Fortinet FortiMail 400F - Enterprise ATP Bundle - security appliance - with is rated 4.30 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Has a high level of security and integrates well with other security products What is most valuable? The solution is easy to use and easy to configure. It has a very high level of security through special licensing with solutions like FortiGuard, sandboxing solutions in the cloud, and URL rewriting solutions. They are very helpful and secure. We can install FortiMail products in two different types of installations. One is the security gateway, the inner gateway, and the other is the enterprise mail server. But we never used this product as an enterprise mail server, only a security gateway. What needs improvement? The logging information is sometimes not clear or easy to understand. When the product drops or rejects an email, it is hard to understand what was the original reason why this email was blocked. The logging and the troubleshooting have to improve. The Forti solutions are not easy to use. We can learn how to use them, but they are not easy. Suppose you must deal with different types of Fortinet products, such as FortiMail, FortiGate, and FortiAuthenticator. In that case, you have to use many different types of troubleshooting, such as through CLI commands and parameters, and it's not too easy to know those off the top of your head. For how long have I used the solution? I've worked with Fortinet FortiMail for four or five years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? I rate FortiMail's stability a ten out of ten. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? I rate FortiMail's scalability a nine out of ten. My clients are typically medium to enterprise-sized businesses. Enterprise and medium businesses are not the same from a Fortinet point of view. Especially here in Hungary, which is a little country. When we consider a company enterprise-sized, it might be considered a medium-sized company in the international environment. How are customer service and support? I like Fortinet's technical support. But it could always be better. How would you rate customer service and support? Positive How was the initial setup? I rate the initial setup a nine out of ten. If there is only one gateway in the environment and it's the first deployment, it's easy. However, the initial setup can be difficult if you have to integrate and migrate from different products or solutions. It took about a week to deploy the solution. But it depends on the difficulty of the environment. Sometimes, we must migrate policies, rules, and other configuration parts from different old mail gateways, such as Symantec Brightmail. And it's not too easy to configure all of the parameters exactly in the new environment. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? FortiMail is not cheap. The basic license is not bad, but the high level of solutions is not cheap. Our customers like the basic license but find it too expensive to buy detailed technical solutions. What other advice do I have? I rate Fortinet FortiMail a nine out of ten. Disclaimer: My company has a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer:Integrator

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Provides virus outbreak prevention and FortiSandbox integration What is our primary use case? I have one deployment, which is a service provider, so it's working in a multi-tenancy environment. At least ten customers are being handled by this multi-tenant Fortinet FortiMail. We use Fortinet FortiMail mainly for incoming messages and also as a server. How has it helped my organization? In the first presentation we did, we were able to demonstrate to our client that 98.2% of the emails they received were spam emails. Furthermore, out of the spam emails, around 2,000 messages were found to contain viruses. Fortinet FortiMail was able to block these 2,000 virus-infected messages that would have otherwise gone unnoticed. Since we use Fortinet FortiMail as a multi-tenant environment in our cloud, we also save our customers' bandwidth as the spam emails are not downloaded. What is most valuable? The most valuable features of Fortinet FortiMail are its virus outbreak prevention and FortiSandbox integration. What needs improvement? Fortinet FortiMail should allow more flexibility with the content rules. FortiMail does not allow users to use the content itself as a matching policy attribute. This limits the flexibility of policy configuration, and we have to adapt by using specific sources to apply specific content filtering. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using Fortinet FortiMail for the past seven to eight years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? I rate Fortinet FortiMail a nine out of ten for stability. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? I rate Fortinet FortiMail an eight out of ten for scalability. We are expanding our customer base with Fortinet FortiMail because security is now perceived as an investment in Brazil. How was the initial setup? Fortinet FortiMail's deployment is straightforward. It's not like plug-and-play, but if you use the default configuration, you can enable very strict security without digging into the configurations. What was our ROI? Since we started offering the anti-spam with FortiMail as a service, we have moved from OpEx to CapEx. What other advice do I have? I am using the latest version of Fortinet FortiMail. Users need to understand the SMTP standards to configure Fortinet FortiMail properly. If you make mistakes in the configuration, you may allow users on the internet to use your email as an MTA. This was the mistake committed by one of our customers who tried to deploy the solution himself without proper knowledge. You must have some knowledge about the solution so you can internally configure it. Overall, I rate Fortinet FortiMail an eight out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? Rated 5 out of 5 by from A stable and scalable solution with good tech support What needs improvement? The tool needs to improve its pricing policy. Also, it needs to be more user-friendly. I would want it to improve email security as well. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using the solution for two years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? I would rate the tool's stability a nine out of ten. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? I would rate the solution's scalability an eight out of ten. How are customer service and support? The support takes one to two days to respond. How would you rate customer service and support? Positive How was the initial setup? The tool's distributor supported us with the deployment. The solution's deployment took around one day to complete. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? You need to pay additional fees for premium support. What other advice do I have? I would rate the tool a nine out of ten. This solution is good for small and medium enterprise companies. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? On-premises Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A reasonably priced solution suitable for small to medium enterprises What is our primary use case? Fortinet FortiMail is sufficient for our use cases. What is most valuable? The user quarantine feature in the solution is good. Not all the solutions have user quarantine features since they mostly have system quarantine features. The integration with Active Directory is great. The solution's antispam is really very efficient, especially the greylisting. Recently, the protection against impersonation is doing a great job. What needs improvement? The solution lacks to provide more visibility when there is a problem, and it needs to be tracked. The solution should provide users with more visibility so that they can track a problem. For how long have I used the solution? It has been only a very short time since I started using Fortinet FortiMail. I use it for my company and for our customers. My company has a partnership with Fortinet. What do I think about the stability of the solution? It is a stable solution. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? Regarding scalability, we did not receive any case where we had to expand. I recommend the solution to businesses that range from small to medium, including those who do not have a very large environment. It is possible to scale it more since we have one enterprise where it is deployed at a large scale. How are customer service and support? Fortinet's technical support is great. Usually, we do the first level of support. And when there is a really difficult problem, we raise tickets, and they are very good at handling such problems. I rate the technical support a nine out of ten. How would you rate customer service and support? Positive How was the initial setup? It is easy to deploy. Regarding the time taken for deployment, If it is in gateway mode, then it will not take more than two to three hours. If such necessities are not there in place, it will take more time. What about the implementation team? We do the implementation. Also, we provide professional services since we sell the product with professional services. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The pricing is reasonable, and this is why small to medium enterprises are adopting it. Price-wise, the solution is not far from Microsoft ATP. So, it is affordable. Which other solutions did I evaluate? What other advice do I have? In fact, some vendors tried to work with us, but we found Fortinet to be very good. Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Has good stability, but its scanning features need improvement for authentic emails What is our primary use case? We use the solution to scan the email for phishing or spam. We filter those emails, send them to the server and then deliver them to the end users. What is most valuable? The solution has all the essential email scanning features, including bulk scanning, fraud detection, etc. What needs improvement? Sometimes, authentic emails get blocked by the solution's firewall. In this case, our network team has to keep tuning the device from time to time. For how long have I used the solution? We have been using the solution for the last five years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? It is a stable solution. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? It is a scalable solution. We have 3000 solution users in our organization. How are customer service and support? The solution's technical support is good. How would you rate customer service and support? Positive How was the initial setup? The solution's initial setup process is easy. In case of any difficulties, we contact the vendor's support team. The process involves configuring the policies of the device as part of the information security. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The solution is reasonably priced compared to Cisco. What other advice do I have? It is an old and excellent product. You can use it on your organization's core system. I rate it a seven out of ten. Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Prevents, detects, and responds to email-based threats What is our primary use case? We use Fortinet FortiMail to protect our corporate maintenance. It is a very good solution. What is most valuable? It is one of the most efficient solutions in our environment. We have more than nine hundred users. All of these users are protected by Fortinet FortiMail. What needs improvement? It would be helpful if Fortinet FortiMail could monitor from a smartphone. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using Fortinet FortiMail since 2019. What do I think about the stability of the solution? There is no downtime and I believe it is stable. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? It is scalable. We are planning to upgrade it in the coming stages. How are customer service and support? Every six months, without any charge, they conduct a thorough examination for us. This includes checking if the configuration aligns with our requirements. They provide recommendations for corrections, particularly in cases where potential vulnerabilities or backdoors are identified. Their proactive approach contributes to the security of our environment. The assistance they provide every six months is prompt, cooperative, and delivered in a friendly manner. How would you rate customer service and support? Positive Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? We previously used Microsoft ISA for our security needs, but we encountered challenges with the packages provided by Microsoft, prompting us to explore alternative solutions. After conducting assessments and evaluations, Fortinet FortiGate emerged as the most efficient and effective option from a security perspective. Its ease of deployment, straightforward monitoring tools, and user-friendly interface distinguish it, providing a seamless experience in contrast to other solutions like Check Point, which were deemed complex and challenging by clients in their reviews. Fortinet's simplicity, ease of understanding, and the ability to generate reports effortlessly, including automatic report configurations without reliance on emails, led us to select Fortinet as the preferred solution for our security requirements. How was the initial setup? It is pretty simple and straightforward. It doesn't take a long time. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The pricing is reasonable. What other advice do I have? I would rate it 10 out of 10. Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reasonable pricing and good spam filtering but does not offer robust gatekeeping What is our primary use case? The solution is primarily for mail security. We use it primarily for incoming and outgoing emails. We also use other products which are quite new for us. We just invested in GFI, and we use it also for the incoming email traffic to check with more antivirus monitoring. What is most valuable? The spam filtering is great. The key functionality is email filtering. The antivirus and most of the filtering functionality are quite useful. We use it daily. It offers reasonable pricing. The solution is stable. What needs improvement? It could be better. We know better solutions, like Clearswift. The Ui isn't that intuitive. When 100 emails are coming in to one recipient, FortiMail only blocks from the 50th of the emails. Until that point, it doesn't see there's a problem. They aren't doing very good gatekeeping. For how long have I used the solution? I've been using the solution for more than six years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The performance is quite good. It's reliable and stable. I'd rate the solution seven out of ten. While there are some bugs occasionally, they are usually resolved within a week. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? It's mainly suited for mid-size companies, not for bigger companies like us. We are more than 1,000 people. In fact, we're over 2000 users, so that's why we investigated some other products, and Clearswift, for example. We likely won't increase usage. We're looking at GFI in a year or so. How are customer service and support? We have had to contact technical support. They have been helpful and responsive. How would you rate customer service and support? Positive Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? I have previously worked with Clearswift and Minesweeper. I prefer Clearswift. It was handier and easier to use, and we could trust their work. We could trust their decisions on any email. How was the initial setup? We only need five admins to manage the solution. The solution was installed before I started at the company. That said, my understanding is the setup process is very easy. What about the implementation team? We had the assistance of a reseller during implementation. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? FortiMail is good for the Hungarian market since it's cheap and we can use it and it works well enough. The pricing is reasonable. There are no extra costs on top of the standard licensing. Which other solutions did I evaluate? We're looking into other products, such as Clearswift. What other advice do I have? I'm a customer and end-user. When you are not a financial institution, and you are under 500 users, you should try FortiMail. However, when you are either a financial institution, and you are attacked many times, or you are more than 500 employees, then it is a good idea to try a different product. I'd rate the product six out of ten. The UI could be better, as could the scalability. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? On-premises Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A stable tool to prevent phishing attacks What is our primary use case? My company provides the tool to our clients or customers who want to control phishing and need a tool that offers DLP functionalities. What is most valuable? The most valuable feature of the solution is the tool's ability to prevent phishing attacks. What needs improvement? I haven't worked with Fortinet FortiMail competitors, but I feel whatever it does covers everything that is needed. I probably haven't had the chance to look at the products offered by Fortinet FortiMail's competitors. The tool fulfills the requirements of the client. Fortinet FortiMail has certain shortcomings but can do well if it integrates with sandboxing features. The integration of tools with sandboxing features is something Fortinet can work on because it can change the way the product detects malicious activities. The sandboxing features are not well done in Fortinet FortiMail, making it an area of improvement. For how long have I used the solution? I have experience with Fortinet FortiMail. What do I think about the stability of the solution? It is a stable solution. There is no requirement for users to have real-time access when using the tool. The product does a good job in the way the messages are delivered, and in the way, the emails are scanned. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? It is a scalable solution. My company caters to the needs of three or four customers of the solution. My company's clients are mostly medium-sized enterprises. How are customer service and support? Fortinet FortiMail office provides good support to users. Within the region where I operate, the support offered by Fortinet is good, especially considering the taken by the technical team to resolve issues. The longest time taken by the support team to resolve an issue is a day, and it is mostly because the support depends on the time you raise a ticket with the technical team, or it may be based on the support contract that a user has opted for in the company. Support also depends on the contract a user has chosen, which may include support for twenty-four hours and seven days a week in a year or eight to five support. I rate the technical support a seven out of ten. How would you rate customer service and support? Neutral Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? In the past, I haven't worked with any commercial tools similar to Fortinet FortiMail, but I know a few online tools that can be integrated into our company's systems. I chose to work with Fortinet FortiMail since it was strongly recommended by someone who had been using it. How was the initial setup? With the right guidance, the product's initial setup phase is not that complicated. Fortinet FortiMail provides good documentation and a support team to help users. The solution is deployed with the help of Open Virtual Appliance (OVA). The time taken to deploy the solution depends on the organization, but generally, the deployment process takes around seven days to complete in SMEs. What was our ROI? The product has an immediate impact on its users after deployment because it lets them know how the attacks are being blocked, and it provides a good analysis of why a certain email or activity has been flagged. There is good feedback related to the product from users. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? It is a fairly priced product, considering what it does. The product offers good value for the money users spend on it. Which other solutions did I evaluate? There are no tools similar to Fortinet FortiMail that are available because each product has its own way of functioning. Similar products will have many features that may be similar, so duplication of services is something a company wants to avoid. It is probably the better choice to select a product that is the easiest to use and offers a good support team. What other advice do I have? I rate the overall product an eight out of ten. Disclaimer: My company has a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer:partner

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great anti-spam and blocking capabilities with an initial easy setup What is our primary use case? I primarily just use the product as an email gateway for our email server. How has it helped my organization? Before I used the solution, I got a lot of spam emails. What is most valuable? The anti-spam and the IPS to help block items and attachments that come with the email are both quite helpful. It can block a lot of fake emails. The initial setup is easy. I have found the product to be stable. The solution can scale. What needs improvement? So far I don't need any improvements right now. I'm quite happy with the product as-is. At some point, FortiMail and Fortigate should merge together in one box. If they did that, it would be really helpful for the user. For how long have I used the solution? I've been using the solution for one year. What do I think about the stability of the solution? It is, overall, a stable solution. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. It is reliable and the performance is good. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? Currently, I'm using it for around 600 to 700 email users. It still performs quite well for me. There is no delay to speak of. How are customer service and support? I've never used technical support and have never reached out to them in the past. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? I'm also familiar with Cisco. This product is easier to set up than Cisco. How was the initial setup? We found the initial setup process to be very simple. It's not difficult. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The pricing is very reasonable. It's not overly expensive. We pay a yearly licensing fee. Which other solutions did I evaluate? I compared quite a few options with Cisco. In the end, this was the cost-effective option and the features are excellent. What other advice do I have? We're just customers and end-users. The version we are using is the newest one, as I already updated the OS and I just bought it last year. For those considering the solution, they better have a very clear idea about how they will place the FortiMail in their network. For example, either as the email server itself or as the email gateway. If you decided correctly in the first place, then you can configure it easily. FortiMail has a low cost and high support. Support is very helpful, however, so far, I don't need to use them at all. At the very least, I have someone that I can call and ask questions in Thai. This is not the case, for example, with Cisco. I'd rate the solution an eight out of ten. I'll rate it higher when it can be easier to configure or connect to the cloud to report on the attachments. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? On-premises Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Effective email security and user-friendly GUI interface What is our primary use case? We have an on-premises email server. Before FortiMail, we received a lot of spam and malicious emails, causing inconvenience for our users. After implementing FortiMail, it significantly reduced and improved our security. How has it helped my organization? Previously, when users received malicious emails, they would engage the IT department and ask for details about the emails they received. It consumed time and resources for IT management. With the implementation of FortiMail, these types of queries have been greatly reduced. With the implementation of FortiMail, our spamming was reduced, and junk mail was minimized. What is most valuable? The key features that I find valuable are the ones related to securing our email server. After implementing FortiMail, the spam, and malicious emails we receive have significantly reduced, making it much simpler to manage. So it has made email server management much simpler. FortiMail offers a user-friendly GUI interface, which makes it easy for administrators to browse and use. The interface is designed well, and it simplifies the administration. What needs improvement? I believe there is room for enhancement in the content security and web security features. These two aspects can be further developed to improve the overall scalability of the solution. For how long have I used the solution? We have been using this solution for one year. One year ago, we implemented it. It's the FortiMail version, not the cloud version. It's an on-premises, hardware-based appliance. What do I think about the stability of the solution? With one and a half years of experience implementing it, I can say it's not unstable. I think it's up to the mark, so we rate it at nine, indicating high stability. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? I would rate the scalability at seven. While FortiMail offers good security, there are areas where improvements can be made, particularly in content security and web security features. I believe there is room for enhancement in the content security and web security features. These two aspects can be further developed to improve the overall scalability of the solution. We have more than 400 email users utilizing Fortinet FortiMail. FortiMail handles email monitoring around the clock. It's a big version 24, and it's used over email traffic. We always monitor FortiMail over emails 24/7. All our emails go through FortiMail. We are using it with 400 email boxes. In the future, we may increase it by 50 more users, and FortiMail is compatible with that. It meets our requirements, and there's no need to increase anything. How are customer service and support? Over the past year and a half, we encountered an issue with our website. There was a malicious script on our website that disrupted our email service. FortiMail scans our emails, but due to the malicious script on our website and the same domain, we were unable to receive emails on Gmail. The reason behind the email blocking was Fortinet FortiMail, which detected the malicious script on our website. We reported the issue to Fortinet, and Fortinet resolved it within an hour. Fortinet's support was excellent, and we would rate it nine out of ten. It was a pretty good support. How would you rate customer service and support? Positive How was the initial setup? It's not very difficult. It's quite easy with GUI. Within a short span of time, you can easily configure the firewall and FortiMail and integrate them. It's not a big deal. I would rate it as eight. We received it in December, and within one month, we tested it. After some time, we went live with Fortinet, which took around seven days. So, the deployment process took about five to six weeks. What about the implementation team? We implemented it with the support of our distributor. Two technical persons were involved in the deployment process. We deployed the solution with our network administrator with the coordination of our distributor and technical team. They handled the deployment within four to six weeks. The solution does require maintenance. Routine maintenance is necessary to implement and tighten security policies, especially for handling malicious emails and bypasses in the email solution. You need to stay vigilant and conduct regular searches to identify and respond to potential threats even after implementing FortiMail. Monitoring and maintenance are ongoing processes. Generally, only one person is needed to handle maintenance tasks. This individual should possess the necessary skills to manage the email server, FortiMail gateway, and firewall. Additionally, they may be responsible for network maintenance as well. In our case, the person responsible for maintenance is our network administrator. They work in coordination with our distributor and technical team to ensure the smooth operation of FortiMail. This person oversees various aspects of network maintenance. What was our ROI? There is definitely an ROI. If we calculate the return on investment and consider the time and effort saved from dealing with spam and email glitches, we feel more comfortable and receive safer emails. Overall, it has been a positive experience. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The solution is quite pricey compared to other competitors in the market. Due to Fortinet's reliability and quality service, Fortinet offers a high cost. We rate it around seven. So, it's pretty pricey. ur licensing costs for FortiMail are quite high, especially with the currency exchange rates in Pakistan. The costs keep increasing day by day, and we are concerned about it. There are no additional costs. We only pay for the maintenance. What other advice do I have? FortiMail is already working on enhancing its next-generation terminology, and there is always room for improvement in various aspects. Fortinet continuously strives to improve its solutions. I believe they are on the right track with the GUI interface. Overall, I think they are doing a good job. We also prioritize securing our email server against future threats, as I mentioned earlier, by proactively safeguarding it from any potential security vulnerabilities or malicious activities. Fortinet FortiMail has adopted a GUI interface and made improvements in several areas. I think they will continue to provide routine updates and enhance the email server security further. We have integrated FortiMail with our firewall, which is also from Fortinet, and we didn't face any issues during the integration process. I believe Fortinet is leading the industry by following international standards and incorporating the necessary features to secure users from future threats. They should continue adding more security features where needed. Overall, I would rate the solution an eight out of ten. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use with good pricing and security What is our primary use case? The product is the main gateway to protect us from spam and/or malicious mail activities. What is most valuable? It is a great product. The product is easy to use. Its performance is very good and it is stable. We've found the product offers fair, reasonable pricing. The security is quite good overall. What needs improvement? It could continue to improve the user experience. It is not easy to install. For how long have I used the solution? In terms of FortiMail, we have been using it for about five years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? We have found the solution to be very stable. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. It is reliable. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? We have about 1,000 users on the solution currently. I'm not sure if we plan to increase usage. I don't have visibility on those types of decisions. How are customer service and support? Technical support is good. We depend on them a lot and contact them often. We contact them approximately once a month. How was the initial setup? The initial setup is not easy to handle on your own. I, for example, required the assistance of a vendor. The initial deployment took about 14 working days, about half a month or so. We have two technical people, engineers, that can manage the product. What about the implementation team? I needed help from the vendor. I did not implement the solution myself. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The pricing is very good. It's not overly expensive. We pay a yearly licensing fee. What other advice do I have? We are using the latest version of the solution. I would rate the solution ten out of ten. We've had a good experience with the product. I'd recommend the solution to other users and organizations. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? On-premises Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Is stable both on-premises and on the cloud What is most valuable? It actually filters the compromised emails when on a network layer itself. What needs improvement? The UI could be better. What do I think about the stability of the solution? It's quite stable. Both the on-premises and cloud deployments are quite stable. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? It's scalable. How are customer service and support? The technical support is excellent. How was the initial setup? The initial setup is pretty straightforward. What other advice do I have? The Fortinet line of products concentrates more on the security of these solutions. That is where we see the competitive advantage over other service providers. I would definitely recommend Fortinet FortiMail and rate it at nine on a scale from one to ten. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good GUI and configuring security policies is easy but the pricing needs improvement What is our primary use case? We use the solution as a security tool for anti-spam, phishing, et cetera. How has it helped my organization? The product has been beneficial in the sense that a lot of spam has been reduced. We've avoided a lot of phishing attacks. Threats have been reduced dramatically. What is most valuable? The GUI interface is great. The way we can configure security policies is very easy. We found the initial setup to be mostly straightforward. What needs improvement? The pricing is not ideal. It needs to be improved. They should add a lot of threat-intelligence feeds from different sources - not only from one source (FortiGuard). They should look at other threat-intelligence feed providers to include in the database so you have multiple databases checking for malicious attacks. Right now, there's only one, which is FortiGuard. The more threat intelligence feeds, the better since everybody has a different way of finding threats. For how long have I used the solution? I've been using the solution for five years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The solution is stable. I'd rate it seven out of ten. There are no bugs or glitches and it doesn't crash or freeze. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? The scalability is okay. I'd rate it seven out of ten. We have 800 users on the solution right now. It's used by everybody. The appliance can take up to 2,000 users and therefore we have plenty of room. We do not plan to increase usage. How are customer service and support? Support is very bad. Their response time is very slow. Once the ticket is raised, it will take at least around eight to ten hours for an engineer to respond. They will say if it is a system malfunction issue and its criteria or its risk level is high then you have to give them a call. When you call them, it's very difficult to get anybody on the phone. How would you rate customer service and support? Neutral Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? Previously, we were using Microsoft ATP; however, that was not sufficient enough. Basically, we added another layer by including FortiMail. We've also used Barracuda in the past. Barracuda had a lot of false positives. I don't know if they have improved since we used them. As far as I have seen, they've improved a lot in their email security solutions with total email protection. We are thinking of switching over to the cloud version of that, to save costs on the renewal and everything. How was the initial setup? The initial setup isn't too complex. I'd rate it seven out of ten. If people know how to set up email security, it is easier. You have to have the basic knowledge of how to set up email security and how to create policies. Any security person who's been in this field for a long time will be able to do it within an hour or two. You do require a minimum of at least two to three people to handle it. You need to have one from the incident-response team who will handle the incidents, analyze the incidents, and then, basically, take a response or action on the activity. Another person should be available to generate reports and, basically, review the reports and provide them to audits and the compliance team. You also need a person who knows the whole system by heart and who's experienced in it. What about the implementation team? I'm actually Fortinet certified, so I know the product. I was able to handle the deployment myself, in-house. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? We'd like to see better pricing. I'd rate the cost of the product six or seven out of ten in terms of affordability. Which other solutions did I evaluate? We did not evaluate other solutions. What other advice do I have? I'm a customer and end-user. We are using the latest version of the solution. I would not recommend this solution to others. I'd rate it five out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? On-premises Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.
