Love it!
I had the m5 prior to upgrading. I loved the m5 but I love the new rf lens system and eos r body and functionality. I am looking forward to the 70-200 when it comes out!

Very Happy I went for the kit to start with
I'm very happy with this new kit set up. Love the ergonomics. Full articulating screen, build, menus choices, RF mount and so much more. Another favorite of mine is the Manual focus aids, Finial Canon is getting it together with what older / experienced Photographers want and need. AF is almost perfect and so fast you will appreciate it for stills. AF for 1080p is one of the best in class and really smooth. The lens is tact sharp @ f/4 through out the range. Next up for me will be the 35 f/1.8 macro and some accessories.

I now have two of the Canon EOS R camera bodies and RF lenses. Please, please ignore the negative Youtube and internet chat areas as those folks have either not used the camera and lenses enough or just are not forward thinking like Canon.

Love This Camera!
I've only had the camera for less than a month, but I am super happy with the purchase! It's been awhile since I've had a Canon as well but I'm glad I made the switch back. The quality of this camera is amazing and it has so many features to get the product that you want with ease.

A traditional photographer's Dream.
A shooter of Canon EOS since 1988 (others since 1954 I aways only had the viewfinder for c0mposing the image. Most viewfinders merely showed the 2 dimensions, Horizontal & Vertical -- some SLRs had depth preview darkly displayed. Exposure was never displayed until digital cameras displayed the final image on the back display, not the viewfinder.
Now I use the EOS R with ALL of my EF and EF-s lenses -- and I have exposure compensation assigned to the RF lens ring or EF adapter ring. The viewfinder shows me the exact image that will record to the card! All four dimensions: Horizontal, Vertical, Depth, Light...
If you are already a Canon EOS shooter, you will be at home with the R. Yep, the rear dial moved to what once was a mode dial, but the lens ring more than makes up for this change.
Image quality absolutely exceeds my older pro bodies. Especially with the RF 24~105 4.0L
Just today (10/19/2018) my post-processing apps gained support for .CR3 (the R RAW) files without first using the great DPP app from Canon.
So: Better images; Better handling; Silent operation (optional), weather sealed body.
Just just buy one or rent one to try.

Awesome sauce
Loving the camera. Still getting used to the differences between the DSLRs however once you make a few shifts it's quite intuitive. Favorite thing so far is the control ring. The large LCD is great.

Great camera I’m coming from aps-c body 7D mark2 70D been wanting to go full frame now finally got to do it, it’s outstanding should have been did it but gladly I’m doing it in the new generation of canon plus have a nice amount of canon and 3rd party glass I got the Mount Adapter EF-EOS R and it’s a all around win. But if anyone is on the fence about getting this camera now because you hear about the “R5” “R6” and “R7” depending on what you do as a photographer if this is what you can get your not missing out once you set it to your liking you will not be disappointed also get the battery grip if you have big hands it makes a huge difference and right now you can’t beat the price I got mines with the price a little higher than what it is today but again It’s a excellent choice if your coming from aps-c. Stay healthy everyone dealing with the virus situation.

Great all around camera!
I love the R. It is a premium camera with premium features. The photos are crisp and noise free even at high ISO. The video is stunning to look at and work with. For me the most impressive part is the sheer customizability of all the buttons and dials. I love that I can access the flash options at a press of a button. I'm very happy with my purchase.

I bought this kit a little over a year ago and it has been a joy to use. I bought an EF lens adapter for my EF 100-400 and have had success with that too.

Had to get something to get me thru
I bought this camera because I ordered a couple r5 s on the day that pre-order was available, well needless to say they never shipped and even though I’ve called Canon on a regular basis no one is willing to tell me when these things might be available so since I had already bought an entire set of glass I was forced into this purchase, it’s an OK camera the image quality is great but there’s a lot of features that are crippled on it. It looks like it has the same sensor as my 5D Mark fours so I have no complain about the images coming out of the camera but I do lose continuous auto focus in high speed Schuette mode

I am happy I went ahead and purchased this new camera! I have been pleasantly surprised at the quality of the photos I have taken with it! I am anxious to get out and use it more. I love taking photos of rural scenes and country things, this camera makes my subjects pop, I am extremely happy!

Loving this camera
I've had it a week and there was a learning curve coming from a 5d Mark iii to the mirrorless. At first the touch screen was a little different and hard to get used to. I watched videos and worked with it and it soon started to feel more natural. I've now done a few shots and am in love. The flexibility of the autofocus system is really amazing and I'm just figuring that out. I did turn off the drag to focus since my nose would re-focus it also.
I also really love the feel of it in my hand and that it's so much lighter.

LOVE this camera. I love that it is up to date technology wise. The number of focus points is amazing. Clear, sharp images. Not nearly as heavy as other “pro” cameras. Quality is great- doesn’t feel cheap (cuz it wasn’t lol and the kit lens is much better than a kit lens for the T6i, for example. 10/10 recommend. Worthy investment for sure.

EOS R Is a very nice camera
I really love the weight and balance of this camera as it came in the kit with body and lens. The features are really ice, wireless is a new realm for me but I can see it uses. The lens is of very high quality. The only negative is that it is too close to the EOS RP, which was confusing for me initially. And with such a price difference Canon should work on separating the two lines more.

Amazing Camera
I've been an active photographer for about 2 years and have been using a Nikon d3200 for my travel photography for the most of it. Since about a year ago I have been looking to upgrade my equipment to a more advanced level and I could not be more happy with my first canon mirrorless camera! Beautiful pictures, love the electric viewfinder, especially love the lens.

Still expensive but with March's offer I would have bought it. Unfortunately, these are trouble time with COVID and Canon did not extend the offer. I hope they reconsider and release the offer again once this is over, I will consider the camera again. I had rented and it is great.

My copy of the EOS R with the 24-105 would not not focus. I had previously rented an EOS R and it worked as expected under the same conditions. My test scene is one that I have used with multiple brands of cameras and this is the first time a camera/lens has failed to focus with AF or manual focus. Prior to using this EOS R I had fully charged the battery and setup the camera following online resources.

People dumped all over Canon when this camera was first released. I remember when it came out I loved the feel of it. Felt intuitive and easy to use. Now that I own it, I’m a happy. I can use all my old EF lenses with the adapter and the new Raf lens is fantastic. Great consumer grade camera.

Does not work!
Camera does not work! Was only able to take a few test photos and the camera froze and will no longer turn on. Battery is fully charged.

Poor autofocus
Got this last year and thought my lens autofocus had gone. Nope. Works fine with my 7D. Then i learned that the R has no cross type focus sensors as all the dslr do. Only 2 mirrorless have it and not canon. Very disappointed. Will probably sell it at a loss. Slow inaccurate focus is useless for wildlife photography.

Good but the unit I received had issues
The camera kit was very good. However, the body had a problem where it would display an Error 70 message after shooting a few frames in high speed mode. A couple days later, the shutter button started working intermittently and, on occasion, a permanent black screen would appear when the shutter button worked. Canon very kindly agreed to replace the kit. The kit has been returned to Canon and I’m waiting on the replacement kit to be shipped out.

Improved drastically with the new firmware upgrade. I was initially disappointed with the cameras performance, but feel great with it now. The new firmware focuses fast and accurately.
