This 120V line-interactive AVR UPS system provides reliable battery backup and AC power protection against blackouts, brownouts, surges and line noise that can damage valuable electronics or destroy data. The 8-outlet UPS is ideal protection for your home office or media center components, including computers, routers, printers, NAS drives, HDTVs, Blu-ray players, game consoles, media players, DVRs and audio receivers.
Backup support allows you to work through short power failures, and gives you enough time to safely save files and shut down your system in case of a prolonged blackout. Backup time varies according to load, but the line-interactive UPS system should keep an energy-efficient desktop computer with LCD monitor powered as long as 40 minutes. During normal operation, incoming utility power keeps the UPS battery fully charged, so backup power will always be available. The hot-swappable internal batteries can be replaced by the user.
Four 5-15R outlets provide both battery backup and surge protection for your computer, monitor and other crucial components. The other four 5-15R outlets are surge-protected only for printers, scanners and other non-essential equipment. Four outlets - two battery/surge and two surge-only - are spaced apart from the others to accommodate bulky transformers. Three are ECO outlets designed to save you money and protect the environment (see below).
By meeting strict EPA efficiency guidelines, this ENERGY STAR-certified UPS system helps you save money and energy. An ECO power-saving option features three ECO outlets - two surge-only, one surge- and battery-protected - that turn off automatically when the device connected to the Battery Backup Master Outlet is powered down or in sleep mode. These outlets are recommended for printers, desk lamps and other non-essential peripherals that don't need to be operational all the time.
Use the included USB cable to connect the USB-B port to your computer. Working with Tripp Lite's free downloadable PowerAlert software, this optional feature can enable safe unattended system shutdown and file saves in the event of a prolonged power failure when you aren't around.

It works just fine, as good as the other guys.
I use this ups to backup my pc if the power goes out. So far it passes the mustard test. It transfers to battery on self test very quickly. The Master out let has functioned well without issue so far. So far it is trust worthy. There was an instance that the utility went off for no reason. It hasn't done it since then. I use one of the usb ports for charging either headphones or my cell. That was one of the reasons I purchased this ups. Plus the price of.

ECO Feature Unuseable
I use this product to power my home office. It does the job, but the ECO feature needs refinement. The master plug requires 30w of power to keep the controlled plugs on. My mac mini does not use that much power even when active. So my speakers and monitor will randomly turn off, and there is nothing I can do to turn them on. I do not use the eco feature as a result. Honestly the 30w requirement needs to either be lowered, or as simple as 0w or no power to the master shuts off the controlled outlets. It would even been nice if you could adjust the 30w setting as not every computer draws that much power.

I would definitely buy this product again.
This is a high quality product that I have come to expect from Tripp-Lite. I have been impressed with their products since purchasing my first Tripp-Lite surge suppressor years ago. The digital readout on the UPS is a nice feature not found in competing products. I'm completely satisfied.

Good Budget Buy.
Received the UPS, and my first impression was that it was a nice looking and quality product. I plugged in my equipment, and plugged into wall outlet. I enabled ECO mode, and everything worked as expected. The only con I can see is that it has only one battery back up outlet controlled by the master outlet. Would have been nice to have three master controlled battery backup outlets.
Have no problems with the ECO Mode working the way it's supposed to.

This UPS is a "Game Saver"
We live in South Florida and during rainy season, and year round, power outages are a common occurrence. Most appliances go off and on with no obvious problem but we have Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices for our Hi-res music library and apparently they don't like power that drops out quite often. I decided to get a UPS and see if it could handle my problem. It took three weeks to find out! Power went out during the KC/LV NFL game last night. The cable box kept working, the TV stayed on and my storage devices are fine. And I might add, the price was fantastic!

Reliable Product That Works!
I am currently using this model in a small office. We have our network devices hooked up to it as well as a computer station. During the warner months we have a lot of brief outages and brown outs. This device has been so important to our company. It keeps us connect during those very brief power outages. During longer outages this unit it keeps us connected and gives us time to save our work. It's been a time saver. I liked it so much I have purchase another one for our phone systems and other equipment. Thank you Tripp-Lite!

Does not work as promised
I was expecting to use the UPS as a backup for my Synology NAS connected via USB to initiate safe mode shut down protocols. It doesn't work. Yes the Tripp Lite has a USB Communication Port and it claims it can be used to initiate safe shut downs, but neither the advertising or the instructions are clear on what it works with. I would buy something else, but now I can't return it. Very disappointing.
