Garmin fenix 6X Sapphire - black DLC - sport watch with band - chestnut - 3 is rated 4.30 out of 5 by 523.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from worth every penny I bought mine sapphire few months ago and just now have the chance to take it backpacking. I've been using it on some daily bike rides and hiking. Major upgrade from a Samsung gear 3 and do not miss being able to talk on my watch. Love the custom features.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worse yet. After replacing my second Garmin Fenix (5x) with a 6x the watch immediately started asking me to connect to music. The requests would then lock up the watch and force me to turn off power in order to remove the request screen. I bought the watch to track training. My previous watches both went dead after about 2 years. This one cost $1k. That’s a very expensive non-functioning watch!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Watch, Great tracking I have only had it a couple of days but, I have changed the face about 8 times and found the features to be in line with all other Garmin Quality. I highly recommend this series for people who are serious about fitness. The music was a bit of a struggle at first but, it seems to be going well now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! Bought the Fenix 6X to track my running, cycling, weight lifting exercises; but the other applications that track your pulse, sleeping, calories, emergency contacts is a plus. Plenty of customization options. And if your the type to push yourself to your limits; than at least you can look cool wearing a Garmin fenix 6X on your wrist while being stretchered to the ambulance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable to wear, upgraded from my Fenix 3 So far very happy with it, only had it since Christmas. Heartrate monitor does not seem to have information each day. May need to adjust settings, but overall the best sports watch on the market.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like it so far, but doesn’t track my heart rate Bought this watch a couple days ago. It does not track my heart rate, nor my sleep, two important things that I wanted in an activity tracker that the Fitbit was always reliable about. Through some Garmin forums apparently this is a regular issue for this watch and all you can do is wait for a software update for this important function to work

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better Battery Life but Erratic Heart Rate I like the improved battery life and the larger screen. I have a problem with the heart monitor which is erratic at times, particularly after doing an exercise. I measure my pulse at 80BPM and the watch shows a rate over 140BPM.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ehhh! Not very pleased I have had this watch for about 6 weeks and I am not very pleased. The face is hard to view in low light and activating the light while it is still daylight is too much trouble. There really are no good analog faces. I did buy it for GPS/maps and it does that well. I really have little use for the health stuff and it goes too deeply into that. I think I still want it for the maps, maybe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mostly good - HR & Garmin SW woes I’ve had my 6x Pro for about 3 months now. In general it is wonderful. The Good: thinner, cool features, improved over fenix 3 HR, outdoor swim finally good tracking, strength app pretty good with easy in the moment correction The Bad: still loses laps on indoor swim, music app is anything but easy to set up and use - stick with it, it’ll work eventually, it’s just the UI is poor, HR still off from the chest monitor by about 5-10 bpm The Ugly: Garmin and iOS 13 have not found a clean working relationship. Update to SW 4.2 completely eliminated all data sync to the phone (not activity data, no Amazon music data, etc). This failure lasted weeks!!! How this update ever passed a QA audit, I’ll never know. No ownership by Garmin of the issue (not even acknowledgement) in spite of multiple posts and out reaches by many owners.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great watch just too big I have a 7.5 inch wrist and this watch is a big mama jama! Heavy duty on features and statistics. Unfortunately way too big for my wrist as it causes immense discomfort even when the device is well above my wrist bone. Comfort is a key component for watches as they'll most likely be on you the entire day and some cases evening (sleeping)... so this big boy loses some stars for just being way too big for myself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely love it! I have had most of the popular smartwatches all of them are lacking in one major way...battery life. Not the garmin, I am getting 20 days off of a full charge and I haven't gone crazy with the power management. Love this thing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What insight I've had my Fenix for a little over a month now, and I have to admit that the light it shed on my sleeping patterns was disturbing. It changed my perspective and some of my habits. Everything else is just fully functional icing on the exploration cake!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Device, instruction manual needs reworking I got the 51 mm 6X Pro. I like the large face for tracking my progress on hikes. The topo map is very clear. However, when I first went to setup the Fenix, it took me two hours just to get the default watch face to be how I like it. (Hint: when you first urn on the Fenix, it does NOT look like the picture on this page). Instead of instructions being in the front of the User's Manual, they are buried on page 34 and those instruction could use a little more information for the first time user, including illustrations of the various items on the watch face that can be customized. After all, the User Manual is NOT included in the box, but must be downloaded from Garmin in PDF format. So, what is a few more pages? Being online, Garmin could easily edit the Manual to place the "Customizing Your Device" section right after "Introduction", where it belongs! Also, why is this review site requiring me to disable ad blockers just to post a review? I cannot think of a valid reason a review site working for Garmin needs to bombard me with ads just to post a review! Can you?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Sports/Activity watch I've ever had. I bought the Fenix 6 watch and switched from my old standby Polar Vantage because With the Fenix it is all in one. With maps, weather, barometer, altimeter, sleep tracking, (although so far it refuses to track my deep sleep, saying I got none where the polar says I got 1:15.), and room to track all my activities. Setting the watch up was almost painless, except for getting use to all the things I could make it do. And I still don't have a solid grasp of all it can do. As far as I am concerned this is the best watch of its kind you could ever get. Although, the Delta has A kill switch and NVG readable. The Army kept my NVGs so I can't use that and OPSEC isn't all that important to me anymore. The Fenix does everything I need.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It just keeps getting better ! I bought my 1st Garmin Fenix in December of 2012, and purchased every subsequent release, finally landing on the 6X pro earlier this year, and I'm really happy with the product. The issues I had with my 5X+ have been addressed (BT connectivity, better GPS chipset, etc.) and a few new useful features have been added. Not only that, they'e been releasing software updates at a quick clip, fixing bugs and adding new features. They've even reduced watch size, which has been a bit of a deterrent in the past. There is one reason however, that I haven't given them 5 stars, and that's LTE connectivity, for emergency purposes. Like most hard core distance runners, I have no interest in being "more connected" while I run. I do not want emails, I do not want texts, and I do not want phone calls. HOWEVER, over the nearly 15k miles I've run with the Fenix watch series, I'm constantly finding instances where this technology would prove valuable. This is the one piece that Garmin is missing.... add it, and the watch is perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from difficult to figure out how to set it uP Received it this week. User manual is virtually non-existent. Garmin tutorial videos on their website are not good either. I’m now resorting to some third party videos in hopes they will help me figure this fenix 6x pro out. Not intuitive at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from backlight is terrible for a high end priced watch First day out of the box I noticed that the backlight was not strong, the blacks were not black - more like blue or purple.... I'm not very happy with that despite all of the great features that this has. Probably will send it back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Battery Life and Custom Battery Profiles I've used the Fenix 6X on my last three 100 mile races and am thankful I was wearing this watch. In other words, I was out there in the mountains much longer than planned. This watch still had half of its battery life left. Even better, I was able to create a custom battery profile that will address all of my needs and allow me to tackle 200 miles next year without having to try to recharge my watch on the go. Amazing!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big improvement I have a Marq Athlete and while I really like the build quality it is just not the same as this larger better screen. I am very happy and feel it is an upgrade. I am hoping in the future Garmin puts LTE cellular onboard for emergency situations so the phone is not needed...as in biking, jogging, or just when you didn't want to carry a big brick of a phone and wanted freedom. The ability to turn it on or off for battery consumption would be great. Also more sensors for maybe blood pressure, heart rithym

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointed Problems with maps. My runs will not automatically roll over to Garmin connect. A lot of money for many problems. I replaced my Fenix 5 bc it wouldn’t charge and wish I wouldn’t have purchased another Garmin product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Features! Quite the upgrade! Although it does have its short falls - it's not the device itself so much as it's the user (me)...I upgraded from Fitbit to the Fenix 6x Pro and am still getting used to the more modular or custom system Garmin offers over the Fitbit intuitive style system. I think one thing I have noticed so far the Fitbit does well or better than the Fenix 6x is tracking sleep/awake times. But that's really about it...I do think it's worthy to mention I can't manually enter my BMI or Fat% like I could for my fitbit but maybe I can link my Fitbit scale to my Garmin??

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great workout metrics as always I needed a replacement for my dated Vivoactive HR with a larger screen and music capability. The new Fenix 6X fit the bill. Took a while to figure out how to upload music from Spotify playlists as well as directly from computer. I've only run on the treadmill with it so far but hope to get out on the road bike soon. Still get notifications and don't miss a touch screen. Took a few days to get accustomed to reading and clearing notifications without thinking about it. Oh, and Garmin Pay works everywhere that I used to use another NFC system at so win win! Drawbacks that would have given it a 5/5 review: Connections - occasionally still have issues connecting the watch to the phone (especially after recharging or powering off/on). Delays syncs as well. Not nearly as bad as the Vivoactive HR though. Bluetooth headphones - I've paired two sets to the watch but one of them won't adjust the music volume UP only DOWN (have to use the watch for this). This is a problem with the watch but not when paired with a phone using the same headphones. Don't have that problem with another set of headphones (which luckily are the more expensive ones!).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All around great! I bought this a week ago. I switched from the Apple Watch series 4, and found the F6X has so much more to offer. The battery life is much better than the Apple Watch. I haven’t had the need to charge my Garmin yet, with my Apple Watch I had to charge once a day. I could go on and on with reasons why Garmin is a better choice over apple. You won’t be disappointed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice form factor not too thick - but great battery Have been watching Garmin for a long time. I had a Suunto Ambit 2 for years and lost it when the rubber strap broke. Only gripe about the fenix 6x is the standard rubber strap is a bit short for a large wrist & I haven't been able to find a longer one. I will try some other types (leather ...) but they all seem to list the same adjustment range.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like the model before it, the Fenix 6X is a tank I love the Fenix series. Its built for the athlete in mind. Its rugged and durable, and full-featured. The 6X really pushes the Fenix series ahead on a solid track. I truly couldn't imagine a fit life without this watch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big Watch Face I love the big and easily read watch face on the Fenix 6x. The contrast for the daytime is great. So many great features that I don't even know where to start: running, walking, treadmill, hiking, golf, biking, swimming, exploration, etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Beast I have been using the Fenix 6X for a little over a month and love it! I had a Fenix 3HR and the move to the 6X is night and day! Bigger screen, brighter screen, more battery life and very easy to see my stats while running. I run just about everyday and only need to charge it once a week. I opted not to go the solar route because it lacked the Sapphire glass. The training metrics running data with the HR chest strap cannot be beat by the competition. You will not be disappointed in the Fenix 6X. Just buy it!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Unit/Tons of Features Purchased this to replace my Garmin fenix 3 which I have had for a number of years. Use this primarily for hiking and hunting in mountains. The fenix 6x Pro is a significant improvement. The GPS acquires much faster, the altimeter and compass more accurate and the activity tracking more robust. Even connects to my Garmin inReach mini and my iPhone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great watch - poor connection to iPhone. I really like this watch, coming from. Fénix 5, it’s great but on the connect app, I always get an error that says “sync failed - device connection error”. I’ve called Garmin support about it but they didn’t offer a solution. After reading the forums online, it’s a pretty wide spread and obvious problem. Not being able to see and sync your data on your phone is a huge bummer. I may return the watch while I still can. This is after I already exchanged it once already.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seemless with Strava, still learning how to use it I bought this a few days ago. The only reason I mark it at 4 stars is the setup was a bit difficult. But once past google searches and how to videos. It has been a great watch. I came off an Apple 4 watch and that watch is much more automated as for setup. But Strava on this Garmin has been amazing. It is much easier to click a button and it starts or ends the exercises. Touch screen watches are difficult to use with sweaty fingers. As I get more used to this watch, I am sure it will move into 5 star.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Goodbye applewatch Initially I was skeptical. I felt that my Apple Watch was superior to any smart watch in the market. COMPLETELY WRONG! As a new member of the Garmin Family, I have only started to tap into all the available resources. The watch works great for swimming, cycling, and running. Plus I enjoy turning on my watch to some music and losing track of time while out for a walk. I have convinced two other individuals to purchase the 6x sapphire. Let’s hope their opinion is similar

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Perfect Multisport Fitness Watch!!! The longer battery life, updated software, bigger screen and larger memory have all been worth the upgrade from the Fenix 5x Plus. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Watch With Tons Of Improvements I purchased this watch after owning the Fenix 5X. I was hesitant as while I loved the 5, the heart rate monitor was really wonky. I actually stopped wearing it after a very short time. I wasn't going to get the 6 when it came out as I figured it may be the same. I fought myself for months because I didn't want to spend that kind of money on something that was not working. I used Apple Watch and it was great with the heart rate monitor but it lacked all the amazing features of the Fenix. I finally pulled the plug and ordered one. I was skeptical as I did read a lot of forums in which said the heart rate monitor had the same issues as the 5. I got the watch and I am really glad I did. I love the upgrades to the body they made and the watch just looks great. The features are amazing! The heart rate monitor is much better. Still has some issues but all in all I decided I am going to keep the watch and use it this time. The new watch faces are amazing! All your info in one place. The battery is untouchable in my opinion. I had to charge my other watch every day. With the 6, I go 7 days and I am down to 70% from 100. The heft and ruggedness of this watch is what really Wows me! I am not an athlete but I just started a fitness journey and Garmin has an amazing app and web page which shows you metrics for days and you can make friends and join challenges. If you are looking for a fitness watch this is the one! There are a few smart watch features but I don't really use them, I use my phone for that. I think this watch is a great buy and I would recommend it. Again, the only reason I gave it 4 stars is they still haven't perfected the heart rate monitor. If they would knock that out of the park and also add ECG, you would not be able to touch this watch as far as a fitness/health/sport watch. This phone doesn't have mobile phone capabilities. I do think that would be a big plus to add, otherwise the features and maps are great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for workout! I wanted to get more from a fitness watch than the Fitbit Charge 3 could offer. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Huge Upgrade from Fenix 3 HR I had moved from another watch brand to the Fenix family with the 3 HR a few years ago and was blown away at how good it was. I just recently took the plunge to upgrade to the 6x and had the same feeling. The features are awesome and I am loving all the data I am getting about my workouts and just day to day living. I charged it for the first time today and its estimating a month of battery - that cannot be beat. The Fenix 3 had the same ecosystem using the Connect app, but it comes to life much more effectively on the Fenix 6x. I had waffled between upgrading and not and I am extremely happy that I ended up making the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Initial hiccups After receiving my Fenix 6x, I went to set it up. Initial problems of Bluetooth sync with the iOS 13 update was quickly remedied and rest of the setup was flawless. Only issue was after installing a 3rd party watch face, the default watch faces were somehow erased. Resorted to hard reset and everything was fixed. Not sure if that watch face developer didn’t account for newer SDK, but it is what it is. Overall I’m very happy with the fenix 6x and looking forward to testing it out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best one This is my 3rd watch and love it! I started from the Fenix 3 hr, had the Fenix 5 and now the Fenix 6. Garmin did an awesome job with this one and can't wait to see what they come out with in the future. I wish they had wireless charging since that cable sucks, but what can you do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This watch is definitely “level up.” I just got the Garmin Fenix 6X Pro about a week ago and I’m so excited about the possibilities. This watch monitors everything but the kitchen sink. Heart rate, breathing, oxygen, sleep, you name it (except blood pressure). The watch’s GPS is very accurate and I’m very pleased with all of the great information I now have available; not only the runs but about my overall health in general. I took a huge step up from the “G” watch so this watch has a big learning curve. It will take some time to learn all the functions but definitely worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very complicated for my simple mind. I just received the watch yesterday and spent the better part of the day trying to figure it out. The directions aren't all that clear. However, despite expressing to Garmin an intent to return it, I'm second guessing myself now and will play with it some more before deciding what to do. It has a lot of neat features, not all of which I ever intend to use. But there are some that will come in very handy, I'm sure. So I figure I need to give my simple brain a little more time with it before I decide whether or not this was a good idea. I do like the watch face (which, of course, you can change if you don't like what you have) except that I wish it would stay lit continually (which, I'm sure, would kill the battery too fast if it did). I will reserve further comment until I've given it a fair chance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing watch, frustrating app. Use the watch for biking and hiking mainly. Works amazing. The biggest issue is sync with the app. Since ios13 I have to turn the Bluetooth off and restart the app numerous times each day to get to sync and even then it doesn’t always sync to my iPhone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best watch ever I have always loved watches. I am 61 yrs old and still have every watch I ever purchased or was given as a gift, including the one my parents gave me when I was 12 years old. I used to wear many of them interchangeably. Once I started wearing the Fenix watches, I stopped wearing the others completely. The Fenix 6X is by far the best. I can't go in to all of the features here, but I can say that I use almost all of them and monitor my health daily through this watch. I only take it off every ten days to charge. I can't imagine people preferring a fruit watch over a Garmin Fenix. There is no comparison.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Features, Buggy Software This watch has great features, but I have had almost every version of the Fenix, and all have had sketchy software at launch but the 6 has been the worst by far. Garmin blames it on Apples iOS changes but I have had no bluetooth connection issues with any of the other myriad devices I own, that connect through bluetooth, and use apps to control them. I have already had to do a hard rest on this one. If you customize your watch faces and data fields I highly suggest you take photos of the screens so you can easily redo them if you need a full reset. To Garmin's credit they will eventually get it working with reliability but their teething issues are painful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An upgrade over the already great Fenix 5 I purchased my Fenix 6X Pro about a month ago and I am very happy with it. I had a Fenix 5 before and the 6 has matched and improved upon that previous generation. The one thing that stands out is PacePro Pacing Strategies, it’s like having a coach during my run. The display is beautiful and the menu scrolling is an improvement, I can see all high level information quickly without drilling down into a menu option. The battery saving options is comprehensive and useful for those extended periods without being able to charge the wearable. Non-Fenix 6 “sort of” is that some badges are watch specific (Marvel/Star Wars), and badge hunting is a big motivator for me, I wish they e made those available to all wearables instead. Spread the badge love.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love This Watch First watch is big (a trade off I’ll make for the great battery life). That said I don’t have a large wrist and find it comfortable. Most important to me GPS and heart rate accuracy. I find both to very good. My first run heart rate was high. I found with a slight tightening of the band this was fixed (you don’t have to choke your wrist...).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots of Data Screens, Nice design & Sharp Looking I debated between a Sunnto 9 Baro and Fenix 6x for almost 2 months. After making my decision, I went with the fenix 6x and I have extremely pleased. This watch is solid, well designed, comfortable, and really not oversized for the average wrist. It has many features that will allow you to create better workout plans, routes for either running, biking, hunting or where you want to go or fo using the GPS mapping system. - This product is awesome ! - Michael

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bigger viewing area I had the phoenix 5X before purchasing the 6X sapphire edition. I wasn’t sure if I should upgrade or not but after reading a few other reviews I decided to go for it. I am certainly happy that I purchased the new 6X sapphire. My eyes aren’t as young as they used to be so sometimes seeing the smaller numbers on the screen are kind a hard for me since they are a little blurry on my old 5X. The new 6X has a higher resolution screen and I can actually see the font better. Just being able to see the screen without glasses is worth every penny in my opinion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unbelievable! I bought this about 5 weeks ago using reward dollars from a credit card. I previously had an Epix and it was okay at best, but the new Fenix 6X sapphire is amazing! From the clarity of the display to how well the software functions, to the fact that everything I have used it for so far has been flawless for me. My only hesitation in purchasing was the price, even though in a sense it was free. It is a lot money for a watch but it has encouraged me to wear it all the time which is a drastic change because I have not worn a watch for most of my life. I really like the sleep monitor, the ability to monitor O2 saturation while I sleep, and the many other features that are to many to list. Even though the price is higher than I like, I have to say that I would recommend this watch to anyone who has the budget and need for such a device. I would hesitate to buy this if I had to make payments on it or couldn't pay for it upfront. I would also say that if I had other gear needs (backpacking is what I purchased it for) that I would upgrade other gear first and add this when it makes sense.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great to wear all day and night I bought the watch after having used for 4 years another device that needed yearly, fortunately under guarantee, substitution. Am really impressed with the quality, the battery life and got used to the app after some time. Would be great if WiFi pairing could be made via the app instead on the watch. Have some minor issues reading the dial without glasses. Some kind of magnification could be a great thing. Overall - would buy the watch again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best GPS watch on the market What can I say, this is the biggest, baddest multisport watch on the market. I use the tracking functions on this watch on a near daily basis, and after three generations of the Fenix line I can unequivocally say this is the best. The battery life is incredible, the display a very nice upgrade from the 5, and I've been enjoying the new running features like PacePro. I have so many good things to say about this device, but there are others that will probably say them better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Options on Options Been looking at this watch for a couple months. finally, I made the decision to purchase one. Soon as I put it on, I knew this was the watch I've been needing and wanting. The menu features and the layouts are nice. Its comfortable to wear and even though 51mm might sound HUGE, Its just a perfect size. The band is breathable and has some stretch to it. Another plus is the battery life. You can make it last for as long as you need. I dislike other smartwatches that need to recharge nightly. Kind of discouraging to wear when you have to charge all the time. Not the Fenix 6x. If you've been debating on getting this watch, don't let the price discourage you. There is a ton of technology in it, features and options that will bring you to realize that this is the last watch anyone can want. I haven't wore any of my other watches since.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Love It, very advanced beyond most! I had to wait and save when I first discovered the Garmin Fenix line of watches and I am finally able to own at the level of 6x Pro. I expected a rotating bezel and a touch screen but after reading as to why , I get it. This time piece isnt made for the everyday Joe but for the everyday adventures. I'm not saying it's not nice enough to wear to the office because you can quickly slap on a nice work style band and go to the office and as soon as your off work switch that out for your fire red band and go for a run or hike or even a mountain climb! This Computer really rocks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Battery, Great Screen, Useful metrics! I bought this watch a few months ago and have enjoyed using it ever since. Coming from the Felix 5X plus the new screen is a welcome addition, as is the extended battery life. With pulse ox enabled during sleep and at least 3 outdoor runs a week, the battery lasts around 11 days without fail. I do enjoy the new training and productivity statistics as well. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprised by the quality and funtionality. When I first considered buying a smart watch, it was a toss up between the Garmin F6 and the apple watch. I needed the watch to be able to run the Komoot app and properly provide GPS directions while on off road terrain and trails. As a MTB and hiker those features were the most important for me. I also could not utilize the touch screen capabilities do to wearing gloves while riding. So right from the get-go the Garmin Fenix 6 was the watch for me. After putting the Garmin F6 to the test, I am highly impressed with the capabilities it possess. I have been able to track the weather radar, get turn by turn navigation on the trails. I know exactly when sunrise and sunset is each and everyday. I am also able to track my sleeping habits, the amount of steps I take each day and more important my heart rate between and during workouts for peak performance. The Garmin F6 has even more to offer then what I have been able to test, but at this current point and time, I love this watch! I highly recommend it to anyone living an active and productive lifestyle. You will not be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great except......... Most important aspect to me is consistent GPS accuracy. Still working with features but on trail runs it measures 10% shorter than my old Garmin 920xt. Aside from the lack of GPS accuracy, the watch is GREAT! So many great features that work seamlessly. As long as you are willing to learn, the watch tools provide great information. I can now have music, check heart rate, etc. very pleased in this respect. So what I do now is wear my new F6x on one wrist for music and features and the old 920xt on my other wrist for GPS readings. Seems I paid a lot for what amounts to a radio.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don’t buy Fenix 6x Sapphire Here’s the problem with this watch first of all when they told you 32 GB I connect my IQ app is show me your storage is full so I called tech-support they say the app is not working correctly use the computer so I use the computer and show me 16 GB so I called him a game and I told him what’s going on with my 32 GB they said GPS takes so much of a storage so you are just going to receive 16 GB and iconic they gain any show me 20 GB so I was so confused what’s going on with the storage how much memory I have in my watch for such an expensive watch Garmin should do way better job for communication between the watch and the computer I pay almost $1000 for this watch and nothing works correctly and it’s so complicated the GPS and the battery life the first I got it issue 31 days another day drop more and after I just organize my stuff inside the watch without downloading anything it dropped to 19 days after full charge. After one hour on the hold with the tech-support they could not figure that out too so I just hung up the phone and I was so disappointed and I say you know what I’ll return this watch and I have the watch only for 5 days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from “Very Versatile watch” While this is my first Garmin watch I can say that I’m really enjoying what it has to offer. The battery life is the most amazing battery life I’ve had for a smart watch. Given that it doesn’t have an OLED display and I’m not using other application other than music and GPS tracking at the moment. I think the display is pretty and the weight of the watch is surprisingly light for its size. While if you’re looking for a more interactive “smart watch” Apple or Samsung type watch this is not geared around there. The athletic features are nice. I think that the price for this watch however makes it a difficult pickup because not everyone is just willing to drop nearly 900-1000 on a watch on any given day. Rated 5 out of 5 by from It will make you sad to take it off! Once I found the correct spot on my arm, I got readings in keeping with the gym equipment. Given it's size, it takes a bit of attention to keep it there. I had a 5x, but I wanted to be able to read the face without my glasses so the 6x really helped with that. The fonts aren't bigger that I've noticed, but there is more space between info modules making them more distinct, thus easier for me to read. Also in darkness, the 5x screen blacks tended to be awash in light as well. My beloved quickly claimed the 5x. I had been wearing a Suunto ABC, and loved it. But I especially wanted sleep data, and Garmin had the best offerings that I discovered. I tried Fitbit, but I spent most of my time struggling with connection issues. The Garmin connects with my Samsung Android easily, and my Samsung buds too. Overall, I love the watch. The features are amazing, and the software is great. I've noticed I'm saddened at even the thought of taking the watch off. So yes, I'm incredibly happy with the 6x.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from one of the best watches I have ever owned I "upgraded" my Approach S60 to the Fenix 6x when my S60 died. There is a lot to like about this watch. Heart rate monitor, same sort of golf GPS app as the S60 had, more accurate step count, etc. I miss the touch screen from my S60, but other than that am happy with the 6x...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than expected great improvement over Fenix5 Fenix 6X Pro Sapphire has the black screen you expect. Integration with iPhone is very good. I gave up on my Apple Watch and was concerned I would miss it... No, I love the Fenix, much more masculine design and love all the functionality. Battery is way better too. Awesome watch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Watch I just received this watch four days ago. This was a slight upgrade from my 5x plus. I finally used it to record an activity and the performed flawlessly. So far I’m glad that I purchased this. I looked and read many reviews prior to purchase and most people were saying that the features were very minimal over the 5x plus. To me the upgrades seem better to me. I’m really enjoying my purchased and I don’t regret it at all. Another fine product from Garmin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Has everything, maybe too much ! I am very pleased with my 6X pro. But it has a lot of things I will never use which I had expected. I find the learning curve a little steep but very happy with all the widgets I am using.. Not all the Garmin support people are fully educated in the capabilities of the watch. But overall very pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5 stars is a stretch. Its a 4 that grows to a 5 I've had experience with all the Fenix watches. I was quite pleased with the 5x and thought I would have it much longer. Then the Fenix 6x came out. As an ultra runner, earth friendly human, and gear head. I wanted to Solar version. I think I'll have to wait until that is perfected more. The 60hr battery life with GPS usage was the 100% A++ reason I switched from the 5x. A close second is the bigger, easier to read display. The Fenix watches always have more bells and whistle and most need or want. 6x is no difference, but I find myself using some of the fitness monitoring more than I have in the past. Pros: - best in class battery life - superior software variety and customization - oh so many watch faces - 3rd party apps - Garmin connect is actually pretty nice now Cons: - like all new garmin watch release, its plagued with firmware issues (but they have always eventually worked out the bugs. Early adopters suffer the most in these growing pains) - GPS accuracy is on pair with other wrist worn GPS, but still could/should be improved. - watch price - accessory pricing - easy/direct support contact

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great watch packed with everything you could need. This is a great product. I've had them all and each model gets a bit stronger. I mainly use mine as a fitness watch and it could use some help in the way it calculates calories used, but other than that I love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Enjoying the dedicated features I've been wearing the 6x for a little over a month and enjoy the features and look it offers. I previously had an iWatch, but didn't need all of the features and wanted something dedicated to my preferences and looked more masculine. For the price it would more convenient if the 6x included: Touch screen rather than buttons Backlight is too dim Nicer band options I wear dress shirts each day to work and watch is too large to button cuffs, so cannot wear during the day.

I have been using this watch for over a month now and it is awesome the only issue is connectivity to Garmin Connect on my phone is a little spotty but this is a feature I am obsessed with and Garmin is working on it. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid upgrade from fenix 5 The new features, screen size (more screen less bezel) and battery life are outstanding. It tracks some really interesting and insightful things (body battery, respiration, pulse ox, etc). I did have some struggles with getting the firmware update installed, it didn't seem to want to work through the app/wifi no matter what I did, so I ultimately needed to purchase a usb-c dongle to get my watch plugged into my MacBook pro. Maybe a purchase option moving forward could be traditional usb or usb-c charger/cable? It would be a nice option for a new $850 smart watch. I think a lot of your market for this device may encounter the same obstacle and would appreciate the option. Or just make it simpler through the app (many consumers are working exclusively with phones/tablets for general computer use, a growing trend). One thing that would make me really happy for a future upgrade would be if my data screen selections for activity tracking could save and port over when I do a reset on the watch, or even purchase a new one. This seems like something that could be added into Garmin Connect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Improvements! I owned a Fenix 5x and loved the watch but the larger screen and improved software interface on the 6X Pro is amazing. Overall the watch has the same fit and feel. The updated user interface both as a smartwatch and activity tracker is the icing on the cake. Better scrolling features, battery management, options that are more easily accessible at the start of activities and more data viewable on a single screen during activities. I love the upgrade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost Perfect I bought a Fenix 6x to replace my Fenix 3HR specially because: - It has improved Battery Life - I can listen to music in the gym without carrying my phone with me - The Quickfit bands allow me to wear a leather band in the office and a nylon band in the pool/gym - Mobile payment, and - the addition of Garmin workouts Overall I had looked at the Apple Watch but decided against it because the Garmin is more durable, more technologically advanced, lasts longer on a charge, and doesn’t have a touch screen (which is silly on something you wear). The Fenix would be perfect if (and hopefully it will happen) it integrated with more third party apps (specifically Aaptiv, Fitbod, and YouTube music)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best full-function exercise/outdoors watch! Over the last two+ weeks I have had my Fenix 6x Sapphire watch, I have found it to be very much what I have been seeking in a watch for exercise, training and outdoor activities. The battery life is phenomenal if you just keep the default power manager settings and do not connect to WiFi (I did not sync any music, so I did not see a need to make a WiFi connection). The estimated 21 days of battery life is very accurate. One item of note: if you turn on PulseOx (all day) you will drop to 10 days of battery life immediately. The activity recording takes a little getting used to, but once you get comfortable with the button sequence, it is actually pretty simple. In the past, I did not sleep with my activity tracker on, as it was awkward feeling. The Fenix 6x Sapphire is very comfortable (for me) and has allowed me to gain sleep metrics information (vital, IMO, to keeping a healthy and low-stress life). My only nit-pick is the "Now" or "Hi/Lo" temp widget on watch face does NOT seem to ever sync data between smartphone (Garmin Connect App) and the watch. I have searched the web for solutions, but have not yet found one. I would like to have a quick-glance opportunity to know what the forecast Hi/Lo temp is OR the "Now" temp based on wherever I am at the time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Garmin Fenix 6X Pro Review This morning at 6:01 the battery life indicator said I had 5 days battery life, at 7:54 it said I had 4 days of battery life, at 9:20 it said I had 3 days of battery life, and at 10:27 this morning it said I had 2 days of battery life. I have not changed any of the settings. Despite numerous syncs between the Garmin Connect application on my iPhone and the watch, the weather widget does not work on the watch. I have turned off the bluetooth on my iPhone, and I have turned off the watch a number of times. I removed the device from the Connect application only to find that I had to setup Garmin Pay again. Why is there a Garmin Connect application, a Garmin Connect IQ application, a Garmin Earthmate application, a Garmin Connect website, and a Garmin Express program? While staying in the same place for a number of hours I noticed both the altimeter and barometer readings drop. The air pressure was surely dropping as the weather got worse and the storm alert worked, but if anything the device should have thought the elevation had increased, since elevation and air pressure are inversely related and not directly related. I thought the altimeter would be more accurate; at my house I’ve got altimeter readings from the 300s to the 500s feet. The NFC contactless payments technology works fine, and there are other features I like, but after spending $750.00, I am disappointed and underwhelmed. I spent that price so I wouldn’t have to deal with these issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Watch - TERRIBLE syncing! I am a long time Garmin wearable user (forerunners & Fenix not mentioned Edge 500,800,100,& 1030) and so this is not a user issue. The watch is great! Cool features etc but it WILL NOT sync via Bluetooth with the mobile Connect App. It is connected , and shares HR, steps, calories, etc with the app but any activity hangs up the sync! Removed/reinstalled; Bluetooth On/Off; Reboot phone -doesn't matter. Please note this is NOT the common iOS 13 issue as I stayed with iOS 12. Only work around is either Wifi sync and cable sync with Garmin Express. Once again Garmin released a Not Ready for Prime Time product. That is a No Go for a $845 watch!! Garmin fix your firmware ASAP or it gets returned!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from RETURNED: Poor Screen The screen on the 6x Pro I received was absolutely horrible. Very washed out, poor color detail, and the worst contrast I have ever seen on a screen. I set the watch up and everything seemed to function properly, but there is no way I could have looked at that screen every day. I returned it within hours of setting it up because I just could not look at that screen on what is supposed to be a premium wearable. I bought a 6x Pro Sapphire that will be delivered tomorrow. Those are supposed to have better quality screens so hopefully I will be able to keep it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I wish I could do all the things my 6X could do! I bought my Fenix for one specific purpose and it wasn't something inherent like triathlon activities. I downloaded a specific third-party app and am using it often but in doing so found other apps, faces, widgets etc., that takes the ability level to even greater heights. It takes time to master the watch and Garmin software but it's been fun getting to know my new best friend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible Activity Tracker, Mediocre Smart Watch Love this device for long backpacking trips (UltraTrack is fantastic). Being able to view elevation plot data on your wrist is terrific. HR, sleep, and movement data are superior to nearly all smart watches, primarily due to the Fenix’s 14-15d battery life. Chief compliant: interface with phone (iPhone X) hasn’t been a wonderful experience in the last month. Could be an update problem, but weather data seemingly never updates to the watch. Activity data often has to be manually synced, assuming the watch and phone are communicating that day. I've reached out to Garmin support, only to find their recommendations are to simply restart both devices, restart BT, and entirely re-pair the two devices. It certainly has become a cumbersome task to do on a weekly basis for a device at this price point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So much potential/works great when it works So many potentially great features packed into a watch. Preface the review by saying i went from a Fenix 3 to Fenix 5 to Fenix 6x. Each watch has delivered incrementally better features (and battery life). Each watch eventually had issues (HR not close, elevation way off, battery life decline) but this issues usually popped up after 1.5-2 years of heavy training use (so worth the money). The Fenix 6x has been a bit buggy from the beginning unfortunately. HR was supposed to get an upgrade but has been off +20BPM...i understand optical HR is not the best but usually use it as a relative gauge. Open water swim has been way off. Literally swam a measured 1KM and the watch was never close (usually 150M off)...pace, as a result, for OWS was always off. The latest issue has been the syncing. In October 2019 (not sure if the iOS update is the issue) the activity synicng to the Garmin app would be a bit buggy where once a week it wouldn't work (so i would plug it into the computer). But recently and more specifically, the longer workouts (anything over 2hrs+) just do not sync. My longer bike rides leading up to an IM triathlon all had to be done via physical connection to computer. Note, this was never an issue with prior generation Fenix watches for me. Once again, don't know if it is related to the iOS updates that have been occuring. Regardless, it's been discouraging to have such a great piece of potential equipment that is buggy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cool Watch. Horrible Software! I have owned my watch now for a month or two. The watch itself is cool. Lighter than the fenix 5x Pro. But I have had nothing but issues with the software of this watch. Serious lag in button response. I have even experienced no response at all to button presses. I have had to hard reset this watch more than a dozen times in the last month than I ever have with the previous model. Garmin inadvertently created a bug with their software update, that breaks the ability to upload your activities using the connect app. I have been waiting for almost a month for the issue to be fixed and released. Sorry for the negative review, but I am very disappointed with the newest addition to the wearables line.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GPS track much worse than FR235 I retuned the expensive Fenix 6X Pro because tracking was worse than my Forerunner 235. While the FR235 shoed 16.96 to 17.04 mikes for an out and back 17 mile run, the Fenix showed a range from 16.77 to 17.10 miles. Since most of the features in the Fenix are based on distance, the additional features are not worth the money if distance is off. Yes, I compared GPS only, GPS + GLONAS, GPS + Galileo, Every second recording vs smart recording. Nothing helped. After a week, I gave up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features for fitness enthusiasts I bought this a month ago and could not be happier. Tracks tons of data for all your outdoor (and indoor) activities, and the battery life is amazing, lasting anywhere from 2 to 3 weeks for me before needing a recharge. Maps option is great, but I think the screen is still a little small for other than occasional use, or day hiking when you don't have a backpack with a larger GPS. I bought this because I am a Geographer, and no one I know would use anything but a Garmin GPS unit if their lives depended on it while out in the field taking samples. So I went with Garmin for my watch as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing capabilities I bought this watch about two weeks ago and love it the only complain I may have is the screen is a little laggy. When I hold a button down to open a menu it takes about 4 seconds until it pops up. Other then that everything is amazing. GPS and heart rate has been spot on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Value. I bought this watch a few months ago and it seems to do pretty much everything you could want in a smartwatch. It has Gps/Gasnoss, blood pressure monitor, altimeter. Barometer. Compass, temperature gauge, step counter. Blood oxygen level, maps and many other features. It can be configured to monitor just about any exercise you can imagine and even help keep you from getting lost when your in the woods. It links go your phone with Garmin Connect and can even monitor your sleep. All in all I'd have to say that it's a pretty impressive piece of technology. I highly endorse it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from User Interface/System Support Needs Work I’ve owned the fenix 6x for about a week. The steps to pair wireless earbuds and to add music are nearly absent and I had to resort to searching numerous forums and videos in order to learn how to use a lot of the features. After hours of research, the result was that the fenix 6x is not compatible with my operating system (OS) which is iOS 13.3. I would also suggest adding which OS is compatible with your products either on your website or on the box. I will be returning this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Change the way you Train This watch has changed the way I train. Everything you need is readily accessible and customizable. The wrist heart rate pick up is very user friendly...I was thinking I would have to get a chest strap; not so! The phone app is complimentary and really puts your training picture in a simple easily read format. Great job Garmin! Love the Fenix!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic I was gifted the watch after loving my 5x for almost 3 years. I was unsure if I needed any new features or was going to be impressed with anything besides a new one. Wow! I love it. The overall new menu to scroll down in and then click to open and expand to all the data is great. it just seems more logical now, I don’t feel like I got a new watch and get lost. I feel like I know what I want to find and go find it . The music feature is easy to figure and sync with Amazon music . Garmin pay was easy to add as well, so was connecting 2 pairs of headphones. All works really good. I’m very happy with the watch. It’s not just a model number change, it’s a nice overall and upgrade to the whole operating system,.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Garmin Software and Connectivity Issues I have owned several Garmin Watches. I have this Fenix 6X AND a Fenix 6. Garmin is experiencing problems with syncing and connectivity since Garmin Connect Mobile 4.24 was issued, on iOS 13.1.3 at least. Garmin needs to work on these issues for its users. I am within the return window on both of these watches and will consider returning if not resolved. Many Garmin users on Garmin's forums are reporting these problems, as well as other bugs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 1st time owner I am new to the Garmin world and this watch is over the top. A lot of information and a great supporting community. The only complaint I have is that the band it comes in, has plastic in it. Paying for so much for this type of watch, you should be given multiple bands and not having to purchase after market bands that cost a 1/4 of the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Stats I have had my Fenix 6 for about 2 weeks. I love the stats and the features. however, I did run into one bug when the coaching did not load onto the watch. After a few days it finally loaded and has been working fine since then. The other issues I have found is that with Gym workouts there is no HITT function. My workaround is to simply select Strength, however, it does not cound the reps properly. Overall despite those issues, I love the watch. I previously owned a Fenix 3, Forerunner, and a Fitbit. This is the best!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Many options to maintain your health! The design, ergonomics, weight have surprised me, their software is very intuitive, but what left me with a lot to be desired were the quality of the graphics, I bought the watch with the aim of improving my health as a tool to achieve my goals In that sense, but the graphic section leaves a lot to be desired when you pay so much for a product that is supposed to have the latest state-of-the-art technology, it must be accompanied by a screen with better graphics, otherwise the watch met my expectations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Sophisticated & Complex Watch!! I absolutely love this watch. Only had it less than a week as of this writing this review. Tons to still learn and figure out. Every option offered is endless. I knew I would love the watch on the surface even before buying, and certain I will further love it more once I can figure the functions out that apply to myself. Safe in saying the vast majority of functions I will never use. I will probably be lucky to use 15-20% of the watches functionality. My biggest frustration is where and how to learn everything I need? It comes with a small thick instructional booklet, but only seems to cover the surface of most functions. I’ve had to turn to YouTube several times to learn little by little. Also, turned to Garmin’s website some and other social tech platforms online. I would love a in depth tutorial about every option/feature the watch is capable of. I mean for the price of $850, to say the least it should. However, the downside to that request is it would probably be 24-48HRS long!! I think for the price the init should come with a much longer charging cable too! I have big plans for the use of my Fenix 6 X Sapphire, but need to really put some time into learning it beyond the basics because there is nothing basic about this watch at all! I was SUPER lucky to get my Garmin Fenix 6 X Sapphire FREE!! A very, very sweet deal!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It does a lot...quite well. It is amazing how much technology is packed into this watch. But you have to acknowledge its limits. The heart rate will not be as accurate as a strap-on HRM and the watch can’t always tell you’ve hit the ball again, so it may record your first two golf shots as a one 350 yard drive! I keep upgrading to the newest models and they keep getting better !!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great purchase After extensive research on wearable's I decided to pull the trigger on the fenix 6X and couldn't be more happier. The interface with spotify, purchases, emails, text, and tracking all my activities (Running, Hiking, Golf, Rowing) has been awesome. I am looking forward to see how the Skiing app works in a few months. The battery life is incredible as well as how quickly it recharges. I would recommend this watch to anyone who is active and enjoys the motivation of keeping track of fitness activities and wellness (Heart, Pulse, and sleep). Definitely well worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Way Too Much Capability! Yikes! The only thing this device does to do is tuck me in at night and do my laundry. What gives, Garmin?! Believe me, I get it about the laundry, but how much harder can it be to simply tuck me in at night? All kidding aside, I've owned my 6x for only about 60 days and I am STILL discovering new ways that my 6x can assist me in my rather mundane adventures. AND, much, much improved over my recently sold fenix 3HR that was struggling with battery life and simply many less features. As I did with the 3HR and the one before that, I'm likely to wear this 6x 24/7/365 and discover new useful features along the way for several years until I decide to upgrade to the fenix 9x or 10x. I don't know who at Garmin is running this fenix line of devices and she or he is way much smarter than me! GARMIN RULES!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HR does not work!! This was my second Fenix 6X Pro. DO NOT BUY IT! HR not accurate barely ever goes above 100ish even I do 150. It does it on hiking app as well as navigation and sometimes just randomly on a standard watch face. Tons of reviews from others -read it... they should pull the watch from selling it until they fix this issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love my fenix I upgraded from a fenix 5X to a 6X. I use my fenix every day. It had completely displaced my mechanical watch. I can't remember the last time I actually wore my Omega Seamaster. The 6X is a solid upgrade. It included all of the key things that I was looking for: vastly improved battery, power management profiles, larger display, faster, music, NFC payments, continuous calibration of altimeter... Issues: It's not perfect. The sports functionality is solid but there are some teething pains with early firmware around other things: - Support for Spotify was recent fixed, but Amazon music provider is still unable to download. However the "iPod" functionality works great and replaces my old iPod shuffle completely - Sometimes headphones will not connect without a reboot - The Alt Time Zones widget has wrong/missing time zones for Africa that the old on on the 5X has. Hint: most of Africa does not use DST! - Bluetooth sync is less reliable than the 5X. I think there are issues with both iOS 13 and the f6X Bluetooth. Sometimes killing Garmin Connect gets sync working; sometimes toggling the BT phone connection on and off on the watch will unstick it; and sometimes toggling BT on the phone does it F6 major upgrades: - Approximately double the battery life relative to equivalent fenix 5 plus models - Power management profiles; ability to switch profiles during an activity and automatically when power drops to a point you chose; power quoted in hours or days of charge remaining rather than percent. - larger display: +17% for f6 and +36% for f6X along with larger numbers in old layouts and new layouts to put more data per page - The f6X has a lot more processing power and is a lot faster at switching views and loading maps Minor stuff: - continuous calibration of barometric altimeter during activities using elevation data from the maps. (Jury still out on whether this now produces repeatable, accurate elevation data) - new HR sensor which works while swimming - blood oxygen sensor which works when not exercising. - new race pacing thing and hill pacing thing - new voodoo FirstBeat metrics which are fun, but take with a box of salt - The new built-in timer has a memory of preset timers, which is a delightful convenience - The new widget "glances" views are a huge improvement —- three at a time - Some designers put a lot of effort into the new watch dials and hands. It shows.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not a good upgrade...stuck with 5X Sapphire Purchased the Fenix 6x Sapphire edition as an upgrade to my Fenix 5X Sapphire and ended up returning it. Not sure if I just received a bad unit or what but couldn’t follow a route I created, took a long time to connect to GPS, and I think 10 days was the most it would a charge even with most of the services turned off to maximize life. I purchased directly from Garmin and was offered a replacement but I chose to return it. The price keeps going up and the software/user experience doesn’t seem to keep pace. I’ll stick with my 5X until it dies and will figure out if I’ll stick with Garmin or use another manufacturer. I spend a lot of time in the mountain wilderness running and hiking and while I usually know where I am, in the past if I have veered off course the 5X would notify me based on my predefined route. I can’t risk the watch failing and getting lost which is what led me to ultimately return it. Hope they improve future versions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Battery management is impressive! Been using for a couple weeks. Had an Instinct which was OK, but battery life was minimal and no map capability. The 6X (larger screen and battery) is a nice upgrade, although at a significant cost. I mainly trail run and hike/climb, so I don't use all the training features. The map access is nice for navigation (ski resort trail option is nice). All GPS and sensors are fairly accurate with some adjustments, which is normal. The battery management is a vast improvement and I haven't had to charge since buying (up to 3 weeks if not using GPS all the time). Can't say if it's worth the $750, but I did opt not to purchase the previous model and cheaper Fenix 5, which some reviews say had some issues. There is also a sapphire version $$ with scratch-resistant screen (I did buy some screen protectors for my model, but it also has Gorilla glass). There is also a solar version $$$, but read it doesn't add much to the battery overall. The model 6 has smaller screen and is only $50 cheaper, so if your OK with a large watch, the 6X is worth the extra cash. I think Garmin would sell more of these if they were priced in the $500 range. Hope this review helps. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase once the sticker shock wore off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic overall watch. Software needs love. I bought this around two weeks ago. It has been absolutely fantastic. Does everything and more than I need it to and gave me the features that my automatic watches couldnt nor apple watch. The only issue I have is software related. From an iphone it refuses to sync weather data as states unreliable syncing at other instances. This is a known issue with every garmin fitness tracker and remains to be an issue. I hope it gets resolved because everything else is perfect!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Poor Bluetooth connection I bought the watch mainly for the ability to listen to music as I run. While running, it cuts in and out periodically. When walking, forget it. It's horrible. Logically, the watch is closer to the earbuds with running due to wrist/arm position. Walking, they're down at your side... The furthest away from each other. If I raise my wrist next to the ear buds the music plays uninterrupted. I tested the same feature with Samsung Active 2 (wife's watch) and it streamed MUCH better. So only conclusion is the Fenix has a problem with signal quality

I am technical and was a little hindered by the sequence of buttons necessary to operate the watch. But I pretty much concurred the whole set up in a week. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rock Solid! This watch is bullet proof. Just to give you my background, I’m in the Marine Corps and spend most of my time in the field. I also hike and hunt recreationally in the back country. The battery is amazing-last plenty of time for what I use it for (but always have a backup). I’ve used it in conjunction with MGRS and UTM maps and it’s rock solid. Very accurate dependable. I would strongly recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a dependable piece of NAV. On the flip side, I never recommend going out in the field without a map and compass as a backup and/or reference.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This checks all the boxes for me. Awesome watch! I upgraded from a fenix 5+ and formerly owned a 920XT and FR235. The improvements made in this watch are substantial to me. Although I like the larger display size and the long battery life, the improved training metrics and addition of the body battery are my favorite improvements. I believe that my previous Garmins all overestimated my ability in the race predictor. The improvement in the Firstbeat metrics now yield realistic results. Now I can readily see how my training is impacting my potential race times. And I'm also amazed at how accurate the Body Battery seems to be. Overall, I am very happy with this watch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A lot of money for not so good quality I had a forerunner 935 for 2 years that I paid around 500 for. I wanted a fenix 6x sapphire and I have to say I miss my forerunner. My biggest complaint is the heart rate Inaccuracy that now requires me to wear a chest strap for runs in addition to everything else. Never had this issue with my forerunner and could opt out of the straps for a run activity. The band on this fenix is also very uncomfortable you can’t find that sweet spot between too tight or too loose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good stuff with some upgrades needed I bought the Fennix 6x Sapphire for backcountry trekking, surfing, hiking & various sports I participated in. I spend 85% of my days outside in the harsh elements. The Garmin watch holds up very well against this. I've swam with it- backpacked with it & performed various training routines with it already in the short 10 days I've had it. While in the Sequoias/ High Sierra's along a 41 mile through hike in king's canyon- I was out for 6 days. The watch was a crucial tool to help navigate the rough trails, however the gps signal and distance remaining numbers were at times very slow causing poor tracking stats. This combined with the inability to command the zoom & move functions of the topo map with touches instead of buttons made for a very frustrated experience. Overall, I like the watch & it's many customizable functions. The GPS signal frequency issue & lack of touch screen does give me a reason to consider a competitive product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quite Functional I am happy with all of the functions that the 6x offers and to be honest it has much more that I actually use. The functions that I do use have worked well so far. I opted for the Sapphire for its durability and it has resisted the occasional bumps that it has encountered. I am not pleased that this model isn't compatible with iOS in that the device doesn't show up on my Mac and I am not able to directly upload .gpx files to my 6x. Garmin Support informed me that this is due to the installed music app and how the Mac interprets it. Tech Support was very helpful in providing a work around using Connect so I am going to keep it. I do a lot of MTB riding and being able to upload the various trails from sites like Trailforks that I am not familiar with is a must. Hopefully Garmin will be able to correct this issue and provide a software update in the near future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't get it to sync I recently bought this recently - and then some days later got the new iPhone 11. I synced it once and then it fell out of sync and no matter what I do, I can't get it to sync again. I've deleted and installed the Garmin app three times, I've re-set the watch to factory settings, I've turned my phone on and off each time. NOTHING. Amazing that this thing won't work with the most widely installed mobile operating system in use in America.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More features than most can use! I've had this watch for several months now after upgrading from a Forerunner 235. The battery life and life of features are fantastic. Unfortunately, I find myself mainly using the training status, tracking stats, and music. Most of the other activities I have yet to use (golf, maps, skydiving), but that's not to say I won't. The size I can see being big for some, but I have large wrists and it doesn't bother me much. I'm not sure the solar power face is worth the upgrade other than the bling factor. I regularly go 2 weeks without recharging using music and GPS 3-4 times per week. I really enjoy running without a phone attached to me. Only complaint is an odd sync issue that is intermittent, but I'm fairly certain it has more to do with my phone. You could probably do fine with the 245 or 645 forerunners, but if you want everything and the kitchen sink, this is the watch to get.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Fitness in the market Worth all the pennies I threw into this. I started out with the Fenix 6 pro, which I really liked, but saw that I could pay a few more dollars for a bigger screen, higher resolution, longer battery life, sapphire screen, dlc bezel, and a leather strap ($100 value), AND it came with the black silicon strap as well. The Fenix 6 pro had the blue screen tint to it, wasn’t horrible but wasn’t very clear and I honesty didn’t know the difference between that and a screen that actually looked clear and worked right without the blue screen tint. The fenix 6x Pro Sapphire is worth the upgrade, such a better deal for the amount of money being spent on this. If you have the money, which I assume you do since you’re reading this review, get this watch. Felt like I had a really nice Mustang GT and had some strong features, was satisfied with it. BUT when I returned it and got the Felix 6x Sapphire it felt like I stepped up to a Ferrari honestly, just higher quality all around. The features are amazing, not hard to learn at all. The data this watch gives you at your fingertips is insane! I love looking at my daily data and seeing how my lifestyle, workouts, and calories are actually influencing my health. One last thing I’d like to point out, the HR monitor is ACCUARTE. Sorry for using all caps but there’s been complaints about it and as an avid runner, I can say the HR monitor on this watch is spot on every time, very reliable. I’ve tested it manually by checking my pulse and calculating my actual HR, right every time. It’s more accurate than my chest strap, so yes this does do everything. Pairs perfectly with my Jaybird headphones, sounds great, no skipping. I bought this as a bday gift to myself, was wearing an Apple Watch Series 4 until I dropped it in the gym locker room and broke it. This is absolutely better, and looks much more refined, masculine and captures infinite more data. Also, I can easily wear this watch in meetings at work and with clients and it’s passes as a dressed up watch. Get it!! Thanks Garmin for a great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Watch with ton of features Bought the Phenix 6x to replace my apple watch. I am an apple fan but very glad I switched to the Garmin Fenix 6X. I researched this watch for nearly two weeks. Lots of reviews out there both good and bad but decided to give it a try. There are so many capabilities this watch offers, it’s a bit overwhelming and took at first. I downloaded the full pdf instructions (56 pgs) and took it one step at a time and got it set up and synched is just a few hours. I am very impressed with the level of information and health stats this watch offers. i am still learning about all the features but would highly recommend this watch. i think a lot of the negative reviews are from folks that just got frustrated or did not READ all the instructions. I will update in a few months but my first impression is this is a keeper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptionally accurate GPS and amazing quality. First of all, I LOVE THIS WATCH! Although it is large, it feels light and comfortable on the wrist. The large face is not obnoxious, and is in fact welcome. It makes reading the screen much easier, especially in rough conditions or while moving over rough terrain. I used this watch this year during hunting season, and I also took my Garmin Rino 650 because I am used to it and trust it. I am happy to report the Fenix 6X and Rino 650 both showed the exact same info...meaning this watch is accurate. This gave me loads of trust in the Fenix 6X. Prior to verifying with my Rino, I had just hoped it was accurate...now I KNOW it is. I admit that I am not a runner or biker and the main reason I bought this watch is for hiking and hunting, and the GPS was my main interest; however I also really enjoy the altimeter being on my front watch face screen and I dont have to search through apps to find it. I have definitely not learned all there is to know about the feature packed Fenix 6X yet, but so far it has been intuitive and I dont feel intimidated by its vast features or how to use them. I look forward to many more adventures and many years of use from this watch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much better than the 5! I had the 5X sapphire before. I bought this one and am glad I did. Much easier to see ( seems brighter), easier to navigate features, better features overall. Battery life seems to be better. I definitely like that I can download music easier with expanded platforms. The music downloading and play features through blue tooth are not as easy as they should be though. I still think the heart rate monitor is off but overall it is an excellent piece of gear. I would highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great watch, Buggy IOS app I’ve had the Garmin Fenix 3, 5, and now 6. They keep getting better. The IOS App is great WHEN IT WORKS. Between October 20 and November 3 the app constantly required renewal, and wouldn’t download. Watch had to be paired to phone multiple times. The cause is possibly on Apple’s end. Unsure why. Always worked with hard line connection to laptop. Find your way back needs more work. Cludgy, unexplained directions. They need to work on a better display. Granted you’ll get great battery life, but good luck reading the display if you left your reading glasses at home. Again , GREAT WATCH, interface needs work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Screen is better than 5x but still not good enough Great watch as far as features go. Only real downside is the screen it just always appears to be faint or not bright enough. I understand its not supposed to be an apple watch but having had one and then this I can say I miss the clarity of that screen but I do love this watch. Cant wait for the solar option to be standard on all fenix watches. too expensive right now. but that will be incredible to have.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! So I’ve been an Apple Watch guy for a while, and while it works fine for my corporate lifestyle and the integration with all things Apple is nice, it didn’t meet my fitness and outdoor needs. I’ve had the Fenix 6x Sapphire for a week now and the Apple hasn’t touched my wrist. Fantastic for better tracking in the gym, on hikes and understanding my fitness. The GPS is unmatched and I cannot wait to get this out in the field for my deer and elk hunts this fall!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FANTASTIC! First thing I did was change the watch face to look like the time circuits from the Delorean in Back to the Future. My favorite movie. Second thing I did: EVERYTHING! Because that's exactly what this watch can do- everything. I literally don't know how to start listing all the time it can do because there are so many. Rated 5 out of 5 by from UGH........... This is a hard one. I have had an Apple watch since its inception and every version. The Garmin watch is bigger, (nicer for notifications) but the screen is hard to see at night and sometimes during the day unlike the Apple watch. Notifications are fast, GPS tracking is good and the Garmin app gives good metrics. Sadly I feel the apple watch is better for the every day office user. Garmin is better for the fitness guru that goes on hikes everyday.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fenix 6x Sorry to say that the watch was not for me. I found the watch poor to read with poor contrast on the watch face characters . Even downloading different watch faces and adjusting the back light made no difference. As the watch would also be my everyday watch I just could not get over how poor the screen was. The push buttons while intuitive are a bit out date Surely an element of touch screen technology is due? Yes the watch is packed with features and options with an excellent supporting app but let down by trying to read the screen

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loving my Fenix As a long time Fitbit user, I wanted something more. The Fenix was the right choice. The features, durability and batter life and stellar. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this watch. This is the best watch I’ve ever owned and I’m coming from an Apple watch. I bought the 6X Pro because of the battery life. So far the battery has lasted 14 days and the watch is saying I have 9 days left. I wear the watch for about 15 hours a day and shut it off at night. I use it constantly and have all the notifications coming in all day. The only issue I have with it is when I download a workout, it is very difficult to find on the watch. I’ve read in the reviews from others they have the same problem. I have a fifteen minute full body workout downloaded and I have to go into menu, find Activities and apps, enter that then scroll down to Cardio and enter that, and then scroll down again to find the workout. Very tedious and could be made much easier. I hope Garmin is working on that. I don’t mind the large size as the screen is very easy to read, especially when you have maps up. I would have rated it a full five stars if they would make the menus a little easier to navigate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what my wahoo rival couldn't Works great for bike riding. Switched from a Wahoo Rival that would never pair with my Stages dual sided power meter. The Fenix connected first time and continues to connect with no issues. My only complaint with the Fenix is the silicone band gives me a rash. Its not a Fenix only thing though the wahoo caused the same thing, but you can get different bands so not a big deal

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good features Comparing this to my Fenix3hr. The features are better for the most part. Tracks activities pretty accurately. The battery life is not as good but it is also running an ox sensor the other watch doesn't have. The vibration is not as strong and does not wake me up. The real bad is the charger. I hate the way it hooks up. I feel like I am going to break something putting it on. The older charge method was 10 fold better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Truly the ultimate upgrade I have owned four Garmin activity monitor watches. With each one I have been willing to spend a little more than I did previously. And each time I have not been unhappy with the results. This watch not only met all of my expectations, but exceeded them. I had gotten used to a touch screen interface and was be nervous about going back to buttons. What I discovered very quickly was how intuitive the design of this watch was. It was very easy to transition to its use when doing weight training or elliptical exercise. I use an Edge 1030 for cycling, but I am certain that this watch would be excellent for that purpose as well. The various other functions, particularly the widgets are really easy to use and a major upgrade over previous watches. I haven't used the navigation functions yet, but I feel confident that they will be as easy to learn to use as the rest of the watches functions. All of this is to say nothing about the aesthetics of the watch. I wore a Rolex Submariner for more than 50 years. All it did was tell the time, and that far less accurately than advertised. However, I got used to the feel of a large, heavy watch on my wrist. This is not a heavy as the Rolex, but it has sufficient heft to satisfy my need. The large screen makes it really easy to read notifications and other information with my aged eyes. The sapphire crystal is clear and beautiful, as is the Diamond-like Carbon bezel both of which are unlikely to be damaged or show wear and tear. The battery is amazing. I was used to having to recharge my earlier watches every couple of days. This watch goes on and on. The display says 21 days following a full charge, and the count down in days seems in congruence with that. Due to a couple of updates I had to plug the watch in to the computer before it needed a recharge, so I have never tested its ability to last out the full three weeks between charges, but I had already exceeded by several days the longest periods I had gone on my previous models between charges, and the watch showed more than two weeks left on the current charge. I can honestly say that I have never enjoyed owning a watch more than this one. I highly recommend it to anyone who lives and active lifestyle and wants a watch that can not only keep up, but can enhance the experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great outdoor companion Its a great sports watch. Have a ton of features. The maps are great but would love to have a touch screen and a crown to use it efficiently. GPS is nothing out of the ordinary. Does a good job tracking hikes with reasonable accuracy. Battery life is extremely good. The display looks a bit washed out especially the color black. But nothing too major for me. Waiting on fenix 7.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pacing while running all over the place I bought this a little over a month ago and have put about 145 miles of both road and trail running on it. I noticed on my first run that the pacing was really high compared to my previous watch (Sunnto AMBIT3) and my known pace. I have made multiple adjustments to the number of GPS satellites, tracking, reached out to support twice and still the same results, bad pacing. I even started to wear both watches to compare results. The only time I have found it to be spot on is when there is no or very little tree cover. This watch has some great bells and whistles but my primary activity is running so it isn't going to work for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good choice for everyday and hiking I bought this in Dec 2021 and I have been using it for a month. It was a little confusing what one to buy because it wasn't exactly clear to me if all of the Fenix 6X were pro (i.e. includes all of the maps or only the solar version). I bought the Sapphire since I wanted the durability and the Solar does not give a huge boost in battery life. It was a little tricky to figure out how to launch activities, save the data etc but once I had that figure out it seems to work great. the other apps that support the watch like Basecamp, connect, explore etc. are useful but not really straight forward to use. I have been planning a route using basecamp and I have had lots of issues with building the route, saving it, transferring it to the watch. I think this should be way more straight forward than it is. Otherwise, I like the watch, I like the large dial. The watch faces that are available are good and I am still looking for the one that really meets my needs. I think the watch is very expensive, however it does have many functions and it is a nice basic looking watch. If you want a watch that you would wear everyday and enjoy the ability to navigate your hiking route and record your activities, this meets all of the criteria.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than Apple Watch!!! As an Apple Watch user since day 1, I have to admit that I like this Watch much better! I am a paramedic/firefighter full time and in the Army Reserves, this watch is rugged enough to hold up to what I do and the battery is phenomenal!!! I have lots of features turned on and it is still lasting longer than a week before needing a charge!! Each Apple Watch I had needed to be charged every night and was rather delicate. Even with the “rugged” case and the screen protector I worried about that Watch. Now with the Fenix 6x pro, no more worries. I can do what I want when I want and have less to think about charging.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dullness of the face A little disappointed with the dullness of the face, expected it to be a lot more vibrant, the brightness is up to 100% if only they were like the watch face down loads you can install. For the money they cost I expected more like the Apple Watch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top of the line watch! Let me start by saying that this watch was received as a replacement because a wifi problem with the one i had before (it stopped working after a software update bug) so customer service is amazing they just replaced the watch after a couple of tests and it was delivered really fast. needless to say all watch features are amazing and is a must buy for athletes and fitness enthusiasts, it’s battery life stands among all other options and sports measurements precision is amazing, also music and other options work like a charm. Even after having the problem with my previous watch i would recommend the product and Garmin in general.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fenix Saphire 6x Blue screen and screen issues??? This is so disappointing, but you pay a lot for the best in class Watch to find out that the screen is washed out with blue and the Watch faces look like they were designed by a 5 year old. I expected so much more and using the great battery excuse only gets you so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from installation problems after replacement of my watch for the second time (display didn‘t show anything at all) the same problems at the installation procedure occur:the moment you want to install spotify - via internet - the watch freezes and has to be resetted. after 3 additional trials I decided to use only bluetooth connection as with the last 2 replaced watches. I only stay with garmin because it combines golf, cycling, swimming and walking in the same watch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Totally Amazing and Everything they say is true! I have only had the watch for a short time, but have used it extensively experimenting with as many of the apps as possible to become familiar with its capabilities. Everything works amazingly well, and intuitively once I got used to using buttons rather than a touch screen. However, what most amazed me is the battery life. I haven't removed any other installed apps and ran them all in one way or another. I have it connected to my phone with notifications running all of the time. Particularly in the pre-Christmas season I get and incredible number of emails and consequent notifications. My old Vivoactive 4 would have needed to be recharged within a day and a half. This watch, after 6 days, showed 74% of the battery charge still present, and 15 days before it would likely need to be recharged. It gives me a lot of confidence that it will always be ready when I need it. This is an amazing instrument worth every penny. I know that there is a new model 7 in the offing, but, frankly, I cannot imagine that there could be much more that it could offer than what this one already does. I particularly like the Sapphire crystal and DLC bezel, and found them to be worth the additional cost to me, but any model of this watch is far superior to anything else available and should be the first choice of any multisport athlete looking for a new watch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible watch! I bought this a month ago to retire a Fenix 3HR Sapphire and couldn't be happier. The capabilities of this are a significant step up from the Fenix 3 HR and the data that it provides has given me much better insights into my training and recovery. It connects flawlessly with my Concept II rower and other equipment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible Health and Adventure Device! I bought this Garmin Fenix 6x sapphire used from Swappa after the Fenix 7 was announced. I was upgrading/transitioning from the Apple Watch 5. Initially, I missed the smartwatch features of the AW5, but the trade off in battery life, number and variety of fitness activities baked in and just the improved aesthetic of have a more masculine and contemporary round watch easily outweighs the drawbacks. I also value the Garmin Connect app user interface more than Apple Fitness. I highly recommend this particular series as a great entry into the Garmin ecosystem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great GPS watch This watch is very reliable. The GPS is spot on and I use it on all my hikes through the mountains. Battery life is exceptional and charges extremely quick as well. The monitoring systems for health are also exceptional. One of the most used purchases in a while. I will eventually upgrade to the 7 if not a newer version once this one bites it. Oh and the sapphire screen is bulletproof. Slammed it many times into boulders and steel etc always thinking that it would come out with a scratch. It always came out unscathed and looking brand new.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy watch, great features, easy to customize I have been eyeing this watch for a while. Finally received it as a gift. Expensive, but very sturdy. The watch face does not scratch. The sapphire glass is recessed behind the bezel. There are a lot of features to the watch. Definitely needed to read the manual to figure out how to customize the displays. I am typical guy who hates reading manuals, but this one was worth it for the customization.

Neither Online help nor Garmin Customer Service could get the device to properly function. I returned it for a full refund. Disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can’t leave home without it. I had my Fenix 6 for about 3 weeks now. I have the X model. Thought it could be too large but it turns out to be just right. I’m 6 foot and have an average size wrist. There is a learning curve but I have learned quite a bit. I installed a watch face that’s called +40. This allows me to see the data without my readers on. I had a blast playing golf with the course right on my watch. That was awesome. Can’t wait to use it for skiing this winter. My hikes and walks are mapped out nicely. I used to have a Suunto Core, which I owned for 6 years or so. This is a definite step up. I’m sure I’ll enjoy this for years to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Amazing Prior to purchasing the Fenix 6X Pro, I watched A LOT of YouTube videos showing and comparing different products. I have recently returned to running and plan on working up to marathon+ trail running (ultras). These are typically held in areas where there is NO cell coverage, so my primary goal/function was navigation. But all of the fitness data available via the watch has been an added bonus. I've since added some additional Garmin devices to my indoor bike (Speed Sensor2 and Cadence Sensor2), as well as a Heart Monitor Pro (for accuracy)... all of which are showing up in Garmin Connect to give me an amazing view of my health and progress. I don't use this for music, so I'm getting about 6 days of normal use between charges (battery drops from 100% to 23% over that time). I wear it round-the-clock and get great data on my sleep. Life Changing!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty good, but could be better A shame it doesn't come with more sports modes. CrossFit should be one of the activities listed. I created it as a custom activity in Multisport (up to 5 sports) but it doesn't have the strength training features. The physical buttons, especially those on the side of the wrist (depending on what hand you wear it) can be pressed by wrist wraps, gloves, grips, or other equipment, and can pause your tracking. Sleep is only tracked at night, which is kind of disappointing. I slept 4PM-10PM(6 hours) the other day and it was not detected. You cannot even add a second time range of sleep when editing your sleep in the app.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Time Compensation It would be nice for Garmin to incentive users with merchandise after purchasing their expensive devices rather than just asking for feedback and wanting to just promote their product. I own the Fenix 6x, Vivoactive 4 for me and my wife, that they wouldn't want to help me out in a trade while purchasing the Fenix 6, my cycling edge 1000 and all i receive is a "help us promote our product. Just a friendly feedback!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love the features. But I'm on my second one. It's a great idea. I love the design, the size and the weight. I've loved it for a couple years now and all of a sudden it froze. Even through reset after resent, it would hint that I could wipe and use as new, but the freezing continued. It stopped responding to the computer. Stopped picking up wifi and bluetooth and GPS. The only dependable thing about this is that its weight makes it a good paperweight and, oh, anyone who picks it up will have a question or two about what a "storm alert" is ... it won't leave that screen... or when you reset it eventually goes back there... so it's also an ice breaker. Yes, through all of that I got another one. I like the form factor and sturdiness of this over the running ones and I'm fortunate to have the money to spend on it and I didn't want to lose my connect data. But if you don't have one, I'd recommend looking for cheaper options or even some of the competitors rather than this. They're catching up quickly and are more connected to a lot of the other digital services we tend to use these days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Had to exchange!! It failed after about 60 days. I had intermittent problems that became permanent. After spending a few hours on two different occasions Garmin authorized an exchange for a "reconditioned" device. A little disappointed in that considering the length of time I owned it before having problems. My son has had the same watch for sometime without issue. Here's to hoping this one works.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything except the display First the bad...the display. Mine is readable, but washed out compared to the examples shown on ConnectIQ or YouTube reviews. I contacted Garmin and sent a pic of the backlit screen. I was told this is how they are and it has to do with its ability to provide a good display in bright sunshine. I am so happy with the functionality of the watch that I will live with the weak colors of the display. The watch is great as is the Connect software and software update process.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value for all the available features. I bought this watch last month. I previously had a 5X plus. This watch has exceeded my expectations on several levels. The battery life is amazing. I mountain and gravel ride, so I go on long (multiple hour) rides and use the GPS features on the bike settings. I am able to work out all week without re-charging my battery. So far the watch seems to be tracking my metrics more accurately relating to sleep, heart rate, respiration, etc. It also is tracking my workout mileage and metrics on the bike more accurately. I only take it off to charge, so I am tracking my sleep and "body battery" levels. As usual, it is easy to navigate. I am still learning more about the watch's capabilities. Great job Garmin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost perfect I love this watch for all the reasons anyone would love this watch. The reason for 4 stars is that I'm having a hard time connecting my watch to garmin express to get the updates. It seems like the cable that came with the watch has a short or is just not very good quality so my computer doesn't always recognize my watch as connected.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New additional helpful features Previously have owned Vivoactive HR and Fenix 5. This was a welcome upgrade. Larger watch face. The case back is flatter (more wrist shaped). I wish I could have afforded the brand new solar ones but.... maybe in a year or so.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost perfect… I upgraded from a 5X because I needed the Pulse Ox feature ( I have PAH ) and didn’t want to keep wearing 2 watches. What makes it flawed is the faces I loved on the 5X are not available on the 6X. Also there should be a BATTERY SAVER feature that automatically turns off all battery draining items, kind of like an AIRPLANE MODEkind of thing.

But, have been using it daily and I enjoy the smart watch functions. The compass so far seems to be very accurate. I wish the were more widgets for hunting applications. That is the only thing that Keeps me from giving it 5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tough as Nails I have been using this watch for workouts and overall health, for which it’s outstanding. I recently took it hiking and navigated all the trails in the backcountry using just the watch. Battery life is incredible, even when using the navigation features. I also scraped and hit it against a rock while hiking but it left no mark at all! This is the 6x pro sapphire edition and it’s as tough as advertised. Don’t hesitate picking this watch up, you won’t regret it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fenix 6X Pro great so far I’ve had the watch for about 3 weeks, and have played with most of the features on it. So far, this watch has done pretty much everything I could want out of it. I will be playing with be hiking features a little more next week, as we will be doing some hiking I. Arizona. I hope it handles as expected.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Should be called a super watch, not a smart watch Going on one month so I will update at a later date. So get I love this watch and I have so many functions I still want to explore and dive into. This is my first garmin and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a watch to track and progress your training. I am thrilled with the pacepro function because I am already seeing improvements in my pace. The golf app is easy to use and it links well with the phone app. My only complaint is that the native HR metric on the watch is not nearly as accurate as the chest strap. I found this out during my workouts, but this is an easy workaround by wearing the garmin pro chest strap!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional features and great customer service I gotta give it to Garmin... they do have exceptional customer service. The first fenix 6x I bought had some buggy issues, until the batter stopped charging altogether. I tried just about every solution offered on YouTube and blogs, until I finally contacted Garmin for support. They immediately offered to replace my watch, which I received in the mail a week or so afterwards. Going forward, I will ensure I place a silicone cap on the charging port. Apparently, the accumulation of sweat and dirt affects the contacts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great watch I purchased the Fenix 6x Pro for mountain climbing, and I had no idea how many other things I'd use it for. So far, I've used it for downloading route of complicated backcountry route, and it helped me stay on track. I used it for full Ironman Triathlon, and it tracked my swim, bike, and run with detailed stats about each. And, it even reminded me to rest the next day, when I started a job. It was a steep learning curve during my first week with the watch, but I learned pretty much everything on YouTube very quickly.

Well I have to say why didn’t I do this sooner. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Watch, But……. The watch is generally good with excellent watch faces to download which give heaps of information at a glance. But it has two drawbacks - 1. sound and haptics. Haptics are generally not pronounced enough to feel them and don’t even bother to set an alarm. The sound is so quiet that you can’t hear it, even in a quiet room. 2. And the screen colours. Everything in the advertising and Connect IQ store show sharp vibrant colours. The actual watch only has pastel, faded or non vibrant colours which is a bit disappointing and makes the smaller numbers hard to read at a glance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Returned: Cracked Glass The original Garmin 6X pro I purchased chipped on the edge of the bezel shortly after purchase. I returned and upgraded to the Sapphire glass version but have issues with the HR being erratic on my new 6 Sapphire. I did not have this issue with my first watch so I am sure it is not something I am doing wrong but maybe just a glitchy unit. I will continue using the 6 Sapphire being I love the functions of the watch but for the money spent, I wish it was a little more consistent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice look but serious defects I had this watch (Fenix 6X Sapphire) for 7 months and lost it in the open ocean on a triathlon training swim. Somehow the silicone band broke open and the watch was gone in 20ft of the Pacific. Garmin told me lost watches are not covered by their warranty. Boo-hoo. Some other strange things are (1) the watch consistently underreported open water yardage. Comparing to my training partners with Forerunners 945, I always had a few hundred fewer yards even though we swim all in a group together. (2) After the latest software update a couple of weeks ago it stopped registering my swimming stroke rate. I suppose one of the settings was inadvertently changed by the update but I never figured it out before I lost it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Performer! Got this as a replacement for my Instinct, and I am super happy I did! It is such a work horse and no need to tweak everything, just wear and go! HR functionality is night and day better than the Instinct, plus getting VO2 and breathing stats in general are excellent. Being that has a bigger face, notifications are much easier to read on the go, and no issues being read with polarized sunglasses. Battery wise, with 2 activities a day, I'm generally in the lower 80's from a full charge, but put on the charger as I'm getting cleaned up from a workout and we're back to 100% without issue. I haven't connected to Spotify or any other music app yet, but certain it'll be better than the setup I have now. Maps are super crisp and clear, and GPS acquisition faster than on the Instinct. Again, can't relate how happy I am with the performance, and would absolutely recommend this to anyone!

Love everything about the watch, I’ve used it on several trips to the backcountry. unfortunately after two weeks the leather band started to de laminate. Now it’s completely separated and unwearable. Maybe after a month at best. The band was over 100 dollars so for the price and the fact that you could have just used a solid piece of leather I’m disappointed. I do love this watch though!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Moved from Apple Watch and am Blown Away I had been using an Apple Watch for the past 2-3 years tracking all of my runs as well as my sleep and other things. Since I have been using the Fenix 6x I have really been blown away at how many more details I am getting as well as how much more data I am receiving! I enjoy seeing the data as well as getting feedback from Garmin on rest needed as well as my body battery. Some of this is really cool and I know I am only scratching the surface. This was a pretty large investment as I would not normally spend this type of money on a watch but so far I am really enjoying it and all the features it provides. Also, on last thing to add is the accuracy of the data! It beats what I was getting from the Apple Watch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Battery life, battery life, battery life! My series 3 Apple Watch (Nike GPS) was experiencing some serious battery degradation. While I liked the bright screen, touch screen and ease of use/connection to my Apple ecosystem I was becoming more and more frustrated with the battery life during daily use. Enter the Fenix 6X sapphire. First, the watch is big and I have relatively small wrists (17.5CM’s), it obviously looks large on my wrist, but not bad or even obnoxious. Compared to my Apple Watch, the Fenix actually sits better on my wrist and the band is more comfortable. I have only taken the watch off to shower, most of the time I do not notice it on my wrist. While it is considerably heavier than the AW, I have had no issues with the weight. The one complaint I have, is the screen brightness, especially coming from an AW. Stock it came set at 20% out of 100%, I did have some trouble seeing colors at this level of brightness, especially in the shade. The black and white was ok, but again too low. I bumped up the brightness to 60% and it has made a world of difference, still does not compare to the AW, but it works for me and it probably reduces battery use vs going to 100%. The functionality and apps are foreign coming from an AW, don’t take this as a bad thing, but you will need some time to get used to how the watch works and how to use apps. The workout app selections are robust, at least on par with Apple, if not better. The ability to change watch faces and DL user created faces for specific activities or lifestyles is AWESOME! Lastly, the watch feels very durable and even with the lack of screen brightness, for my lifestyle battery is king. The learning curve for basic set up and use is not bad and while I still have more to learn I am very happy with my purchase and am excited to learn more about the watch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Integrated, comfortable, rugged The fit and feel is bar none the best I’ve worn. The menus are incredibly easy to navigate and the customizable options are incredible. The biggest selling point for me is the long battery life (17-20 days) compared to my Apple Watch...although it would be nice to be able to respond to messages, being able to at least see them is useable. 10/10, would recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all around! I've had my Garmin 6x Pro for almost a week now, and have been loving it so far. Great battery life - out of the box it had 9 days of battery. I was coming from more of a step tracking type device, and this blows the battery life of that out of the water. Charged it fully yesterday for the first time and I've got 16 days of battery. So far I've used it to track walks, indoor treadmill runs, and strength workouts. A lot more granular details for every activity vs what I was getting on my old device, which is exactly what I was looking for. Also really like the always on display. Overall, extremely happy with everything so far. Excited to try it out on the golf course when it gets warmer. Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very disappointed in Garmin I've been waiting over a year to purchase the Fenix line of watches largely because the cost is so high. Having owned Garmin running watches for several years now I was really excited to move into the more advanced watches and accelerate my statistical venture during my runs and hikes. But I was most excited for the possibility of not having to carry around my phone for music. Unfortunately the Garmin Fenix 6X is riddled with synchronization communication issues. All other features of the watch appear to be pretty great. Is unfortunate that the synchronization issues still have not been fixed. I will be returning this watch and I'm not happy about it.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I cannot find where to increase the font size. One of the primary drivers for buying the 6x was the large display - which is awesome, but the peripheral data points are difficult to read without my readers. I'm also struggling with the backlight. When I select "no timeout" I expect the backlight to continuously remain on, but it doesn't. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Going for it's first run today - can't wait.

This thing is a beast and is so chock full of features. I love the battery life and all the data it provides me for all my favorite activities. I just went on a weeks' vacation, hiked 5 times, ran 3 times (all using GPS) and still came home with 13 days of battery life. I've even started using the suggested training activities to maximize my training performance. I cannot say enough good things about this watch and will definitely be a loyal Garmin user from here on out.

I used it for my first daily 5M run and it was accurate and i love the date fields it captures. The features about my sleep patterns are awesome! It does take a bit to get used to making changes to the data fields and accessing features. You have to spend some time working the multiple navigation fields to start learning short cuts and to edit features. I am still struggling with customizing the date fields on the run and trial run modes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from “Watch out” world! To say that the Fenix6x Pro is expensive, would be like saying water is wet. Yes, the watch is likely the single most expensive item I’ve ever purchased aside from my vehicle. With a price point that starts at $650 and goes up from there... it’s hard to see why many might avoid even owning one of these watches at all... You’re missing out. Period. If you’re an athlete, spend any amount of time outdoors, or want to better track you health. Ignore that guy on YouTube who told you it isn’t worth the money. This watch is like a personal trainer that always knows what time it is. Always knows where you are. Always knows how long it took to run that last mile. Always knows your heart rate. Your blood oxygen. Has a compass. Altimeter. Barometer. weather data. Performance tracker. Calendar. Notifications. Music Playlists. Podcasts. Customizable button mapping. Bluetooth capable. Wifi capable. More and more and more! This watch does it all! Personally, I love the watch. It gives me incredible information on the fly. It’s much more convenient to look at my Garmin instead of my phone, especially while I’m out running. the amount of information it can track for me so that I can perform my best is unbeatable. I’ll never go back to fit bit. Is it pricey? Yes.. but what smart watch isn’t? Just keep in mind, this Fenix6x Pro is a fitness and outdoors tool first, and a smart watch second. I firmly stand behind this purchase because I know Garmin makes solid products. This watch is built like a tank. Has amazing different battery life modes. Has GPS on your wrist that can help save your life if you get lost and your phone runs out of power. I mean come on.. it’s a Garmin. What are you waiting for? There’s no reason to go out and spend $700 on a Fenix if that’s not what you need. Garmin has tons of styles and designs of watches that fit all types of jobs and lifestyles. Go out and look for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent gps Just got the watch and have used for a number of hikes and bike rides. Very versatile and accurate heart rate monitor. I am in my 70s and wanted to monitor my HR and stress during hikes. So far it works great and I can customise my activities. Easy to use menu.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The one watch that does it all! If you’re looking for a “smart watch” packed with all the relevant tech, that actually looks like a cool, rugged watch (unlike apple watches) then the Garmin Fenix is your huckleberry. The Pro Edition gives me all I need for a watch to do... and as for battery life... twenty-something days on a full charge makes you question why there is a solar version at all. Wide array of straps and app-fed watch face options means you can have a different looking watch every day of the week. The functions are simple and well laid-out. Tons of cool apps and online tutorials to turn your wrist into a superhero’s side-kick. Sorry Apple, masculinity is not dead yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Watch Dog Track Bought the Fenix 6X Sapphire watch with the Garmin 550 Pro Plus with two training collars. The review said the Fenix series have the Dog Track widget icon which should sync to my Garmin collars. I cannot find the Dog Track widget icon in the widget area (I can find the widgets, but the dog track icon does not show) and have ask for help and just get sent to a standard set up page. That is not helpful when the icon I am looking for is not in the widget area. Like the watch otherwise, but would be a waste of money if I can't connect this high end watch to my dog training collars. This was a $700.00 that on Garmin states the Fenix series has the Dog Track function. It may, but it is not where the directs share it is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loaded with features I almost returned it after a couple of days - too cumbersome, not intuitive. I think I was too used to iOS. After reading more about it and looking at reviews with a few deep breaths - I stuck it out. Glad I did, I still have a lot to learn but have become much happier with it as time goes on. Much more sophisticated than Apple Watch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrible for this price I bought this watch three monts ago and had just trouble with the watch and the connect app. After i received the watch the CPE File was missing, so no way that the watch could find a gps signal, but the really annoying thing was, that you cant push this file onto by yourself. So i need to reset the watch several times and after two and a half days the watch finally connects to the server or App, i dont know, and downloaded the CPE file. The second point is that the watch isnt that accurate for recording your activities. In my Case the Fenix is the successor for a M430. This watch was way more accurate in recording your distances, doenst matter if hiking, running oder cycling and the costs are just a quarter of the price of an Fenix 6X. The third bad thing is, that you cant use the Connect App without a internet connection. I mean, this is an product for outdoor and wilderness. But what is, like it already happens, that someone is sending me a GPS Track over Bluetooth/AirDrop and i cant push it onto the watch. So all the features, like the map, Altitude(not that exact), GPS Routing are nice, but not when the product fails if it matters. But, hey, maybe my expetations where just to high....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use, and so many features! This fenix 6x is my first Garmin watch and first smart watch. I decided to go with a Garmin over an Apple watch because I was very interested in tracking my running/recovery/body stats and to have access to things like text/email/reminders notifications. This watch has so many feature’s that I don’t even know all of them and definitely have not used all of them yet. The fenix 6x is easy to navigate, and easy to read with its huge display. I believe the diameter is 51mm, and as a point of reference, it looks about 1.5 inches across. I have very small wrists, and am on the second to last band notch comfortable, so I feel like anyone could wear this as long as you are ok with a larger watch =) The only downside I have had is that I can’t access/download Spotify; its saying I need up update through Garmin Express and figuring out how to do that has not been simple. Also, this watch is so easy to charge (it took less than an hour to recharge to 100%) and now I have 21 days of battery! I am very happy with my Garmin; this is a fantastic piece of equipment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Promises so much but could easily be better Had a Quatix2 for many years and it was great for sailing/racing but the battery eventually died :-( Navigating to a waypoint is ok on the Fenix6 but following a course is unusable as it doesn't transition reliably and can't even be manually controlled. Nautical units cannot be applied to all measures (eg. dist to next) and VMG does not appear to work at all. The SailRace and Boat apps should probably be combined in to one. I have hundreds of courses loaded in Garmin's HomePort but getting any of them to the Fenix6 (or even a Quatix5) is a nightmare. Thankfully there are some 3rd party apps that do a really good job, but it's disappointing that these are not provided directly by Garmin. I paid almost AUD$1,000 for my Fenix6x Sapphire and my partner paid a similar amount for the Quatix5 a while back so I am disappointed that Garmin can't make the simple changes required to the nautical apps that would make it an awesome watch rather than just a good one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from After Two Weeks, Generally Quite Pleased After several months of research to identify the sports watch with the best features and battery life, I decided to pass on the modest additional battery life (3 days) afforded by solar charging, and purchase the Garmin Fenix 6X Sapphire (21 days of battery life, under optimal conditions--just 3 less than the Solar, which costs $250 more, but with a much more durable sapphire face). Given my interests, I thought about the Tactix Delta with ballistics, but decided my days of theoretically needing a kill switch, extra help with ballistics, or jump altitudes are either behind me, or never were, especially for an extra $650. Half as much for a practically (for normal humans) identical watch seemed preferable. In fact, after exploring its use in conjunction with the excellent Garmin Connect app, the Fenix 6X appears VERY similar to the Tactix Delta in features, and can, I think be set up with apps, such as ballistics (which I still may use) that make it virtually identical, except for the kill switch. A Garmin Tech Support expert could verify this, or highlight other differences. The 6X is BIG. About 50mm wide (watch face/screen 42mm) and 15mm high. I am 6'3", 250 lb. I live in Pendleton wool shirts for 6-7 months out of the year, and often wear them on summer evenings in the Rockies, where I live, or summer days in Coastal Alaska. I was concerned the 6X would be too bulky to easily fit under the cuffs. My concern was well founded. Though my wrists are not those of a lumberjack or carpenter, but of a mostly sedentary, retired "Nollij Worker", the watch fits, but not comfortably or conveniently, on my XLT's. On my XXLT's, the fit is better, as the cuffs are a little more roomy. I have invested in several black "collar extenders" (something I did not know exist, until looking for a solution, and my expert seamstress wife suggested them), which, so far, have worked very well to provide just the right amount of room, yet keep my cuffs in correct position. If you intend to wear this watch with buttoned long sleeves, you should, too. I have worn it 24/7 for 14 days, since charging it overnight. My use has been moderate. I have not used the watch for LANDNAV in the backcountry or other intensive power-draining exercises. I did (not without some difficulty at the Garmin website) figure out how to increase the brightness of the illumination of the dial (which is normally off, but compensated for by reflectiveness of the display that makes it possible to see the time without illumination in sunlight) to 60%. I also set the watch to illuminate automatically when I lift and turn turn my wrist, as I would to look at a conventional watch. I chose to illuminate for 15 seconds after a press of the illumination button or turn of the wrist. I found a shorter illumination time to be insufficient to read all the fun/useful data sets posted around the perimeter of the dial: Altitude; Steps; High and Low Temperatures (weather, not corporeal) for the day; Battery Life Left; Current Heart Rate; Barometric Pressure. I have used the map function just once, so far. It's surprisingly good, though I would still want a larger screen, or a good ol' topo quad, for extensive use in the backcountry. Toggling around the screen is a LITTLE clumsy, but really not bad so long as you have the time. As a fallback from a paper map, phone, or dedicated GPS device, it would be useful. Battery Life remaining after 14 days of moderate, but 24/7 wear and use (at 60% screen brightness with 15-second illumination duration, including after "wrist-twist"): 2 days left, according to the watch. The 21 days of charge Garmin estimates are achievable are evidently not unlike the EPA mileage estimates on my Ram Laramie Crew Cab: aspirational, and only accurate under circumstances in which virtually no one ever uses it. Therefore, I strongly recommend getting the 6X if you anticipate being far from a charger for more than a week and using the navigation or other power-sucking apps heavily. Of course, if you shut off the watch while sleeping, you can undoubtedly extend the battery life, possibly to 21 days. I have not tried that, yet, as I was interested to test battery life using the watch 24/7, and found the respiration, heart rate, and other information about your sleep patterns you can access via the phone app quite interesting/amusing. Overall, I'm enjoying the watch a great deal. Although it was twice what my other watch, a Victorinox Night Vision, cost, and the necessity of recharging it every couple of weeks makes it less reliable in ALL circumstances, it offers a lot of additional utility and entertainment. It's not nearly as beautiful or elegant as an Omega WorldTimer or Patek Philippe Calatrava with hobnailed bezel, but costing one-tenth to one thirtieth as much is some consolation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still lost. Too many trees. We live in deep in the woods in a place where social distancing has been a way of life for hundreds of years. Apparently, there are too many trees and too few marked trails for us to receive viable topo maps. This product is probably great is if you're biking on the Rhine, working out in your suburban gym or hiking in a national park. It was not effective for us in the wild. Additionally, we found the design to be unbelievably clunky, awkward to use and not very intuitive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Too Many Glitches!! I purchased the Fenix 6x two weeks ago and finally returned it for a refund. The features sounded amazing and I was very excited to start using it, but I finally gave up the battle. I've been a Garmin Base Camp user for almost a decade and never had any problems with managing tracks and routes, and sending them to my device (Oregon 550). This watch has tons of great features, but the learning curve is too steep for me. The Garmin Connect and Garmin Express applications sometimes required extensive amounts of time to sync, and I was never able to get the Garmin Explorer iPhone app to pair with the watch. I downloaded user guides and watched several YouTube videos, but I finally gave up after several hours of making little or no progress. I'm guessing there are expert users out there that better understand how to use this watch so I gave it an average rating to be fair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 10 pounds in a 5 pound box I've used one brand of competitive heart rate monitoring watches for about 30 years now and decided it's time to try something else. Looking at the Garmin I liked the idea of having maps and of having the SpO2 feature. First the good - battery life is beyond great and the Bluetooth works perfectly (my previous watch manufacturer got that right). It also works with my current no-Garmin Bluetooth heart rate sensor. Then the bad. The display would be considered excellent in the 1990's. We're 21 years into the 21st century and this is best they can do on an $800 watch? Almost unreadable indoors, even with the very dim backlight. Speaking of backlight, most of these watches (even some Garmins) will turn on the backlight with a flick of the wrist. Not this $800 flagship - you have to press a button. You'd think they'd have discovered this deficiency in the first day they tested it. It's just a firmware fix, all the necessary hardware is there. Outdoors, the display is marginal at best. The popular competitors (you'd know the names) all beat it. There's no touchscreen. Really? To do anything, you have to press some awkward and stiff buttons to change screens. With my previous sports watch (no touch screen either) I just had to tap the screen to switch. That's much easier to do while riding a bicycle. That old watch even switched screens when you held the watch next to the chest heart rate sensor. Its e-ink display, while not color, was really easy to read in bright light which is where I use a sports/fitness watch. The fenix 6X Sapphire has 32gb of RAM yet there's only enough memory to remember seven Wi-Fi hotspots? Because of the button-only, no-touchscreen display the user interface is complicated, very complicated and somewhat inconsistent. I appreciate and read documentation but the fact that a watch has a 60 page manual (and it's not complete) might be an indication that the user interface is not intuitive at all. Would I buy this product again, probably not. It tries to be a jack of all trades and is certainly a master of none.

I also ski and look forward to testing that as well. This is not an Apple Watch. It is an active lifestyle fitness and outdoors device. Screen is not bright, but it is vivid and easy to read. Battery is stout. The buttons and menus are easy to use and were easy to get used to. This takes no longer to figure out than an Ironman or a g-shock. Stock watch faces are awful, but many on IQ store are nice and are free. Watch is worth the $800. If you’ve been reading these reviews over and over, just buy the watch. You’ll have it in a few days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hi quality but sub par User Interface I was very intrigued by the crisp and bright display from the pictures on the net. But in reality the display is only bright in direct sunlight (where it is amazing and easy to read). In all other situations expect a dim and dark display. The User interface really feels dated. I knew it from the videos comparing the fenix 6x to especially the Samsung Galaxy watch 3 and AmazFit GRT 2. A touchscreen and a turning bezel would improve the watch immensely. Garmin get into the new millenium.

I am really liking many functions of the Fenix 6x which I have been able to experience so far. Extremely disappointed with the weather widget. Having spent literally several days trying to problem solve why it provides wrong data from all available help online I have deleted the widget from my watch. This is unfortunate as it would be an extremely valuable widget. I have an Android/Samsung phone and have followed all the online advice. At the end of the day it does not work. This has tainted otherwise would be an outstanding experience with this watch. I do not expect a watch with this price tag to have such a significant fault.

I've recently made the switch to the Garmin Fenix 6x Sapphire from the Apple Watch and I must say I am very impressed with the range the Garmin has over the Apple Watch. There is much more functionality and better readings with the HR monitor and the SPO2. It will take some time getting used to not having a touch screen, but I can already see a monster difference in accidental selections on the watch. Furthermore, after several workouts, I've yet to inadvertently hit one of the buttons with my wrist. All in all, I'm very happy.

I have owned a 735 XT for several years and loved it so much that I have not unpacked my Fenix 6X Pro for 6 months. Today I did. While I know the watch is phenomenal, the software is tough to navigate it took me several hours to sort it out and I'm still struggling for Connect IQ to download the Apps - seems I need to select them individually. Its a pity that such a phenomenal product is undermined by such a frustrating experience. It is not intuitive and its time that Garmin in an age of plug and play apps get with the programme.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rugged, Reliable and Robust Disclaimer: There are people with far more experience and expertise than I can offer. Having said that, I’m very demanding on any equipment in which I invest. After weeks of research, I decided to purchase the Fenix 6X Sapphire. I needed a watch that offered long battery life, can handle the elements including the occasional accidental bashing, and would provide the functionality not offered by my mud master GShock. Specifically, I want track my HR, SPO2, and GPS location continuously. Other “wants” included the ability to capture and store this info without the need for my phone to be in proximity or other connectivity. Overall build quality and the software is outstanding. This is not an inexpensive watch, so I have high expectations… which have been met. This watch hits the mark for me… although I did change the watch face to the Enduro V2. The learning curve is not bad however, I do think it is worth spending some time watching YouTube videos if you’re new to Garmin… which I am. Regarding accuracy of the biometric measurements… nothing beats a dedicated HR strap and dedicated finger ring SPO2 device. Measurements from the wrist are fine for relative approximations but not for medical grade monitoring in my opinion. And lastly, perhaps least important to some… but for me, I wear large watches and I wanted a watch that felt “familiar”. Although not heavy, the 51mm face is large enough for readability… although adequate ambient light is needed for viewing without activating the backlight. The screen is not OLED, hence the outstanding battery life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great overall sports watch I bought it 2 weeks ago. Besides being great tracking sport watch, it made me aware of more of cardio training approaches (zone training) and let me know that i am pushing too hard sometimes. Also excellent battery life

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can's see screen Just got this for my Anniversary gift and the screen is so dark it's impossible to see. Contacted Garmin they were very helpful to assist and send me a call tag, I going on a 2 week trip to Alaska and wanted this to wear. Now it's in UPS's hands and I won't see my replacement until they receive the old one. (makes sense)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome watch Compared to what I was using before this watch absolutely kicks the crap out of. Understandably, I was using just a fitness tracker before where I paid a monthly subscription. That being said, the data you are able to collect via this wearable is pretty phenomenal and the screen size is huge. The tracker I was using before just collected sleep, HRV, RHR, and calories and calculated "strain". Which was great but I don't like a wearable telling me when I am rested based solely upon HRV. This collects so much more data and doesn't produce your recovery as the first thing you see; which is great because honestly, it's not the first thing I care about. If you need to train or just go I don't need a wearable being a negative nancy. Also, the actual data points collected (ex. RHR) are far more accurate and are in line with a manual calculation. The sleep detection and tracking are also really accurate, as well. If this thing got smashed (somehow) I would buy it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bombproof construction, packed with features I was concerned that this Fenix 6 x was going to be difficult to use because of not having a touch screen. I am happy to report that I was wrong. Once I learned what the buttons do (which does not take long) I was impressed with how quickly I could navigate the watch. As for its GPS and activity tracking and recording it is simply amazing. I am an off-road dirt bike trail rider and so having the excellent Nav capability and Fitness recording is super useful. I was a skeptic about Body Battery, but after researching it a bit I understand how important this feature is to overall wellness. My one Feature request? Lets add custom sleep recording for things like naps and or meditation. Summary is - you won't be disappointed with the fenix 6x pro.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5 year Apple Watch user gives it 5 stars!!! Great watch for working out and data lovers. I'm a 5 year Apple Watch user and hated the touch screen for swimming or sweating handles from running or cycling. This watch will give you better or accurate data than the Apple Watch ever gave me!! I'm hooked and a Garmin Watch user for life now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Feature packed product If your serious about tracking your fitness and overall health journey this is the ultimate platform. Coming from a Apple Watch took me a min to get used to buttons but very easy to use. The garmin connect along with the fenix 6 gives so much more data and options for health and fitness and is built in a rugged good looking design. Battery life is outstanding!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great watch I really like the watch, the look and feel like a real watch with the bonus of technology. I do wish it was a little easier to use for some of my work outs, and still learning it. I went diving with it this weekend and screen display was perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional fitness data I bought this recently after using an Apple Watch for two years. My main activity is running, but I started training for triathlon. I should have bought this watch in the first place. I get amazing feedback and direction for all fitness activities, plus a bunch more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Any activity This is my second Fenix after my 5X and I'm even more impressed with this version. If you participate in multiple physical activities, want training suggestions depending on measured fitness, or sometimes explore first-time running, biking or hiking trails, where real-time maps could save your bacon, this is the watch for you! Could not recommend the 6X more highly. Gave my still-functional 5X to my brother and he's exploring the Fenix capabilities.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Watch Face Integrated HRM but overstated HR I have received the Garmin6X as a gift during Christmas. I owned a Fenix 3 for 5 years, the charging part starts wearing out. Comparing to the Fenix 3, the 6X has much bigger watch face, despite of the same bezel size. It has integrated HRM and music playback. I paired my Airpods with the music player, the performance is at par with my iPhone XR. The Heart Rate Monitor is general good while during normal household activity, but over estimate the Heart Rate while running. I have pair a check strap doing the same running, the integrated HRM has 20 - 30 more beats per minute readings in comparison. The other improvement of the Fenix 6x is its battery life, it seems lasting 10 days comparing to Fenix 3's 7 days during mixed use. Overall, very happy with Garmin's new design!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mixed feelings I absolutely love the features this Fenix 6x Sapphire provides but the screen coloring is horrible. I have to modify my watch faces to be white lettering with black background because the colors are so bad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great watch but the 6x is laggy I had the Fenix 6 pro and decided to upgrade to the 6x pro. I love the size and battery gain, but compared to the 6 pro it is very slow to bring up a screen after you make a selection for some reason. Kind of regretting going with the bigger model because of how slow it is and how fast the regular 6 pro was/is.
