seems to be a foldable antenna, so you just plug it in, unfold the part, and let it do its work. It comes with a quick start guide and a CD-rom with documentation and drivers. The outside is plastic, but the inside part is more smooth, so be careful with fingerprints. Installation was relatively easy. The quick start guide says that when you plug it in, the drivers would install automatically. However, it did not for my computer. I'm running Windows 10, and it showed up in my Device Manager but not under the wireless utilities/devices. Thus, I had to use the CD-ROM that came with it and install the drivers that way. Be wary of that when trying to set this up. Testing the device showed great performance. Please keep in mind that I'm in a 2200 square foot house, and my current router is a wireless mesh router with nodes around the house. One node reaches up to 2000 sq ft, so I needed two nodes for maximum coverage. One node was situated at one corner of the house while the second node was placed at the other corner of the house on the second floor. The computer I used to run this test was a desktop computer running Windows 10 with an i7 processor, 16 GB of RAM, and a motherboard with USB 3.0, situated at one corner of the house, which happens to be a bit of a dead zone with the walls around it. With my old USB wireless adapter, I could only connect to my home network when two nodes were active. I could not connect when only one node was active. My old adapter was a Wireless-N adapter. Results for that were decent given the two-node connection. Using Ookla speedtest, I got a 11.056 Mbps download speed and a 4.082 upload speed. Decent, but the fact that this couldn't connect when one node was active was disappointing. Once I checked speeds with my old device, I uninstalled drivers for it and installed the new Linksys adapter in one of the USB 3.0 ports on my motherboard. Immediately, I could tell that the results were much better. There was no need for a separate program to work with the adapter to find a WiFi connection. I could just run it as if it were a laptop computer. With this new adapter, I could connect to my network when there was only 1 node active, so that's a big difference. With one node, I got a 6.356 download speed and a 1.59 upload speed. This does seem a bit low, but considering that the computer is in a dead zone and this was from one node at the opposite end of the house, I'd say that this is acceptable. With two nodes, the results jumped to 32.13 Mbps download and 19.14 upload. Clearly, this works even better with two nodes. All in all, this device works as expected, though installation was a bit of a bummer since it didn't install drivers automatically. Nevertheless, the speed test of this device showcased how it greatly expanded my computer's WiFi capabilities. Keep in mind that these tests were from an immediate test, so results may vary over time. Regardless, I have full confidence that this device will be a fit for everyone.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Go out and buy it! I received this item as part of the Linksys friends and family program. I would have bought it anyway. I have been waiting for Linksys to come out with something similar to this and it checks all the boxes for me. I used the Netgear (A6210) AC1200 for comparison. I liked the Netgear, but this Linksys WUSB6400M unit in my unscientific comparison works better. The Netgear unit was buggy. It would disconnect off an on for no reason and this Linksys unit has been rock solid for days. No issues at all. The set up of the Linksys was easy. I plugged in in, put in my Wi-Fi password and that was it. Took me less than five minutes to install. This unit has a much smaller profile that the Netgear and will take up little real estate if using with a laptop. Performance wise, I find the Linksys unit loads pages quicker and doesn't lag. I found the Linksys to run bandwidth tests about 10% faster than the Netgear. Overall this Linksys WUSB6400M a keeper.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolute No Packet Loss! I received this product from the Linksys and Friends + Family program where I test the product and provide my input. For USB network adapters, this has to be by far the best and is well-suited for the next generation of MU-MIMO wireless technology. The setup was very simple, connect the Wi-Fi Adapter into the PC and the driver will install. Once this completes, be sure to switch over to the adapter for your wifi connection as seen in the photo provided. The White solid LED light ensures the setup has completed, if it is orange, you are not using the adapter to connect to your wifi. I am seeing speeds that I should be getting with this adapter therefore, it has equipped my laptop to better meet connection . Highly recommend for users and I was able to test it in my current environment where my laptop had been suffering connection issues as my router is broadcasting AC speeds and my laptop has an older network chipset. Great addition to the next generation of IoT where computers gain network benefits as well!

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent boost to speed and signal I need a boost anytime I was downstairs, so I tried this USB adapter out to see how it would work. I have a Linksys 802.11AC router to go along with this adapter. I set it up on the desk top first and it was very easy to install, basically plus in and it did the rest. There was a good boost on the desk top so I thought I would try the laptop and the speeds increase was beyond expection. I went from a download speed of 11.36 to 119.07 and a upload speed of 5.46 to 5.92. I would positively recommend this product to anyone.

WoW , is my 1st impression . Once I figured out how to get it installed(took a bit of trial and error) I ran a Speed test to see what if any improvement I might get ... WoW is what I got .... Runs as fast as my Hard Wired desk top .... 90Mbps .... IMO , This unit solved the connection speed issues I've been trying to fix . Bought a wrt3200acm router a couple of months ago while upgrading the whole computer system. Computer ,modem, router . Now , I'm getting the speeds I should be getting . I can't rate some options as I haven't had it long enough and not tested it's distance .... I have a feeling it's all good

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from EASY TO ACTIVATE - GREATLY IMPROVES Wi-Fi SIGNAL This product does not enhance your existing Wi-Fi connection, it replaces it. Meaning, you will need to use this device to access Wi-Fi once installed, not just when you want an improved signal. That being said, I wish I had purchased this years ago. Very easy to install, support available if needed for any reason. I have two computers that could not recognize 5G Wi-Fi band signal. Between improved signal reception and access to 5G, all signal issued resolved!

I just plugged it into my my desktop and the software automatically loaded. I checked the speed and I am getting 30 more MBPS with the new adapter. Since I need as much speed as possible, I really did need it! It truly could not be any easier to install and it works perfectly!

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Wi-Fi replacement This is the Linksys WUSB6400M AC1200 MU-MMO USB Wi-Fi Adapter. As soon as I got this product I started testing the range which is the most important thing anyone cares and bandwidth performance. In my test this device did well and the range was good I would say 50 feet from where the router is located the range was good for my computer. You might ask yourself in what scenario would I buy this device and the answer is quite simple if your Wi-Fi adapter is bad, you don’t want to run a cat5 cable to the desktop or laptop, also in case you guys spend time in the field and your away from wireless router this makes for a great adapter to have. There can be many more scenarios I am just giving you some examples. I installed the device in a iMac and it worked fine I used the included CD for installation and it was a simple and easy. Something to note is that the software has bugs for some reason the signal strength was showing orange/yellow when I had the computer near the router. When I tried installing the software via download to a PC that’s where I ran into problems. Windows 10 pro was making me do command prompts that might be a bit too much if you’re not a tech person. I am hoping that Linksys fixes the drives utility for customer so it’s easier and not a headache. In conclusion this is a great Wi-Fi adapter works great with other routers and Linksys routers. I would like to test it with the new WRT Linksys WRT3200ACM or the newer router that is about to come out for gaming the Linksys WRT32X AC3200 Dual-Band Gaming Router to see the performance output.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Nice WiFi Adapter Craftsmanship of the Linksys WUSB6400M is also impressive. From the moment you remove it from the box you can tell that it is very good quality. The antennae part that flips up feels very durable and I feel it will last. To test the performance of the Linksys WUSB6400M I used my HP Spectre Laptop and a USB 3.0 port. Using my Linksys EA9500 router, I connected to both bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) to compare the speed differences between my internal WiFi adapter and the WUSB6400M. On the 2.4 GHz band, the WUSB was 29.1 Mbps faster than my internal WiFi adapter. On the 5 GHz band, the WUSB was only .3 Mbps faster but the WUSB6400M was running at the full 867.0 Mbps. To test network strength, I tested the WUSB6400M against my internal WiFi adapter for how strong a connection I could hold while walking away from my house at different spots. The WUSB6400M was quite a bit stronger than my internal WiFi adapter at all the spots and I was able to keep walking to a spot where my internal adapter no longer had a network connection. Overall, I am very pleased with the Linksys WUSB6400M.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Design & Solid Performance First off I want to say that I received this product for free thru the Linksys Friends and Family program in exchange for an honest review. The design of the product is quite compact and versatile. I am a fan of the sleek black look and the small footprint. The setup of the device for me was on Windows 10 Home and was simple plug and play. Although, I would say after plugging it in and connecting it did disconnect on me once, but after that it stayed up for the duration of use. This USB adapter has exceptional range as I went outside and had no signal degradation or “drops”. I also unplugged my router for it to disconnect and plugged it back in and it automatically reconnected within a minute. Overall, after using this product for a couple weeks I would definitely recommend it to friends and family, I want to iterate this because my experience with these devices(other brands – not Linksys) in the past are NOT good.(constant signal loss, connection drops)

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW! Super Fast Wireless I received this device free from Linksys Friends and Family and I must say this is an extremely FAST wireless adapter. I stream movies from my main desktop computer to my laptop in another room wirelessly, which is then connected to my TV through an HDMI cable. There is NO buffering, No lag, NO hesitation. Previously, I was only able to do this with a wired connection. My wired connection is 100mbps. This wireless connection is 867mbps. I am thoroughly impressed with this performance. One more thing...wireless adapters usually require a driver installation disk. This is strictly plug and play on my Windows 10 setup. I love this!!!!

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from impressive performance boost I received a WUSB6400M AC1200 MU-MIMO USB WI-FI ADAPTER free from Linksys in exchange for my honest review. I installed and tested this adapter on two devices: a Windows 7 pc and an Apple MacBook Air. Installation on the Windows 7 pc required me to use the included device driver CD. Once installed, my link speed went from 144.5mbps to 300mbps using a wireless “n” router—quite an improvement! Installation on the MacBook also required the CD. In the location the laptop is normally used, I get WI-FI link speeds varying from 527mbps to 585mbps using a wireless “ac” router. With the WUSB6400M adapter, my link speed jumped to about 780mbps—an impressive improvement!. Closer to my router, the link speed increased to 867mbps. The WUSB6400M streams HD video beautifully, with no buffering or lag. Upgrading older devices to Next-Gen AC is the way to go and the WUSB6400M gets your devices there. I was thrilled with the performance boost I saw. I love it!

My cable company has been advertising the 100+Mbps download for my internet so I upgraded to the AC2600 4 x 4 MU-MIMO Dual-Band Gigabit Router (EA8500) and got a download speed of 41Mbps. When I started using the WUSB6400M (AC1200) MU-MIMO USB Wi-Fi Adapter on my laptop was I able to download at 135Mbps! Upload remained the same in both cases at 5.8 Mbps. The setup was easy once I remembered to turn off the built-in wireless adapter on the laptop.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really Good So far, so good with this tiny USB network adapter. Size-wise, it's perfect, and the LED helps you determine, at a glance, if it is connected to a network. Setup was a breeze on both Mac and PC. The signal strength is about 20% better than without the adapter (Internal WiFi card). It has performed flawlessly. However, be warned that whenever you use a USB port for a Wi-Fi adapter on a computer which you keep on all the time -- and which goes into power save mode -- you will need to go into "Device Manager," locate the adapter, select "Properties" then "Power Management," and disable (uncheck the box) the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" option. Otherwise, when you "wake" the computer out of sleep mode, it will not connect to the Internet without you going through the steps to reconnect it. This isn't a flaw for the adapter, but rather an issue with Windows.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very easy to set up and to use I am very happy with this product, not only did it increase my internet speed, but now I do not use my default wifi settings which came with the computer. The Adapter was very easy to set up and also helps my internet to work faster. I simply plugin it in and then fill in the password if I am using a new WiFi and it works great. I carry it everywhere and while it is an extra step to plug it in, it saves me time in the long run with the speed it delivers.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid USB 3.0 WiFi adapter with a flip extension Last year I bought a competitor's PCI Express Wifi card to get 5Ghz on my desktop. The speeds I've consistently received were in the 50Mbps area, sometimes peaking around 75Mbps under ideal conditions. I should note that my router is on the main floor and my computer is upstairs on the opposite end of the house. The distance, if I was to draw a straight line through the walls, is somewhere around 40-50 feet. Last week I received this WiFi adapter free in exchange for honest feedback. Installation couldn't have been easier as I simply plugged it into my USB 3.0 slot and Windows 10 installed the device drivers for me. The speeds I'm consistently obtaining are around 160Mbps, more than 3x what I was receiving! "It's not the size of the dog..." There's not much else to point out because my experience was so simple. I haven't used any Linksys software with the adapter so I can't speak directly to that. The adapter is black, about 2 inches long and maybe 1/3 of an inch thick? Definitely not too big, but larger than a typical USB storage drive. Also, it literally was plug and play and I disabled my other WiFi devices to ensure this was the default. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a simple and powerful USB WiFi adapter for a laptop or desktop.
