Smarter router than expected
Let me start by saying that all three routers at home are Netgear. The router in question is just great! I can connect not only many devices, but what I like the most is the capability to navigate at 5G speed on my cellphone.

This router is set up as a barn access point. The barn is 34 feet long and this router is set up at one end of the barn. It barely reaches the other end so we will be adding another router to extend access and a larger outdoor access point for out building access.

Netgear AS1200 is a keeper
I've had this router only a short while but it has worked perfectly. Easy to use and setup using the app. For extra protection get the extended warranty from Amazon when buying the unit. You'll be satisified.

Our Linksys WRT1900AC became intermittent, showing Internet drops on Ethernet and Wi-Fi connections. Initially I was going to replace with an equivalent priced router, but the NETGEAR AC1200 caught my eye as it was on sale at Staples. Performance specs were not as spectacular as Linksys or other higher priced routers, but thought I would take a chance and try the AC1200. After using for three weeks now, I have to say I am extremely happy with the performance especially the Wi-Fi portion. My big Wi-Fi test, was to stream a Netflix movie on the big screen in our Master Bedroom, a distance away from the router. Well the video performed flawlessly along with very good screen resolution. In closing, I can certainly recommend as a good value and good performer.

The speed I always wanted!
This router was a gift from a friend who works in the IT industry, he set it up for me and I have been beyond happy with it since! My internet is consistent, fast, and finally reliable. I thought the spotty coverage was from Xfinity, but now I realize I had a bad router. Couldn't recommend this wonderful router more! Plus, it's small and easy to stash on a bookshelf so it isn't seen - with a strong enough signal that that doesn't cause issues!

Great performance for a great price.
I bought the Netgear R6120 in combination with a Netgear modem to replace the modem/router provided by my ISP, which was giving me problems. The R6120 was extremely easy to set up and I haven't had any connectivity issues since. The Genie mobile app is a nice bonus and works well. For a router that costs under $60, you can't beat the value. I would definitely recommend it as a good home network router.

We've had the AC1200 installed for about a week now and haven't had any problems. Easy to install and set up with Netgenie. Dual band allows us to spread the load, so to speak, with our 8 devices connected with no noticeable slowdown.

I bought this router at Walmart. It was super easy to install, it was literally three steps. Once you register your router you get instant internet connection. I am definitely not technologically inclined and even I can do it, I would recommend this product to anyone.

My 5 year old N600 kicked the bucket and I had to go on a "tour'de Walmart" run at 1130pm on a Wednesday night to find one in stock. Got it home, plugged it into my modem, and had it up and running in a matter of a few minutes. Great product, but hope I don't have buy another one for 5 years like the last one served me.

I had so many problems with having no connection, having to repair the connection, shut down and start up again, since installing the AC NETGEAR AC1200 Router I haven't had any problems. I also bought the NETGEAR AC1200 WiFi USB Adapter, my connection is awesome, the setup was so simple, I can't believe I waited so long to do this.

Having problems
My problem with this router that I have never had with any other router I have owned, is that it makes my tv freeze. I don’t think I will ever own another netgear router again. This thing is horrible, when you have to unhook it to be able to watch tv without it freezing on you that’s bad, my other router never did that. I just wish it hadn’t stopped working and needed replacing.

I recently purchased this router to replace a failing Spectrum router. Setup and configuration are be quick and easy. The speeds on both 2.4 and 5 are very good, comparable to what I had been getting with the Spectrum router. I live in a small house (1200 sq ft and am able to stream with Amazon Fire Sticks from 3 different rooms at the same time on 5 Ghz with no buffering. Overall, I am very pleased with this router and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good router to use in a small area without breaking the bank.

So glad we got this router, with all the devices in our home sometimes the tv wouldn’t work because of the speed until we switch to Netgear!

Great router but I wish there were more in the app or even on the router itself. I had trouble connecting it at first but after that, it was almost seamless. Also, I had some trouble connecting it to the app I had to hook up to a laptop and codes that were not right even on the back of the router were the correct codes could have been. Other than a few issues that could be fixed, Great Product.

Great router, easy install, great range.
Bought this router for my grand mother's house cuz her belkin quit. I'm so glad I bought this router works perfectly and came with a name and password preinstalled, the range is fantastic and the and since I mostly work out of the garage when I'm there I still get good signal. Very please with this product and would buy again.

Great Router, Although Somewhat Lacking
Overall it’s a great router, especially if you are just using it as a plug and play. If you are looking for features such as DynDNS and those “extra” features, you might find this router lacking.

High quality product
I purchased this router to replace one that was cutting our service in and out. Since hook up with this one we haven't had a single interruption in service and at many times have 3-4 items running on Wi-Fi with no slowing down. We also have a large 2 story farm house and It covers the entire house, plus outside. It wasn't the top end model, but she operates like it is. I highly recommend this product.

I had been having problems with my previous router. It would frequently lose its signal and if more than 1 device was used, the internet would slow to a crawl. Since I switched to the Netgear AC1200 router, all of the problems are gone. It is a great product and I would recommend anyone use this product if they are having problems with their internet.

The router works great. The actual set-up was easy. However, the little pamphlet that comes with the router misleads you (on page 1 into thinking you need to install an app on your cell phone in order to get set-up instructions. This is not the case. On page 3 it tells you the location of the router name and password required to connect your computer to the router. It is located on the protective cover that you remove from the router when you unpack it.

Poor install support and logic
No manual included not even a quick start!! A web link to a "quick start" manual of 156 pages!! Even making a password is impossible. Following their complicated instructions to the letter repeatedly would not work. Everything is buried several layers deep in a complicated process. My old routers were plug and play with a simple password all done with a one page simple manual enclosed. I would never buy netgear again. Netgear also has no contact information of value as you are referred to old Q and A rather than real answer to a particular question you might want to ask. Very, very frustrating experience as a month later it still Does not work.

Easy setup. Almost got paranoid because it was so easy. Love the phone app. I love disconnecting my kids from internet from work. They have learned to do homework first before gaming. Ha! My new speed upgrade
My cable provider sent me a new modem. My old router was not able to keep up with the new speed, so I bought an AC1200 router. Now, my systems work in the blink of an eye. My law office coordinates with the various filing systems and information sources in an instant. My wife, who is a school teacher, is able to connect with the school administrative systems as if she was in her classroom. Everything works as fast as the demo in the electronic store.

So recently my grandparents power went out at their house. At that time, they had a Belkin wifi router. Once we got to power up and running again the router never turned back on we tried everything to solve the problem but it never turned on so it was time for a new router. We went to Walmart the day before Christmas Eve and found out Netgear router and heard nothing but good reviews so we were convinced to purchase it. As soo as we got it we drove out my grandparents house and set it up which was a very smooth process thanks to the app! The wifi works a lot faster then the Belkin router they had and I would recommend it to anyone!!!

Significant improvement
A long overdue upgrade from my old router. I was actually surprised at the improvement in speed. Although it’s just me here with only two devices, I like the option for a separate sign in for quests. The range is very good throughout the whole house of thick walls. When and if summer ever comes, I hope I’ll get improvement out on the back deck as well. Super easy set up and installation. Great little unit.

Bought this router January 6, 2020. I love this router! We ended up getting this router because the one we had wasnt dual band and was a few years outdated. We thought it was our internet providers internet acting up. Our internet kept going out multiply times a day and we would have to restart it and we couldn't play games with friends. Once we hooked up this router, our internet speed was faster. We have not yet had to restart it and our internet speed is so much better then before. I highly recommend getting this router if your internet is always acting up. It worked for us and we're gamers and movie watchers. We're happy customers here

Night and day difference with this router. We stream Netflix from our Apple TV. Our router is in another room. Our previous router really didn't push our WiFi that far to where we were, but this one probably pushes it to our next door neighbors no problem

Upgraded to the AC1200 to improve security and speed. I could not get the router to connect to the internet. Although it was a bit challenging to get through to customer support, once done the representative competently and politely guided me through the process. Speed test indicates my uploads are 3X as fast as my older Netgear router and security is much stronger. I recommend this router for its value and technical sophistication.

Steady wifi service
I had been using another more expensive wifi router at my home, but at my office I bought a $30 netgear wifi router and never had any trouble with it. The router I had at home gave me constant trouble. Every weekend it slowed down and I kept having to call tech support and they would help me get faster service that would last a week, then would slow down again. Since getting a $60 netgear router for my home I've had steady service for my computer, my samsung note and my wife's iphone. Very pleased to have finally found router's that work!

This router was a step down from what I was looking toward getting and I almost didnt get it but glad I did! No more gateway fees from my internet provider! This little guy is perfect for Comcast Blast Pro Teir customers and those with lower plans as well. Paired nicely with my Netgear CM400 cable modem too!

Better than my TP-Link Ac1200 db
I was sent a bad firmware that bricked my TP-Link AC1200. Was going to take a long time to solve so purchased Netgear AC1200. The range for signal strength was better than the TP-Link and faster. There was minimal setup & configuration and I was back up and better than before. With past Netgear units I've never had a bad firmware update! Will definitely stay away from TP-Link in future and probably stay with Netgear products!

Increased my download speeds by 20-30 mbps on average vs the modem/router from Comcast. Went from lagging frequently while gaming online to almost never lagging. Supports multiple devices being connected quite easily and without degrading the connection. Great investment and totally worth the money.

Had an older (4 years old maybe linksis router always been a big fan of linksys but this one got slow and unreliable. Signal would cut out in the middle of a Netflix episode. This new betgear router has extremely fast download speeds on my phone pc and Roku streamer simultaneously. It's excellent would definitely recommend.

We upgraded to the NETGEAR AC1200 because our old router's signal was unreliable. My laptop frequently lost connection while I was working, a problem particularly bad during video calls. Since we upgraded I haven't lost connection once, and we're very pleased with the speed. I also like the two connection options that allow us to choose between faster (5G and longer range.

Streaming video while running the 5G gets somewhat laggy, but not terrible. Haven even had to restart this router since purchase in December 2017. Look forward to more Netgear products in the future.

Great router
My previous router was outdated and not very secure, so I bought this one. I was really afraid from past experience that the new one would be hard to set up, but it was a snap. I have a small home so I thought the 5GHz would work throughout the house but it did not, though the 2.4GHz is plenty fast enough for my needs. For the price, this is overall a good router.

Even though I'm not very computer literate, the Netgear R6120 was very easy to set up and works great with my TV streaming stick, home computer and smart phone! This is my second Netgear wireless wifi and have recommended it to friends and family who are looking for a new router. The only negative I could find is the on/off.button is a little difficult for my fat fingers.

Didn't want to spend an arm and a leg but also didn't want cheap (been there, done that. Dual band / speed is nice. Some of my devices see the 2.4 GHz band while others see the 5GHz band. Everything easy to connect and reconnects when in range.

This was very easy to set up! We have 2 laptops, 1 wireless printer, 2 cell phones, 2 tablets, 1 smart TV, 1 blu-ray player and this router can handle it all with more to spare. Nothing runs slow; there is no buffering etc. I had everything set up in about 10 minutes. I would highly recommend.

This router is great! I replaced an 8 year old Cisco-Linksys router with this AC1200. I have better coverage and speed for all of my devices, which includes my security cameras. The installation was very easy and took 30 minutes from start to finish.

Was using a Netgear n300 and noticed a slowing in speeds and range over the last year. Do to budget had to wait a while to upgrade. Then finally broke down over Christmas and started looking for something else. Went to Walmart and asked the electronics guys about maybe a range extender but he recommended a new router altogether so he showed me a few options and I got the NETGEAR ac1200 smart router. Was easy to install and setup. Boy what an upgrade, thank you NETGEAR for making great easy user friendly products.

I live in the middle of nowhere and have meh speeds out here. The router is in the room furthest from the living room where we spend most of our time. That being said this little router pumps out a pretty strong and reliable signal to our phones and my Xbox. Even through all the walls and other obstructions it'll actually reach out to the outside of the house on the other end. Extremely satisfied.

I am very happy with this Netgear Wi-Fi router. I preface this to say, while I had high expectations, I ordered a range extender, just in case, for streaming Netflix and Amazon Prime to the master bedroom. My older Netgear router didn't get the job done, so I hedged my bet with the range extender anyway. I knew I could easily return it if I didn't need it, even though I would have to pay shipping. As luck would have it, there was a shipping delay on the booster, the AC1200 proved to be more than adequate to get the signal to the back of the house and streaming has been flawless. I canceled the booster because it just wasn't necessary and didn't have to pay shipping. Woohoo!

I went from a 600 to a 1200 and WOW!! The 600 has been great but after several years of use it was showing wear so, of course staying with NETGEAR, I purchased the 1200. EXCELLENT decision!!!! Recommended it to my son and he was blown away also. NETGEAR is and will always be #1!!!

I was streaming in a house of 12, and always was always lagging. Videos would never load. I could never complete my homework. I would get halfway through a test, and i would get kicked out and wouldnt be able to restart. I got the netgear router and since then ivebhad excellent outstandable service. Never glitches, never waiting for a video to load, and most importantly, I don't get kicked out if my online classes.

Extremely easy to setup. The Nighthawk app is a great addition not only for setup but for monitoring as well. My previous Netgear router lasted over 12 years only to suffer an unexpected water damage death do to a leaking water pipe. Thank you for the great products.

This router is perfect for the average person. The 2.4 ghz and 5ghz is nice! The 5 ghz helps with streaming and videos. Also very simple to set up, if your looking at this review its prolly because your interested in it. All I can say it worth the money!

Purchased this router to replace the 10 year old verizon supplied router. Easy setup and love the functionality of the NightHawk app that goes with it. We have over 20 devices connected to this unit. The unit also has a small footprint making it easy to tuck away in a bookshelf. I placed the router in the middle floor of a three level home and get decent coverage over the entire 2400 sqft. Highly recommend.

We've only been using our Netgear AC1200 Smart WiFi Router for a few weeks now, but it is doing its job. At times we've had up to 3 wireless devices streaming data and there was no latency. On 2 occasions, the programs we were watching froze up. We thought it was either a problem with the router or TV, but it was a problem with the ISP. We would recommend this router to others.

This is the easiest fastest router I have ever used, simply plug into modem and have wifi ! Amazingly simple.. They have easy to reach tech support if you need it. I would rate ten stars but only goes to a five star rate system. Great product.

we've been having wifi service problems. We found that it was the wifi provider, but partially also the router. After changing provider, it was better, but not great. We then changed to the NETGEAR AC1200 Dual Band Wi-Fi router, and FINALLY, we have reliable, consistent service!

Working from home and sharing your internet with young gamers can be a big challenge , especially when they claim to be off the wireless but really are not - This router gives me full view and control. I can block the offenders and take my bandwidth back when I need to I love it .

Old router died after 8 years. Replaced it with a Netgear ac1200. Easy hookup; Ethernet connect for my laptop; WiFi for 3 tablets and a chromecast for TV.... all working great. I will recommend this router to my friends.

I've had my router for going on a month now. We have Netflix and we have and Xbox one that I play. The router supports everything very well even if both of our phones are streaming and we are watching Netflix and playing the Xbox. No lagging or worrying about the WiFi just cutting out. The set up is very user friendly as well. And the app that you can install lets you manage and track everything... overall an excellent product and you won't break the bank.

I bought this for my parents, who know nothing about routers. My mom is 87 and dad 92. I needed something easy to set up for them and easy to use. This was perfect!! They have a very large house and now every room my mom can connect to internet. An added bonus, I live across driveway and I even get a WiFi signal from their house!

Easy to configure, the 5ghz option is great for connecting my digital mixer in crowded locations that has many people with cellphones which with my old router experienced dropouts but not with the AC1200.

This wi-fi router works great, even in other rooms in the house. I have no problems live streaming Netflix, while downloading on my laptop and even printing. I can have several things (roku, couple of phones, computer) all going at once without a problem with reception on any of them.

After 3 monthes of continuous spotty connectivity, I decided my 5 year old Netgear router needs to be retired. I had done some research and was about to buy a different router 2x more expensive, but saw this one last minute and decided to give it a shot. It's doing everything I want it to - stays connected, has a strong signal, and was relatively easy to set up. I'm not exactly sure how long it will last before it gets retired too, but currently it's doing great and I'm happy with the purchase.

When it was time to buy a new router my biggest concern was setting it up without my son-in-laws help. (He's an IT professional. This was so easy I just had to call hi and tell him I did it on my own. I took all the cables from the back of the old one and put them in the corresponding spots on the new one and turned it on. Done. I did even use the setup guide. SOOOO EASY.

I upgraded from a netgear n600 to the ac1200 and couldn't have been happier. The signal is amazing. It reaches throughout my house from basement to 2nd floor with no issues. Really fast connection considering there are a lot of devices using the same wifi. My old router would constantly disconnect or give a weak signal, but this new router has everyone in my house happy.

Think that stepping up my router game wouldn't help my internet download speed but maybe my file transfer on lan. But I had no choice my modem router combo gave out on the router side and I had to upgrade and I've been pleased so far less buffering and less ruberbanding while playing the Xbox one

didn't expect this, but my mmorpg on-line gaming is faster now! Screen load changes are much faster now. that alone was worth the price (which was less than the others on the shelf in its class. I would recommend this as a first choice to buy. don't have for yourself the disappointment of buying another brand that seemed nice. just by this net gear wifi dual band router. Its worth every penny I spent. thank you for reading. go buy it soon you will like it too, I think!

Faster and more reliable
Updated a 5-yr old router with this one. Easy to set up, although I had to read about the dual bands. This has a longer range, pages load faster, and I haven't had to reboot it in the week since I installed it, so I'm happy.

One great unit.
I and my wife Have tablets and smartphones. And a Roko video box, well by Jimmy this 1200 net gear works wonderfully. I had 750 was alright but since we got our tablets we needed a boost in range and it did. I can say for my wife and I were very happy with it. Thank You, Netgear.

A Decent Improvement
For relatively the same cost as a similar Belkin unit, the Netgear AC1200 model R6120 has so far seemed a significant sight better in performance. Setup and management are incredibly easy and user friendly.

As with any new equipment, there is some worry about getting it installed properly. I can say without resevation, installing the NetGear AC1200 was a breeze. The instruction were easy to follow and in about five minutes I had everything hooked up and working.
I was also impressed with the WiFi signal strength with the AC 1200. I now have excellent WiFi connection all through the house - both upstairs and downstairs and even the basement.
I couldn't be happier with my decision to purchase the NetGear AC1200 WiFI Router.

I bought this router with very little expectations, I just wanted a router that worked. But, I am absolutely pleased with this router. It was incredibly easy to set up, the app is simple and easy to use. The only issue I have had with it was getting the router to connect to my modem, which wasn't the netgear router's fault, my isp made it incredibly hard to get my internet turned on, but the router did everything it could to work right away. Love this router.

Horrible Product Do Not Buy
I have owned my Router for 5 months. Now it won’t work for uploading. I contacted their support to find out that you only get 3 months of free support. I had to pay $50 for support now. The router itself was only $80. Why would I pay $50 for support. I would not recommend buying from a company who doesn’t support their product. Especially for longer than 3 months. I am sure I am out the cost, but I will never purchase another Netgear product because of this.

I am currently working from home so tu the pandemic. I purchased this router in hopes that it would be able to provide service to my work computer, personal laptop, two Xbox’s (to keep the kids entertained and much more. It has done exactly that! I love that I can see who is using our WiFi their the NETGEAR App and I can disconnect the kids from the internet from the App. I highly recommend this router!

Smooth Install - Works Excellent
Most of my home is wired network, needed this to drive my Roku box(es. Added bonus as a second internet connection for my Laptops, and now even my Tablet!
I live in a well of signal void for Wifi and Cell access out here in the country, so this allows my devices at the house to be useful anywhere in the home.
Piggy backed this off of my DSL router. I don't use smart phones so I couldn't use the Nighthawk app for setup.
I used a browser connection to reach the AC1200. The only small hickup was the IP address was the same for my DSL router as default for this device on the wired side, but I was able to get into the setup via the URL name and not the IP address. Not sure how it resolved that but came right up. :)
This thing is amazingly simple to setup and use.
I definitely recommend this product!

I bought a Belkin AC1200 router in August of 2017 and had nothing but issues with it. There were over a handful of nights I spent on the phone with Belkin and my isp to fix the spotty internet (between 0 and 19 mbps when I pay for 100) we were getting. I got a whole new modem from my isp and got the house completely rewired since I was convinced that my problem had to be my old connections/modem and not my brand new router. Wrong! After running out of options with my isp, I figured it must have been the router so I did my research and read that netgear routers rarely have issues. This router in particular had 4.3 stars on Amazon with over 3,000 reviews. The first day I got it I was getting around 60 mbps from Wi-Fi which is really good since the isp speeds are based on being hardwired to the router/modem. It works throughout my whole house and even lets me steam movies without any buffering while my roommate facetimes his girlfriend and streams NHL games.

The original router was still working well but I replaced it because my Motorola modem bit the dust and I wanted to make sure the router would be up to date. Cheapversion of the NIght Hawk
I have had it for about 2 weeks I live in Phnx AZ so we use Cox Cable for ISP- Live in a 600 square foot apt 2nd floor - with three hot spots behind me - and this unit replaced Tp Link wifi router and and Tp Linkd Touch screen desktop extender that was about a year old - Intall was easy - had to call customer service - ( they spoke english to fine out were the WPS button was -(and that was the only issue I had ) Installed the unit - (I use a KODI BOX -2 Amazon taps ,tablet and fire tv , Hp Laptop , and tablet ) I was afried of needing a extender for the back room - that was not they case - after I got every thing hooked up - I was off and running faster than the old routers -was not disapointed in the unit -Like I stated before the only setup issue was the WPS button and where is was - but that was all - If you dont want to spend 200 plus on a router this will do what you need - WOULD RECOMEND HIGHLY !!!!!!- HOPE THIS HELPS

Great Device
We recently switched to this router after having issues with our Belkin Router. The Netgear Router allows us to get the speeds we pay for, has better signal, and has the antennas that we can direct to improve connections of wireless devices through our apartment.

I am not a techy person. but when I called my Internet carrier, they told me to just get a router and connect. When I went to the store, grab nether AC 1200 smart wi-fi, all I did was connect it and 1-2-3 and go. Sooo happy.

Easy to set up
I loved how easy my router was to set up. I just took it out the box and plugged it in. I also enjoy the Nighthawk app that allows me to turn off and prioritize wifi on certain devices.

One Word, Simple
The worst part about purchasing a router is the difficulty of setting it up. Thankfully Netgear has made it fast and simple for anyone to setup. First off they give you clear instructions with pictures of how to connect it to the modem. Second the onscreen setup easier does all the work for you. I would definitely recommend to a friend.

I was having issues with my last router and internet service glitching out on my wifi, and I bought this as a replacement. Completely worth every penny! Complete signal, full bars, no more dropped signal! Works with all my devices old and new!

Needed new router
My old router was about ten years old and was just too slow. I started playing Xbox in my living room and needed faster WIFI. The new Netgear router is two and half times faster. I also have two cell phones, a tablet, and Roku connected with no slowdown. I chose Netgear because of the good ratings, and am pleased.

Meeting my expectations
I purchased this equipment from the recommendation of my internet installer. It's more than reasonable in price and the service has been great since bought. Not to mention the range, I can be outside my apartment, and still connected a good 100ft away. If you want a reasonable price router I say go for this one.

Netgear wifi router
I love the ability to turn off devices via an app on my phone that's connected to my router. It was simple plug and play which is great considering laptops now and days don't have CD drives. It's very user friendly and easy to use.

Easy Setup for low price!!

HAVE ONLY HAD IT ABOUT A WEEK, BUT IT IS STRONGER THAN THE ONE I HAD BEFORE. IT WORKS 2 COMPUTORS AND AN INTERNET RADIO. DISTANCE IS ABOUT 60 FEET.

Great, fixed all my connection issues
Was having connection issues with Ps4 to COD WW2 and other general issues with streaming which are no longer an issue after upgrading. Upgrading was quick and painless and the range is much better than the combined device I was using before.
