Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Quality Docking Station For the price is a good quality docking station. It works great. I wish it would charge the laptop but I guess if it did it would cost more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, lightweight device to use on the go! I love the compact size of this! I used it to turn my laptop into a desktop and it easily extended to two different monitors. A major plus was that it was compatible with my macbook, and not many products are. I would highly recommend this to someone who's traveling on business.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works I use my Dell Inspiron most often as my home office PC. I have no complaints about quality or function. I was hoping that -- in addition to allowing multiple displays and connections -- the docking station would allow me to power off and on the Inspiron without having to open the lid and press the power button. This function is available for the commercial Dell Lattitude series that I use at work. I have inquired of Dell Support if such a docking unit was available for my Inspiron and was informed that feature was not available. Disappointing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Features! The VisionTek Universal USB 3.0 Dual Display Docking Station, worked very well for my needs. It is smaller than I thought it would be as well lighter. Connecting everything was simple. I had no problems setting it up and using it. I would recommend this my family and friends. I'm very happy using it. I received this product to give my honest opinion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The D1000 in a VT Box Called Dell looking for more D1000's and was told that the VT1000 was the exact replacement. It went right into our coporate image and worked out of the box. Great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super simple plug and play This docking station works great for someone like me who uses both Mac and PC for both work as well as personal use. My PC laptop and my Apple Mac Mini finally play together nicely. My laptop is now a 2 monitor machine when plugged into the VT1000. Set up was super easy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features! This is so handy! My desktop died so I got a new laptop but missed the features I had with the desktop. My son helped me hook my printer, keyboard, mouse, monitor and speakers up to the VisionTek Docking station and I love it. If I want to use my laptop in another room or take with me I just have to unplug 1 wire and I'm ready to go and I just plug back in when I want to use with my big monitor. I think I could have hooked it up myself because it looked to easy but my son kind of walked me through the steps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Multi use This is an amazing multi use product. I'm so happy to have come across it.VisionTEK Docking station VT1000 Universal Dual Display USB 3.0 Dock is great for charging devices such as, phones , portal chargers, tables , and more. It has USB 3.0 and 3.1 connection capability as well as USB C connection capability for the newer PCs that take this particular type of connection. I have had the opportunity to charge multiple devices at the same time with this VisionTEK Docking station VT1000 Universal Dual Display USB 3.0display dock , and it doesn't take all day to charge because it has 4 superspeed 3.0 USB ports on one side and two more on the other side . This device also has a audio out plug and a mic in plug . It is also has a built-in 10/100/1000 base t gigabit Ethernet port . The absolute best feature of the VisionTEK Docking station VT1000 Universal Dual Display USB 3.0 Dock has to be the two HDMI ports and the two display ports that allows you to mirror video modes and support resolutions up to 4k. I will say how ever that the 4k resolution varies at times but overall it does the things it's supposed and works great for work and entertainment purposes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Well It's not made for connecting a lot of items. A couple of monitors, a printer and a couple of open USB ports is it's maximum load. This is more than enough for me and most other people. If you are a huge peripherals user, this may not be for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from VisionTEK Dock This dock is amazing! It was easy to setup and small form factor so it doesn't take up a lot of desk space. It has an HDMI, and Display port for connecting a monitor. If you have a monitor that only has VGA then you will have to buy an adapter in order to connect it. There are plenty of USB port as well. I love being to connect my desk monitor to it so that I don't have to use my laptop screen which is small. I would highly recommend that anyone that uses their laptop at home for a desktop try this dock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For the price, works great! I've had this dock for a few weeks now and have had little to no issue with it. Took a little bit of time to setup but im pretty sure that was due to user error LOL. Portable enough to move around the office with my laptop. Would definitely buy this unit again if something happened to mine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrible I thought this would be a simple way to run two monitors off of the laptop. It was not. It ran so hot you couldn’t touch it and it never, ever ran two monitors without having to constantly reset the display settings. And yes, all of the drivers were current. This is an absolute waste, do not spend your money. Get an HDMI to USB converter instead. It’s half the money and none of the issues. What’s worse is I waited longer than the thirty days to attempt a return so now I’m stuck with a paperweight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact, Sleek, & Functional Added to my home office laptop to have an larger monitor and add Ethernet connection. Only had to downloaded Displaylink driver update and Works perfectly for my home set up. Now, I only have to plug in to one connection and it also added a few USBs that are coming in very handy for external drives and I added a wireless keyboard to one of the hub USBs, so it connects immediately too. Sits nicely right under my monitor for easy access. Looks classy... Simply a Great add-on!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mostly great, but at times out of the blue freezes computer forcing reboot I bought this about a month and a half ago, and most of the time it is great. But it occasionally results in completely freezing my computer. There is nothing that works other than holding the power button for several seconds and then rebooting the computer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple setup :) First let me say that I wouldn't call myself very tech savvy, but when the description says "plug n play" they mean it. One cord from my laptop to the unit, a simple driver pop-up and a couple selections to choose and I was up and running with my 32" monitor. The unit is small, takes up much less space than I would have thought for what it all does. To have all the peripherals from my desktop being able to be used with my laptop without all of the cords to mess with is a welcome bonus. And when I'm finished with my work I just unplug one cord and carry my laptop to my favorite chair for relaxing in front of the TV and playing around on auction sites.  It's amazing to have 2 screens doing the same thing at the same time and not have any refresh lag or blinking hiccups. Homeschooling will be so much easier (and much more enjoyable!) next month, no more flipping the laptop around or sitting on top of each other to see what's on the screen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small and full of features! I have been looking for a small portable device to expand my laptop when at home, the office or on trips. This unit by VisionTek has everything I need. I'm no longer limited to using the touch pad mouse functions or a small screen. I can easily share my screen with others by easily connecting to other monitors. It also allows me to clone my screen or extend it for more work space. The only feature it does not provide is charging, however, as I am already used to always having my charging equipment anyway, this small device provides so many other conveniences, it doesn't phase me at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost works The docking station almost works . . . almost. After discussing online with the Dell rep possible solutions to driving two monitors with my laptop I bought this unit. Indeed it will interface with two monitors BUT the unit locks up several times each day and has to be unplugged to reset it each time. Not cool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from really great dock, same as the old D1000!? Bought these for my office, in place of the D1000, which Dell walked me into. Truly portable, surprisingly small. I transitioned to a laptop full time last year and this allows me to add my 2 monitors to my Dell laptop at home or in the office. Quick and painless. Add my KB, mouse and external drive and away we go. It also has a lock slot on it which is an added benefit for a joint workspace. There is 8 ports for connectivity. It does not deliver power though, which I get at this price point. Would recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice features, but display sometimes lags I bought this in November to go along with a brand-new Inspiron 5493 with 10 generation i5 with 16GB of RAM. It easily connects to the laptop and my other devices. Unfortunately, the display often lags. For example when scrolling through a website, or when trying to click different browser tabs, it briefly freezes, then jumps. It requires that I go much slower than I'd like.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Turns a laptop into a desktop on the fly This review is for the VisionTek VT-1000. Overall, it does exactly what you'd want it to do. You simply plug in the provided USB cable into your laptop and voila! Windows detects any peripherals that you would normally connect to a PC such as a mouse or keyboard. The only downsides to this device is that you cannot charge your laptop from it, but obviously that can be found on the larger docks. I do wish there were more USB ports because with only three ports, unless your mouse and keyboard share a USB port, you're going to be down to only one extra USB port. I love the fact that with this I can make my laptop essentially have three different monitors. While 1080p is basically the standard, it would be a nice feature to have all docks support 4K just to future proof. Just for a basic dock, it works perfectly. So long as you know that you only need a few more USB ports, and you want to split into a few more monitors (having the extra Ethernet port is just an added bonus) this will be the perfect dock for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Home office dream At work I have a desk top computer with several monitors that I use. When I work from my home office I use a laptop and did not the same flexibility. This lets me have multiple screens with my laptop and is more compact and user friendly than my work set up. Great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Docking Station does a great job A very simple piece of equipment that does what it says it will do. I have speakers, a webcam, a headset, and two monitors set up. One plug goes from the docking station to the laptop. I can keep the laptop closed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wireless Connections Stop Working I have plugged my wireless keyboard/mouse USB connector into the docking station and it frequently stops working, requiring me to then plug the connector directly into the laptop. I've only had the docking station a couple of months and it happens so often that I've stopped using it completely for my wireless keyboard/mouse.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Couldn’t get to work Got this product to give my laptop additional ports and connect a second monitor to. Installed the many drivers required making sure to get the most recent ones. The secondary monitor would not work other than my cursor being visible. Closing the laptop did make the secondary screen semi-functional. Basic programs would work, but anything more demanding would say the monitor wasn’t supported. The additional USB ports work, but having a large, multi-port with its own power source is pointless. Fairly disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Did not work ... from Day 1 ... Does not work ... we installed at an 'all Dell' workstation; however, when we energized the Docking equipment, nothing worked. We asked for a return shipping label. Our corporate standard has been to use the D3100 and have had no issue; but with this one by VisionTEK, our initial experience is negative.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Would return it if my dog hadn't shredded the box Seemed to work okay at first, but my 2nd monitor soon became glitchy frequently flickering on and off and the mouse would lag. No issue prior to using the docking station with that monitor and no issue since I reverted to plugging everything directly into my laptop instead of through the docking station. Would return it if my dog hadn't have shredded the box.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Did not work for me This is something that I thought was going to be useful for me. Due to setup though, it did not. My computer could not use the cord that had both ends USB-C but instead used the normal USB with the other end being the USB-C. Since this was needed, the computer still needed an additional power source which did not really help much in terms of cutting down cables that I was using and things that were getting complicated. The instructions were of no help whatsoever so you will need to google this or have a tech person assist you. My boyfriend installs these daily and new instantly how to hook it up so it was very easy for him. I attempted to hook it up myself without assistance and just using the booklet but was confused when it kept telling me to insert a CD into my computer to start the process. I have a laptop only so this made no scene to me. My boyfriend finally told me to ignore that and just plug things in where they fit. Kinda like you do with a computer. I have done that many times and have a bit of tech experience so if you do, you should be fine. It's pretty obvious where the cords go so that part was not hard. Had I continued trying to go by the instructions though like I did for review purposes, I would have been lost for a while and very upset. This I could see easily happening to someone that has no tech experience.
