The HP LaserJet® Pro MFP M227fdw monochrome printer can yield up to 30 ppm and allow your business to handle high-volume printing tasks. It has auto duplex printing for faster workflows when copying both sides of the paper. This HP multifunction printer can also scan, fax and copy documents. Prints come out at a high resolution of up to 1200 x 1200 DPI. The MFP business printer is easy to operate, thanks to its LCD color touchscreen display.

It would be nice if the envelope feeder would allow for more pages to be inserted. Customer service is wonderful in assisting with my questions.

My old printer stopped working, not compatible so I relied on HP to recommend a new printer. I was dismayed when it arrived, very big , clunky , heavy and beige. My fault for not asking questions of Sales. Also noisy. And I had problem with loose power cord connection tho seems ok now. I may return it except too heavy to lug . I should have gone to Staples!

I was printing, scanning, and FAXing within 30 minutes of removing from the box. Time will tell whether this printer will last long enough compared my first HP LaserWriter (an M2100 purchased 1999), to earn an excellent rating in the Performance catagory.

I can use the device for the basic functions of printing, scanning and copying at the computer, but have not been able to make other features work, including wireless printing from other devices in my home or remote printing when away from home. The instructions need to be improved.

As a CPA, I only print in B&W, so color printing and scanning issues are meaningless to me. This model does everything I need, and also does duplex printing. A great product at a great price.

The HP MFP M227fdw is a great little printer that is loaded with features. My wife and I both have iPads, therefore the "air print" feature is really a great feature for us. The printer is very easy to set up so you can get started printing really fast. Did I say fast? This thing prints really fast. No long waits to get your printed pages. I would buy it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeded Expectations I've searched for several years for a moderate cost, home use wireless mono-laser all-in-one that does jam-free duplex printing. A few were out there, but reviews ultimately gave caution to not jump on them, duplex features being problematic. This one came along, had enough of the right words in reviews, product summary, and specifications to give hope, so I bought one. It shipped immediately, had it in two days in Hawaii (at regular free shipping). I was concerned that there might be a wireless setup issue with a Mac, but was delighted to discover it took longer to get it out of the box and pull the blue tape than to connect wirelessly to my Mac and Apple mobile platforms and print/scan flawlessly...measured in short moments. As a disclaimer, I did not set up/do not use the facsimile function. Print quality is bright and crisp. Initially I was getting a small drum toner smudge on printed documents. Running a laser cleaning sheet through five times resolved that perfectly. Three weeks later I am very confident my choice in this product was correct. Every expectation was far exceeded.

Second, I am not so familiar with an online set up. Given this condition, I was afraid I might not be able to set up the printer online. I took the risk of doing it myself. The attempt paid off. IIt was a breeze . I was happy that I did it myself and I did not spend anything for the installation.

Everytime i want to print through wifi, i have to uninstall and reinstall the driver for the printer and thats on all of my PCs. I tried resting the printer, uninstalling HP "Smart" the drivers, it works one day and the next i have to do this processes all over again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid MFP at a good price. I was looking for a home office multi-function printer to replace our aging laserjet printer. Cost was a major factor after of course quality. The printer was easy to setup. My wife loves the ability to be able to printer from her smart phone wirelessly as she is a real-estate agent and needs to print out documents at a moment's notice. We have the printer setup on our home wireless network, but the printer can also be accessed via peer to peer wireless connection which is nice. We have a mixture of Windows and Mac based computers/devices which all use the printer. Note : I have been in the IT field for 19 years, and am currently employed at Hewlett Packard Enterprises.

I removed the packing tape, plugged it in, installed an Ethernet cable then walked over the my Windows 10 computer. By the time I got there (15 seconds) the printer, scan to computer, print to fax were already set up and ready to go. I printed from Word and scanned to computer using the LCD panel instantly. Total mouse clicks to install: zero. Abosuletly effortless!

Cannot multitask-- i.e. while fax is being received or sent cant be used as copier. Similarity if scanning is being done, cannot print. 2.Scanning/faxing of two sided docs needs two passes (one for each side). But if you don't need thee two features its a quality product at a very reasonable price.

It is without a doubt the easiest out of the box to set up and get running of any wireless printer I have owned. It automatically finds the router, you enter the password to the router and you are done. It is ready for use by your phone, tablet, laptop or desktop. Autoduplex printing, copy, scan are plus features. I also aquired the 3 year replacement warranty.

(I hate change) It would be really nice if you found a way to not continuously change GUI's. It is a hindrance to productivity to have to navigate through all the changes. Perhaps you could have two installations...."NEW FANCY WINDOWS AND CONTROLS" and "CLASSIC OLD FASHIONED LIKE YOU ARE USED TO SEEING" ....I do like it. You are not the only ones guilty of this. All in all HP produces a great product.

Working from home during the pandemic, I needed a printer/copier/scanner/fax at home that would be every bit as good as the work horses at my law office. However I did not want to spend a lot. This HP device works perfectly for my needs. The prints look clean and crisp. The copies come out reasonably quick. The scanner has dpi options, which I like. My only beef is I would like a bigger ADF. This ADF holds maybe 10-15 pages. But for the money, I am very pleased.

I love that you add pages to a scan for large pdf files as I have a lot of 45+ page files. The print speed is great. I highly recommend this machine for all of your home office needs!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Poor Scan Quality I have started a job where I work remotely and this is the printer/scanner my employer suggested. However, the scan quality is very poor. The default resolution is 150 dpi and the highest I can set it is 300 dpi. The specs say that it goes up to 1200 dpi, but I haven't figured out how to get that quality out of it. The result is all my scanned documents are a little blurry and they scan tilted, which means I have to manually adjust each page or provide sloppy scans to my employer and clients.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looooooooooong Overdue. This muti-trick monochome LaserJet replaced a 25-year-old LaserJet 4000 that WOULD. NOT. DIE. (That particular printer had replaced a 300ppi HP IIIP which was ALSO retired while still perfectly functional.) Finally we just had to weigh what a quality-of-life improvement a USB/network multitasker with wireless capability would be and took the plunge ... spending a fraction of what those earlier printers had cost. And of course it was a breeze to set up -- as it happens, I set most devices up online but, just to experiment, used the full CD procedure to set up on an older desktop. Interestingly, the apps installed were the ultimately same in function but slightly different in the two setups. But everything, and I cannot stress the importance of this enough, Just ... works. The print quality is beautiful, the duplex printing is fast and seamless and the copy quality is good enough to also retire a small C_n_n portable copier we had also relied on for years. Even the somewhat maligned scanner works well enough for forms and documents, and the interfaces, both the CD and online-installed versions, are really easy to work with. So I guess this is the trade-off I can live with -- yeah, it's the dystopian future already and I never got the jet-pack I was promised ... but laserprinters are SO much better and cheaper now. So that's something, right?

In hind sight I regret that I didn't mention that color prints are sometimes needed. This printer is monochrome.

I have not yet used the scan or fax features so cannot speak to those. I hope it will be reliable over time. This is my 3rd HP printer, and reliability over time has suffered in the more recent ones. Obviously, I still like HP printers but wish that they were still manufactured with the reliability and longevity of the first one, which is still performing admirably after many years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from confusing features Still haven't figured out how to scan multiple pages of a document. My old scanner gave me a choice of more pages this one has no such feature. Had I known it was this difficult I would have looked for another unit. Also can't find out how to keep the phone line plugged in without losing the same phone line for calling. My previous unit a 7600 had the phone line plugged in all the time and it would automatically let a fax go through without a problem. I still can't get the fax to work.

I needed it for my home office and I needed something quick that can get the job done. It prints, scans, faxes quickly. I set up the wifi bluetooth so I can print documents straight from my phone. I love that part.

This printer is a lot like my other one, so it's been easy to learn to use. I do like the touchscreen and the extra paper tray. I needed a printer with multi-function use of the scanner/copier features and the addition of wi-fi printing has been a nice addition as well. Overall, I have been very satisfied with my purchase and look forward to many more years of use from this printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crazy Fast; easy setup Easy to setup, so long as the CD is used and not the download version. On 1 computer the CD was used, everything worked like a champ. On another computer, chose the 'use downloaded version' and that's when trouble started. Scanning was not properly installed, not all options available. Required uninstall, reinstall from CD to get all software fully functional. When printing over 100 pages, part way through an error message pops up. Have not called tech support yet for diagnosis.

I would have recently bought the 428 except for incompatibility with Windows 7. The next best machine is the M227fdw. It performs admirably and has features that dazzle an old Laserjet III user like me. The name Hewlett-Packard is and always has been synonymous with quality.

It was well packed and took a few minutes to get it out the box and the wrapping off. Once it was un-packed and plugged in it was simple to do the wireless connection to the computer and smart phone . Thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleased with the performance. Ours is a small office. 10 to 15 copies per day. As we've only had this copier for a few weeks, it's too early to provide a comprehensive review. I can state that set-up and start-up went smoothly. To date, we are pleased with the performance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy with this printer right out of the box. From the moment I opened the box, and slid the printer out, it was evident that HP did this right! I had the printer up and running (with all features) right away. Easiest printer I have ever set up. Extremely glad I bought this printer, and I hope it lasts longer than the last HP Deskjet 8625 Pro, which only lasted 24 months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HP is great product I like the printer. The screen is small so dialing for Fax is hard. We’ve had the fax for about a week. It took quite some time to get the product. There are error messages displayed daily, the solution on the manual is to unplug and replug the unit. Not a great daily solution

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HP LaserJet Pro MFP M227fdw I love this machine!! It is easy to set up and prints really fast. The only thing I am going to need to call for help about is replacing the cartridge, I have never done that before. I fully recommend this product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not good for Apple Mac's Every HP printer I have owned before this printer worked perfectly out of the box with every Mac I have owned. This printer is undiscoverable by Mac Computers. The only solution is to install a bunch of bloat-ware from HP. I am very disappointed, this will be the last HP printer I buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seems to be a good printer overall This model M277fdw seems well made, easy wifi setup, however, beware that "duplex" just means 2 sided printing off of single sided/pass copying. Ugh! if you have say like us several pages of legal doc...have to take an image from each back side and copy and then reassemble to go from all 1 sided to then 2 sided PRINTING (only). Not good...takes forever. but except for that...okay.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I've purchases 45 units since April 2017 and haven't have any issues We use this printer as a standard for all our home office reps, I hope there is no plan to retire this unit anytime soon. It's definitely compatible for our work environment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice MFP, but.. Fine little copier/printer with an adequate, no-frills scanner. To be honest, I still haven't set up the the control panel. Started to, but the the directions were a bit convoluted and lacking the time to fuss with, I've been running the scanner functions through pre-owned Paperport software. Perhaps this is a reason the scanner has slow "thinking time" before and during scans? But my biggest beef is learning this model is NOT Twain compliant, despite repeatedly asking and being assured that it is. Two different chatting sales-women (one simply sales-pushy, but the second one seemed knowledgeable) assured me that my need for Twain scanning would be met with this model. Very unhappy about this

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, an awesome MFP! We bought this to replace an aging HP LaserJet 1020 and a terrible HP OfficeJet Pro 8500A. This printer far outperforms both of them despite costing less than they cost new. The printer and scanner of this MFP appear to be best in class. The printing is fast and crisp. The scanning is not only crisp but also perfectly square! No more crooked scans! The full duplex is awesome and was a core requirement. We wish we could have stepped up to color but I was worried about the reviews which didn’t sound so favorable. We also didn’t want to go to $1,000 just for color. We can always print to a local FedEx Office if we need fancy printouts. I just hope this awesome performance continues for years to come.

They shipped this item immediately but said due to Covid the computer wouldn’t be shipped until 10-6. Then on 10-7 the sent an email saying due to Covid the computer won’t ship until 10-21. So nearly 4 weeks with useless item since they can’t keeps their word and build a computer in 4 weeks and ship when I see the same thing sitting in the shelf at my local store. Purchased because of holiday sale from their website.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Never Connects & Touchscreen Malfunction We bought this product 2 years ago. It has given us issues since day 1. The printer is never detectable through WiFi. This is true when we try to print from any device, phone, or laptop. It doesn’t connect through a network either. Now it won’t even work. The printer is on, the display screen is illuminated, but blank. No copy, scan, fax, or print options shown. HP customer support said it’s done for and would I like to buy a replacement model? Um, no thanks! Tried everything to get it to work again. I thought this product would last longer than 2 years. I just spent a fortune on toner too & my kids just started virtual schooling. So irritated!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great multi function printer value MFPM277 HP printer is a great value printer. Set-up was easy and works wirelessly with my laptop as well. The wireless function is not always recognized immediately and can take several tries. The hard wired connection to the desktop is faultless. First page out is very quick. Print quality is excellent. Scanner and copier works well. Only complaint is that the secondary paper tray is not real convenient to access ( we use this tray to print checks, deposit slips etc. ). The secondary tray on the MFP477 is much easier to access. Overall, a great printer at a good price.
