My APC UPS has always been faithful, and when the batteries got old, I bought the replacement battery unit. It went in with no issues in a minute or two, and the UPS is back on the job for another few years. Also, it was inexpensive. I expected to pay a lot more.

The battery arrived fully charged, well packaged, in a timely manner, and ready to go straight to work! This battery replaced a battery that had been used to support my home network infrastructure. That battery was 10 years old when it died! For perspective, they recommend you replace these batteries every 3 years. I use APC UPS on ALL my sensitive electronics now, including the home entertainment system.

I also received the instructions to remove the old batteries and install new batteries. So far both batteries are now fully charged and working well. I returned the old batteries to a recycling facility the address and postage was supplied by APC. The customer service at APC was excellent and they helped me waive the shipping costs and gave me 10% discount on the price as I am their customer who bought two APC units from them. This was called a web order. I will continue to do the business with APC as they are the best in the business.

That's 1 to 3 years longer than the expected life span. Replacing it was simple so it was an easy decision to replace it. The back-up device works just like new. The battery was fully charged on delivery!

My previous APC 1500 battery backup was the same model, but older technology, which required installation of two separate batteries with individual connectors. Once installed their connections would sometimes disconnect on their own when the machine was up-righted. That problem has been eliminated with these cartridge batteries. I'm very satisfied now.

Clicked on the link in the PowerChute Personal app and ordered a new replacement battery. Cut power to the UPS for the first time in 4 years, pulled out the old battery, inserted the new and now it's good for another 4 years. Boo-Yah . . .

They are great units, and replacing batteries are a snap. The only disappointment is that APC no longer provides an easy low cost/no cost way to return/recycle the old battery. I had to go to a third party at a cost of $70.00

Returning the used battery is a little bit of a convoluted process, but once you find the correct link to print the return label, the rest is easy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works but was a huge pain to install It really should be possible to open the existing UPS, disconnect the connector, slide out the old battery, slide in the new battery, reconnect the connector, and close up the box. It shouldn't be necessary to perform surgery, take apart the old, 2-battery assembly with bridge piece in between, figure out how to take apart the new battery and connect it together using the old bridge (since new one was incompatible), squeeze it all together and retape new battery assembly, hoping you got it right when you plug it in for the first time. It does work, but after an hour of watching Youtube videos and wrestling with it, I never expected to get it back together correctly.

When the batteries did show up, they were what was needed and were very easy to replace. However, in times past, the batteries would arrive with a shipping label to return the old batteries so they could be properly dealt with, and that is no longer the case.

Always did "Trade-UPS" in the past but this time elected a simple battery replacement in an existing Back-UPS. Ordering was easy, rice was OK, installation instructions were OK-ish. BUT I wish the package had a prepaid return label for the old battery. I did go to the website, and followed the instructions and junk and did get a label and shipped the old one back. But it should be easier. APC "used to" make it very easy. Only change in GOOD ways please!

The replacement battery I ordered was/is (apparently) fine, but the UPS unit itself apparently has inner components that have failed, making the replacement battery irrelevant. My XS1500 (purchased 2016) was not keeping my computer & monitor powered-up for even a full minute during power outages. I observed the "blinking battery icon with an X in it" on the display, leading me to believe that I needed to replace the battery. I did. Nothing improved. After speaking with tech support, it's apparent that it's internal components that have failed, and no battery replacements will fix the issue. I understand batteries not having a long life, but to *ONLY* get 5-6 years from the UPS unit itself is VERY disappointing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long lasting Excellent, modular , slide in and out, was so easy to install replacement. The first battery lasted us about seven years. This backup keeps my wifi Up and running through many brown outs, what more could you want. During full outages we have almost two hours of cable tv with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replacement battery for my UPS - bad instructions The battery shipped very quickly and since I paid the premium shipping I got it the next day. I needed it. The instructions included with the battery didn't apply to my APC model at all. Some of the illustrations seem to show loading the battery through the front with the display panel assembly removed and the illustrations looked very much like my APC model. Fortunately I didn't try ripping off the front panel, I fully disconnected the unit and then turned it upside down to find the access door and laid it on its side to do the battery exchange. Also, what do I do with the old battery ? Don't international ROHC regulations call for recycling it ? Several years ago when I replaced the battery in a smaller APC brand UPS, the instructions told me how to return the old battery to APC for proper handling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy a new cheaper competitors UPS I have spent the last 25 plus years buying APC UPS devices for 3 home computers. Never had a problem until lately. I would expect battery replacements from APC to last more than 18 months. The UPS was purchased about 7 years ago but not put into use until about 4 years ago. Only had a couple of things plugged into it, Bought first replacement batteries from APC Jan 09, 2018. Now the unit says those batteries need to be replaced. APC customer support says too bad, only under warranty for 12 months and to buy a new UPS. This is why, after spending thousands on APC products over the years, I will never buy APC again. It will be cheaper in the long run to buy a competitors product even if I have to replace their unit every 2 or 3 years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from APC Replacement Battery Cartridge # 124 Dear Sirs, After following the instructions for replacing the Battery Pack and a week later performing a program power failure test which passed OK. I noticed that the New Battery Run Time is much lower than the old battery which had a Run Time of 60min this Replacement only has a Run time of 35min this leads me to believe it is defective from your inventory, please send me a good comparable product. Original went bad 12-14-2012, replaced, new one went bad 4-15-13, replaced. It is now 8-10-13 and it went bad again!!! I've had enough! Can not afford to keep doing this! Location of the unit is a very cool & dry place so it's not an environment issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Battery lasted 1 year 7 months Battery is supposed to (normally) last 3-4 years, but the warranty is only 1 year. My BackUPS 1500 said the battery was bad (even though it had a full charge and the standby time remaining was quite good) and it kept beeping at me to replace the battery. After I bought the new battery I found my old receipt showing the UPS with battery was purchased from APC dealer on 11/6/2017. I replaced it on 6/8/2018.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 6 Months? Really? I purchased this replacement since the original for my UPS went bad. No big deal, it was in there for a few years. That was in December of 2017, now I'm being told in June of 2018 that this one is bad and I need to replace it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does not last This battery lasted less than 18 months. They should last much longer. Other battery systems I own have lasted years on the same utility circuit as this (same outages and duration, similar loads). The reliability of this product is terrible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Battery Replacement Dear Sirs, After carefully following the instructions for replacing the battery pack and installing the new battery pack I waited for a week to perform the program test which passed. But I noticed that the Run time is severely shorter than the original Battery pack. This replacement battery Run Time is As Low as 35min this is very disappointing, please exchange this defective product, Thank You, Rudy

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bad after 8 months Bought this replacement battery at the end of November 2019, installed in early Dec, and the battery went bad last week. Might me a short in our system or something, however, our previous battery lasted for over 3 years.
