I bought this to have all wireless components. It has worked as I wished, but lately it hesitates once you press a key, and then it repeats the letter 4-5 times.

Save your money.
Had 2, neither worked. Ordered one set, keyboard kept stopping and mouse was sporadic. Reported to Dell, received another set, same situation. Sent both back to Dell but forgot to put RA# on package, so i assume, seeing that I haven't heard in the last few weeks, I doubt that I ever will. So far it seems the wired mouse and keyboard work ok.

documentation for kit
good morning,
the kit works fine, and came at the right time. the documentation on how to use it
was a little thin. I found the transmitter by accident when I put the battery in the mouse, but I did not find the power switch until about a week later. now that I know how to turn the mouse and keyboard on and off , they are working just fine, do not assume that people just know what to do with a product when they get it for the first time.
the product works fine, the documentation was very weak.

Bad Mouse
The keyboard functions are fine but the mouse is pretty weak. The cursor sometimes goes where you want it to go but mostly it drags and is hard to get it to a clicking spot. Switched batteries but that's not the problem. I seem to have gotten a defective mouse.

This was JUST the thing I needed. No problem connecting them, easy set up and within seconds I was up and running. I highly recommend these!

Wireless Keyboard
Works Great, slim profile which is why I chose this. Only issue I have encountered is plugging the USB receiver into the docking station does not work well, it looses the connection and you have to reboot the laptop. Once I put the receiver into the laptop USB I did not have anymore problems loosing connection.

problems galore
I am having a dickens of a time setting everything up the way I want it. I still don't know how to use my printer to communicate with my computer to print the letters I wanted to write. When I connected the wireless keyboard and mouse to the slot indicated on the (no language, just icons page that came with my new computer, everything was so slow that it kept "crapping out" I finally moved the wifi plug to the front: THAT WORKED -- disgusting and frustrating.

Disappointed in my Purchase
I bought the attached peripherals to go with my Dell Desktop and I will you that since I installed the Dell machine, it has be a disappointment. The image that you loaded on to this machine had/has issues and screens are incomplete, performance is extremely slow at times. Had I known I was going to have these experiences, I wouldn't have made the purchase.

This combo of keypad and mouse was easy to set up and is a snap to use. The best part is the elimination of 2 cords that tether the mouse and keyboard to a fixed spot. Now I can move them around where I need them. The keyboard has the right size keys and the feel is much better than my old wired board. Well worth the cost!

I'm used to usb mice. They don't have switch.
Nothing in instructions about switch.
The mouse switch was easy enough,
it's on the underside of mouse.
The keyboard switch is on right side,
on the side, just over the /* keys.
It's small, isn't marked or even look like a switch.
It does work on win 7 don't know about win 10

Being on the older side of life,my vision is'nt what it used to be. So hence the added key board and mouse for use with my new laptop. nothing wrong with new Dell Inspiron 3793, JUST NEEDED THE LARGER KEY BOARD AND MOUSE,foe a senior moment so to say.NOW i must say they fit in lappy back pack just dandy, and are a great addition to and inhance the pleasure that I derive from my combo.Have been a long time Dell user great products and very realiable in my experiance. Once again i would suggest these to anyone, even youngsters may prefer this setup compared to useing the finger pad and keys on the laptop.

Review of KM636 Dell Wireless Keyboard and mouse
I just received the KM636 wireless combo a few days ago; so far it has met my expectations. It was nice to find out batteries are included for a change! I mainly picked it up to clean up the wire clutter on my desk. The mouse I don't care for too much..its optical; its lightweight requires one AA battery and it gets the job done. The keyboard is slim and has some nice rudimentary features for media playback and a shortcut for sleep for the computer which I was not expecting(all accessible with the Fn key). Its very similar to the wired keyboard KB216 in tactile feel and size, with one important difference it does not give you the option to lay the keyboard flat like the KB216 as the battery bay tilts the backside of the keyboard up permanently. I also picked up the PR216 palm rest and it fits nicely with the KM636 and so far it has allowed me to typed comfortably for long stretches. In the PR216 info it says its for the KM636 and KB212. I have the KB212 it doesn't attach to it at all, but it will attach to my KB216 keyboard very well! (I've included comments on the PR216 as there is no means to review it at its product page)

Good keyboard, good mouse. What I do not understand is why, since I was buying these with a new desktop, the computer also came with a conventional keyword and mouse. It's not like I need two keyboard and two mice. If I had known that, I would have passed on the these. Or a break on the cost of the computer would have been nice.

Love the keyboard; not so much the mouse
Very happy with the keyboard. It is very responsive, easy to see, and being wireless, I can put it up at night so the kittie doesn't sleep on it. The mouse though, I'm not real happy with. the scroll on it "hangs up" and I have to tap it or left tap to re-engage. i would certainly purchase the keyboard again, but without the mouse.

The mouse is great but the keyboard is not. It lags so much that it often will type out a single letter multiple times from one tap. The keys are not sticking, the keyboard is clean. So I can only imagine its from lag or just a bad connection. It is frustrating and takes more time to attempt to rewrite

When received, the laptop had a noise coming from the fan. I sent it to the repair facility. After almost two weeks, I got it back. The noise persists. In addition, the noise changes when keys are depressed and vibration can be felt in the keys. I have asked for a refund, but Dell has apparently sent me a replacement laptop.

UNHAPPY CUSTOMER
The mouse works fine. The keyboard is where I had the problem and the problem started right from the beginning. If you started to type something nothing happened. Then all of a sudden you would get say 9 w's in a row. Shake the keyboard and nothing happened. Open battery compartment and twill the batteries and still nothing. Then all of a sudden the keyboard worked. It would go back to it's old way all of sudden. Tries new batteries and nothing. This went on for a few days and then when I needed it to work it didn't. I tries to get the rubber piece off from the battery compartment and it crumbled. I took the key board threw it in the garbage and hooked my wired one into place and I have not had a problem since.

Skipping letters
Unfortunately, I got 2 of these keyboards and both are skipping letters. I have to retype everything. I even put the receiver next to the keyboard - the same thing happens. It is the flaw in the protocol or something. There is no interference because each keyboard is being used in different location. Mouse behaves fine, never had problem with it. I wish the keyboard did not skip, because typing feeling is awesome, very quiet and smooth. But it is ruined by not recognizing what I am typing.

Basic wireless keyboard and mouse
This is a very good plain and basic wireless keyboard and mouse at a decent price. I had to ask my salesperson for the low cost wireless keyboard and mouse because it wasn't listed as an option for the computer I wanted. I don't use or need all the buttons that come on the more pricey mice (mouses?), and I like no more wires on my desk! If there is an option you want but don't see just ask your salesperson.

As wireless keyboard combos go, this is a good one
The KM636 keyboard/mouse combo was included with my Inspiron 20 All-In-One, but it was one of the things that sold me on that system. I'm accustomed to full-travel wired keyboards yet I've found this chiclet-style unit easy to get used to. The keys provide a bit more resistance than the competitors'. The layout is essentially the same as most wired keyboards, with full-size arrow keys in the traditional "inverted T". They're well separated from the main keyboard and the numeric keypad. The only glitch is the keyboard's power switch, which is recessed into the back of the keyboard and is hard to find by feel. The mouse feels comfortable and fits in my hand easily.
It's too early to comment on battery life but I'm hoping that the deep sleep mode will save me from having to go through tons of batteries.
If you're a heavy-duty, all-day user you might want something more substantial than this combo, but for general use it's ideal.

Terrible Lag, not good for anyone who types...
Bought this keyboard last week, there is terrible lag and miss typing of characters, makes it unusable. Sometimes multiple characters will appear when I tap keyboard once, or no character will appear at all - extremely disappointing. If I place the USB wireless dongle a cable and put it right beside the keyboard it works better (not perfect) - normally it doesn't work more than half a foot from the keyboard.

Disappointing.
I bought this with a Inspiron 3471. It has considerable "lag" at time, and sometimes, when I type, it doesn't register half the letters I'm typing. Don't know if its the computer or the keyboard, but it's disappointing. I use a wired keyboard for fast typing now, and just use the wireless when I'm not at my desk.

Key to Screen Delay
There is a lag between the keyboard and the letters appearing on the computer. Also, sometimes if you hit the delete once it deletes many characters. Mouse works fine. We may go back to using the free wired keyboard that came with the computer because this one is so annoying. Actually, I wouldn’t have bought this at all if it was clear the computer came with a keyboard, but I don’t remember seeing that anywhere on the Dell website. At least not in an obvious way.

what a piece of JUNK!!! I'm a medical transcriptionist, and the keyboard couldn't keep up with me. When it did the characters the keyboard came up with on the screen were not at all close to what I typed. Then trying to log-in was a JOKE...it took multiple times of retrying and being careful to not go over the limited three times w/o having to obtain a new password. You'd think as this being your major product you'd get it RIGHT!!!

Look away and save yourself some money and frustration
DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT
I bought this keyboard and mouse at a local store mainly because it offered no wires and one receiver for two input devices. That way i could save a USB port space and messy wires on my desk and floor. With how little my work space is, it i important for me to extra room and not getting tangled up in wires.
But as many have written on their reviews the main problem is the keyboard not responding, spamming. I am a contract translator and something of a gamer. With that you might imagine how much my work and leisure is dependent on a good keyboard. I usually have to type hundreds of pages in a month on a tight schedule. Having this keyboard affected the quality of my work. I would have typos, "tttttttt"-s, when I hold shift, it would prompt the "sticky keys " alert, would have to hit Capslock several times to turn it on or off, Backspace and Delete key remove more than expected, Space would type multiple spaces on the page. Not only did it slow me down, but with my usual workload it was difficult proof everything. In messed up with my business and I failed to retain several clients. In effect, I lost future my incomes.
My gaming has also suffered slipping down over a dozen ranks in my favorite competitive video game. Suffered humiliating defeats, as if I were a newb. Some online players will not play on my team again.
My dissatisfaction with the keyboard seems to match with other users' views as well. Yet, in my case the problem doesn't stop with the keyboard. The mouse also jumps around occasionally, which also affects gaming.
Until I bought a new keyboard, shaking the device seem to make it responsive to typing, if only for a few seconds.
DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT

Great keyboard and mouse
I just replaced my older Dell keyboard and mouse with these new and updated ones and I haven't had any issues. The keyboard and mouse come packaged together, and batteries are included in the packaging as well which, honestly, is just awesome, so thank you for that Dell.
The keyboard is very similar to my previous keyboard with the exception of the screensaver button being moved, the key spacing is a little different, and the texture of the keyboard isn't as smooth. The key spacing is just about right. This keyboard feels much more comfortable than my previous one. I found that I would over estimate how far the buttons were on my previous keyboard and would end up mashing 2 buttons or completely miss the button I was aiming for. I have not had this issue with this keyboard. The texture on this keyboard isn't as smooth. I actually like it. It's not rough, there is just a hint of texture on the keyboard which is just the right amount. The keyboard takes 2 AAA batteries which are installed on the back of the keyboard. Pretty straight forward and simple.
The mouse is a 100% step up from my previous Dell mouse. I had issues constantly with it. The mouse has the same texture on it that the keyboard does, and again, I quite like it. To install the batteries, you lift off the cop part of the mouse and install 1 AA battery. My previous mouse took 2 batteries that would pop out of the mouse randomly. This mouse feel so much more secure because the battery compartment has a cover which prevents that from happening.
So far the use of the mouse and keyboard have given me no issues at all. Connecting them to my computer was as simple as plugging in the included bluetooth USB and letting the set up run on its own. It took no more than 30 seconds before the mouse and keyboard were up and running. Installation and use is as smooth and easy as one could want.

I'm 72 and prefer to have instructions. not just a box with parts (some hidden in the cardboard with no details on how to install. A few cartoon drawings were no help. But, once I got a younger person to figure out where you hid the thing that had to plug into the side of my desktop, the keyboard itself works fine. I hope you saved a penny or two by not printing instructions. Your shareowners applaud you.

Hate to rip wireless features but this keyboard SUCKS! It doesn't always respond to input and when it does sometimes even though you didn"t, it adds characters like you held the key. Owned and used many "cheap" wireless products in the past, this one was a waste of money.

Seem fine right now, but have only had them for a couple of weeks. Don't know what the battery lives are like with my limited usage. Also, won't know for several years how well the few mechanicals stand up over time - the on/off switch of a monitor I've got finally failed after about 8 years of service, and I need to turn it on/off by plugging in / unplugging. A 5-star would have to wait (hopefully) for several years, until superannuated.

Having issues with the KM-636.
Bought this keyboard / mouse with a 3630 Workstation. From the start, it was very intermittent. After calling Dell support, they determined the problem to be with the motherboard. They sent a tech out and he replaced the motherboard as well as the KM636 keyboard and mouse. He plugged the radio into the front USB port and all seemed well. Later I plugged a USB3 portable hard drive into the adjacent port and the problems with intermittent behavior returned. To make a long story short, on my system, this setup only work with 1 front USB port as long as there's nothing in the adjacent USB 3 port. It is intermittent using any other port, front or back.

Nice, until it dies
Haven't had any issues with the mouse, battery life is great. The keyboard looks great and worked effortlessly for the first 18 months. Unfortunately, it now lags, misses keys, and sometimes temporarily disconnects entirely, even with a fresh set of batteries. If you're looking for a disposable keyboard, this one is a great choice!

Three strikes on the keyboard
I don't care for the design of the keyboard, as it lies too flat. (There are no feet on the bottom to change the angle.)
The left side of the keyboard is too sensitive, as when you try to type one letter, several letters will display. (For example - if you try to type "a" - "aaaaaa" will display.)
The number lock will not stay locked. You are lucky if you can get a 4-digit pin added before it turns itself off.
(I am glad the new computer came with a wired keyboard.)
PS - The mouse works as expected.

Disappointing Performance
I was pleased with the wired keyboard and mouse that came with my computer so ordered this combo expecting the same in a wireless combo. Like the title says, the performance was disappointing.
The mouse is good. It responds well and is lightweight. Not a fan of the idea of taking off the top of the mouse to put in the battery, however. The keyboard, however, was sluggish and sometimes took several hits on the Windows key to bring up the menu. The numlock key needs to be tapped at every startup. Apparently this is something to do with Windows 10 as the same is the case with the wife's Logitech keyboard. For this reason I prefer the wired keyboard that came with my computer which has no numlock key. The keyboard is a fraction of an inch longer than the standard keyboard that came with my computer and the keys a bit smaller.
It would be nice if the transceiver was a bit longer so that it is easier to unplug. It is almost impossible to grasp.
Oddly, it took a noticeably longer time for my taskbar icons to appear after reaching the Windows 10 desktop even though the mouse and keyboard were active.

Failed to Function
I'm sorry, but the wireless keyboard and mouse did nor perform well at all. Once I connected it to my Dell Desk top PC (which I really, really like) - the keyboard keys would not function. I double checked the batteries, but that didn't help at all. I would be typing away, and look at the screen & and the words I wanted were a "hodgepodge" of words I didn't recognize. It didn't matter if I hit the keys a little harder or a little lighter or typed with one finger. Needless to say, I returned the items within the 30 days allotted for return items.

Cheap construction
One of the few Dell wireless options for a work station. Very basic--essentially a larger laptop-type keyboard compared to the well-built deep-key wired keyboards of times past. Keyboard battery compartment is cheaply constructed. A couple of the tiny plastic clasps that hold it together snapped off when sliding the cover back in the first time! Now the compartment doesn't securely close. Will see if I can get a replacement.

Great for work
My old mouse and keyboard were getting old an worn out, so I upgraded to this set. It's not "top of the line" in terms of the price, etc, but this set is very good. The mouse is super smooth and the buttons are not too stiff (or too sensitive). The keys are nice, they have just the right "spring" to them. Overall, I am very satisfied and cannot find any flaws.

Inportant info for any buyer.
I got this KB and loved it. Great feel and good nice sleek look. One MAJOR problem they dont mention: If you loose the USB dongle, the KB and mouse are essentially trash. They preset the connection to the KB and mouse at the Manufacturer. If you loose yours there is no way to get a replacement. I lost mine and now I had no choice but to dump it. No point in keeping it since Dell refuses to do anything about it. I have checked forums, groups and every available resource and they all say the same. You are out of luck.

Both are comfortable. My complaint: lighted keys! But, I guess at this price I can not expect perfection.

Very nice combination package.
Overall, both keyboard and mouse are great. I had two minor issues with the keyboard, but I think they have been resolved - 1) battery door fell off twice before I finally got it to stay put; and 2) keyboard had to be turned on, off and then on again before being recognized by my Dell Inspiron 7570 laptop computer. I wish the keyboard had tilt adjustments, but that's not typical in a wireless keyboard.
I had ZERO issues installing the mouse and love the feel and performance. It flows freely on my desktop, my lap, and my recliner arm. Perfect!

Lights do NOT stay on
It seems to work fine - however, the num lock and caps lock lights on the keyboard do not stay illuminated. They light up for about 5 seconds when the keys are initially pressed but then go off which means you have to press them more often because you don't know if the respective key has or has not been pressed. I think the reason is to save the battery - not what I expected.

Skip this combo. Mouse is junk!
The Bluetooth keyboard is fine, maybe four stars. The mouse, which is not Bluetooth, has a plug in receiver. If I put the mouse more than 10 inches from the computer, it stops working. VERY poor and cheap mouse. I'm sure that I will have to replace it. Not at all happy!

Poor Quality Mouse and Keyboard
Very disappointed with the mouse and keyboard. I've had to replace the battery several times on the mouse and the keyboard. Neither item even works anymore and this after having for just a few months.

Ok for daily use
This mouse and keyboard are fine for day to day use so long as you don't need something that works well. The connection for both the mouse and keyboard are spotty even at close range. I can't believe that I thought that this would be better than my wired set from dell that were also having issues. DO NOT use these for gaming as they will be to sporadic for most games.

Wireless keyboard
I thought I was buying wireless keyboard; instead it is a wireless mouse and a wireless keyboard and to use the keyboard you have to use the mouse or just leave it sitting on your desk. I have thought about returning it.

Dell Wireless Desktop Keyboard and Mouse KM636
Mostly works fine, but the number lock won't stay engaged so that's kind of annoying. There's certainly a work around but really it should work.

Great keyboard if you don't mind losing one letter per paragraph
I am really disappointed in this keyboard. The mouse part of the combo works great, but the keyboard likes to occasionally ignore letters that you type. It makes up for it by sometimes freezing up and entering the letter ten times.

Keyboard has no legs. Height cannot be adjusted. Keypresses are too shallow.
This keyboard doesn't have any legs. It lays much too flat. The keys are also very shallow. It's basically like a laptop keyboard.
Keyboards have been around for what now, 40 years? You would think that in that time period we would have got them all figured out by now. Unfortunately some 'brilliant' product designer has decided to throw 40 years of ergonomics out the window.
Who cares if it is wireless if it is uncomfortable to use? This keyboard is made to look sleek and modern, but it is not made to type on all day.

Run Away
Clunky and cheap. Mine does not work properly with Facebook and Dell does not support the situation and wants to charge for support. I wish I would have gotten the more expensive keyboard. It is the worst. Best to stay with the identical hardwired cheap keyboard and mouse that comes with the computer. This is not an upgrade.

First thoughts
Like the freedom of keyboard movement, but the smaller footprint size vs. a standard keyboard is a problem for me, typing is more difficult. If one is used to a lap top keyboard, this unit will work fine.

Nice wireless set up
I would have given 5 stars except for one short sighted feature. The indicator light does not stay on for CAPS lock nor the NUMBERS lock. When a program or update requires a restart the function is usually lost and you don't notice it until you type in a password with hidden numbers and you get the message of an incorrect password. Then you realize the NUMBERS lock was likely switch off. So you need to retype your password. Just a nuisance thing. Otherwise the wireless set up is great. TB

Dell Wireless Keyboard and Mouse- KM636
The Mouse is to small for my hand both width and height. I don't care for the style either. I like the style and look of the chiclet style keyboard but not the feel. It does not sit high enough off the desktop for my liking as I have big hands. I don't care for the the tactical feel feedback from the keys. I do not like the fact the the NUM lock LED light goes out after about 5 seconds even though the NUM lock stays "on" on the keyboard. I was told by Dell that is is to save battery life. This is just about my personal feel, likes and dislikes. The product works fine.

I love the feel of this keyboard. It works great with my Dell Optiplex 7010 Tower. I think it has great build quality. The keys feel similar to the keys on my Inspiron 15 laptop. I love this!!! I'm typing this review on it right now!!

Very Nice Combo
I have to say Dell wins again. Now I have a keyboard and mouse that matches my Dell desktop. This keyboard is almost half the size of my other one and yet it feels more comfortable and definitely takes up less space on my gaming pad. Best thing of all? One dongle for both!!!! My computer had no problem pairing these and the key presses are solid but feel to me more comfortable using. The mouse works well and the tracking is smooth and not jerky. I can't say much about the battery life as I've only had this combination a short while but kudos to Dell for including Duracell batteries for both. Included in the box is also a simple Quick Start Guide with illustrations. I am pleased with this combo. And I used it to write this review.

Not too pleased
No instructions in box, had to search on line. Everyone isn’t tech-savvy. The mouse is clumsy, too big and noisy and there doesn’t seem to be an option not to use it.

I’m a long time MacBook Pro user. This computer is great. The only thing is that MacBooks have the best trackpad out there. This one is good, don’t get me wrong. But I will miss the MacBook trackpad.

Stops working after a month or two
I bought SEVERAL of these keyboards for my entire office, and the majority of my coworkers have returned them to me after only a month or two complaining that it either freezes (won't type for several seconds, then types half of what you typed or the keys "stick" (not physically stick, but type the same letter "ffffffffffffffffffffffff" a bunch after hitting the button just once). We've tried replacing the batteries, thinking that might be the problem, but that doesn't help anything. I've been sticking them in the corner and ordering other models/brands to replace them. Been considering returning them all to Dell and asking for our money back!

FRUSTRATING
I purchased this wireless mouse and keyboard because of the sleek and slim mouse design. I really like how it fits in my hand and the initial ease of use. However, my frustration is that the mouse often has some lag as well as the keyboard. On some websites, the keyboard input has a huge and frustrating lag when typing. It causes me to nearly bang on the keys in order for my keystrokes to be recognized. I have been dealing with this for months and it has not gotten better so I'll be tossing this device into the trash :(
