It covers great and all of our wifi, streaming and gamming needs are met. Outside it loses its range so I am adding an addtional satellite to cover a greater area.

It’s about 50 ft from house and picked up with unit in window. Would have 5 stars for price. I could have got base and one satellite for what I paid for one satellite.

Completely stopped working after the 1-year warranty expired. It seems outrageous to buy a complete system at $250+ per Satelite EACH YEAR! That does NOT sound like a quality product or company that a person would want to continue doing business with, right? Not a customer friendly business practice -- as distinguished from Google Nest, which stands by their product!!! Theses bad experiences cause loss of customers via word of mouth and is what creates the OPPOSITE of brand loyalty. This is why i will continue to invest in Google Nest products and why i cannot trust the quality or integrity of Netgear :( :( :(

When speaking to technician he said if spectrum's router didn't get the coverage needed to try ORBI. I did and WOW it has been a perfect solution.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2.4GHz signal strengh issues I bought an RBR50 and RBS50 mesh wifi kit in October, and for the most part, I've been happy with it with the exception of some issues that I recently noticed. I set up an office in a room that was previously mostly unused and I noticed that WiFi didn't work very well in there. Distance from either access point to the room is relatively short, so I wasn't sure what was going on. I used a WiFi signal analyzer and found that 5GHz signal strength is very low in the room, which makes sense given the walls between the room and the access points. No problem, 2.4GHz signal strength is good. Wrong... The 2.4GHz signal strength frequently drops from ~70% to zero. I tested in close proximity to both the router and satellite and found the same issue. The 5GHz signal is always perfect, but 2.4 drops from 90% to 0 several times a minute. I want to put another satellite in that room to cover that area of the house, but I'm not sure I want to spend more money on a device that doesn't work properly. This problem is compounded by the fact that both my wife and I are working from home and our VPN connections drop constantly in this room, but they work when we're in range of 5GHz.

It not only has great coverage but I was skeptical of the wireless communication between the units and boy they never miss a beat no matter how many things are connected (up to 50 at any given time) from cell phones, tablets, steaming devices, game consoles, smart tv's, you name it this unit handles them all with ease. Ned-less to say that I have recommended these to all my family and friends.

After installing the Orbi Mesh the wifi is strong everywhere accept the garage. I plan to fix that with another satellite. I expect great results!

We have a 4,500sq ft house and an outdoor living space with a pool,. This is the only system that I have bought that goes through the brick and has a great signal by the pool. I know boo woo...but it's what I do. Very fast through put. Just the best and simple setup...Ok I'm done.

We had several internet problems in our house and the provider couldn't resolve the issue even though they tried they own brand extenders. We have had to restart many times the router, turn of our devices and so... After research we decided to buy the Orbi Mesh WiFi. As soon as we set up (super easy we noticed the difference. The device is able to fill a large home with high-speed Wi-Fi and has more range and power than any other router we have tried. The result: no more internet connectivity issues. We strongly recommend this device if you are experiencing internet problems / weak signal or even slow speed connection.

I've had home wifi since 2004 and this has been the best router by far. I have streaming only and do online gaming on the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro and have no lag or drops on WiFi. Amazing product!!

Directions are clear, simple. What easy integration takes is a bit of patience. AND, you should place your unit in the desired location before startup so the configuration of the network relays is simple. the instructions are not clear on this, only hint at it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Orbi Mesh Wifi review I live in a bungalow which is around 4500 sq ft carpet with 6000 sq ft buildup with access to parking and terrace. I was looking for professional level Wi-Fi solution which will cover below points. 1. Strong Wi-Fi coverage covering atleast 4000 sq ft plus area. 2. One home one Wi-Fi (SSID). 3. Wi-Fi performance (read speed) which should be more than good throughout my house. 4. Non messy Wi-Fi solution. 5. Scalable solution for future expansion as and when needed. Guess what OBRI RBK50 Mesh Solution clicks all the above points. Prior to using Netgear ORBI, I had purchased Asus GT2900 high end wireless router which claimed very lager coverage but unfortunately that was not the case and the claimed Wi-Fi coverage was only when the router was placed in open area. The penetrative power of Wi-Fi signals was pretty low inspite of 4 external antennas. I had to return the router after 3 days of testing as it was not giving the required performance. Next I started searching for Wi-Fi solution which will cover the above mentioned points and after comparing multiple Wi-Fi solutions from Linksys to TP Link and Asus's own Mesh Wi-Fi solution I finally opted for Netgear ORBI Mesh solution. I have purchased 1 1 (one router and one satellite) to ensure the required Wi-Fi coverage. Its been a week I am using the Wi-Fi system and I am very much pleased with performance. My house has thick walls and the three bedrooms are located in 3 corners of the house. Due to constrains the main router can be place only in one of the corner room and the satellite part of the system placed in another bedroom. Inspite of this the backend connection between the router and satellite is very strong (shows as GOOD in Orbi App) thanks to additional dedicated band for back haul link. I have 100Mbps fiber connection and from any room I get 85 to 95Mbps consistent speed although I have 19 devices (6 laptops /mac, 4 Smart TV, 8 Smart Phones, multiple IoT devices, couple of outdoor security camera etc) connected to the Wi-Fi network at any given point of time. Apart from this there is decent Wi-Fi coverage on my terrace above but the signal struggles in parking area. So overall I'm very satisfied with my purchase and would recommend this product to anyone who need robust Mesh Wi-Fi solution for their home or office. Some Drawbacks 1. ORBI app yo manage the devices is very basic and need improvements in multiple areas. 2. There are different models of Mesh Wi-Fi systems available from Netgear and none of these would work seamlessly with each other (for eg. RBK10 won't work seamlessly with RBK 50) and there are limitations like no single SSID, no direct Wi-Fi connectivity to main router etc. So anyone buying this solution should avoid having 2 different Mesh systems (although I did figure some work around to this using wired connection). 3. ORBI system comes with Bitdefender Anti Virus Ani Malware software built-in the device and can protect devices connected to the network. But the drawback is the system is free for one month after which wr have to pay around 5K per year for Bitdefender services. But by paying 4K we can have all our mobile and laptops covered with bitdefender solution without paying additional charges for each of them. 4. The parental control system via

My main complaint is with the app. It supposedly provides a function for monitoring individual devices on your Wi-Fi system but it never work. Firmware updates are also very difficult to get. There should be an easy way within the app to get updates or to get automatic updates.

My current Orbi mesh only had one satellite and with the addition of this second node or satellite, it not only vastly improved areas in the house with a weaker signal, but also seems to have improved performance with the other satellite as well. Please do not made the same mistake I have made. My Orbi WiFi has an heat issue so afte it runs for a while it stops working , so I have to unplug it let it rest the plug it back in, then it works. So I contact Netgear tell them the problem with it, they have me reconfigure the device BUT I had already had it working for them it was all repaired and end of the story and I’m stuck with a piece crap that doesn’t work right!

Overall I cannot give it a 5, just because of the cost. Its the most expensive unit at best buy, for a home unit, maybe should have spent the additional$$ for the commercial grade. My satellite stopped working so now I need to spend almost $200 for another one. Probably makes more sense to spend a little more to get a new system from a different brand that may last longer or not charge $50 to talk to tech support.

With this new set up I don't have to switch. Moving from room to room or from one end to the other end of the house I do not lose the signal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Happy with the AC3000 I've been using the AC3000 with one Satellite extender BRS50 for several months. The setup was easy using the ORBI Netgear App on my iPad. I recently added a second extender and I needed additional help from support. Netgear support was very knowledgeable and patient and all went well. The Orbi Wi-Fi gives me my 350mbps on all 3 devices. Would purchase it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much Much Better I've followed the discussions on the Netgear forum regarding a painful two months of handicapped Orbi hardware because of buggy firmware release by Netgear (that should have been better vetted by their engineers. I coincidently bought my 3 station orbi (and added a 4th this week) right around when Netgear releases firmware version 2.1.2.18. I have had none of the issues attributed to versions prior to 2.1.2.18. I'm an experiencing very good wifi speeds and coverage. The family is finally enjoying the internet speeds we pay our ISP for. Is it perfect. No. Netgear still has some issues with the GUI a user would use to periodically monitor their devices with but that is a purely cosmetic issue because it doesn't affect the underlying performance of the hardware. (To clarify, the firmware is referring to the software that runs on the Orbi hardware not the hardware itself...only one version of the hardware for each model of Orbi)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Orbi goes the distance Got an Orbi RBK50 to use in place of an R7000 Nighthawk. It's an older house with heavier plaster walls. The R7000 is theoretically faster IF you have line-of-sight to it, but in practice the Orbi kit reaches corners on different floors that the other router could not, and at 5 GHz. Notes: Setup via Ethernet is advised - use the app for simple tasks afterward. The Orbi works only with IE as the browser for certain tasks, unlike the R7000, which worked with any browser.

I didn't realize Apple stopped making the Airport Extreme and that made me explore other options. My Airport was outdated with older technology so I needed something newer. I did some extensive research for new wireless routers and I came across Orbi. Kept reading and reading reviews and always returned to Orbi. The size was a turn off but wow!! This net wifi setup has improved my home wifi great. Streaming is solid and the overall speed is solid too. Highly highly recommend Orbi. I wish I would have bought sooner!!

The Orbi signal was the only connection that was strong enough to establish a connection. I'm also getting 247Mbps in my office. That's a nice added bonus.

Read the reviews and user testimonials on the Orbi system and was convinced the Orbi system was the way to go! Has been flawless so far and the speed and coverage are amazing.

A little confusing at first using the GUI, but excellent support online forums. Only complaint so far is the router only has a built in 3 port switch, most routers have the standard 4, It required a little rewiring on my part.

A single WiFi system simply would not cut it and those range extenders cut the speed down drastically - not to mention I'd need several of them. After looking over the reviews of several mesh systems, I decided on the Orbi. I could not be happier. The setup was very quick and very simple. I am so glad I chose this system for my home - especially since I have quite a load on my system with several computers, several Nest cameras and thermostats as well as a security system. The Orbi performs flawlessly.

Once connected, they never have any issues. They give me my full speeds over WiFi (300 mbit. I'm not sure they would be able to handle the full speed of a gigabit connection, though. These are great consumer level devices that do mesh very well!

Easy to use app with instructions - there was a step where connecting with satellite didn't work right away but resetting the satellite fixed that. Connections have been consistently 300mbps down and 12mbps up on my Xfinity account which is supposed to be 250mbps up max

With the latest firmware update the satellites now can connect to each other rather than depending on the connectivity to the Base. I can walk around without losing Internet connectivity, yet when I interrogate the admin panel I find that I'm moving from one Orbi unit to another. This is the flexibility I've always wanted!

Set up router with one satellite and was able to join my generators wi-fi with a signal strength of -36, which is as strong as possible. One network for all 9 devices. Quite pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Orbi Exceeds My Expectations I had just about given up hope of being able to utilize the full potential of 1 GB service that I'm receiving through Cox Communications here in Scottsdale. It seemed like every router I tried to use could never give me more than 100 to 200 MBPS through my WiFi connection. Since my house is set up to only be Wi-Fi based I was looking for other options that could increase my speed and I found it in the Orbi. I now enjoy speed's throughout the house of up to 800 MBPS. I never have any streaming lagging or a reduction in my conductivity. I highly recommend the Orbi as a system to better cover large homes while also offering up to four ports for wiring various systems to the Internet . I considered the Linksys system but opted for the Orbi because of the increased number of available ports along with needing less 'towers' to provide effective coverage throughout my home.

I pay for 200 mb because I run my business out of my home. After hours of research and a few trips to Best Buy I purchased the Orbi RBS50, it is EXPENSIVE for a router. I was thinking this is getting returned if I don't see a huge jump in my internet speed. It took all of 10 minutes to get it configured and I was able to consistently get download speeds over 200 mb. Best Investment I have made in the past 5 years. MY office is upstairs on the opposite side of the house from, the router. Do yourself a favor and just go buy one you will not be disappointed. But don't buy the Mini !!!!

You require Support assistance the first time you do this. They then give you links to do it yourself, I think the option to change network names, etc, should be in the main App to be more user friendly.

The signal was slow, weak and unreliable. Then I got the Orbi. I connected the router, put the satellite in my room and turned it on. I was still reading the manual when I saw the purplish light. Uh-oh, that wasn't good. Maybe I was too far? I was still reading what to do when the light turned white. I'm connected! So I switched my wifi over to the router, and suddenly, 94 Mbps! And that was the wonder. The entire bandwidth to the house, wirelessly and flawlessly. The way wireless routers should be. MLB.tv has never been better!

I literally set up the 2 orbi's in 10 minutes and every inch has incredible WiFi. Which is very important when you have WiFi security cameras like Ring etc. they require a steady and strong signal to be reliable and this system was perfect!!!

We have tired extenders etc. Finally decided to start all over. Went with the Netgear CM500V modem and the RBK-50 router. The hardest part was talking/working with Comcast to take my old modem off and recognize the new modem. I tried to do it manually per the instructions but it did not finish completely. Had to call Comcast. After they finally fixed their side I set up the RBK50 router. It automatically set up in a flash. No problems, no phone calls. Good instruction. It worked just like it was suppose to. I was so excited after spending several hours with Comcast. The range is very good and strong. No problems connecting, no dropped signals, speed test has more than doubled.

Very pleased with the update from my 8 year old router. Highly recommended. Gotta make sure if you use a cable modem that has a WiFi network that it is disabled before setup as it seemed to cause some trouble with Orbi during setup.

The Orbi linked itself to my system with no problem; my iPhone connects to it, rather than the WiFi I have, and I get far fewer Facetime pauses and dropped calls. I have a 3200 sq. ft. ranch, and I get equally good reception throughout.

We have been so pleased with the Orbi system that it was a no-brainer when it came to adding another satellite - I didn't even consider a different system. It would have been nice to be able to purchase an extra satellite in a store but at least I was able to find it on Amazon,

Connection was simple and they provide MUCH better coverage in my house than the single router that Xfinity provided. I also like the ability to administer the routers remotely when I'm not at home. Only glitch, and not a tech issue, was the registration of the base unit with Netgear. I purchased a refurb unit and the base serial number seems to already be in use. I registered the satellite unit with no issue and assume it to be sufficient. I'm quite pleased with the Orbi WiFi routers so far.

The original satellite that came with the router always had trouble pairing and eventually never would pair. I had bought the upgraded tech support and they walked me through some troubleshooting and determined RMA was needed. The support folks were very patient and helpful. The new satellite came in a couple of days, even with all the holiday shipping delays. I followed the regular satellite install instructions and it was working in just a few minutes. 2.4 and 5 ghz devices started showing up paired to it and so far working well.

I lose my data connection for a few seconds each time I walk through my 900 sqft apartment. The satellites regularly lose connection to smart plugs. HomeKit does not respond to half of my accessories about 50% of the time. Not worth it.

I’ve never had in home network speeds like this. My ISP provides about 230 M service and I see 150-220 to my devices throughout my home. My entire family has been VERY impressed with this system. Easily supporting all of our devices and streaming HD and 4K TV. Well worth the investment.

It was more hassle to use the extenders then to just move into my wifi area. After hooking up the netgear products all the issues were resolved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Netgear Orbi One of the best upgrades to my network. I was having slow speeds and dropped internet in my 2500sq ft home. Speed Tests before install averaged 5mbps download and 10 mbps upload. After installing Orbi now running 112 mbps download and 15 mbps upload off Spectrum 100 MBPS system. Had a few hiccups with install and router finding satellite that required another reboot of my modem but is working like a champ now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Bought Three 12 Years Ago!! AMAZING!! So in roughly 2008 maybe 2009 I bought one base and two extenders. The Range on these things is amazing!! I have WiFi at the pool out back and even way out by the Pond, which to give you any idea is like three homes away. I don't ever think about them because they never ever go down. My wife works from home and so do I most of the time, with two teenagers. They support many security cameras, my son's online gaming, my daughter and her stuff, me constantly streaming YouTube as well as all of the regular TV all of which is via WiFi. Our provider is Spectrum supposed to be a Gig and we actually get around 500mbps. I highly recounted them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Effective range extender The Orbi extended the coverage of my Wi-Fi network, eliminating dead spots and providing faster and more reliable connections. It allowed me to plug in multiple devices in a location far away from my modem/router, making it an excellent solution for my larger home where the modem was originally installed in an office. The Orbi range extender is easy for me to set up and manage and had a way better interface than the originally provided wifi modem/router.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Random loose screw inside The satellite I received has a loose screw inside. It rattles around and you can see it through the bottom vents. The satellite connected fine, and there do not seem to be any issues with it. Because of that and I cannot hear or see any other parts loose inside, I think it must be an extra screw that somehow made it’s way in during assembly, and not a necessary screw that has come loose. Of course, I can’t be sure. I opted to avoid the hassle of returning it, and hope I don’t have a problem to surface in the future. I emailed this with a pic to customer support and did not receive a response.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 3rd Additional Satellite I have a personal recording studio in a detached garage about 100ft behind our house where we have a Orbi Mesh router with two satellites. I’ve run a CAT-5 cable between the studio and the house connecting one of the satellites to my newest Add-on in the studio, and now I’ve got GREAT WiFi service out there; fast enough to either upload or download audio files. Extremely happy!

The only issue we had was with setup and using the app to do it. Although it seemed easy enough to follow the prompts, it wouldn’t set up. We kept getting errors saying it wasn’t connected, couldn’t complete set up, couldn’t update properly, etc. I finally (after an hour or so troubleshooting) got on the website instead and completed setup that way, which worked well.
