The P566-006-VGA HDMI to VGA Active Converter Cable connects a computer, cable box, Blu-ray player or other HDMI source to the VGA port on a monitor, projector or television. This allows you to use your existing VGA display instead of investing time, effort and money into upgrading to a new HDMI display. The low-profile HD15 connector fits neatly into tight spaces without jamming between the monitor and wall or blocking nearby connections.
Ideal for displaying video on a large monitor or digital sign, this six-foot converter cable supports high-definition video resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 at 60 Hz. No software or drivers are required. If additional power is needed, connect a USB cable (sold separately) between the cable's USB Micro-B port and a USB wall charger or computer port.

Easy to install. Screws securing the cable to the monitor were easy access and tighten down. Cord is flexible enough to routed around other equipment. The small green light in the cable makes it easy to know that the cable, pc and monitor are hooked and powered on.

This was so easy!

If you have an older monitor that does not have an HDMI port this is one of the better choices. I have tried many other HDMI to VGA adapters with mixed results. The Tripp Lite seems to be the most stable with this type of adapter. What makes it nicer is the ability to add power with the micro USB connector if it is needed. Picture is fairly clear. Does a good job at 1920x1080. Only issue I have had is this laptops that are constantly plugged and unplugged. The HDMI end will eventually develop a short and you will have to replace it.

Perfect connectors with quality cord
This is one of the best HDMI to VGA cords I ever used. The connectors have a perfect fit with a locking mechanism. It even has a facility to add extra power via USB in case the output of your machine is not enough. Never saw that feature in any other cord at this price.

Great Adapter, Just What I Needed!
I used this product to help me connect the HDMI output from my motherboard to a VGA/DP monitor. I'm glad I found this, I did a lot of looking for this specific cable after running into issues not finding a HDMI to DP uni-directional adapter. The adapters I found were only uni-directional from DP to HDMI. Thanks Tripp Lite!

Cable was shipped promptly and worked as expected. Only thing to be aware of is that it needs a usb power connect using a micro-b port which is not included.
