Minor problem, but excellent customer service!
While we haven't used it very long, there was a really bad smell coming from the unit, even before it was connected to the wall outlet. When first connected, the unit was left overnight to double check everything. The smell was even more pronounced the next morning and hasn't totally disappeared.
The five stars are for the excellent customer service, when I called about this issue. The technical representative asked several questions and then said that he would be sending a replacement unit. I should be receiving the new unit, soon and am hoping that the replacement will not have the same odor as the first one I purchased. Thanks, Tripp-Lite!

I would buy this product again.
Improved from the previous version. The outlets are now much easier to insert and remove plugs. They appear to be separate piece parts rather than directly molded into the case as before. There is no longer a user-initiated battery self-test. I assume it continuously monitors the battery charge and will report a failure when the time comes.

AVR is a must to have
I use several Tripplite AVR UPS units. Our power company delivers rather poor voltage regulation and we have lost a number of computers and video equipment over the years until We started with these AVR units. Years since a failure. I like being able to change the batteries out with the Tripplites.

A very good and trustworthy UPS!
Overall this is a great UPS/Back up power supply. I like the fact that replacement batteries are readily available and easy to install for when the time comes to renew the battery and it also comes with voltage regulation (AVR)
However, my unit did not come with a flat plug on the 110v power supply so I am wondering if perhaps I was sold an older unit. Also, I would have liked it better if the outlets were spaced farther apart as the 4 items I have plugged in are all transformer type plugs and take up a lot of room. I wall mounted my AVR700U and other than these minor issues mentioned it works as its suppose to. I would recommend to anyone looking for a UPS.

Used for router only. I have used Tripp-Lite products for years and in my opinion they offer the best features, performance and quality for the price. All my computer hardware is protected by Tripp-Lite products.

Good enought for a 700 watts computer system.

Lost a computer to electrical surge and this will prevent that. Also the ability to save information once the electricity goes off is a great help.

Connected to Entertainment Center
The battery backup is connected to my entertainment center (TV, receiver and BluRay). So far the equipment was protected and in a black out I had at least 30 minutes of continuing viewing. Great Quality.

Wr plan to purchase two more units very soon.
This was an easy install and equally easy to set up. A manual test by unplugging it convinced us that we had made the right selection for home office. We will purchase at least 2 more for other areas needing protection.

not sure if I'd buy again
Originally bought at Amazon, the first unit I received was badly melted. The entire side where the transformer and electronics are was badly warped, and the unit smelled like melted electronics. Amazon sent a replacement that looked OK, but once plugged in it got very warm, over 100ºF and gave off a very "electronic" odor. Tripp-Lite support sent me a third unit that seems fine and is now working as a backup to my router.

Latest addition to my Tripp-lite collection
I've used Tripp-lite power products for decades -- back to my first power line conditioner. I find them reliable; I find them attractively priced; I've liked my interaction with the company. I've used competing products, and always seem to come back to Tripp-lite. This latest battery backup box is to make sure my oxy concentrator stays on when National Grid plays with the local power; I like breathing, and this will take care of short outages quite handily.

Excellent protection and I would purchase again!
I use this device in Florida to protect my important electronics from lightening strikes, Frequent electrical storms with power dips and surges occur here in Central Florida due to these pop up storms. With both surge protection and battery backup protection I fear these storms less.

Excellent Line Interactive UPS
Great price and specification on a line interactive UPS. Unlike more basic (but sometimes more expensive) UPS units, this model provides automatic voltage regulation that responds to brownouts or over-voltage conditions. 8 outlets provide flexible connection options, including 2 wide spaced outlets. UPS power management natively connects to Windows10, allowing Windows OS to control PC shutdown based on battery status - my desktop's power management now acts like a laptop which is great.

Malfunctioned within a year but excellent customer service.
The battery malfunctioned after only a year and the device gave no warning, it just stopped working. However customer support was excellent and got me up and running again.

Beware of the off-gassing
I just put this unit into service 4 days ago - and I have to have the window to my office open or else I go home with headaches and eye pain. The off-gassing that this thing does is a health hazard. I'm going to have to get it swapped out for something else. I was thinking if I just let it sit and run that maybe it'd get better - but the smell and the physical effects have not abated. Bad purchase. Would not recommend.

Powerful yet affordable! We use our AVR700U to run 2 desktop computers with monitors and attached laser printer. Our office is in Florida where we get frequent lightning storms daily. Tripplite UPS's help us maintain our office productivity during the numerous power outages as a result of these daily storms....

Good product, bigger than expected and initially had an odor
So far I haven't had to test it, but it feels like the usual good quality that Tripp Lite delivers. It is quite a bit bigger than I had expected, but that's ok as it's under a desk. After I turned it on for a couple of days, it smelled like ozone, but the smell did disappear after a few days. One more thing of note it that it is warm to the touch. And I bought two of them -- they both did everything I mentioned.

great product and support, software is poor
Great product, presales was helpful about questions. Tech support about software was quick. Only problem is software feels like it was written in the late 80s early 90s. Win10 power management is better than software. Poweralert local needs to have 2 windows being run, a command dialogue and the program itself. On top of this it takes a long time to load and can't be minimized to task bar. Would be nice if they put a bit of effort into this so you could log events like power dips, but not have it command all your attention.

I recently purchased a 700 VA Line interactive UPS, and cannot be happier for this purchase. As it is widely known power outages are frequent in PR, and frankly got tired ok loosing information while working at home from my computer. Problem solved. Installed this unit, now i work confidently with no interruption. Thank you Tripp-Lite for making my work more efficient.
