Rated 5 out of 5 by from Uhhh is there a toner leaking problem Our printer also has leaky cartridges, which kind of ruins the whole function of the printer if everything I print is blue. It's also more than mildly annoying to clean the inside of a printer. Our printer toner leaks look just like the already posted pictures.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great right out of the box! Purchased one of these for my assistant about a year ago. Easy set up right out of the box. Recently it became my turn to upgrade and this was a natural choice. Again, easy set up. The toughest things are getting the HP M553dn out of the box and finding the right cable for hookup. Prints fast and the color is acceptable. Duplex? No problem! No complaints, no worries here! Thanks for another great product HP!

Now two of the toner cartridges leaked and made a mess. We really were excited about the printer at first as it is great for fast and quite printing, but we've had issue after issue in the last 6+ months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Piece of junk! I bought this HP because my previous printer was so amazing, but omg have I been disappointed with this one! It's not a cheap printer and the cartridges cost a FORTUNE ($1000+ for the full set), and they go fast because every time you switch from b&w to color (or vice versa), the first 2-10 sheets print with a black line across. It also doesn't handle a little thicker (=nicer) paper well...same issue, which has been going on since the beginning. Hindsight, I should've returned immediately, but life is busy and so it goes. Don't waste your money - worst printer I've ever had. Really wish I could get my money back!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HP has done it again with Color LJ Ent M553 I wish I would’ve bought this printer six months ago. The quality and fast printing is print shop quality. It’s a workhorse and would highly recommend this printer. I will say that the instructions as far as making it a wireless remote printer were confusing. In short, take a cat-5 cable run it from your printer to your modem and you’ll be up and running.

All the three colour catridges leaked heavily. The first leakage within six months of delivery and recently the 2nd and 3rd leakages. Therefore, overall rating is fair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Printing Statement Cards This printer was purchased while I was on Vacation due to lighting striking my old printer. I mail monthly statements out every month. My old printer it might take 45 minutes. I have now been printing statements on this M553 for 3HOURS AND 15MINUTES!!! I SHOULD HAVE BEEN OUT OF THE OFFICE AN HOUR AND 15 MINUTES AGO. It is the worse thing ever for printing statement cards.

The only thing that I am not pleased with is that some of the documentation that came in the box was only in Spanish with no English version. I called HP to see if I could get English versions but was told that there were none.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Printer destroyed itsefl The printer destroyed the plastic belt that feeds paper over the toner rollers after only two years. The part costs nearly $450 to replace, nearly the price of a new printer. Total loss. Print quality issues also with black streaks appearing across each page periodically.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Toner leaks everywhere I've only had the unit for less than 4 months and we use HP toner and paper. The problem firsts appeared when we were getting streaks of color on our prints. If you print about 2,500 copies per month, you'll start noticing the issues a lot quicker. The cartridges start to leak toner and the entire unit has to be cleaned. If it's not yellow one day, it's blue another day. It's very frustrating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nothing but problems I've had this printer at work for almost 2 months, and it has been nothing but a headache. We've spent 20+ hours trying to get it to reliably connect to my computer, and 3 other computers in the office, without having to constantly reboot, sometimes up to 4 or 5 times a day. After multiple calls with HP tech support, a change out of the main board (performed by HP), and updating the firmware, it FINALLY seems to be connecting every time... or at least it has for the last 2 days straight, fingers crossed. It still doesn't behave as expected when printing; for example we cannot consistently get it to print from tray 2 without explicitly going into the printer settings for every print job. I want to love this printer... it produces beautiful printouts, is fast and quiet, the duplex feature is great... but with all the headaches, the best I can get to is a commitment that I won't throw it out of our 3rd floor window. This technological marvel has nothing on that reliable workhorse, the LaserJet 4.

Now one of them has intermittent networking errors and leaks toner everywhere from time to time. Very glad I purchased the extended warranty. I wouldn't buy another one, but not a terrible printer per se.

We can clean it over and over, but who wants to keep doing that? Just another bad printer. We thought an Enterprise edition would be better quality, but it's not.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast. Print quality seems good. Good printer so far. Does work on local network (when local network works). (Not an HP network.) I like the large input tray. Cannot say about toner usage as I haven't printed that much. The only problem was that this printer wouldn't print in the desk printer-kneehole that my old one did. The power cord is on the side which makes the effective width somewhat larger. This is a minor problem though.

If you chose the wrong security settings there was no warning hair print versus a secure print finally resolve the problem I go out on Google and got the answer there. I own the M551 printer and use it to print out the same results same color product on both printers and the colors are not consistent at all colors that I’ve been using for years

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great printer but... I just purchased this printer and it does a great job of working as a network printer for our home office. We use Mac's and I was surprised how difficult it was to setup the printer on our network. Mac OS wanted to use a default driver that would not allow you to print. Had to download the software/driver from HP but all of the weblink provided in instructions were not valid sites. After about an hour, I was able to finally load the correct software and drivers. Even after having the correct software, the printer itself wants to constantly print to tray 1... which is, ironically, the manual feed tray that you open up on the side of the machine... Tray 2 is actually the pull out tray that will hold 500+ pages of paper. Not sure why hp decided to make Tray 1 the default tray, but you cannot change this with the configuration of the machine... even the "Enterprise" model. You can only setup your print settings on individual machines to have it default to print to tray 2. Even if Tray 1 is closed, the printer does not seem to know/recognize that. I provided 4 stars because there is a work around and the printer works great... but set up was a real hassle and the inability to default to the tray with the most paper makes no sense to me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Read The Fine Print! This printer is not only EXPENSIVE and DOES NOT do anything other than print, it REQUIRES an additional accessory in order to work with the wifi. I can't even get this monstrosity to work now without the additional purchase. When I tried to return this printer not only was I DENIED, I was told I would be charged a 15% restocking fee. Horrible experieince. RUN...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not a True Enterprise Printer This model's configuration will only use the bottom drawer as the default tray. We added an HP tray to the bottom for legal size (which the included tray 2 cannot accommodate), so there's no way for apps that don't provide the opportunity to choose a destination tray to print on letter size paper. We have had many HP enterprise printers over the years; this is the only one that has not been fully configurable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Complete lemon & difficult to get warranty support Printer worked 2 1/2 months before stopped printing magenta. Bought new magenta cartridge and still no magenta. Tried multiple times to get support though HP (note: sold with "next business day service warranty". Finally, they told me they wouldn't warranty supplies, but it definately was a bad toner, to order another one. Ordered another toner (now have tried 3) and still no magenta. Then they insisted that one of the other colors must be bad and made me order all new toners for it. Then the new genuine HP yellow started dumping toner out everywhere, and still no magenta! Took 3 weeks of live chat, emails, phone calls and CDW rep to finally get them to send an HP technician out. The tech has now made 4 on-site visits, replaced at least 6 different parts and still has not fixed issue. The tech says he won't be back, and good luck dealing with HP. Can not recommend to anyone to buy, the "next business-day" part of warranty is a joke, and I have no faith I'll ever get a working repair/replacement at this point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good printer This printer, at the discounted price of $600, is an excellent value! Easy to set up and use, and the quality of the print is great. I like the fact that it can handle my card stock, which many printers can't handle properly. I like the large paper tray and the fact that the manual tray can handle multiple sheets, as well - not just one sheet at a time. The only drawbacks I've come across are that the duplexing (two-sided printing) feature won't work properly (the second side comes out upside down) - and nothing seems to correct that. And the manual paper tray on the side interferes a bit with the items on my desk, so I had to rearrange. But overall a very good printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely output, won't work with MacOS Mojave Installed on ethernet, added it my MacBook, tried to print, waited and waited and waited. After more than 5 minutes, printer started working. Output was very nice! Print job completed, but MacBook print queue said "Waiting for job to complete" for another 5 minutes. Tried to print another document, MacBook said "Printer not connected." Check my router's configuration page and sure enough, the printer had disappeared. Unplugged ethernet, plugged back in. Printed another document, some 5+ minute delay before pages started coming out, same "Waiting for job to complete" message, and the printer was offline again. Tried to find a solution with tech support, but no dice. Returned it this morning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick and Clean Print I love the speed and the quality of print. Only one minor thing that bugs me and can't figure out how to change, but may not be possible. Items print in reverse. When using tray 1 items have to be put in again in reverse. Can't tell you how many checks I have wasted. Just have to get used to it. Haven't figured out yet how to stop a print or to use the buttons on top. All in all I love it just have to learn a different way of printing. I would purchase it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this printer We bought this a month ago and love this printer. Our small office prints around 120,000 pages a month. No issues at all so far. Prints quietly and quickly. We didn't need a color printer but we were able to get this at the same price as a monochrome and I'm so glad we did. When we do use color, the pictures are sharp and crisp. Would highly recommend.

The unit is rated for the same speed and quality yet the duplex print is obviously faster. I believe I made the right choice to upgrade.
