I’m still waiting on my custom Lenovo Yoga C940 (which is arriving ahead of schedule), but I have tested the docking station on my Dell work laptop. I’m really happy with this add-on for my new personal workstation as I travel to visit family regularly.

Likewise, the ethernet port was slow. When I moved the SSD drive to the other side of the Yoga 3, speed was great. Appears the docking station in the USB C port has issues with maintaining throughput/connectivity.

So with only a simple USBC you can connect to Ethernet, HDMI, etc. So if you’re okay with the extra box and wire, and the clunkiness that comes with it, it’s definitely worth it.

This is a great tool that will allow me to connect my laptop to a wired network, external monitor, projector, and/or TV when deliver training presentations while traveling. It was easy to setup and replaces many different types of cords that I used to take with me.

Size and form factor may not be the smallest on the market, but it is well-balanced for the 4 ports that it has. Having the option of a wired ethernet port is a great feature.

The USB port works in the adapter, but I was not able to use it to connect to an external projector either via the VGA or the HDMI port. It is a modern desktop projector and I don't know why this product didn't work properly. I guess I'll have to buy another one. Will update this post if Lenovo refunds my money or helps solve the problem for me.

From a design perspective, an additional usb-c port would improve the ability to add power or any other usb-c device. Unfortunately, wasn't able to drive a 4K monitor from this unit.

My employer makes me take it home every night, and I get to work from home once a week, but will not get me a docking station and set of monitors for home use. I bout this adapter to allow me to connect a VGA monitor I had, plus an HDMI monitor connected to the notebook itself. I also connect a USB hub for all my peripherals (mouse, keyboard, headset, and a few other items, including a scanner. The $79 adapter does for me at home what a $399 docking station does for me at work. I could not be happier. I showed it to our IT guy, and he is promoting these in a few departments in the company.
