Great sound but...
I have owned these for 6 months. Replaced both low end speakers and now looking for 195h midrange driver as one of them has blown as well. I'm a pro sound guy who works with a touring 60's British Invasion band (so I'm not really hitting them very hard. When they work, they sound great...but mine have been problematically fragile.

So far, excellent sound quality !
Okay. so I had the PRX 735's and had issues with the housing rattling after 4 shows. After a few years with QSC153s which are tanks but too tall to stand up in my van, no longer having a trailor, I decided to go for the PRX 835. I do like their sound for live music { Rock Band} and their 90 degree coverage pattern. I could see they changed the back pannel even allowing some space for the fan which was a major culprit of the rattle issues. So far after 2 shows they are fantastic. One main reason for this review is to mention that I have purchased gear from a lot of the major brands, Yamaha Fender, Korg {stage piano}, QSC, EV etc and THE MOST responsive, friendly and professional team of techs are at JBL. Everette,Tony and Arturo have all taken my calls and are readily available to assist and answer any questions I have had, so if the cabinets are more durable than the 735s and I don't have issues like the other guy who reviewd these had, I am back with JBL for the unforeeable future. GREAT SERVICE YOU GUYS !
