Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fails to connect, causes Windows 10 to crash I bought this a month ago for a computer that is old enough to not have a wifi adapter built in. When the PC boots, the adapter fails, about 14 out of 15 boots. It acts strangely, both saying Wifi is on, but no endpoints found, and yet, shows the "world" icon, which normally means connected to a router that doesn't have internet. This occurs even though wifi is working, which I know because: 1) My phone right next to it is connected 2) My Win10 laptop right next to it is connected 3) That 1 in 15 times that it boots and works - it's connected Aside from restarting the usual solution would be to Troubleshoot the connection/device, which results in Windows 10 resetting the device. When it does, it gets a Blue Screen of Death, with an error in athuac8x.sys, which I believe is the driver for this USB wifi adapter - ath is usually short for Atheros, the name of the Qualcomm chip in Linksys wifi devices. Given that takes the machine offline, it's then very hard to attempt other troubleshooting avenues. In addition, Linksys does not appear to have updated these drivers at all, in several years - even though they're still selling them very actively at Best Buy, the driver software that keeps failing is still on Version 1.0. No one should buy this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolute junk. Constantly drops connection. This thing will get like 140 mbps one minute than .5 the next. After exhaustive trouble shooting and perusing their support forums not only am i not the only person with this issue but they dont' seem interested at all in fixing it. Go look for yourself, multiple threads and nobody gets the issue resolved. The only reason i never returned it was because it sat in the box for a year before i had to use it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to Install & Use I bought this for a computer build as my motherboard didn't have a wifi-adapter. No worries! Simply had to install the usb and enter my network information. Only one instance has it shut down, but quickly started back up. Works great on all my usb ports and the speed is super fast!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not up to Linksys standard Knowing the quality and reputation of Linksys, I was excited to try the Wi-Fi adapter. I recently relocated my desktop to a room without an Ethernet port. Setup was super easy as would be expected, Performance was average. I only gave it three stars, that was being generous, anytime after a power down event, I had to unplug the adapter and plug it back in. I don't believe it is a computer issue as other adapters work fine. I wanted to try it on wife's laptop, since she has built in N adapter. I could not get it to work on her laptop. Both computers running Windows 10.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great. Easy to install and use I received this usb wi-fi adapter last week. Following instructions, I inserted the driver CD and installed the driver. Then simply inserted the usb adaapter. It was recognized immediately. After selecting the network I was looking to connect, I was online. Performance was quite good and response immediate. I tried it with both a Netgear and Linksys router. No problems with either. It worked and stayed connected on both. Connected in both 5GHZ and 2.4GHZ with no problems. Performance was better in the 5GHZ spectrum. Only problem was with Windows 10 power saving. When the PC went into power save mode the adapter would not come back after the PC came out of power save mode. I unplugged the adapter and plugged it back in and then it works. I later went into the windows settings for the adapter and unchecked the box to allow windows to power down the device in power save mode. This fixed the problem. Other than that, I can recommend this as a simple cost effective upgrade for any device needing the additional throughput and perfromance 802.11 AC provides.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A lot of power in a very small package. When I opened the box holding the new Linksys WUSB6100M Max-Stream AC600 Wi-Fi Micro USB Adapter I couldn't believe the size of it. At just over an inch long, it packs the ability to speed up the wireless network in my house. I followed the suggestions on the Linksys website and plugged it into a USB port on my laptop. It connected immediately to my network. It was effortless. There were immediate results in increased connection speeds, full strength signals throughout my house and no dropped or weakened network connections. I'm talking 2 tablets, smartphone, and desktop throughout the house. The WUSB6100M AC600 did all of that by just plugging it into the USB port on my laptop. This Micro USB adapter is REALLY worth buying. I recommend it to anyone with a home network based on my experiences with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong Signal - Fast Speeds I purchased this unit to pair with the EA7500 MU MI-MO router. They are a great pair. Speeds are faster then I was getting with my e3000 and ea1000 (which died, and replaced with a WUSB6300). It's pretty good aside from the drivers sometimes having to be reloaded with a reboot. Could be my machine. Didn't experience it withe other USB adapters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointing I was extremely hopeful that this new adapter would improve the performance of our laptop, which is one floor away from our "matching" EA-8500 MU-MIMO router. I was disappointed to find that the throughput is actually slightly better using the laptop's built-in network adapter. Sorry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nothing great I keep getting prompted by Windows 7 Professional that the adapter would work faster if it were plugged into a USB 3.0 port (which it is). Not sure what that's about. I haven't had any problems with it, but the pop up message is annoying more than anything.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Advancement I received this unit and tried it out on a laptop that I use for most of my work. The units capability was amazing compared to the laptops on board built in wireless system. It worked so much better that I am using it instead. The only issue is it does take a usb port, which I really don't need. I have 6 ports on my laptop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well, good range, solid 11ac performance I received the Max Stream AC600 from Linksys in return for an honest review/evaluation. I have just the type of notebook that can benefit from this wireless usb adapter, a Windows 10, Intel i5 unit with a fast SSD drive and 12gb of memory...but limited by it's built in 2.4ghz 11n wifi. With it's built in wifi I could only hit between 40 - 60 mbps. Installation was simple, I did have to install the included drivers, based on the notebook used you may or may not need to do this, but install the drivers, and pop it in a usb 2.0/3.0 port and there you are. The AC600 is a usb 2.0 adapter, performance was pretty much identical whether I used a usb 2.0 or 3.0 port. The adapter is small and does not block adjacent usb ports. Note: the AC600 performed flawlessly to the limits of my ISP plan and router, a 150Mbps plan with the Linksys 1900 ACS router, but I do not have a Mu-Mimo router yet (or 433Mbps service), so Mu-Mimo performance is not something that I can yet report on. With the AC600 I get 165 - 175 Mbps consistently through the 11ac channel, which is the same as I get through a wired connection, and there is very little performance drop throughout my 1000+ square foot apartment and out on the deck outside. Connectivity has been rock-solid and streaming Netflix movies through my Roku has been smooth with no jitters or pauses. I've had the opportunity to connect this through a couple of other networks using non-Linksys routers, and had no issues with connectivity or performance. If you already have, or are planning on upgrading your wireless router to AC or AC Mu-Mimo this is perfect for getting a notebook with an 11n or less wifi card to take full advantage of your network's capabilities.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Linksys WUSB6100M Max-Stream AC600 Wi-Fi Micro USB I received this adapter a couple of weeks ago, plug in the adapter and less than a minute it was set up. All I had to do was connect to my AC wireless network. The adapter is very solid and connections did not drop after heavy use. This is a great adapter that creates a solid connection and never fails. I highly recommended the AC600 Micro Adapter,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product The Linksys WUSB6100M Max-Stream AC600 Wi-Fi Micro USB Adapter rates 5 stars because it is dependable, easy to setup and has an excellent range. Compared to the wifi adapter built in to my laptop, this USB adapter almost doubles the range distance. It only took me a couple minutes to setup. Does require you to set it as the default wifi adapter. Again a simple process of right-clicking on the adapter and setting it as default. Every thing worked better than expected.

I received my Next -Gen MAX-STREAM AC600 WI-FI MICRO USB ADAPTER in a very timely maner. The tech who helped me went beyond helping by explaining everything. I had no problems once the adapter got here. I didn't think it was going to work because it's upstairs at the other end of the house. It works fantastic. Thank LINKSYS

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy install, works on various devices and Wi-Fi n This device as provided to me at no cost to test and review. I installed the WiFi adapter on 3 different PCs, (self built Asus PC, Dell Vostro laptop, and very old kit PC. The device was recognized immediately upon connection on my Asus PC, the other two required the included CD/driver. All 3 PCs are Windows 10. On my 5g Wifi network I saw 26.2 to 33.9 MBs download from Synology NAS (260-330 Mbs) and 18.6 to 19.7 MBs upload from PC to syno NAS (186 to 197 Mbs). Performance on the 2g Wi-Fi was slower as should be expected. This is definitely a device that installs easily and performs as expected per the Wi-Fi standards.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great adapter This little adapter has been amazing. Directions are very easy to follow. I spend a lot of time in the kitchen doing "mom stuff" and the wifi barley reaches and buffers or drops off a lot. Since plugging in the adapter it has grabbed the wifi and not let go! I can watch you tube, a movie on Netflix or listen to music with no buffering whatsoever. I will be getting a few more for our other laptops!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OS upgrade needed I waited quite a while for this adapter to be available for purchase, but when I finally ordered and received it, I discovered that it will not work with the Windows XP OS on my wife's computer. I guess it's time to upgrade -- either to Windows 7 or a new computer. And so I shall wait some more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Increased Speed I received the micro USB adapter a couple of weeks ago and was skeptical. A products that boasts that it can speed up my internet X3 just by plugging in a USB adapter. I must say I was pleasantly surprised when I checked the speeds of my internet with and without the adapter. It was true my speed went from 144 to 433 mbps. Set up couldn't have been any easier. I just plugged it in, turned off my laptops wifi adapter and I was good too go. Very impressed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Melted I recently purchased a Linksys WUSB6100M Max-Stream™ AC600 Wi-Fi Micro USB Adapter from Best Buy brand new. I plugged it into a USB port on my Lenovo H520s i7 desktop computer. Everything appeared fine for all of 5 minutes, just enough time for me to complete setting up the device. After 5 minutes, I notice the flashing orange light on the micro USB adapter quit flashing. I plugged in several different USB devices into the same port to test whether or not it was the port or the device. But every other device I tested worked fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Product At first glance this is a product that could easily be dismissed as unnecessary but the gains that I've received from the improved performance I believe would be well worth the cost. I reside in a rural area and receive my ISP via a wireless router with a medium signal strength. This USB Adaptor has greatly improved the quality and DL speeds from my router and signal extender to my AIO PC.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Drops connection randomly.... Desk to Linksys router is only 12 feet, works great for a while, fast, then drops and has to be reconnected, haven't figured out what the problem is yet, still looking at it when I have time. Not happy with it yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Speeds are Fantastics I bought 5 of these to replace the all the cat 5/6 cables lying around in the game room. I was using a Tp Link power-line adapter to carry the load down to the basement and was only seeing around 60-80 mbps when 3 machine were actively gaming. With 3 of these Linksys 6100M's in place and they all are simultaneously hitting speeds of 250mbps up and 150mbps down. Great investment and more importantly no wires or hub lying around. We need to wear seat belts when surfing and gaming since we are moving soooooooo fast!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome adapter! Please note, I did receive this device in exchange for an unbiased review. I unhooked the Ethernet cable and disabled the built-in WiFi adapter on my ASUS laptop, and installed the Linksys WUSB6100M AC600 adapter in its place. Installation was quick and easy; my ASUS is running Windows 10 Pro, and I had no issues installing the driver for the WiFi adapter. I always reboot after I install new hardware, so did that, and then put this little gadget to the test. And... WOW!!! I was absolutely blown away at the improvement in the speed of my WiFi! So much faster than the WiFi built into my laptop, and of course, so much more secure because it's got AC security. It was speaking to my AC router instantly after the installation, and has been running flawlessly since I installed it. Just for grins, I unhooked it and transferred it to a HP EliteDesk Mini PC that I have here and am working on, to see how it worked on that little PC. Same result! Absolutely blown away by the improvement in speed, so I kept it installed until I had all the Windows Updates for Windows 7 Pro finished on it. I plan to put it back on that PC when I do the upgrade to Windows 10 later today, since it runs so much faster when doing updates. I also plan to recommend this adapter to the owner of the PC, to replace the built-in WiFi in his new little PC. This is an extremely impressive piece of hardware, and I'm glad to have it here. I like the additional speed from it, and I really like knowing that I have the highest level of security for my WiFi. This laptop doesn't leave the house, so it won't get tested outside of my home, which is a shame. (I'm retired, so don't have to worry about hauling my laptop around with me.) However, I am totally impressed with the Linksys AC600 Adapter, and am going to recommend it to a number of friends who are always complaining how slow their WiFi runs. This little device will definitely solve their problems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from below average I bought this today for my laptop to increase existing WiFi speed but the result is below my expectation....after plugged the adapter windows 10 automatically recognised and installation has been done successfully......when I'm trying to connect WiFi it's showing two wireless networks....1.wireless network 2. WiFi 2(USB adapter ) both network showing my existing WiFi so if I wanna connect with 1st network as usual I can do without USB adapter how I did before....if I wanna connect with WiFi 2 at that time I'll use USB adapter this is ridiculous....in this case no point of using adapter.....I thought it will increase my existing WiFi speed but it doesn't happen....any one can advise me?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Installed easy, WELL?? I plugged this unit into my USB 2.0 using Win 8.1 pro it wasn't plug and play. I turned off my Intel WIFI card and had to use the CD that comes with AC600 and it installed fine. I had to go in to the control panel to disable the Intel WIFI and enable the AC600. The one thing I noticed right way that the AC600 speed was 87mbs while my Intel N card it would read 144mbs.? Went to speedtest.net AC600 I have comcast tested 54mbs download and 24mbs upload. Not sure why it is not picking up my AC speed I was hoping I'd get a higher speed with my new linksys router with mu mimo When I tried to install on a laptop win 7 pro it would not install and it told me the certs were not signed so it would not allow it to work. Again it did not Recognize this unit had to use the CD never could get it to work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic performance I bought my laptop in 2010 so technology is not the latest, therefore my wifi signal is very limited and I don't get much signal anywhere around home. So it was either getting a new laptop or buying this adaptor. I went with the most affordable option. This is definitely a life saver. My signal is way stronger than before and I am able to use the 5Ghz signal now to not interfere with my smart gadgets around home. Installation is pretty easy and it is small enough that you wont even notice it is there. Great buy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Spped I have fairly new HP 15 Notebook PC running Windows 10 that seems to run slow on the Internet. It also only connects to the 2.4 MHz network. I installed the Lynksys Max Stream AC600 adapter and saw massive increases in speed and performance. I used network speed test app by Microsoft Researh and got the following results: internal wireless network card, 2.4 MHz network - download: 6.46 Mbps; uploade 4.59 Mbps. The Linksys adpapter performed much better. 2.4Mhz network - download: 17.23 Mbps; upload: 7.32 Mbps. 5.0 MHz network - download 64.28 Mbps; upload: 7.32 Mbps. I definetly recommend this product!

It worked well in both the 2.4 Ghz and 5.0 Ghz bands. I was able to connect at 30 Mbps on the 2.4 Ghz band and at 50 Mbps on the 5.0 Ghz band using a 50 Mbps Internet connection. It is very small and compact so it doesn't take up much space in use or storage. It doesn't get hot or use much power.

I have been using this adapted for a little over three weeks now, and I have noticed a remarkable increase in my computers speed. I have an HP laptop that is a couple of years old, and run Windows 8.1. Installation was super easy. No problems so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from performance is everything I have a AE3500(n750) router with Comcast 150 Mbps service, the AC600 gives me about 70 Mbps on wifi. I also have a AE6000 micro usb adapter, both using the 5 GHz band, the AC600 is faster on wifi then the AE6000,the only downside of the AC600 is the physical size, the AC6000 is smaller, size becomes an issue when the AC600 is plugged into a laptop's side connector, no question it performs very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect addition for my old laptop I started using the WUSB6100M Max-Stream about a month ago and it has been a perfect upgrade for my old lap top. I have used on my home network (AC network) and I have used it in many different hotel across the US with out any problems or issues. It was very easy to setup it basicly did everything for me. I plug it in and it has found the network every time and connected. That's what I wanted it to do and it did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Setup Great Performance I ordered this Max Stream AC600 about 3 weeks ago and it was waiting for me upon return from vacation. I would love to say how I applied all sorts of great technical knowledge to install this unit but that wouldn't be the truth. I popped in the CD and 3 to 4 minutes later it was working perfectly. 1st thing was to Speed Test it's speed from the same location in the house where I always use the laptop. The results were exactly what I pay my ISP for. After using this for several days the units performance has been flawless without any glitches whatsoever. I have 25 years of computer consulting so when I had this opportunity to try Linksys products and write reviews I believed with those years of experience I could review products and write meaningful reviews.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the worst product I’ve ever received The Linksys ac600 USB adapter is the worst piece of tech I’ve ever received For starters, it randomly disconnects from the games I’m playing for absolutely no reason at all, and I have yet to find help with this issue dispite all the searching I’ve been doing. Second, the update speed is out of this reality terrible. I had to wait 7 hours for a game download in order for a game download, but by that time it was only at 18%. After that, the download randomly restarted and I had to wait another 3 hours before giving up, because it was only at 1%. Third, the customer service sucks.. REALLY sucks. After waiting 10 minutes to talk to someone, the person on the other side did not help one bit. The only thing he asked or said was for my first and last name, and quite frankly I don’t have time for that. I just wanted some quick tips and help to improve the speed for the dumb adapter, but the only thing he said after every statement was “mhm”. And last of all, it was 40 dollars. In my whole life, I have never seen something so lazy being done to someone. Really? $40? For something that has a download speed less than 0? It’s an expensive product that’s worth literally no money. I bet I could find something better on a muddy rainy abandoned street corner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mixed Results I tested this product on two older computers, an Acer Aspire desktop vintage 2007 and a Lenovo Y530 laptop vintage 2006. The former is using Win 10 and the latter Win 7 w/SP2. Setup was easy on both. Drivers installed as within a minute or two of inserting the adapter in the USB. Both saw the wireless networks and after entering the password, but jumped right on. The desktop is in my living room and the router and for the network is located in my loft office above and about 30 feet away. It had been using a Cisco AE1000 USB adapter to access the network. This computer is primarily used to stream baseball games from MLB.TV to my television. With the old adapter, the stream often jerked and generally at least once during a game would freeze and need a restart. Unfortunately, the same was true with the Max-Stream. The stream was a little more consistent but the freezes still occurred. The signal strength was at the same level as the older adapter which was also a disappointment. However, the results were much more positive with the Lenovo laptop. This laptop sits in the corner of a bedroom about as far away from the wireless router as possible in an apartment I use in another town about 300 miles away from my home with the Acer. It uses its own internal wireless card to access the network and the signal is relatively weak. The worst part is it periodically drops for short spans which causes havoc when I'm using LogMeIn to access my other computers over those 300 miles. Generally the signal drops within 2-3 minutes of connecting. The Max-Stream changed all that. Upon installing it for the first time, I was able to use LogMeIn and remain connected to my remote computers for over an hour at which point I disconnected rather than having the connection drop on its own. The signal strength was also full strength which was also a nice plus. I will continue to use it at that location. Overall, it was a little hit or miss because I fully expect much better results with the desktop which was in a better location for signal improvement. But because it failed to show any notable improvement, I could't recommend the Max-Stream to all users. However, its ease of setup and the improvement in the other environment make me a believer of what it can do in the right situation. So I have mixed feelings but I'm really impressed by what it did for the Lenovo's performance. I would definitely recommend it for situations similar to the Lenovo's.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well I received this wireless usb adapter this week. I used this on a Windows 10 device. Simply put in the supplied CD and ran the install routine. Plugged into a USB 2.0 port and it was discovered immediately. It works well and connects immediately in both 2.4 and 5Ghz bands as advertised. Speed is better in 5Ghz band. Stays connected over the 2 days I have tried it. A couple of minor issues. One, after it was first installed, and the PC went into power save mode overnight, the adapter would not come back and was not recognized. I had to pull it out and reinstall it for it to be recognized. I later went into the Windows adapter setting and unchecked the option to let the device be powered off to save energy. This solved the problem and it now comes back as it should. I also tried to install this device on a Ubuntu Linux laptop. It would not work and was never recognized. Linksys does not advertise this as being supported but I just wanted to see. So, if your intent is to use this on Linux be forewarned. Other than that, this works well and would be an excellent upgrade for any PC lacking AC capabilities.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good in Mixed Mode GREAT in 5G I have owned this adapter for about 3 weeks. It loaded drivers directly from Windows update in Windows 7 Pro. I have done some comparisons with my older N300 adapter. My Old N300 would do 15-35 Mb/s all over the place. In Comparison The Linksys AC600 averaged 52Mb/s in N mode, and 250 Mb/s in 5 GHZ mode!!!!! It was much more consistent, with less spiking and variation. In both examples, my desktop PC was the only wireless client. I am very impressed with the throughput and consistency of this device.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Speedy adapter I have been using this adapter for more than a month and am very satisfied with its performance. My desktop computer is about 30 feet from the modem and the signal passes through three walls (our house is steel framed). The signal received is noticeably faster than before. The adapter size is small; less than half of the one I used previously. It is plugged into a USB 3 port.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Welcome Addition The Max Steam AC600 is a welcome addition to our home network powered by the Linksys WRT1900 ACS router. The router is located in the home’s lower level and the Dell 5720 laptop powered by an Intel i5 processor is located on the second level of our home. Our home is old with hardwood floors and plaster walls that weaken the Wi-Fi signal in specific areas of the house. The elements that make the AC600 such an outstanding device are increased network Wi-Fi signal strength, download/upload speed and network connection stability. Prior to installing the Max Stream AC600 in the Dell laptop the WI-Fi strength was averaging between fair and good. This led to weak connections, slow sign on and in some cases no connections. After installing the AC600 the Wi-Fi signal strength increased to excellent, with faster connections and ease of web browsing without losing a connection. The download speed increased 15% from 30.16 Mpbs to 34.68 Mpbs and the upload speed increased 15% from 20.87 Mpbs to 24.01 Mpbs. The most impressive aspect of the AC600 is network connection stability. When logging on websites in the past the site loaded slowly, the refreshing process would be extremely slow, freeze the computer and lead to disconnection. Browsing through sites and opening additional links would also lead to disconnections. After installing the AC600 the and opening the previous mentioned sites, the sites loaded fast, refreshed without a problem and the WI-Fi signal remained constant with five or more pages open. After testing the AC600 the laptop is connecting wirelessly faster, stronger and more stable connection. I would recommend the Max Stream AC600 to anyone who is interested in increasing their laptop browsing capability and getting more from their home network. It is a welcome addition to any wireless network.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My review of the WUSB6100M wifi adapter Upon receiving my adapter I first ran a speed test with my old setup, Then I disabled my internal Broadcom A/B/G/N wifi adapter with the device manager under windows 10. I put the adapter into an open usb slot and rebooted. the adapter was found but no driver, so I used the cd that came with the Linksys adapter and all went well. I only took about 5 minutes to set it all up. The speed test below shows my first test with my old adapter and the second test is with my new Linksys WUSB6100M adapter. My service from Time Warner is 30 Mb/s and I am now getting all that and then some. My router does not have MU-MIMO but does have ac. The first few times I ran speed test my results were not great, my router was set for A/N so I set it to A/C only and my speed increased a lot. Like with any router or an adapter you can’t just plug in in and expect good results instantly. Check different channels on your router for your best output, download free inSSider and check for the best channel with the least amount of interference. I am very happy with the results and I think you will be also. This Linksys adapter supports 2.4 and 5 GHz channels at speeds up to 600mps, this adapter has the new ac technology and is backward compatible to a/b/g/n, MU-MIMO is built in along with WPA2 security. Beam forming technology helps you obtain speeds that you never thought possible. I believe this will be the best money you ever spent for a slow and aging laptop. Baxter

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No More Buffering I received the WUSB6100M Max-Stream AC600 Wi-Fi Micro USB Adapter from Linksys to review. Out of the box is the adapter, instructions and installation CD. The adapter is compact and has a light indicator which I like. When plugged in, it did not initiate the install automatically on Windows 10 laptop. I used the CD and followed instruction and was a breeze to install. My laptop is relatively old and operates on 2.4 GHz frequency band. I noticed an immediate increase in download and upload speeds using the adapter. I have multiple units in my household including other laptops, printers, iPads, gaming equipment and surround sound system on my network. The network utilizes a Linksys WRT1900ACS router. The speed is amazing on all units. The addition of the Max-Stream AC600 USB adapter saved me from spending hundreds of dollars to upgrade my laptop. The adapter price is less than $60. An excellent deal to upgrade the speed on any laptop versus spending hundreds on new one. I'm planning to install a security system with wireless cameras in my house and have been doing a lot of research on that. Unfortunately, WRT1900ACS router does not have the MU-MIMO technology. I need to do more research or contact technical support to find out if upgrading to a newer Linksys router with MU-MIMO technology will work better/faster, with the AC600 adapter and the additional equipment I need to install, than the router I currently have. Linksys products provide the reliability and the speed I need for my network. HAPPY SURFING.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Problem solved The internal wifi card in my all-in-one (running Win 10) crapped out, replacement was not an option (read to costly). I had gotten a wifi dongle from Linksys for my old laptop (running Win XP) when it suffered a similar problem. So I returned to Linksys for a wifi dongle rated for Win 10. As far as I could tell, this is currently the only one that is. The dongle size is much smaller and is unobtrusive. It has a light to indicate if you have wifi connection or not and was super easy to install. If you are running Windows 10 and want to use wifi, this is the dongle for you. I have had no problems with reception, Up-load/Down-load speed or staying connected !

Make sure you make it your default wireless connection and it will go to it every time you start up your computer. I use Comcast Blast and am able with this Adapter to take advantage of the speed my Linksys Router 3200 can put out and it completely changed my older laptop wireless speed. It's amazing what this adapter can do for speeding up your laptop, instead of having to go out and purchase the latest and greatest laptop computer you need this inexpensive Adapter to make your network run at the faster speeds that are out there now. Thank Linksys for a great product.
