Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sucks. Honestly, it never stays connected for longer than two hours. You keep having to reconnected. Must have the CD with you at all times. Biggest hassle ever. First my HP notebook is faulty then the “fix” my problem is faulty. Last time I purchase HP for sure.

My old one was through the Netgeat's program. No instructions. It is fine now and has eliminated all the faults of the old one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well, but... I purchased a dell desktop computer only to find out that it has no wireless card! Who makes computers today without wireless cards. Dell's response to me was "we don't supply wireless cards with desktop computers. You need to specify that when you are ordering." Well, my response is "Who makes computers without wireless cards?" i never would have even thought to ask when ordering the computer. So i had to obtain this device after purchasing the computer and having it sit on my desk for a while unable to use it. Sheesh....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Problems with Windows 10 It worked well for a couple of weeks, then my Windows 10 laptop started crashing to a blue screen of death with the following message: "Your PC ran into a problem and it needs to restart. We're just collecting some error info, and then we'll restart for you. Stop Code: BAD POOL HEADER". This happened several (3 or 4) times per day. Investigating this, I came upon a suggestion to remove all external devices from the laptop, so I removed the AE6000. The laptop then worked fine without error for several days. I then plugged the device back in and within 2 minutes the laptop crashed again with the same message. I then went to the Linksys support page to see if there was a driver update available, and their latest driver version was 5.01.25.0 which is the exact version that I have. So, I would not recommend this device for Windows 10.

It started with dropping connection all the time then moved to not remembering my home WiFi connection every time my computer restarted. I would have to reinstall it now it does pick up the AC connection on the 5.2 connection is junk do not buy this

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expected more speed. I purchased this adapter to fix a Windows 10 problem with the adapter inside my laptop. I have a Linsys EA4500 n900 wireless router. If I connect to the internet with a cable, I can get as much as 170Mbps download. With this adapter as configured automatically or any other way, the best I can do is 80Mbps. I tried to run 5GHz only since none of the other routers in the neighborhood have 5GHz, but that made things worse. The Windows network tools say I have only a 150Mbps connection. I was expecting to see twice that. I am onl5 feet from the router.antenna.

When I did, the receiver I used with Windows XP continually would drop the signal from my Linksys Wireless Router. After talking with a technician at Linksys, they recommended the new AE6000. I have not dropped my signal again. I works Great, thanks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AE6000 requires a CD reader. Really? I bought two of these and wish I hadn't. Neither of my two laptos has a CD reader and trying to find a way to download the software/drivers was not at all easy. Ultimately, I think I found what I was looking for, but the printout was 24 pages, which screamed out "Don't try this!" Now, I'm trying to figure out if Linksys will accept a return which, again, is not easy to figure out. Couldn't be less happy with the product. There was no mention of a CD in the email "selling" this product and no mention in the package how to download the software/drivers. I mean, really, who has a CD driver now on their laptop?

I have owned 6 Linksys routers, but this adaptor is total disappointment, only works on 2.4 gh and doesn't do that very well. I had to purchase a Netgear AC adaptor to get the ac speeds, lots of bad comments on the internet about this adaptor and Win 8.1. No solutions that I am aware of, probably the last Linksys adaptor I will purchase, My next router will not be a Linksys!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointing that it doesn't work on Mac Is day and age, a $50+ item cannot only support one major operating system, granted it was given for 'free' as part of the router purchase but we are a Mac household and I was hoping my wife could boost her old MacBook Pro, so bummer! I guess it is a gift then for someone that has a PC. Quite unacceptable actually that a product like this doesn't support both pc and Mac

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Refurbished AE6000 is a winner I needed a backup internet connection for when my horrible Comcast internet service goes down. I needed to find a USB adapter for my desktop PC so I could tether (wireless connect my PC) to my AT&T phone and stay online. The AE6000 is very small and offers a fast and reliable connection. Was an easy install on Win 10. I use the second AE6000 with my Raspberry Pi 2 Rune Audio music server.

The replacement is more stable but will not register any speeds above 150; even my old N series adapter register 300. For those of us with newer routers look at another product.

Bought this for my ThinkStation Lenovo D30 server instead of installing the wireless card, of all the computers I own the D30 with the AE6000 Linksys has by far the fastest internet connection of all, it jives well with the WRT1900AC router extremely well. I don't know exactly why, but this set up achieves download speeds 2 to 3 times faster than anything else I have.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works great and easy to set up The Linksys AE6000 was easy to setup. And gives faster connection than the other adapter I was using. Which is another brand. It keeps a constant connection to the Internet and doesn't lose it self. It also has a larger WIFI range.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought this for its compact size. Unfortunatel.. The size the of mini USB is great and doesn't get in the way like some of my old wireless adapters. However I have seen a significant drop in bandwidth from approximately 10m distance from my router. When I'm running ethernet I get just about 60mbs down and 20mbs up which is expected when using a direct line. When switching to the wireless adapter my download went to 4mbs and my up stayed around 15mbs. I've used multiple wireless adapters, and there is always lost bandwidth when relying on wireless instead of wired, but I've never once had it be this drastic making it very difficult to use the wifi for the purposes I need it for. I plan to return this product and go back to a more reliable adapter.

First off, the disk was blocked by my security, and then once i found the drivers on the internet, my download speeds were atrocious. I can barely surf the web with this product. If you have windows 10, don't buy this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great improvement of speed. I bought this s few weeks ago. My NIC card was not capable of 5Ghz. The Linksys AE6000 Wireless-AC Mini USB Adapter put it right up there. Instillation was a snap. Just plug it in to a USB port and Windows does the rest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not worth the sale price - I don't recommend Hi purchased the AE6000 on sale. It is not good for everyday use. The first AE6000 that was delivered didn't work at all - simply non-functional from the moment I first tried to use it. The second, replacement, device does work. However the speeds are slow compared to other wireless devices I have that aren't even AC. And the sustained throughput was not reliable. It does work, it does turn on and is recognized by the computer. Just not a good AC device.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SO FAST! ROCK-SOLID CONNECTION. Excellent product! My Lenovo W520 had slow, erratic WiFi with the built-in 5GHz adapter. I added the Linksys AE6000 / AC583 adapter and now I get consistent 430Mbps when paired with Linksys EA6900. Signal strength is 100% at long distance. Fastest wireless I have ever experienced.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly dissapointed Was excited to replace fairly old AE25000 with a purported faster USB adapter with better connectivity, and when I could get a signal, the speed was indeed much improved and install was very quick. That said, the connection was unable to hold for anything longer than thirty seconds, and the household router is less than ten feet away from my desktop. While it's possible I ended up with one of the few below-standard drives (the plastic casing was slightly loose upon opening package), there's no reason my current drive (which is nearly falling apart) should be outstripping this in terms of stability and, though the size is nice and convenient, I cannot recommend this product.

We use Skype & Facebook to stay in touch, this adapter does it all and when my husband got us a new router - my laptop was off to the races. Thank you Linksys for always having the best products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great replacement wireless-AC USB adapter My older HP dv7 laptop has an Atheros AR9285 adapter which was being used with a Linksys E2500 dual band wireless-N router. The adapter kept dropping the signal which is documented in user forums. The E2500 works great with other computers so I knew that was not the problem. I upgraded to the EA6500 Linksys router paired with the AE6000 wireless-AC USB adapter. My connectivity and speed problems were resolved! Installation and set-up was easy, and one only needs to disable the device driver on the old adapter. I checked other brands before purchase, and this was the only mini USB adapter that uses the wireless-AC technology, so I like the smaller profile.

Super easy to install following HP instructions.. It also saved me hundreds of dollars in not having to buy a new computer.. Very happy with my [ OLD ] HP computer
