It would saved time and money. Had the salesperson of the external disk told me I required a cable I would have ordered it then or order an external disk with a cable attached.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy from Crucial again. Absolutely. Had a problem at first because the software wouldn't allow me to select the new ssd as destination for cloning. But then I tried adding the ssd as a new drive and afterwards I tried the cloning again and it allowed me to select the new ssd as the destination clone drive. Couldn't find this solution anywhere. Had to figure it out on my own.

Fortunately Intuit Quickbooks had diagnostic software that located the corrupt files and corrected the problem. It does leave me wondering what else may not have "cloned properly" that I havent yet discovered.

At least until the industry makes everything outdated and unsupported, so we all have to buy new equipment. But, by then I should be fully retired and won't need to deal with this stuff anymore. Happy trails to everyone else!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product -- worked flawlessly. Recently used this cable for cloning HDD to a Crucial MX 500 SSD using Acronis software. Worked well, without any glitches. I shall soon be trying it with a Crucial BX SSD which shall be used as a backup device and is relatively less expensive than a flash drive of equal capacity. I have Samsung T3 and T5 USB 3 storage flash drives which work twice faster than other external backup drives (5400 and 7200 r.p.m). I am hoping that the USB to SATA adapter cable would further improve the data transfer rates...!
