I don't do any faxing so that is a feature that I had on my previous printer that I did not need or use. My previous printer had 5 ink cartridges where this printer only needs 2. I'm looking forward to the savings $$$. HP support could not be better. They did a remote session and installed my printer while I sat by and watched the Tech do his thing! Works flawlessly...Very happy with this purchase!!!

I can print emails wirelessly from my smartphone or laptop. I can make copies of correspondence or important documents. The price was right. Of course I would have liked this machine to have an automatic feeder function, but nowadays I don't have that many multi-page documents to copy. This is a smart buy for the home.

Rated 5 out of 5 byEmilyO575870 from Easy to install printer that works decently wel...Assembly / Installation: This is probably the easiest wireless printer I`ve ever installed. The printer itself comes pre-assembled with minimal accessories, just a power cord and the 2 ink cartridges. All you have to do is take off the plastic, remove one bit of cardboard on the inside, and plug the printer in. Then you follow the prompts on the printer`s screen. Ink:Installing the ink is easy, however the ink drawer has small plastic tabs that feel flimsy, and I was worried I`d accidentally break them off when installing the ink. I also felt that the ink cartridges were very small, the color ink was the cyan/magenta/yellow all combined into the same cartridge. I imagine it would run out of ink quite fast, and your only option for replacement is the name-brand ink subscription service. I prefer to buy my own ink as needed, and do not like this being the only refill option.Design:This printer is relatively low profile for an all-in-one printer/scanner. It is sleek and black with a small touch screen. However, the paper drawer is quite small, and I doubt it would hold more than 25-50 pages. I don`t like refilling my printer with paper constantly, so this is a bit of a drawback. Additionally, the paper drawer is not really easy to pull out, I had to lift the front of the whole printer up an inch or so in order to access the small indented handle to pull out the drawer.Setup:As mentioned, this is a very easy wireless printer to install. It comes with a single sheet "quick install" guide, and also walks you through the steps on the printer`s small touch screen. Just go to the url on your computer or smartphone, and download the installation program. It will then walk you through the steps and set up the printer automatically on your Wifi network. The process was very fast and easy, and involved no cords/USB connections, or intermediate steps with your router in order to connect. I was very happy with how easy the setup is.Printing:Printing is wireless easy from your phone or computer. You can also add it to Cloud Print to print to your printer from wherever you are. The print quality is pretty good for black and white, and decent for photos. There was some lighter horizontal lines visible in some colors in my test prints (especially in the blues).Scanning:Good quality and easy to use from computer.PROS:Very easy setupDecent black and white print qualityNice design and low profile makes it more compact than some all-in-one printersCONS:Small paper cartridge - will need to refill oftenPaper cartridge not easy to access without moving the entire printer. It`s also a bit flimsy, and also I already had 1 paper jam when I was first trying the printer.Ink cartridges are very small, and the only option for refill is to subscribe to their service. I imagine this is expensive, and personally subscription services annoy me.Print quality for photos could be improved. There really shouldn`t be any lines visible on a brand new ink cartridge.I wish there was an option for USB connection. Though the WiFi print was very easy to set up and works great so far, inevitably I`ve had connection issued with all my previous wireless printers that could only be solved using USB cord. This isn`t even an option on the HP Envy since there is no USB port.I wish there was a bypass tray. I print a lot of business checks and envelopes on my home printer and a bypass tray really is essential for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 byTanviA380245 from A Good Printer For The HomeI have received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion.Item: HP ENVY Printer 5055; All In One Printer (Black)Size and Appearance: The size of the printer is average and comparable to an average printer. It fits well in a tight corner. The appearance is very modern and svelte.Setup: I set the device up on 2 laptops (1 Dell and 1 HP) and 2 iPhones. The laptop setup was pretty straight forward and user friendly. The only difficult I incurred was a timeout error message that I received twice (ironically while setting up the hp printer on an hp laptop).Assembly: The printer was very easy and straight forward to assemble. There are few packaging items (tape, cardboard, etc.) to remove and only the power cord to hook up. The printer has a step by step guide for alignment and pretty much everything else is handled in the app downloading process. They could be a little more straight forward on the ink cartridge instillation, but if you`ve ever owned a printer before, it`s still pretty straight forward. Performance and Capabilities: From what I have printed thus far, it seems to work well. It prints quickly and efficiently and the ink seems to be solid and of good quality. I have not yet used the scanner, but I was happy to see that it was included. Overall it seems to be a good printer that will work well in a home setting.

Rated 5 out of 5 byLR_6146 from Finally a printer that works as advertisedThe printer has been in use for about a month. Installation went well. Finally no "bloat-ware" that takes over the computer. I really like how it connects to the home wifi quite easily. Print speed and quality are outstanding. This new printer replaced a previous HP printer that lasted 5 years. The HP printers before it were always a challenge due to "bloat-ware" and frequent jamming. Its a keeper.
