Purchased this label maker to replace PT-2100 when I converted from Windows to OSX. No OSX drivers were available for PT-2100, so I 'upgraded'.

If one has used only the old plastic, embossed label type of label maker in the past (as I had, then the controls on this device might seem a bit intimidating at first. Similarly, the software (available free on the Brother website) seems complicated at first, since it combines features of both graphic and word-processing software. However, the printed manual (for controlling the device manually) is clear and thorough, while the online/software help function for controlling the device from a computer is exceptionally user-friendly. This device is versatile and has many uses around the home and in a business office.

Otherwise, very happy with purchase. I just don't use it with the computer anymore, and therefore have limited access to the full functionality.
