Rated 5 out of 5 by from Could be better. I had a life proof on my old phone (galaxy S5) and it was probably the best case I have had, so when I got the new S8 I knew I should get a lifeproof. Below are some of the pros and cons I found while using my new Galaxy S8 in a lifeproof case. Pros: The case does a good job at keeping the sleekness of the phone. The screw plug is a lot better than the plain push plug the S5 had. The fingerprint sensor works great. Cons: The screen protector isn't flush so you have to push hard to make contact with the phone screen. Where the front and back meet there are a lot of cracks, looks like whoever cut the pieces did a poor job and making them straight. The back of the phone still isn't flat, you can not use it as a level. The battery door closure opens on its on a lot, which could cause water and dust leakage. The rubber is already starting to break off. If I can I will update with pictures

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loving it so far I've got a bit of a learning curve trying to learn to use my S8 but this case is awesome! Super thin compared to my old one. I love the built in screen protection. I haven't noticed any issues with access to buttons or my fingerprint scanner. My camera still works awesome through the case. I haven't tested the waterproof aspect just yet but it's been a solid case for me so far. I made the switch to Lifeproof and may never go back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Aweful I preordered the galaxy s8 case and recieved it last saturday. This case is terrible. It doesnt fit the phone. There is a gap between the screen and the protector. This is not the quality i am used to. My lifeproof case for my s7 fit perfectly. This one is basicly usless. I spent too much money for there to be a gap which will cause shock inside the case. And the finger print reader doesnt allow me to use my finger print through the plastic. I plan on returning this case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Case So far this seems to be a good, durable case. It is also sleek and attractive, not big and bulky like similar cases. I have two small qualms. The screw in the headphone jack is hard to remove. Perhaps a notch could be added so that it would be unscrewed with a tool or a coin. Also, the Galaxy's wrap around screen does not mesh as well with the screen protector; there is a slight void. In order to press keys, buttons, etc. on the edge of the screen, you must push down through the screen protector, not simply tap the area. In all, this seems to be a good case, though I will not know for sure until it has to prove itself .

It scratches easy though and sticks to the screen making it hard to see in certain light. It's also a little difficult to hold with one hand compared to the rubber sleeved otter box. It is more sleek though which I like.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worst lifeproof case I've owned. This case, the Fre for the GS8, doesn't fit snug enough so there is gap between the screen and the infinity edge. This is extremely annoying when trying to push or swipe something on the edges of the screen. Also, there isn't enough room around the fingerprint scanner on the back so unless you place your finger just right, it takes multiple attempts to get your fingerprint recognized.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Case seals but doesn't fit phone well I purchased this a few weeks ago and the case seals great but because the phone is slightly curved the case doesn't fit very well. We had to make the keyboard smaller and you have to press hard to get to any of the buttons. You can feel the plastic on the front of the case pushing in and out as you type or go to any apps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More Bounce to the Ounce Finally! FRE for S8! I didn't wait for cool colors, not that there is anything wrong with slate, but I like to stand out. Back to the bounce, Since S8 has an edge screen, the FRE screen protector has to wrap around it, but it's a bit bouncy. When typing or swiping on the keyboard, I have a hard time with the letters closer to the edges like the A-Q-1-M. Prior to FRE I had a great military grade screen protector that laid flat on the screen. I wonder if I should have gotten a lifeproof without the plastic bounce?? But I love how slim FRE is. Such a conundrum. The GOOD thing is...FRE does BOUNCE off the ground! Ha! I dropped it onto concrete from 4'. Top left corner hit first then the bottom left corner. All is well. No damage done. I had even done the water test before putting my phone in the case and it seemed ok so hopefully if it ever bounces into the water and I actually find the slate color where I dropped it, it will be fine too. Love the bounce/hate the bounce...it's a love hate relationship for me.

I will say, with the S8 having curved edges on the screen, it is difficult to get the screen protector flush against the screen, which makes it hard to use some of the buttons near the edge. Overall, a great case that protects my phone.

It made a terrifyingly loud sound, but my phone and the case are in perfect condition. My daughter took hers into the pool to take pictures, this is probably the longest she's had an undamaged phone! We own 4 Lifeproof cases.

It's survived dropping, getting wet and, even, the depths of my handbag... Having a glass screen protector on my S8 proved a challenge, as it didn't sit flush with the screen when I had the phone in a case. The Lifeproof case makes it so much easier, as it sits flush with the screen and protects the phone all in one go! Buy this case! Honestly, it's an investment that pays for itself.

It overheats when charging, not good contact with screen, poor front protection and charge as if they were top tier product. Plastic feels cheap too. I felt in the "expensive is better" trap.

The only thing that I have problem with is the clear cover is loose and It makes it hard to type on and it has scratch marks on the front of it and I've only had it in my pocket or purse in a side pocket by itself. I have had it for 10 days.

My only issue is the screen protector, which is very much necessary, makes a clicking sound when you type and it makes the screen a titch unresponsive. If you can get past the clicking it's good. Customer service was above and beyond though. I will definitely stick with this brand from now on for the customer service alone.

I called customer service because the clear plastic face was sitting to high. When I was touching the phone face it would click and lift away from the phone making it difficult to use the screen without having to press the letters or numbers several times in order to make contact with the phone screen. The person I spoke with was extremely helpful and said it was a defective screen and sent a new one free of charge. I haven't received the new case yet but I hope the screen of the case fits securely to the screen of the phone. The case is still way to expensive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wouldn't even take it out of the box So very patiently I waited for close to 2 months after the release of the Samsung S8 for the only case that I trusted to house my new phone. Used your product before with my S4 and loved it. 5 years that phone was in it's case only to be removed for the periodic overall cleaning, but now that I'm done using it I pulled the phone out and it looks practically new. I can't say enough about how much I like this product. It's not bulky and it fits the infinity screen perfectly. Would I recommend this product? Without a doubt absolutely yes.

Was surprised and excited when it showed up on 6/5 only to be let down once it was put on. I have an s7 for my work phone and the lifeproof case fits like a glove. The s8 case, not so much. While the case itself is fine, the front screen cover isn't tight. There is a go between the screen and the shield making it very loud to text. It is also very loud due to having to push the plastic cover onto the screen to make a connection. You can't simply tap the screen w the case on, you have to actually push them together which is very annoying. I could go on but I'm already sick of typing out this many characters bc of the clicking noise it makes. I will be returning mine. Wish I hadn't waited to be disappointed.

This case is great, except on the curves, it bubbles on the top part of the protective case causing issues with accessing some of the phones features. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Review of my Samsung Galaxy s8 for a 1 Week Use I like the case so far for my Galaxy S8 since it is highly protective and also waterproof, drops, dust, snow proof, but what I don't like of this case is its touch sensitivity on regular uses since I always have to tap hard to get the thing I am trying to touch. Also since the Galaxy S8 is curved the protective layer doesn't fit the edges so I feel like I am pushing the plastic down instead of getting the edge panels and Bixby. It is sturdy but needs some more improvements to make this a good case for everyday use and also outside.

The one thing I have noticed is you have to press ever-so-slightly harder on the curved edges but you get used to it.

I received my replacement and had very poor touch screen sensitivity and no one could hear me when on speaker phone. Waiting for my next replacement and I hope it functions better the 3rd time around.

I have had many other Samsung phones with lifeproof cases on them and this one is my least favorite by far. The screen protector is to far lifted off that it makes typing even the shortest sentences a chore. I think the design needs some work to eliminate the room between the case and the phone.

It's easy to grip, which is my issue with the slick S8, and not bulky or heavy. I've already cracked my screen as well as the back but I'm hoping this case will prevent further damage.

The case is very thin and lightweight while still passing the water test. The only complaint I have is regarding the fingerprint scanner. It's difficult to do with the case on. I have long nails and time cutout is so small that I have to try five or six times to get in finger on there just right. I did not have this problem with my previous punkcase.

Although the delay between hardware release and case release seemed long, the final product is worth it. I feel much more confident using my phone in all circumstances with the case, rather than without. Only glitch appears to be that phone (without case) would get notifications, display them, then return to "always on" screen with time/date. With case, the notifications stay on, with increased brightness/power consumption. I have to manually put phone back into "sleep" mode.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best case on the market for the S8 I recently got this case in the mail way earlier than expected and have been using it for 3 days or so and it's been awesome. I submerged it for 30 minutes like the instructions state and it held without an issue and no leaks. This is the only case I can find with this much protection and that has a built in screen protector. All the functions of the phone still work with this case on so no worries there. I got one for me and my nephew to use on our S8's and you can definitely tell the quality and how nice this case is and it is worth every penny in my opinion. We'll see how it holds up over time but I have no doubt it will as I have had this case on previous devices with no issues.

I got the Punkcase back in May because the Lifeproof had not come out with the FRE yet. It was a great case love the style and durability. But by September the finger scanner had a leak and the case he a crack by the charger. So I just got the FRE and it is nice but there are some specs that need to be worked on. The case is much thinner and the screen more accessible on the edges but what other reviews said are true. The edges of the cover do not hug the screen perfectly so hitting the P or Q, 1 or 0 is difficult. But like anything you adapt. I have had Lifeproofs for a very long time and they are worth every penny. Very happy with my purchase. Though the need more color options. Not a fan of neon colors.

The new case is sleek and does not add much to the overall dimensions of the phone and the easier charger access is a welcome addition.The one criticism is that the edges of the new phone are not as well protected as the older models. There could be a larger strip at the sides to protect the screen especially for those who use their phones outdoors while working.

Put the case on the day after I bought it and within an hour, (fitted securely in a car phone holder the screw off cap for the headphone jack snapped off. Literally unscrewed it and left it alone for 40 minutes while i drove to work. I'd get it if i had been rough with it but i hadnt. Not had a problem with my iPhone lifeproof, case which lasted 2 years. This one for Samsung S8 broke straight away. I emailed lifeproof customer service, who asked straight away for my delivery number but haven't bothered to email back and this is a week later so not great customer service either. I still like the case but without the screw cap, it's not waterproof. I expected to have more than an hour of protection for £67

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Day to day. I bought myself and my partner the FRE case for the galaxy s8. So far i have dropped my phone twice without any damage (without the case the drops would of broke my phone's screen/back). The screen protector isn't scratch resistant and doesn't quite sit flush with the screen on the edges however I am fully confident it will do the job. The back of the case I think would benefit from some rubberized corners like the front of the case but I think the added bulk it would bring wouldn't be to everyone's taste. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend the case to friends and family. I just wish the price was a little less.

I have to make sure I type my words with a p because the screen protector doesn't sit on the letter p. When swiping to text, wrong words will come up because our doesn't pick up the p.

Speaker gets lower quality because of case water proofing (expended my only gripe is that the volume keys sometimes don't match up with the physical phone rocker for volume and you have to take the case apart and readjust to correct.

I'm a firefighter and I normally take my phone out of my pocket before I put my gear on but i forgot yesterday. I got soaked and my phone was also soaked. When I took it out of the case my phone was still dry, not a drop of water.

I have had this since the launch & what i have found is that on the round edges of teh cover it is raised therefore the face panel is not actually touching the phone like all other models.The way around it is to press harder on the edged letters on the keypad & hope that you have applied enough pressure to pick up the letter / symbol / whatever.

I did try using a tempered glass screen protector as well as that is what was recommended and still having the same issue. Not recommended for this phone

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rough Use I had a LifeProof case for my old Galaxy and the case held through a rough two years. I got one of the other leading brands first, which was a mistake because my screen cracked with my first drop with the case. I decided it was not that important to have an uncovered screen for my phones protection and it was better. I am planning a study abroad and wanted to make sure that my phone would be protected for the long trip. The case has held through many drops in the short time just like last time. There are some things I would change about the case, like the separation of the screen and cover, and the different color choices. I also like the headphone part because it is a twisted cover unlike the old rubber one. It always seems like they pay better attention to the iPhones over Androids with updates and and such and I wish they could have more colors or personalize colors, but I did not get the case for style but protection which it holds up to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just ok I bought the case a few weeks ago. The case itself is nice looking. The screen protector leaves a lot to be desired. It has too much space between the protector and the phone, so it is not as sensitive as it should be at times. The case makes the speakers muffled, I guess because of the waterproofing. Also, I use the fingerprint scanner everyday so since the case partially covers it, I have to try several times at times. Overall I wouldn't buy another case if these features aren't fixed.

Lifeproof came recommended from my coworker and I must say it has worked out wthe ell. The case is well designed, sturdy, and of great quality. The only thing I don't like about it is that plastic seems to be raised off the screen near the edge of the phone. Recently I purchased another S8 for a family member and included the Lifeproof case with it.

Also the screen I wish the screen Protection fit a little more snugly. Has a bit of space. When texting makes a bit of noise. Also when trying to see notifications when the screen is horizontal makes it hard to scroll down and see it. Have to turn the phone back to normal in order to see the notifications on top screen.

Its a rough plastic feel but I get no grip on it. It fits my phone well except I took the case off one time and it now has an oily/rainbow colored spot between the case and phone screen that no amount of cleaning has fixed it. All it does is move to different spots on the screen. Other than that it holds up well and I would buy another one. Way better than Otterbox

I am glad I have a phone case that actually protects the entire phone, instead of just the back of the phone. I like the sleek look it has compared to other cases. One thing though, the screen protector has a gap between the phone screen and the screen protector. Not too big of a deal but just a heads up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pricey but reliable Love these cases. Waterproof holds true. On a tubing trip riding tubes on a steady current with friends...i fell asleep with my phone on my chest. At the end i got off the tube not noticing and my galaxy s7 wrapped in a lifeproof case fell into the river with a heavy current under 3-4' of water. I didnt notice till i was standing on shore. I rushed upstream thinking the current would tumble it downstream and catch in a sandbar......no luck...the tube rental employee told me my phone was heavy enough, it would of sank within a few ft. Of where i dropped it...i went back to where i jumped off the tube with friends. Fighting the current for 30min. Or so sliding on sharp rocks with bare feet, i finally felt my phone underneath my foot. I pulled some frantic dive maneuver that probably looked ridiculous and emerged with my phone. Working perfectly. Some condensation residue inside but that was it. That was summer 2017.i still have the phone. Ive bought one for my new s8 and it seems just as durable. Love your case but 50-60$ would be more consumer friendly

There were two little residue marks on inner side of screen but this came of with multiple rubs from supplied cloth. I had never come across this with previous cases.

The touch screen is very difficult to use especially on the edges, for example, the p and q keys. The case was a job to fit and to get the buttons to line up and if I keep the phone in my pocket for any length of time ie half an hour or more, I get moisture between the phone screen and the screen protector. There are other cases out there just as good for half the price.

I however didn't feel the S8 case was a perfect fit unlike lifeproof was with my old iPhone. However it is only minimal and overall a great case and worth spending the money.

I now have my replacement phone from Asurion (second claim in less than 2 months) I no longer have my protection plan, so it was time to double protection. I love how sleek the case is and just got my eazy mount for my vehicle.

I don't really expect any different with this, HOWEVER, the one negative thing is that the plastic on the front doesn't actually touch the screen all the way so I have to press extra hard to type letters.

Yvette appears to be some minor space between the front cover and the phone itself. It's a but annoying when trying to use the edge panel. When you try to bring up the edge screen, you have to really push down on your phone to use it. Again it's minor but it's definitely not the same as not having a cover on the phone. It makes you worry a bit. I guess it's better than having a cracked screen.

I have dropped a couple of times and the phone is absolutely fine. Haven't tried to submerge... The bad: The case is really smooth on the back, which makes it somewhat slippery (which led to drops. IMHO, the back should be made of rubber instead of plastic. Understand would make it slightly thicker, but not much.

I hate it.my friend git one and has stopped using it. 1 the gao between plastic and screen is so bad txting is difficult and often im hitting the wrong thing or no letter at all. 2 side screen is much harder to use. 3 the most annoying is the specker and sound is completly constructed. You have to unclip the latch to hear better.you hear best at the back...with ur ear up to it so u miss seeing whats on the screen. Only thing i like us that if i drop it it will protect it.otherwise i very much hate it!

I used my phone for over 2 years in extreme conditions at work and when I upgraded to an S8 the S6 still looked brand new. My S8 case however, is disappointing because while the case has all the features of my previous one, the designers seems to have dropped the ball with the touch screen cover. There is a noticeable gap between the protector and the touch screen. Mainly along the edges where the screen curves around. This decreases the sensitivity of the screen.

Some friends and I went tubing this weekend and I didn't realize my phone had fallen out of my pocket and into the Guadalupe river. With about 50 yards of river to search, my phone spent about half an hour in the water before we found it.

But the screen protector doesn't fit on the infinity screen and there is a gap you gotta get use to. Press on the screen harder and you can forget about swipe typing. And using the infinity screen side widgets aren't impossible but it is t easlt either. Other then that the case is great.

Passed the water test you recommend in the instructions, fitts over phone beautifully despite the samsungs curved edges. Has been dropped off scaffold to no damage on the phone or case. My only critique would be that cases plastic screen is slightly raised from my phone screen causing me to have to press harder than i would deem necessary. (Even with modifications to screen sensitivity Not a huge issue because of the curved edges i can imagine making it fitt perfectly would be quite a task, merely a comment for the review. The only other would be there is very significant sound reduction, that i didn't notice with my S5 in a Lifeproof case. Great case, well designed. Hopefully it will last and I'll have no issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seafarers saviour Had a Lifeproof Fre case for my previous phone (S6) which is still in pristine condition after 2 years heavy use in a marine environment, so had no hesitation in buying a case for my new Galaxy S8. The case feels robust and protective without adding too much weight. Both the charging and headphone ports are more secure than on the S6 model, with no fear of either opening by accident. This was an important criteria for me when choosing a case because of the increased chance of salt water ingress. The only small gripe is the fixed screen cover being a little loose at the edges because of the curved screen. It does mean having to press slightly harder at the edges to select things at times, however it doesn't effect typing all that much, even using Swype it picks up the letters easily enough. If you want a solid, secure case for your expensive mobile then I would definitely recommend the Fre.

My only issue is the plastic cover on the touch screen has a small gap between it and the screen which gives it a funny feel and makes the screen seem a bit unresponsive. If the screen cover was flush to the screen, its be all thumbs up. I do like that I can just run it under the tap for a quick clean off and all is good again. Despite the non-touchy issue, at least my phone looks cool. And in the meantime, i just have to tap like an angry woodpecker on my screen. :)

Usually lifeproof has been known to be muffled, idk if it was my infatuation with iPhones that made me think it was the case but since i purchased my Samsung S8 I have been nothing but impressed at every angle. I've had Lifeproof cases since my iPhone 4 all the way to my iPhone 6s and have been slowly less impressed with the slowly increasing price tag. Samsung S8 changed the game and Lifeproof is right there with them.

The little speaker screen on the right side of the charging port cover appears to be kinda loose and looks like it's barely glued in. And the new style headphone adapter dampens the sound coming through. I have to use the old style adapter from my iPhone 6S case or use the in-ear headphones that came with the Galaxy S8. Not always ideal, since I prefer using my Skullcandy Aviators.

I have kids and if they are not messing with it, I am dropping it cos I am trying to carry to many things at the same time. 2. Samsung phones are not ergonomically designed, they are difficult to hold, the glass is WAY to fragile for a device you carry everywhere, everyday. I just wish I had bought a proper case long ago. So far this case has been dropped 3 times and the phone is perfect. I was worried the plastic cover would be annoying when using the phone but it's not really. Also it was delivered quickly.

I do wish there were more color options/more customization. Noticed a slight loss in touch screen usability towards the edge due to how the covers protective screen fits over the phone which makes it difficult to use the edge screen and keyboard to type. Also sometimes during phone conversations I'm told there is an issue hearing me via speakerphone and just normal use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 3 full weeks of carpentry work It's a great case, has protected the case just as a we have all come to expect from lifeproof but the build of the case it's a little "cheap " ,the screw cap for the headphone jack it's about to fall off just from regular use, and the rubber on the side of the case are wearing out pretty fast just from the phone going in and out of my pocket all day because of my work, but overall it's a good case, I'm glad the warranty is in place, that's the main reason I keep coming back to lifeproof phone after phone

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just got it, and LOVE IT!! It took quite a while to get our case as they were still involved in the testing of the product when my Samsung Galaxy S8 arrived a month prior. As I had always own LifeProof cases like for my previous phone the Galaxy S5 I know they were second to none in quality. Therefore it was worth the wait to get the case I wanted instead of going with an OtterBox or case that wasn't fully sealed. I love this case and as long as LifeProof continues to make a seal case I will continue to purchase them for any new Samsung product I have in the future especially the Galaxy series of smartphones. Good job.

The new case from Lifeproof is amazing of course. I am in law enforcement and this case is a MUST. My only heartburn is the cost, BUT, you get what you pay for.

This passed weekend, I removed my Galaxy S8 to check the case and noticed the back of the phone was cracked. I don't believe it was a problem related to the case... These phones are just EXTREMELY fragile.

It is worst on the side curves of the phone. So it is hard to use the little edge menu. I also already have a problem with typos and this doesn't help. If this wasn't a problem, I would easily give this phone case 5 stars.

The only negative so far is the lack of sensitivity on the edge screen. You have to press really hard. The shipping was slow but free so can't complain too much. I guess I figured for basically 100.00 case they could do free 2 day shipping. I give it 4 of 5 stars overall. Probably the best case out there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great case. I have been a huge fan of the life proof cases for years now. They always seem to go that extra mile to make high quality and very durable cases. I work as a mechanic and it gets very dirty and dusty in the shop. I constantly drop my phone and this case protects it time and time again. I haven't noticed any drop in picture quality while using the case and all the features on the phone seem to work normal including the iris scanner, the finger print scanner and heart rate monitor. The sound gets a little muffled with the case, but this is to be expected seeing it is water proof. There are only two negative things I can say about this case. First bad thing is the screen protector doesn't fit sung to the phone screen, so you have to tap much harder to execute your command and you can really notice the gap around the edge screen. The other bad thing is, some how I still get dust and lint stuck inside the case and goes all over the screen. Not sure how this happens because the case claims to be dust proof. I constantly leave it sealed when it is in my pocket and only open the charge port at night when I charge my phone on my dresser.

It's a very nice case and the color is perfect. The fit is good aswell except for the clear film over the screen. There is a slight gap between it and the screen which makes pressing sometimes not register. I don't know if this is because of the curve of the screen or some other reason. Still a very nice case and awesome color. It's a small price to pay to know my phone is protected from my clumsy self!

I am no complaints except I signed up for a 10% coupon and the email said to click on link to activate it, but it never kicked in when I checked out. Definitely worth protecting your Samsung S8! Otterbox does not have a screen protector like Lifeproof does.

As of yesterday, the screen protector is making it difficult to use the phone. I've taken it off. The phone works fine without it. I would not recommend spending $89.99 for this case. 1 week of use and it is useless.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Besides Audio Cord I love the LifeProof brand. I owned one with my previous iPhone and it's the best insurance there is on protecting your phone from damage. I am a very clumsy person and my 2 year old phone looked brand new after I took off my well abused case. Worth every penny, so when I got my new Samsung, I imminently knew I wanted the LifeProof case again. This one works just as well, very slim and easy to fit inside a pocket, waterproof and scratch resistant. It's the best! The only problem that I have though is the audio cable you have to screw into your phone. Having one previously I'm accustom to having this extra step, but when it's positioned at certain angles, it makes the songs skip or activates the voice recognition unintentionally. It's becoming a little frustrating to make sure my phone is always at the correct angle in the car or when I'm out running. That's the only issue but regardless I will continue to use this case.

I love the case and I only have two things so far to say about it that aren't great and, one is the sides of the screen protector don't sit all the way down on the screen and, two is the volume up button from time to time will not make contact with actual button on the phone, I think the button on the case will miss align itself cause if I squeeze on the case around the button, it will go back to making contact. But other than that it's a great case.

It's hit and miss and takes entirely too long. I do like the smart lock features, but the OK Google voice thing won't work. I use the trusted location and trusted device features and they seem to work well.

The thing witch i dont like about the lifeproof case for the s8 is that the screen has voids where you have trouble clicking some of the letters my case is not a that bad a little noticeable but my wifes case is pretty bad she really has to click down on the screen to type on the letters the only problem that i see with my case is that the button on the left hand side of the phone (the one you use to turn on and off the screen) sometimes does not work other than these few issues id recommend this case to anyone

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FRE is OK I installed the case on my phone about three weeks ago. The pre-install test of putting it underwater with a paper towel inside was successful. It has protected my phone from being dropped, and it survived laying outside in a heavy downpour of rain. I have a few complaints. The screen protector does not fit properly, there is always an air gap between the screen and the clear plastic. It makes it so I have to press harder to use the phone. If left in the sun, condensation develops inside the case. Sounds from the phone are badly muffled, I have been leaving the charging port cover open to listen to music. Debris somehow got stuck between the screen and the case last week, that is annoying. The rubber pad that covers the charging port fell off and almost got lost. The fingerprint reader barely works with this case on. They need to make numerous improvements before I would consider recommending this case at it's current price.

Lifeproof sent me a new one this is day one for this one, let's see how long it lasts. To me the screen protector seems like a less durable plastic this time. Otherwise it seems fine. Love the waterproofing as I work construction around water..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Consider this, Wonder Woman's Bracelets Hopefully, you are old enough to remember Wonder Woman's Bracelets and how she could defend herself by deflecting anything that came her way. That pretty much sums up my experience with the Lifeproof Fre case for my phone and I. If gunfire breaks out anytime soon, I'm using this case to deflect bullets. If you are on the phone with me at the time gunfire breaks out, fear not, you WON'T be able to hear to commotion very well..one of a few negative points that detract from this near perfect case. I have run my phone over with my car, got into a river with it in my pocket, then sat there and chilled for a while, flung it across the parking lot on both ice and steaming hot asphalt and subjected it to countless other calamities that would have killed the phone had I been using a lesser case. Am I careless? NO, I suffer from a life long curse of being a walking disaster. Can I afford this case, or the replacement phones if the Fre fails? Once again, no. However, given that I received a Lifeproof Fre as a gift for my previous phone (an iPhone 5c) and the checkered past we had together, I was willing to look through the couch sofa's cushions for change to buy one for my new Galaxy S8. I was elated to find that this case was much more streamline than the model I had for my iPhone 5c. I was even more impressed when the Samsung Wireless Charging pad worked without removing the Fre (the Otterbox Defender Series did not). However, as with all things, there are a couple of negatives with this case. Sadly, I list them below while I wait for technological and design improvements to produce my personal Nirvana of Lifeproof Fre heaven... 1. The sound that people hear on the other end of the call still sucks...to the point that I returned one phone thinking it was defective... This is a matter of personal preference and usage habits. It you use the phone like a regular phone (ie. holding it to you ear) you can rest assured, someone will complain they can't understand you. I have been told this is the waterproofing feature of the case which causes this, since there is a film which covers the microphone. However, if you stage regular, yet unintentional assassination attempt on your device...this case can not be beat by anyone! Believe me, if someone could get the case to fail, it's me... 2. Equally disappointing, yet understandable, is that Lifeproof still has the headphone jack adapter which you must screw in through the case in the event (however unlikely it may be) you want to PLUG a cord into your phone via the headphone jack. 3. This one is border line nit-picky, but deserves mention nevertheless, the screen protector material could use some improvement! It scratches way too easily and feels "funky" when you are tapping away on your phone. It works relatively well overall, but kinda cheapens the experience of the screen at the price points the Fre series is designed for. On the other hand, this is where the exceptional customer service and warranty make up the difference head and shoulders above inferior cases I have tried in the past! Overall, let me offer a final thought for you, assuming you have been patient enough to read this far...When shopping for my new phone, the phones that made the running for consideration, were based simply of the models that Lifeproof produces the Fre Series case for...

From work to the gym the poor phone sometimes gets a bit of a beating but the case takes each knock on the chin like a pro ! On my Apple device, the rubber around the site started to come off. I got onto the Lifeproof team and was issued with a replacement within a day. The whole team were nice and very professional. The only drawback (but it's not big enough to Mark down by a star) is that on the Samsung S8, the screen of the case doesn't sit flush with the screen of the phone. It's a like there's an air bubble underneath which in turn makes you have to either double tap the buttons or press a little harder. 10 out of 10 for; durability, quality, service and design.

It also makes it hard to use the curved edge feature. I dont use that feature but I thought I would include it.

The ONLY thing needed to improve this case would be rubber textured inlays on the back as well as the sides of the case to better the grip and or hold of the phone. The back of the case is smooth and may sometimes be slippery to grip.... To allievate this I had ordered grip strips from Amazon and installed on the back.... Problem solved!

I've had it for two weeks, and the ONLY complaint I have is that the hole for the fingerprint sensor isn't wide enough, so it makes it kinda hard to unlock my phone. It seems too keep my device dry and protected and i like that it is very slim, however the screen protection doesn't rest tightly on the screen and you habe to push harder than you should for the edges of the screen to recognise your touch. There is a significant gap between the screen and the case.

There is a small gap between the protective cover and the screen which decreases it's sensitivity. I find it hard to type with the plastic cover and taking it off makes it no longer dust proof and water proof. I now have to decide whether I want to actually be able to use my phone, or if I want it to be protected.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid. Not for everyday use, though. When I opened the package, it was clear that this case is heavy duty and absolutely no harm will ever come to my phone. The water test was cool, the case is truly completely sealed. This would be great if you're going to the beach, hiking, or doing anything where you would fear breaking your phone or getting it dirty. However, I found that it was quite bulky to use on a normal basis. The covering over the camera is not conducive to taking crystal clear pictures the way the phone was intended, meaning the piece over the lense is plastic and gets dirty easily. This is definitely a great backup case for my relatively boring office-job life. Unless you're an incredibly adventurous person, I would have a hard time paying full price for this case if I was only going to use it as a backup.

The one for the S8...not so much. The case doesn't fit very well on the corners or the curved edge. One other thing is the extension for the AUX cord doesn't even fit in the case. So now, I can't use my AUX cord without removing the case. I am not impressed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doesn't fit phone well for touch screen Because the S8 is shaped like the Edge, the Lifeproof case tries to accommodate the edges, but the case is too far above the actual screen, so it buckles as you press it to type or search, and it's like your finger is skipping across the screen. I was very disappointed after such a long wait for the product. I returned it and am hoping to get a quick refund. I wish the S8 had a flat screen so this wouldn't have been a problem.

Because of the rounded screen on the S8, the screen cover is bubbled up, so you have to apply significant pressure to actually touch the screen, especially on the edges. It's very very irritating. Also, the port for the headphone jack only works if you have the adaptor bit in. Otherwise it's too deep for a standard headphone jack to plug into.

The plastic screen protector doesn't feel as fitted on the screen and the edges are actually not touching which makes it a lil more harder to text.

You have to press hard and then you hear & feel the gap between the protective shield and the phone. I've always had a Lifeproof case and wanted another one. If you make one that fits right, I'll get another one. As for now, I'm returning this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from S8 case Well, it took awhile to get here, and now that its here, I can give my opinion. First off, it is the ONLY case that is waterPROOF for the S8. Yes, the S8 is water resistant from the factory, but most people are confusing the two. Resistant means if you spill water, coffee, etc on it, that it will not damage the phone, as long as you clean it off soon. And that is is not submerged. Now, I would think that if you dropped youi phone say, in the sink of water, as long as you immediately pulled it out, you might be safe. But, why risk it? Enter the Lifeproof case. Now, if the phone gets dropped in the sink, pool, etc, you can get it, and not have to worry about destroying it. With the advent of the curved side glass, cases are getting harder to make. This new case from Lifeproof is no different. I am happy with the case. It works as described. I can use my fingerprint feature and the face scan feature without any problems. I think most people who are having problems with these features, and not using common sense, and re calibrating the feature AFTER installing the case! Yes, using some of the features on the side of the phone (such as hitting the exclamation point while texting) requires a slight increase in finger pressure then without the case. But just like everything on this Earth, there are trade offs. You want full protection, waterproof, etc?? Then get used to pushing just a little harder on the case for items on the curved portion of the screen. Other than that, its really the best case out there for the S8, actually, for any phone.

I have witnessed the greatness of Lifeproof cases, but I dont like how they dont provide the attachments for the main usb/charging port. My phone came with a connector that everytime I need to use it, I have to remove the case. Lifeproof provided me with an extender for the headphones, which is awesome, I just wish they'd provide the other one as well. I need to attach USB cables to my phone quite often, as I use it like a computer.

I am so happy I ordered it it fits perfectly and it was made so you can still see the full screen.. it's lightweight just like the galaxy 8s. I recommend this highly to everyone.

I haven't dropped it yet or tried submersing in water either but the case feels like it will do its job. Works great with wireless charger too.

The colors aren't too bad and they compliment each other without going to the extreme. For reference, I bought the Purple Twilight which has a teal like an accent.

The edge of the phone has a slight curve to it. It seems because of the curved sides, the case will not fit tight. It feels like there is a pocket of air that I can not get rid of. However, I am receiving the protection that only Lifeproof cases can provide. I have dropped this phone at work, it has fallen down a staircase and landed on a cement ground, gotten wet, and have sat on it, and my phone is still 100% intact.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality drop from previous model I was a very satisfied customer with my case for my old Galaxy S6. The case was much more pleasant to hold, better color choices, and overall tactile quality. Although, the door for the power source broke twice, Lifeproof stood by the product and sent me new cases for a minimal shipping fee which I thought was reasonable. Because of great customer service I immediately bought a case for my new Galaxy S8, and have been terribly disappointed. The feel of the plastic is so much cheaper. The screen cover does not conform completely to the beveled edges of the new S6 screen and consequently, I find myself having to push very firmly, and multiple times to get a response. The door to the charging port is extremely difficult to open and close, and I imagine it won't be long before this too breaks, (was hoping this would be remedied on new model). At this rate, I think I will see if it's not too late to return the product and try something else.

I've had Life cases in the past this s8 model is a step down. the edges have a significant gap. i even called to get a replacement (customer service is still top notch) but the replacement has the same issue.

Sooo bummed too

Theres a rubber gasket on the charging port door that fell off a few days after I purchased it. Luckily I found it and put it back in. Now it's a 2 weeks later and rubber piece is gone. Now I have to make a warranty claim and it's not even been month.

If you want to open the apps edge you really have to press down and if you are lucky you will be able to open it. It's seems all the screen is lifted and you really have to press down you to touch the screen. Another thing I found out is the Galaxy 8 comes with an adapter to were you can adapt your USB drive to it. It would not fit and in order to use this on a phone the case has to be removed completely. Other than that I like the case

They don't have many color options for the s8 and I was told there was no plans to make any other colors (see fb post on life proof site). The screen protector kept sticking to my phone screen making it difficult to type which was the main issue.

Although I have noticed the the edges on the screen protector lifting off of the screen making it harder to use the edges of my screen. I have noticed on other Samsung phones that center of the screen dips after being used for a while. I'm assuming the problems I'm having are more phone related then case related.

I am a super clumsy person with a super active lifestyle. My lifeproof case allows me to use my phone at the beach and during workouts. I have even dropped my phone at the bottom of a river plus I drop my phone almost daily! I have never broken my phone but I have broken my lifeproof case twice in 5 years. This company gave me the exact same case I only had to pay shipping both times. I am super greatful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't think it's going to last Only been running the case for about a week, the charger cover flap doesn't seem to be sealing that we'll, dust and dirt is getting in so I would say that water would - I work in really dusty conditions. The piece of plastic that attaches the headphone plug to the case is already starting to wear a bit as well, I don't think that's gonna last too long. Other then that the rest of the case is good, and there's a warranty ill probably end up using as it doesn't seem as solid as my S5 LifeProof case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loose screen protector I'm sure the protection factor lives up to the Lifeproof reputation, but I just can't get over the loose screen protector. I have a Lifeproof case for my Galaxy S5 and multiple iPhones. I have even purchased Lifeproof cases as gifts. All have been great...until this model. Maybe the curved edge of the Galaxy S8 is difficult to fit. There is too much space between the protector and phone screen. Each tap or scroll has to be deliberate and forced, not to mention the annoying sound of each tap on the loose plastic. It drives me so crazy that I will be returning it. On a positive note, the phone was dropped from my couch to a wood floor. Everything stayed intact; no cracks or chips. Not sure if the fall was bad enough that anything would have been damaged with no case, but I felt reassured that my phone would be protected. The textured back surface is great for grip since the naked phone is super slick. Colors available are either blah (black, gray) or kid-like bubble gum (pink, teal). I would love to see a clear case to show off the phone color or even a phone color match...assuming the loose screen protector gets improved.

I had the case for the galaxy s6 great case lasted 2 years kept my device like new this new case I just got for my s8 looks great n is still slim doesn't add much bulk 2 the device just one thing that the s8 is slightly curved on the edge the screen protector doesn't hug the edge that well and sticks up just enough so that u have 2 press down lightweight hard for it 2 get numbers like 1 and 0 on the keyboard but as long as it last me as long as my first case I really don't mind much just wish is was a little more snug for the price.

The phone's survived multiple jumps (including a water landing, a couple drops in the gravel, and even one of my soldiers dropping a Leatherman on it. I took it out of the case last week and the phone still looks like it just came out of the box. The wireless charging works through the case so you don't even have to open the bottom to plug it in. Only real problem I've had is that the screen protector doesn't sit flush with the screen along the curved edges which can make it a real pain to type on. Overall this is a great case and definitely worth the price if you're in the military.

I read this in other reviews too. There is a gap when you try to touch the screen, you have to press harder or twice or longer. Otherwise i like it.

Feels so solid, looks so good, and it way outperforms the competitors curved screen offering. As a saltwater fisherman I can't trust the water resistant seals, so this provides the protection I need. Plus dirt wipes right off!

My only complaint would be that the advertisement for the color isn't correct. The top is maroon and green, and the back is pink. Other than that, love it! So sleek and slim. It isn't bulky at all.

One of the main bad reviews was the quality of the screen protector. Well all I can say is that this case will not disappoint. My daughter has no issues with the screen protector not being close enough to the phone screen and she has no oil slick marks between the phone and protector. The only thing i would like with this case is side bumpers. It has top and bottom bumpers only, so if it dropped and hit the edge of a step or table and landed across the edges of the screen, it wouldnt have the protection as it would landing flat on something. I was aware of this before purchasing but still felt it offered better drop protection than other cases on the market. An improvement perhaps for the future. Smart case and slim line too. Would buy again in the future. Very pleased. Would definately recommend. If it had side screen protection i would have given 5 stars.

Unfortunately a poor fitting screen cober with a gap between the phone screen and case means it leaves my phone unusable in the case as it leaves typing an extremely frustrating task.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beach-goer Bought this Samsung 8 case to replace a cassmate and zagg invisible shield because i wasn't happy with the glass cover that cracked within the 1st week, edges didnt fully wrap, collected dust on the edges, and that it didn't protect my phone fully from the Sand as I'm frequently at the beach. I love this Lifeproof case, in durability, color (turquoise/coral, and It's enclosed fully. I dont like the typing ability thru the case however.. its not very snug, esp around the curved edges making. It's hard to type softly as u have to type hard enough to press thru that. Also being curved, it makes a lot of word errors with this case. Over all it's great!!

It's kept my phone safe and dry which is the purpose of it but as most of you know the Samsung Galaxy 8 has the curved screen which a lot of companies cannot figure out how to make a screen protector for it. LifeProof also seems to have an issue. You can feel the sides are raised up and if you want to hit anything in that general area you kind of have to press hard. But besides that I feel this case keeps my phone as safe as possible.

On the edges of the screen you have to push down or it will not work. I need a water proof case for work. I am disappointed. My past life proof cases for my other phones worked great

My husband and I both have them for our Samsung Galaxy S8 and both struggle. The screen is harder to make respond and have to hit something a few times to make it work. Guessing due to the way phone is made with infinity screen so it does not have a tight fit to make it more accurate. My daughter has IPhone 7 with Lifeproof case and has no problems. Just disappointed spent a lot of money on these cases and do not like them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lifeproof I have had Lifeproof cases since they started coming out for Samsungs and I am a huge fan. That being said, while I do love my case, I'm a little disappointed in this one. For one, touch sensitivity seems faulty because the screen does not lay flat against the phone. Two, the headphone jack opening is not user friendly. I have long nails and it takes quite a bit to unscrew it because I don't have the right leverage for grip (I've used pliers before tbh. And three, the charging port opening seems flimsy while open, like it could snap off at any minute. Still, I can say that I have dropped my previous protected phones into full porcelain bathtubs from 3 ft up and they have been more than fine, so I trust my case will keep my phone safe.
