Great little drive and good customer support
More than happy with the drive, it feels really quick and has a nice robust cable ( my Samsung t5 lead is a bit loose which causes the drive to dismount if i move it too much!).
Also i had to contact customer support with an issue during registration, i didnt get my adobe trial code, they promptly replied and sorted me out a new one a few days later.

The main reason for the purchase of the Crucial X9 Pro is as a backup for my laptop. Due to its high storage capacity and speed I also use the device to store large files such as videos, music and photos.

For facts speeds, must use cable
My original intention was to use this product for storing all the videos and photos on shoot on location. I love the size and portability. One thing I wish I knew upfront was that I would only get the advertised speeds if I used the included cable. With any other cable I use; the write speed drops dramatically. (250 MB/s at some point)
I will continue to use this product for my bitcoin node! it's a truly incredible price per TB!
But is not suited in my video production workflow

Product is perfect for my use as a backup datastore. Fits well out of sight where it will remain. I would buy another one having seen how good this one is for use on the move

I would be reluctant to purchase this product again
I purchased this device as it was priced competitively when compared to other similar devices such as the Samsung portable SSD T7. It had a good review by people far more worthy of comment than myself. It appeared to be physically robust and was supposedly capable of being password protected . That I presumed would be a simple feature similar to that offered by Samsung. Sadly that turned out to be a false claim. Crucial help desk offered a potential solution that made no sense to me and appeared to be associated with machine start up. Checking windows help line and referring to the suggestions made by Crucial it was clear that what was suggested would not work (Windows stated that). I had intended this device to be portable such that I could take it on my travels and store it in my car whilst away from home. Password protection was in this case vital. As said it does not have that facility even though it is advertised as having that capability, and furthermore Crucial helpline confirmed that their engineers are still working on software that would make that possible. If I had not been in urgent need of additional storage I would have returned the item for a refund.

Perfect little ssd
Very useful drive for photos, plenty of space. Allows me to see everything while on the laptop or main desktop computer. It allows me to back up to an external harddrive when I need to.

Misrepresented - key features are not available
Advertised as offering encryption and password protection. Except the Crucial software tool for same is not yet released and "there is no known ETA". So please use Bitlocker. Unless you don't have that, and have to BUY IT FOR £120. Thanks Crucial.
